Professor Hornshaw asked me to start a thread for young scientists who accept the Brazen Inquiry Guild’s job offer. Please post your formal acceptances here. Along with your acceptances, we would like to hear how you might help the Guild:

--How will your latest invention further humankind's mastery of the natural world?

--What wild animal would you most like to domesticate, and why?

--Do you have any relevant certifications (i.e. cage building, cage soundproofing, cage maintenance, interrogation techniques, testing cosmetics on animals, etc.)?

I look forward to seeing you around the lab. Thank you and DOMINIUM EX SCIENTIA.

Chinchilla, I think you have just found your Alter Ego (AE)! An AE is just that, another person that you can talk to in posts, except that you write ThePersonWhoMakesNotes just as you write yourself...unless ThePerson is a bit sanity-challenged. Most AEs are, but it's all up to you.

l accept. l am very honered to help B.I.G. in its mission.

--How will your latest invention further humankind's mastery of the natural world?

The U.S.S. Conquistador is an exploration vehicle able to explore all corners of the earth, even underwater. It can house enough supplies for two people. It will further our mastery of the natural world by leaving no place unexplored, no stone unturned. With it, we will be able to carigorize every species of plant and animal, explore every hidden place and discover so much more.

--What wild animal would you most like to domesticate, and why?

Squirrels. They're annoying, useless, pests. They need to be domesticated and controlled.

--Do you have any relevant certifications (i.e. cage building, cage soundproofing, cage maintenance, interrogation techniques, testing cosmetics on animals, etc.)?

Oh yes. l designed and built the U.S.S. Conquistador, with it l discovered a new species of beetle, the Coleoptera Umbra.

l have also studied the nautral world to a great exent.

Why, of course I shall join BIG! It has been my life's dream to partake in the experiments of BIG, and I shall accept your offer graciously. My latest invention that will help humankind's mastery of the natural world is in fact a life-sized suit of a bear. To another bear, the wearer of the suit seems just like another of its kind. The costume is equipped with hearing aids to allow bear-quality hearing, and a nose tweaker that permits the ability to smell the air just as a bear does. The fur is authentic bear fur from an Alaskan grizzly bear, and has been misted with the musk scent of another bear. One more aspect of this costume is a voice alterer that which when spoken into, only another human in a costume can understand. It's quite simple, really, but I'll explain in further detail once I'm settled inside BIG.

I should certainly like to domesticate the deer, not only because certain types are large enough to ride, but because of their fast reproduction rate. The bucks are quite formidable, and with proper training I'm sure they could become an excellent source of transportation, protection, and nutrients. Plus, I'm working on a formula which could change mankind's view of Odocoileus virginianus forever.

I have experience crafting cages with soundproof Plexiglass, and my Zoo-CagerTM is equipped with automatic feeding machines and a bowl built for introducing medicated food into the animal's diet, perfect for medicine testing on rodents and rabbits. My latest project is a pill, but isn't finished yet; therefore I will inform you of its workings once it's complete.

I would like to request an apartment room of my own, far, far away from Giniva, if you can do that for me.

Dear B.I.G.,

I would love to join The Brazen Inquiry Guild. I am not a skilled inventor, but I am a healer.

I can help you ajust animals to life in the lab and heal them to create the perfect spieces. I would most like to domesticate big cats so we can lear hunting tactics of wild anmals better. I am certified in cage maintenace and a wild animal vet.

 Sincerely,

Cheryl Kittens

Of COURSE I'll join you guys! I'm completely on your side...

~My latest invention is a lightweight pair of wings that acutally fly! They come with many other special features too. I make many of my inventions by studying how animals move and work (without disrupting them, of course,) and I made this invention by studying hawks. The wings can fly for a long period of time without you having to press the "FLAP" button, just like hawks can soar.

~I love cats, so I would love to be able to tame a lion or a tiger. I'm guessing by domesticate you mean tame.

~Nope. I prefer to work on my own terms as an individual, so I don't take any courses that could certify you to have a certain title.

I gladly accept this position.

I am Crescent Muun. I have always wanted to join the BIG. I am very interested in animals--not in the way that I am an animal lover! I am interested in them because I believe that humans are by far the most superior species, and that to truly conquer the lesser species, we must find out as much as we can about them.

My invention in process:

It is similar to the Cypher, but even more advanced. After devoting my time to thorough research, I have figured out that in addition to the standard, universal animal language that BIG is currently working to crack, there is another language that almost all animals speak. The spoken version is very complex, and not often used. However, its written and computerized coded form IS used.

My invention would work at decoding messages and uncover any rebellious activiteis the animals may be attempting. It would use Alma-0 programming language to detect factories (patterns within code) and decode messages.

Wild animal I would want to domesticate:

Monkeys. We can take advantage of their smarts.

Experience:

I have experience with programming and other computer functions, although I have no experience with any kind of hacking. I used to work on programming for some software companies, and did some work creating websites for various clients.

I had the wonderful opportunity of volunteering to help the Animals Control Catchers for a week.

I promise that I will be a

Super

Proud to be part of the BIG and will share my

Youthful ideas to help this prestigious organization.

Hello, I would like to formally accept a position at B.I.G.

I have invented a hydroelectric dam that is efficient, practical, and pretty. (The whole package!)

I think domesticating hummingbirds is an excellent idea. We could teach them to sword fight so that they could fend off those pesky crows.

I have a degree in interrogation technique. (Not really. But I am good.)

And did I mention...

I LOVE THIS SO SO MUCH!

I fully accept the offer.

- I have created no inventions but I have  dreamt up many helpful inventions to humankind.

- I would like to domesticate the ape because it is a neat and intelligent animal.

- No I do not.

Dear Brazen Inguiry Guild,

Thank you so much for the offer to help progress further human intellect. I am honored by your selection. My latest project is a set of miniature clockworks that, when set together in the proper order, will be able to travel through time and space to deliver (in many different languages) messages and prevent disaster. Although I am a great supporter of B.I.G, I beleve that the domestication of wild animals is unbeneficial to both the animals, and how humankind moves forward. To keep the world as smooth as it is, we must leave the animals alone to be free and happy in the wild. But, in order to stay ahead of myself, I will mention a few of my refrences:

~I am a certified member of the Kyngdom Historical and Mechanical Guild.

~I am working on a HypnoViolin, which will be used to entrance any species through music.

~I have fixed exactly 168,342 clocks around my town (Guild) of which 86,745 were ones of my own creation.

Thank you for offering this position to me. I won't dissapoint you!

Sincerely,

Kathleen M, age 12

I accept!!!!!

According to the job offer, we'll be building with the cypher, so we can ask animals stuff.

I'd domesticate a tiger, because they're fuzzylicious.

I don't believe so, but I do like building contraptions so maybe the cage one, and also, I don't particularly like the makeup idea because my Labrador retriever would look incredibly foolish in lipstick.Kiss

I am very glad to accept the position!  My latest invention is a machine allows the user to assume the form of any animal, while keeping the intelligence of a human or human like species (for I am a fae) yet understanding the species and speaking the language.  I would be delighted to get my hands on the rare Faerage Delert a type of dragon only found on the remote Wert Island.  If the animal is caught it is obligated to tell the lucky trapper all of the secrets they wish to know.  It is my quest to catch this animal.  I have a feeling that this job will lead me right to the Faerage Delert.
