Here's a Woodland

Here's a Woodland RP for those bears, foxes, birds and even dragons who need a Mythical Forest to stay in. I'll give you a small discription of what it looks like later, but for now, just whoever's interested, leave a comment!

-Edwin-

The woman's face remained calm, though her indigo eyes hardened with - was it irritation? annoyance? when Edwin said his name. "Ah, Edwin," she said. "Well, I'm Celestia. Then unless there's anything else you'd like to ask, perhaps you could go see that village now."

She seemed awfully anxious to get rid of him, figured Edwin - perhaps it would be best to stick around for a little longer. She certainly seemed like she was hiding something.

"Well, if you're headed to that village as well - perhaps we could walk there together? You seem like you know this place better than I do," Edwin suggested.

"Well, if you're headed to that village as well - perhaps we could walk there together? You seem like you know this place better than I do," Edwin said.

Celestia sighed inwardly. It was quite hard to keep up the act of mystery for an extensive time, but she supposed that it would have to do in order to gain more information about this...Edwin.

"Of course," she replied. "And when do you want to make it to the village?"

~Faubourg~

Faubourg was moving quickly now, gliding over the trees, letting the wind propel them forward. Fresh scents raced into their path, but Fau ignored them, until... they stopped abruptly, turned around. Was that… Celestia! It had to be! Fau knew that they should continue on, find the source of those mysterious feelings, but... Fau dove through the trees, ready to greet their friend again, they couldn’t help themselves. Just one quick hello, they thought. And stopped short. Who was that? Celestia was talking with a strange man, who was wearing a weird, oddly familiar uniform… he smelled of grief and fear and blood, Fau had attributed his scent to the wind before. Faubourg’s senses instantly went on high alert. Hidden behind the cover of the trees, they listened in on the conversation. “ Well, if you're headed to that village as well - perhaps we could walk there together? You seem like you know this place better than I do," said the man. “Of course,” Celestia replied, Faubourg registered she was in human form now. The rest of the conversation was drowned out by their thoughts. The village? What were they going to do there? Who WAS this man, he reeked of suspicion (idk if this works the way I want it to, but it sounds good, so I’m keeping it), and that uniform… Fau gasped. That man Celestia  had been chasing, the one with the weird name… Catastrophe! This person was one of his! What was Celestia doing, offering to bring the enemy to the village, where he could harm innocent people? Fau decided to follow them, blending into the shadows and masking their scent. They just hoped Celestia didn’t do anything else too terrible, or else they’d have to report itAnd they would not relish getting their friend in trouble.
I’m kinda tired/sleepy rn so that’s why if this sounds weird

I'm so sorry for the late reply!!

-Edwin-

Celestia replied, "Of course. And when do you want to make it to the village?"

Edwin was slightly distracted by a faint rustle in the foliage, but then he chided himself, Don't be so paranoid! It's just the wind, nothing more. Oh, if Edyta was here, the things she would say to you...

He snapped back to the present and realized Celestia was staring expectantly at him. "As soon as possible," Edwin responded. "I'd like to arrive before nightfall." He smiled. "Lead the way," he told Celestia.

~Celestia~

As Celestia waited for him to respond, she thought she heard a noise, and she could see a glimpse of something...or someone. At once, she could tell that it was...Fau. Faubourg? What were they doing here? Either way, she couldn't alert Edwin of their presence. She kept her gaze on Edwin, making sure not to draw attention to Fau.

"As soon as possible," Edwin replied. "I'd like to arrive before nightfall. Lead the way," he said.

Celestia nodded, and started walking towards the direction of the village. Her footsteps echoed against the ground, rustling the leaves, when they usually were silent, as silent as the wind. But Celestia didn't care if anyone noticed her. It wasn't a secret mission, after all.

Eventually, she came to a stop at a sign that read, "The Village of Terres". She smiled and announced, "This is the place."

---

I just selected a random name for the village, but could you tell me if there's an existing name for a nearby village?

That's fine! Are you referring to the center village of Morrows? If so, yeah, you picked a great name!

-Edwin-

Celestia and Edwin walked in silence, save for their footsteps. Edwin didn't mind it; normally he hated the silence (silence, to him, always felt like the calm before a storm), but now, he was grateful for the chance to just think. When they reached the town, he'd try to find out the goings-on of the Resistance, and he'd change out of his uniform and into something less conspicuous. And he wouldn't think about Jaki. He would not.

