Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Regular poetry thread

Regular poetry thread (because I'm tired of not editing my poems)

This is exactly what it sounds like! A thread to post poetry. I'm excited to read all of your work!

The sweet taste of dawn,

Morning dew breaking;

Thin blades of grass across the lawn,

In the wind quaking;

Something sad hangs over it all,

The dim light of transition seeming to call.

I just got Breath of the Wild and... Oof. I've only ever played A Link to the Past before this, so it feels really empty and sprawling and nostaglic.

~~~~~~~~~~
The world is wide,
But empty inside;
Time eats away at long-forgotten walls,
It is only then, a century later, fate calls;
The only one left in an abandoned kingdom,
Felled protecting that very same kingdom;
Now all is left to the mist and trees
As grass becomes overgrown,
And strongholds now house
Foes arriving in seas;
Ruin and past glory are all that remain
Of a world once golden, now history, slain.
Wow, this is beautiful and also very sad! It completely captures the spirit of the game. Also have fun playing Breath of the Wild, it's such a good game!
sorry this is pretty bad
you~
you are certainly not perfect- braces and skinny arms and you don't always have the words but
i like you just how you are, honestly- words are hard but we sit together with
crooked necks and controllers, staring up at the glowing screen as you show me how to dodge the
others so i can win for once but i dont even care about that all i care about is you as
your hand reaches out to straighten my glasses so i can see better- butterflies dancing in my
stomach and a tingling in my hands as we switch to the next game- i've never ever ever felt
this way before and i like it,
like
you
It's not, really! It feels really personal and captures all that jittery energy.
The smallest hand ticks by:
Every second
Another second closer to disappearing,
One second less
Of things left to do;
There are billions of seconds in a life
And yet
What are a million seconds
When one can pass so quickly?
Once again,
Here I am:
Fingernails bitten to tatters;
Shoes left in shambles;
Eyes, broken windows
That don't lead to anywhere.
Tears
Lost in a sea
of rain
Ears
Lost in the chaos
Of the world
Eyes
Lost in pages upon pages
of text
Heart
Lost in time,
Forgotten
You
Lost in an invisible
Place
Who's left
Now to hear you
scream?
Here I stand
In a world so empty
Forgotten
And left behind
But that's
Okay it still holds its magic
And that's
All that matters
To me
Hello! I've read a lot of poems on here (aren't poem and poetry such nice words?) and I was a little nervous to share some, but I just wrote these and it's the start of National Poetry Month, so why not. Enjoy!
Stars~
Stars
Little daydreams
Scattered throughout they sky.
Stars
Little questions
Of
"What?"
And
"How?"
And
"Why?"
Stars
Memories
That fade away
As soon as night
Folds into day.
Stars
Constellations
Complications
Lives, belated.
Stars.
Quietly Complaining~
The music is dumb.
The record player isn't loud enough.
And you have two left feet.
The apartment is too small, if you ask me.
But it's Saturday
And we're dancing
There's love, there's life, a pang of sorrow
You say, "We could sleep in late tomorrow."
We bump into the wall
Gosh, the living room's small!
But it's not like I mind at all
Because it's Saturday
And
I'm
Dancing
With you.
Love~
I
don't
like this
at all.
I
just
want to
go home.
But they said it wasn't safe
And I think they were wrong
Do you think I'm crazy?
... No
I think you're just a girl in love
You say that like I love this town
But the thing is, I know that's not true.
It was never about this town.
It was about
my
love
for
you.
Tha-rump, tha-rump
Tha-rump
You peak out over a hill
Tha-rump, tha-rump
Tha-rump
You are one together
Tha-rump, tha-rump
Tha-rump
Says the undying beat of hooves
Tha-rump, tha-rump
Tha-rump
A thankless beat, drummed out for Eternity
~~~~~

Eternity was one of my first horses. It's a play on words. :)

The world is cold and grey

Not really

But sometimes

When the wind blows its last

Sours notes

And all I have left is that

In a world

Abandoned and silent

But for the

Sound of nature

that always taunts me so

And when

a splash of colour arrived

Sound

movement

liveliness

Something that's

Not grass

I was

Relieved

But soon I'd rob that colour

Destroy

That lovely spark of life

And now

I'm all alone again

In this big world

Filled

With nothing

I never wanted to be

A colour thief.

My insides screamed

The first time I accepted it.

The first time...

Back when I wasn't tired yet.

When the world still felt so new

And I wasn't sick of grass grass grass.

To a time I foolishly thought

My cause was good and righteous.

And I deserved to be the one

Who brought back the colours.

But no not in this cold grey world

You're mistaken you've let the legends get to your head.

You've stolen away those last colours

That still graced this world in sprinkles.

Now you're all alone

Yet again.
