- You have until the due date and time (central time) to submit answers to the current challenge.

- One answer per partnership may be submitted.

- At least one correct answer by the due date is necessary for the entire group to receive the challenge's clue.

- You may interact with the enviornment in any way you like. You may also speak to as many people in the environment as you want. Chat, ask them questions, etc. Once you post your end of the conversation, I'll submit their responses to you.

- If a partnership is eliminated, any answer they submit will not be considered.

Good luck.

--Challenge 2--

-Environment-

You wake up with your partner and fellow CBers in an entirely new area of town, although you're not sure that you ever fell asleep in the first place. You are in a park with very soft green grass (which means it surely isn't in California. I kid, I kid.) and neat grey brick walkways. Wooden park benches line the path and plastic blue picnic tables sit under the tall trees.

There are a number of trees in the park, including oak and ash. A large grassy field is also there, with soccor goals set up at either end of it. There doesn't seem to be any children's play equipment anywhere.

A boy who looks to be about ten years old sits on a bench listening to something on a portable device. A dog wearing a cloth harness lies at his feet.

You cannot see what's outside of the park as there are too many trees in the way.

-Due Date-

8 June, Wednesday, 12:00 am

-Prompt-

Casein, a kind of protein found in milk and milk products, can be used to derive a number of amino acids. One such amino acid is named after a plant that is used in a potion at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

-Answer-

Give the name of the amino acid and the name of the potion.

I sit down on the bench next to the boy. His dog barely glances at me.

"Hey," I ask, "Do you know what part of town this is?"

The boy doesn't notice you talking to him until his dog nudges his leg. He jumps, pulls his earbuds from his ears and stares blankly ahead while asking, "What?"

You repeat your question.

He looks in your direction and says, "Oh, sorry. I didn't know anyone was there. This is Samsa Park. It's named after some old guy who died a long time ago. It's on the side of town that... that.... well, I don't know my directions too well, but it's the opposite direction of the sea."

I walk over and try to ask the boy what his name is, where we are, and what his favorite color is.

The boy doesn't notice you, but his dog does and nudges his leg with its muzzle. He yanks the earbuds out of his ears and looks down at his dog. You say, "Hi. What's your name?"

He turns to look at you, or rather, a space a little bit to the left of you. His face breaks into a grin. "Hi! I'm Connor. And this is Hester." Hester is presumably the dog, a friendly looking yellow lab. "Who are you?"

"I'm Mirax T. and this is S.E."

He looks surprised. "Oh, is there someone else with you? And the name Mirax, Mirax.... it sounds familiar."

You say, "Mirax Terrik. It's just a Star wars thi-"

Connor interrupts excitedly. "You like Star Wars too? I love Star Wars! That's what I'm listening to right now." He holds out his iPad to show you. It looks a little different than most iPads, but you can't quite decide how. "It's Tarkin, by James Luceno. I got it for Christmas and listened to it three times already."

You and S.E. sit down on the bench next to him. "Where are we?" you ask.

"This is Sousa Park. Hester and I go here almost every day. This is my bench," he says proudly.

"What's your favorite color?" you ask.

His face wrinkles up in concern. "I don't know."

"Huh?" you say. "How can you not know?"

Connor smiles sheepishly. "I'm blind. I've never seen a color. But Delia says Hester is yellow, so yellow is my favorite color, I guess." He pats Hester on the head. "Yellow is a nice, soft comforting color, I bet. It must be amazing."

GAAAAAHHHH!!! I've been Googling like mad for the last half-hour, and this is what I've found: I am pretty sure the plant is Dittany, and the potion is the Wiggenweld Potion, BIT I CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE DARN AMINO ACID!!!!!

HAB, help????

YES! Chemistry! (Sort of.)

I'm pretty sure the plant is Valerian, and the amino acid is Valine, but I'm unsure about the potion. Draught of Living Death? Draught of Peace? Forgetfulness Potion?

I don't think Dittany is right, only because there are no amino acids that sound anything remotely like that. None of them even start with D.

Oh......  Probably. I'll start Googling!

Athena and Will made the time limit with the correct answer. Cho and Air did not make the time limit and the answer was incorrect.

After a hard 5 minutes of Wiki surfing....

I have come to the same conclusion. WHICH DO WE CHOOOOOOOOOSE!?!?!?!?

Unless we come up with any more eveidence, I think we should just use the Draught of Living Death.  It's a pretty common name in the books.