"This is the place," said Celestia, coming to a stop. Edwin looked around, interrupted from his thoughts. In front of them was a small wooden sign reading, "The Village of Terres."

"Thank you, Celestia," said Edwin. "We'll be going our separate ways now, then?"

"Thank you, Celestia," said Edwin. "We'll be going our separate ways now, then?"

"I suppose," Celestia responded. Her flight response from when they met was glad to leave, while her stay response was not, and wanted to find out more. But there was a way to accomodate both, perhaps, by tracking Edwin secretly, just to keep track of what he was doing.

"I'll see you around, then?" she asked, with a small smile.

this is so so late, I'm so sorry!

-Edwin-

"I suppose." Celestia smiled softly and added, "I'll see you around, then?"

"I hope so," replied Edwin in his charismatic way, and then without much ceremony, they both went their separate ways. As soon as Celestia was far enough away, he dropped the act, leading his exhaustion show on his face, in the droop of his shoulders. He scanned the streets of the quaint, quiet village, picking out a small inn. A wooden sign sticking out from the building read, The White Birch Inn. Seemed as good a place as any to stay for the night.

He went in, paid almost all of the money he had on him for a room, and the rest of it for a meal. The mashed potatoes were too cold, and he couldn't tell what the brown stuff was supposed to be, but it was alright.

His room was also alright. It was tiny, with a bed, a small bedside table, a rickety wooden chair, and a single window that looked out into the street. It smelled strangely of fish, but Edwin told himself he'd get used to the smell. (He didn't.)

He'd intended to spend some time coming up with a plan for getting back to one of Catastrophe's bases, a plan for finding Jaki. But as soon as he sat down on the scratchy bed, he fell right asleep.

Despite everything, it was the best night's sleep he has in years.

~Celestia~

After Edwin disappeared into the village, Celestia looked around at the village. Unfortunately, it was mostly humans, so it would do no good turning back into a wolf and drawing attention to herself.

She sighed, putting on her cloak, before going to explore the village. The last time she was here, she was still basically a youngling. Now, she had grown, worn away by years of Catastrophe, both him and the meaning of his name. How could it be that she was so innocent back then?

She stepped into the alleys of the village, which were rather messy and dirty, but not as bad as the alleys in Lykar. Now, to track Edwin. With her wolf senses, she could've immediately sense where Edwin was. As a human, however, it was more unclear, but she could still do it. She spotted him going to an inn. That wasn't any good information, however. He did say he was looking for a place to stay.

Night had fallen, so she couldn't do anything more as a human. But she could do plenty as a wolf.

It's been awhile since I've come onto my own thread, (sad, I know), so I'm back! Though maybe not for long...

Where is Fauborg? I miss their silly behavior! Please come back Celine!

Ahem

Anyways, I will be doing the Twin's part soon!

Hello! Sorry I've been ghosting this thread for a while while (huh interesting, "while while") trying to figure out what to do with Celestia and Edwin parting. WHO DO I FOLLOW?! DO I EVEN FOLLOW ANY OF THEM?! DO I FOLLOW THAT MYSTERIOUS POWER?! DO I GO TO SLEEP FOR THE NIGHT?! ACKK SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!! But I check this thread every day! And wow thanks for missing Faubourg that much! :D I kinda miss writing them too. So, Ig I'll just do:

~Faubourg~

Faubourg saw Edwin going into The White Birch Inn, an inn known for its consistency; it was the oldest inn in Terres, from when it was first settled, and since it was founded had given weary travelers a place they could always depend on to get a good-enough meal and a good-enough sleep, all they really needed. They nodded to themself, knowing that they could do whatever they wanted until morning, and still be able to find out what was up with the strange man and what Celestia had been doing with him. Was he in some way hurting Celestia? Faubourg couldn't bear to think about it! But speaking of Celestia... where was she? Fau looked around, searching for some sign of a woman with indigo eyes in a cloak, but nothing. They lifted their nose up to the air and sniffed. Only the smell of the night entered. Fau sighed. Night always interfered with their senses, they didn't know why. Faubourg supposed that it would be best to find a place to sleep for the night. Somewhere with... suddenly, they spotted a bakery sign. Somewhere with cherry pie.. now that was an idea! Fau cherry much wanted cherry pie, they thought to themself, and laughed. It was true! Approaching the bakery, Fau knew that it was the perfect place. The posters were the punniest things they had ever seen! Give us your bread and dough, we'll give you your bread and dough, one said. We make bread and dough!, proclaimed another. Bread and dough is our business! one more replied. Nevermind that they were just repeats of the same thing, Fau loved them. And, of course, the cherry pie was still calling. So, Faubourg entered the Bread & Dough (I wonder why it's called that...) to spend the night, unaware of the dangers that lurked there.

