Treehouse mystery

You open your eyes blearily and check your alarm clock. Only seven o'clock?! You groan and roll out of bed. You plod your way to the kitchen, rubbing your eyes. Grumpily, you begin to make breakfast. When you try to pour milk into your cereal, however, a rolled-up note slides out if the milk jug. Gripped by curiosity, you snatch it up, unroll it, and read with growing interest:

This is, indeed, the ski lodge connected to the hotel ski lodge I finished not too long ago. I intend to make this one more eloquent then the hotel one, which was painfully short. If you like mysterious, strange ski lodges, then by all means, come.

An idea, considering the other lodge: is this Madam F. M. Bearu connected to the Izzy mentioned in the first one?

Darkfeather say idai. That sounds a bit like idea if you say it right.

Day 1, part 2:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Madam Bearu led them up a set of sturdy wood stairs leading to the main part of the treehouse. The CBers immediately got the feeling that they were walking into a cozy wood home: an old rug splayed across the floor, with lumpy sofas and armchairs grouped around the room. A small, sleek TV hanging on the opposite wall seemed to be the only relevantly new thing in the room.
Madam Bearu guided them through a door on the right. They came to a slightly smaller room, crowded with little good tables with about four or five chairs at each of them. The group stared at Madam Bearu expectantly. She cleared her throat, sounding like she was choking.
"This is where you will eat. Breakfast will be served shortly. You will be free to wander about the treehouse and forest. There are signs around the Treehouse to direct you. You have been sorted into three cabins: Oak, Pine, and Maple. In Oak cabin: Neko, Fireburst, Tyberious, Will, Gracia, Nymph, Thirty. In Pine: Maki, Byann, Darkking, Mor, Annabelle, MJ, Ocean. In Maple: Everstorm, Darkfeather, Harliquin, Secret, Viola? Icy, Winter."
"Now, it is time for breakfast."
They glanced at each other nervously, then clumped together in groups. Madam Bearu glided through an exit to the kitchen. The groups immediately began to talk, quieter at first, then getting steadily louder and louder. The CAPTCHAS had formed their own table, jabbering away four letters at a time. A table containing Harliquin, Byann, Winter, and Ocean was noisiest of them all. Neko, MJ, Tyberious, Darkking, and Icy chatted unconcernedly, while Secret, Viola?, Gracia, and Fireburst conversed about art. The remaining five- Will, Annabelle, Maki, Nymph, and Thirty- clumped together awkwardly.
In an unusually speedy time, Madam Bearu burst back in the room, balancing three gigantic plates if food precariously on her arms. She set one down on each table, then went swiftly to grab the other two.
Once they finished stuffing themselves with bacon, eggs, hash browns, and bagels, the guests began to explore the Treehouse and woods alike. Well, after dashing off to drop off their luggage- the rooms were uncanny to a summer camp cabin: medium-sized room, with several bunk beds and some random nightstands.
The rooms in the treehouse were mostly libraries and lounges, but MJ found a room with several board games and Annabelle found another with several telescopes. Harliquin, Byann, Winter, and Icy found and excellent swinging vine, and Viola? was delighted to find a popcorn machine that didn't require payment. Those who had spent most of the day outside, such as Gracia, Tyberious, Will, and Neko, discovered several animals, including otters, owls, and rabbits. Neko even swore she saw a deer.
Lunch and dinner passed in the same fasion as breakfast; fir lunch they were served a wide variety of sandwiches and vegetables, and salads, soups, and bread rolls for dinner.
"I wonder how she cooks the food so fast," Darkking marveled as they were being served dinner. Icy shrugged and reached for a baked potato. Ocean slid out of her seat to go to her cabin. Nymph scowled at her as she left. Ocean scowled right back.
The dining room slowly emptied; the day had been quick and exiting, and several of the CBers were rather tired. The dining room was about half empty when Maki came running back in, pale and shaky.
"Guys!" She panted, "Ocean's dead!"
They weren't exactly on friendly terms going in, so it could mean nothing, although if it was Nymph... she probably wouldn't have minded not having to hold back, but I can't think of a reason she would kill the rest of us, too. Of course, she could also shapeshift to throw us off, which would be very interesting.
Day 2, part 1
~~~~~~~~~~~

The residents of Maple cabin woke that morning to a  screech of "EWJK!" and a loud hiss. It didn't take Secret, Viola? and Icy very long to calm everyone down and figure out what happened: the two CAPTCHAS, instead of using the bunk bed for its purpose, had slept together in the bottom bunk. Darkfeather had accidentally woken Everstorm by scratching her, so Everstorm screamed.

Everstorm, Darkfeather, Icy, Viola? and Secret decided to go to breakfast, since they were already awake. They were soon joined by most of Pine cabin, who had had a restless night after Ocean's death. They had checked and rechecked for a pulse, but to no avail. It was a total mystery how she had died; it was as if she had been killed Harry Potter style, with an Avada Kedavra. She hadn't been stabbed, shot, or poisoned. Her death was very ominous to her cabinmates.

Once everyone was in the dining room, Madam Bearu served them sausage, waffles with syrup and whipped cream, fresh fruit, and a steaming vat of oatmeal. Byann took it upon himself to use his table's whole whipped cream. Winter rolled her eyes at him and borrowed the CAPTCHA'S whipped cream.

Nymph left quickly, a tiger's tail whisking out behind her.  Gracia, Tyberious, Neko, and MJ decided to go swimming in the lake together. Like the sky, the lake had a green hue, but Madam Bearu assured them that it was safe to swim in.

While they were walking to the lake, laughing and bursting out in Hamilton music, the rest of the group dispersed until Will, Maki, and Annabelle we're the only ones left.

"Um. You guys want to go play some board games or something?" Annabelle asked awkwardly.

"I suppose," Maki replied stiffly. Will shrugged. Then they began walking to the board game room.

~

Gracia, Ty, Neko, and MJ stopped- that had reached the lake. Ty glanced around.

"There aren't any ducks, are there?" He inquired.

"Uuuuuuuuuum noooooooooooooo..." Neko replied, staring at him like he had sprouted a second head.

"Okay then. CANNONBALL!" There was a loud splash. The three girls looked at each other, shrugged, and jumped in after him.

~

"Liv looked up and froze. There stood the enemy, standing at the top of a building. She and her friends snuck around the barrier, looking for another way in..."

Thirty was narrating everything In her book, but Secret heard none of it- she had bug up an excellent set of headphones.

The two were alone In a library, Secret cozied up with a Rick Riordan book in a bean bag chair and Thirty sitting in a very primly matter, reciting her book for no one to hear.

It was there, right then, when it happened. Secret gave a little gasp of fright and shock, followed closely by Thirty, then both of them slumped over in their seats, dead.

FUN FACT: the part of Thirty's book she read aloud was actually a snippet of one of my novellas. :)

RIP, Secret and Thirty.

No! Thitrty! You were so young--actually, older than me but still ageless?--and--why, cruel world!? Why?!

Really though, this is getting better and better--we have no confirmed causes of death yet, which both frustrates me and intrigues me. It's so mysterious...

It's also interesting that Secret couldn't hear Thirty, while Thirty could very likely not be able to hear much over her own narration. That could've helped the murderer...
