In its dying moments, SOCS merged with BIG, despite the fact that they'd been enemies for a time. BIG's cadet academy had already been established, but suddenly BIG had a bunch of experiments left over from SOCS. BIG wasn't so evil to keep up something so unethical as experimentation on live subjects… but these were the leftovers. The war is getting long, hard. They're starting to justify the use of experiments in hopes of creating stronger, genetically enhanced soldiers.
Meanwhile, BIG Cadet Academy for the Valiant is accepting more and more students at an alarming rate. Feeding children as young as eleven propaganda, teaching them to fight, and then placing them on the battlefield or into labs as soon as they come of age, it seems as though BIG is getting more desperate (and ruthless) than ever before…

Here is the recreated (and hopefully better) version of the original boarding school roleplay. The very basic story is summarized above, but I'll put it in clearer terms. The story is that now that SOCS, a very evil group of scientists who used to experiment on live beings, has been destroyed, BIG has been left with their experiments. At first, they were only using the leftovers, but they have now grown so desperate for power in the war that they are creating more experiments in an effort to make stronger soldiers. BIG also has a boarding school for students (BIG Cadet Academy for the Valiant or BCAftV) who will either fight or do science for them when they graduate. Mostly students learn propaganda about BIG, science, and combat skills, although all of the core classes are more or less there. At the academy, there is a lab. Some experiments are living in the lab for the students to use as test subjects in their lessons. But when a group of students becomes aware of these experiments plot for escape, they have to decide if they want to help or not. This roleplay will be about the days leading up to a small rebellion from students and experiments at BIG. If you have a half-baked, undeveloped idea for a character, don't worry because this is a perfect place for character development!
Your character can be a student or an experiment. While there is no limited number of characters, we ask that there only be up to eight experiments right now for smoothness and believability. Please consider if you will have time to commit to this roleplay before you join, especially if you're making an experiment character. Two of my characters are experiments, which leaves six experiment slots left as of right now. You don't need to have been in the old roleplay to join this one! If you were in the original roleplay, you can keep your character or make a new one. I'm also going to give you first dibs on experiment slots if you already had an experiment character for the next few days; that only seems fair.

Age: 15
Appearance: Quite tall, with looong light brown hair with natural blond highlights. Light golden tan skin, with a smattering of freakles across her face. Long fingers, and long legs. Sparkling hazel brown eyes, and short but thick lashes. Full lips and a normal sized nose. Small ears.
Personality: Funny, kind, and gentle. Enjoys company of others, but hates to be interrupted when reading. One of those who'd love to joing the dance party, but is a bit to shy to do so.
Skills and abilities: Fast at swimming, running, and climbing. Great with a staff, and okay with bow. Strong limbs from all that climbing and running. Good at games and things that include brain skill.
Likes/dislikes: likes- Reading, writing, climbing, swimming, chocolate, friendly people, funny jokes, singing and music. Dislikes- Horror things, shoes, cold days, purposely ruined books (and not purposely) animal abuse, lies, mean and rude people, cheaters

Species: Mainly humanoid, but due to experiments, he is 4'10" at age 13, has claws on his hands and feet, has dark tattoo-like markings, silver eyes with star pupils, has a cat tail, pointed ears, and fangs-like teeth.
Personality: Untrusting, quiet (mostly), witty, snappy when angry, ISTP
Skills and abilities: Can run for miles without getting tired, can lift things three times his weight, lying, and although he doesn't use it, his voice when he sings can do almost anything, but at great cost to his physical being.
Likes: The idea of escape, being alone, and using his sharp tongue
Dislikes: People (especially guards), and the thought of being trapped for the rest of his life
Shipping: he prefers boys/non-binary people but some girls are ok too
Other: He's been there for as long as he can remember and has always been a bit rebellious.

Name: Crescent "Cress" Auclair
Pronouns: she/her
Age (11-17, please): 17
Appearance: long, wavy, dark brown hair (it used to be short but I changed it :]) and a pale, freckled face. She has dark eyes. She is on the tall side. She is usually wearing her school uniform.
Personality: Cress is reserved and quiet. She is confident. She stands up for what she believes in and is usually kind but not always nice.
Skills and abilities: she is a very skilled archer; while good with a bow and arrow she is best with a crossbow. Generally a talented fighter, though not as skilled at academic subjects. Good at sneaking, hiding, stealing, and lying.
Likes/dislikes: likes her archery class, sneaking to the rooftop at night, a good challenge, and not having homework (though who doesn't like that last one). Dislikes chemistry class, know-it-alls, snobs, and sitting still for long periods of time.

Oh and forgot to say: as the first RP was going on, I realized that Lee is, like, FULL Catastrophe supporter, I think something to do with her parents and stuff...? Like idk, were they killed by the Resistance or who(m)ever, or? Me not knowing my charries' backstories XD But yeah she's all for Catastrophe and BCAftV, so I have a feeling she's gonna be pretty conflicted later on... :D
also she has a big appreciation for nature and simple beauty in the world <3

Pronouns: Primarily uses xe/she/he/they.
Age: A teenager, but...in cat years?
Appearance: A handsome and quite large Birman cat with three fluffy tails and a robotic front arm, spine, and eye (this eye is particularly shiny and white--it has no pupil).
Species (can be completely, partially, or not at all human): Catborg.
Skills and abilities: She is particularly flexible, due to xer bionic spine. Their eye can see through walls and has a lie detector--it also has a laser pointer for giggles. (What can I say? He's a cat.) Xer eye is a very fritz-prone GPS.
Likes/dislikes: Despises wet environments because xer robotic parts become prone to fritzing or stiffening when xe forgets to apply their water-repelling spray. Adores the warmth. Enjoys writing with a pen that xe is able to take out of his robotic arm (since she doesn't have opposable thumbs, their robotic arm has an attachment that allows him to write).
Shipping: Sure. Xe has no preference.

Personality: xe is clever, and they have a mysterious aura. He likes being alone, but also enjoys some company at times. She reads people very well, and always observes people before jumping into a conversation. He loves contributing and helping people, but hates being under-appreciated. Xe's sometimes standoffish.