not my best writing and unnecessary dramatic effects  when probably nothing is gonna happen (or is it?) and confusing tags, but oh well, glad to be back! :)

~Celestia~

Celestia slinked into the night, hidden in the shadows. Maybe there were benefits to being a half-human, half-wolf, because that meant that she could be both active during the day and night and not damage her well-being.

She traced Edwin's scent trail to a local inn, and stopped. This search isn't going to go anywhere, Celestia thought. I'll have to wait 'till morning.

Celestia lifted up her snout and sniffed the air just to check for any signs of...well anything. Anything dangerous, unfamiliar, familiar, or important. Suddenly, she caught the scent of cherry pie, and something else...Oh, it's Fau, she realized. Maybe I should go look for them.

So she followed Fau's trail all the way to a small but neat bakery labeled Bread & Dough and stepped inside tentatively, though not before transforming into a human, of course. One could never be too careful around these areas.

Cautiously, she called out, "Fau?"

~Faubourg~

Fau finally found the cherry pie, cooling on a rack in the kitchen. They knew they probably shouldn't eat it cause it wasn't ethical and probably illegal and all that but...
It tasted as good as it had smelled! They were just licking the last few crumbs off of their lips when they heard a tentative voice call out, "Fau"? Faubourg's name seemed to echo around the empty bakery, giving it an eerie tone, and they froze, clutching the cooling rack like a weapon, then realized it was just Celestia. Celestia... who had been speaking with that man, Edwin. Edwin, who might have left the inn and was here again. Edwin, who Fau wouldn't be able to smell with the night still interfering with their senses (not to mention the strong, delicious scent of cherry pie!)... Fau slowly advanced through the kitchen door, cooling rack held like a baseball bat, ready to swing. If needed, they could take Edwin down... they leaped into the main room and almost whacked Celestia in the head with the rack before realizing that it really was just her and no one else! They breathed a sigh of relief. Not having their senses to rely on... Fau always got slightly more paranoid at night. It was scary, like being blind and never knowing if you were going to walk off a cliff or not. Of course, Fau could always fly if they walked off a cliff, being a dragon (and so could the cooling-rack-baseball-bat, being a bat! Fau chuckled, they had to remember that one!), but it was still unsettling. "Celestia!" they cried, dropping the rack and bouncing up and down with excitement. "What are you doing here? And, umm.. who was that man you were with?"
Faubourg, straight to the point as usual! :)
or at least I think as usual... Fau's character seems to change everytime I write them. At least the 3 most important things always stay the same: loyalty to friends, cherry pie, and horrible humor (probably my favorite part of Fau!!)! :)

it took me way too long to write this :/ i've missed writing Edwin!

-Edwin-

That morning, Edwin laced up his boots and decided to go for a walk.

It was a beautiful day--of course it was, this was the Summer quadrant of the Morrows, where the sun shone stickily every day--and besides, he needed to scope out the Village of Terres. Maybe another member of his troop had had the same idea as him and was taking refuge in this village. Maybe--maybe Jaki was here.

It had been--what? three days since they'd been attacked, since he'd lost his best friend? had it only been that long? it felt like a lifetime--but the thought of Jaki still sent a painful twinge through Edwin's chest. He found his mind constantly drifting away to Jaki, to xyr absense, testing the pain. It was like when he was a child, and lost a tooth, and his tongue kept finding its way to the cavity his tooth had been, exploring the gaping hole where a part of him had once been.

He'd exhanged his uniform for a simple tunic and pants, but kept the boots. They were sturdy, dependable. He wasn't about to go wandering through a forest in a pair of cheap boots from the village shoemaker. Before he'd left his room at the inn, he'd tucked Annwn into the holster on his belt, half-concealed by his oversized shirt. He wasn't letting his sword out of his sight for a second. It was all he had left.

The town was quaint, homey; from where he stood, just outside the inn, he could see a bakery, a tailor, several houses. He began to walk through the town, hoping he looked like he wasn't just wandering around aimlessly (which he very much was).
