Challenges Thread

- You have until the due date and time (central time) to submit answers to the current challenge.

- One answer per partnership may be submitted.

- At least one correct answer by the due date is necessary for the entire group to receive the challenge's clue.

- You may interact with the enviornment in any way you like. You may also speak to as many people in the environment as you want. Chat, ask them questions, etc. Once you post your end of the conversation, I'll submit their responses to you.

- If a partnership is eliminated, any answer they submit will not be considered.

Good luck.

A few oak galls grow from the branches of some of the oak trees. You hope no one is allergic to wasps. You can't see any nests anywhere. Some of the trees seem easy to climb if you were inclined to do so.

Your feet shuffle through crisp green grass. The ground is slightly soft but not wet or muddy.

Past the trees, you can see a black metal fence and past that a street with a line of shops.

@Rose bud

I'm going to be gone today and tomorrow. So if you needed me for anything I can't be here.

I overhear the other CBers' conversation with the boy and slowly walk over. I approach the dog and bend down, looking into its deep, dark eyes.

"What secrets do you know?" I whisper.

(random thing they do in movies with ancient artifacts, :P)

Hester looks at you somewhat warily. If she can talk, she doesn't respond. You notice that on her harness it says, "Dog on duty. Please do not pet." Perhaps that is why she is wary with you.

Wait--I just re-read something. You said "Sousa Park" and "Samsa Park."

Is that a typo or a clue???

t wondering . . .

Sorry, that was a typo. I was trying to decide between those two and I made a mistake the second time. Whatever the first name of the park was, let's go with that.

Hmm, I think, an official guide dog. I know if I get too close she might attack, trying to protect her owner.

I stand up and decide to just interrogate the one who can speak English.

"So, do you know where we can get some more info about this Samsa person?"

Despite being interrupted earlier, Connor doesn't notice you talking until Hester nudges his leg. He jumps and pulls his earbuds out of his ears.

You repeat your question. Connor seems confused. "Samsa who? And who are you?"

"I'm the Novelist," you say, "and this is Savvy. Samsa is the person the park was named after, right?"

"Oh, wow, a novelist!" he says. "Uh, I guess Samsa was some old guy who died. I don't really know. Maybe he gave a lot of money here or something. I'll ask my big sister."

Let's do Draught of Living Death. If there is more than one, then Ruby has to accept all of them, right?

Ruby, can the next one be a puzzle or something? Not a trivia question?

It's not a piece of trivia and it has math, so you shouldn't have much room to complain.

Challenge 2 has ended.

-Correct Answers were Given by-

balletandbow and hotairballoon

St. Owl and Mei-xue

Air and Cho C.

I was referring to the books, but any potion would work well. And it is indeed an ingredient in the books. From page 189.

Anyway.

-VERY IMPORTANT-

If you didn't get this challenge or the last one, that's completely fine. You're still in the game. No one has been eliminated and failure to complete challenges correctly will not eliminate you.

-Clue #2-

The person who made this town made all the people and everything else in it expressely for you.

--Challenge 3--

-Environment-

You wake up, without recalling falling asleep, in a large roundabout. Red sidewalks cross through the roundabout to allow pedestrians to pass. Come to think of it, you've seen a number of cars parked, but not very many people driving. In the middle of the roundabout stands an enormous and glorious fountain.

Three corners of the roundabout are occupied by shops and sidewalks (grey concrete, oddly enough), but one corner has a large grassy, tree-filled area enclosed by a black metal fence. It is presumably Samsa Park.

Connor, Delia, and Hester are walking around the fountain and chatting with each other amiably.

A woman in her mid-30s with curly red hair stocks an outdoor display of bagels at a bakery across the street from the park. You can see some people inside the shops, but no one else is outside presently.

-Due Date-

11 June 12:00 am

-Prompt-

Challenge 3

-Answer-

Answer must be given in form of a color. Either describe it or make a screenshot of it and upload it.

Cho, let's have our backup answer be Valerian and Draught of Living Death anyway, even as we check?

You both are aware that 12:00 am is midnight, right? XD
