Song game!!!

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Song game!!!

Song game!!!

I had a brilliant idea. Or maybe it's brilliant. I guess we'll see. So, what if one CBer writes a couple lines of a song, and the next CBer has to post a couple lines of the song that it made them think of.

For instance, if I posted:

Now it's cold without you here

it's like winter lasts all year

but your star's still in the sky

so I won't say goodbye

Then the next person could post:

The cold never bothered me anyway.

It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small

and the fears that once controlled me can't get to me at all!

It's time to see what I can do, to test the limits and break through

no right no wrong, no rules for me, I'm free!

Then say the next person posted:

Free to be anything you choose.

Free to weigh tables and shine shoes!

And so on. Got it? Okay, just remember to make sure the last person has posted before you post.

All right, so here are the song lyrics we'll start with:

And at last I see the light

and it's like the fog has lifted

and at last I see the light

and it's like the sky is new

and it's warm and real and bright

and the world has somehow shifted

Have fun!

I think there's another thread like this that was just started a few days ago. Please be sure to list the song/show and/or singer/writer to give proper credit to the lyrics. I'm pretty sure the words above are from Frozen. Am I right?

That reminds me of Oceans, by Hillsong United!

When oceans rise,

My soul will rest in your embrace

For I am yours

And you are mine

That's what it reminded me of, too!

Yours reminded me of Shoulders (For King and Country) for some reason.

My help comes from you,

You're right there pulling me through

You carry my weakness, my sickness, my brokenness,

All on your shoulders

Your shoulders

 Sunshine on My Shoulders-John Denver

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy,

Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry,

Sunshine on the water looks so lovely,

Sunshine almost all the time makes me high.

I forget the singer, but it's Walking on Sunshine!

I'm walking on sunshine, whaaaaoooo!

I'm walking on sunshine, whaaaaaaaoooo!

I'm walking on sunshine, whaaooooo!

And don't it feel good? And don't it feel good!!!

And that reminded me of Mr. Blue Sky by Electric Light Orchestra!

Sun is shinin' in the sky

There ain't a cloud in sight

It's stopped rainin' everybody's in a play

And don't you know

It's a beautiful new day, hey hey

And that reminds me of Beautiful Day by Jamie Grace (XD) (I know Aspen already posted this one, but it reminded me of a different part)

And ooooooohhhhh

There's somethin' 'bout the way

Your sun shines on my face

It's a love so true, I could never get enough of youuuuuuuuu

This feeling can't be wrong,

Yeah, I'm about to get my worship on,

Take me away

On this beautiful day

Oooh oooh, oooh oooh, yeah

It's a beautiful day

This reminds me of "It's a Beautiful Day" by Michael Buble. It's on rather a different note... ;D

It's a beautiful day, the sun is up, the music's playing

And even if it started raining

You won't hear this boy complaining

'Cause I'm glad that you're the one that got away

And it's a beautiful day

That reminds me of Feelin’ Good, which is also sung by Michael Buble.

Birds flying high

You know how I feel

Sun in the sky

You know how I feel

Reeds driftin' on by

You know how I feel

It's a new dawn

It's a new day

It's a new life

For me

And I'm feeling good

I'm feeling good

A truly great song. Originally written in 1964 for a little-known musical and made famous by the wonderful singer Nina Simone!

@Admin, yes! I love Nina Simone, especially one of her songs Sinnerman. Her voice is amazing.

Theme Song for Mister Rogers Neighborhood.  (I had to, XD!)

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood,

A beautiful day for a neighbor,

Would you be mine?

Could you be mine?

Please won't you be my neighbor?

This reminds me of the Mandela Effect, because the actually lyrics are:

It’s a beautiful day in THIS neighbourhood....

But it sounds like it should be “the!” XD Great choice, I love Mr. Rogers.

That reminds me of Burn from Hamilton:

I save devery letter you wrote me

from the moment I read them

I knew you were mine

you said you were mine

I thought you were mine

It might just be because I've been listening to it so often, but that reminds me of Quiet by Lights:

I'm not yours,

And you're not mine,

But we can sit

And pass the time

No fighting wars

No ringing chimes

We're just feeling fine.

Reminds me of Newsies. Actually, everything reminds me of Newsies, but this reminds me of a part in the old movie.

Neighbor to neighbor;

father to son,

one for all and all for one!
