Music Club

So for my CBversary a few people said they wanted to do this. I am working on a Little Lost Library revival but that will probably take a while. In the meantime, here's the music club!

This is for anyone who loves music and wants to discover new artists. To join, just comment saying you want to join. Next Friday, we'll start rotating, starting with me and then in order of who commented. Anyone can join the rotation at any time! If you comment saying you want to join, you'll be added to the end of the rotation.

The way it will work is each week, the next person in the rotation picks an album to reccomend, and everyone listens to it. Once you've listened to the album, say a little about what you thought of it! Doesn't have to be too much, just something like, "I enjoyed it" or "It wasn't really for me" and maybe something like "___ was my favorite song" or whatever.

I think that's it! We'll start on the 26th :D

The album Lowlight is pretty nice. It sounds enchanting :) My fav songs were Aquarius and Windmill, tho all of them were pretty good.

This was pretty good! the girls have such pretty voices, and it does have a fairytale vibe to it all. My favorite song was probably 'The King' I especially liked the lyrics of that song. The music is really gorgeous as well! I'd probably give it a 8/10 :) thanks for suggesting this!!

OOOOH it's so different from what I had expected! I'm listening to "Bonum" right now and I love how it starts off sounding like a Gregorian chant... it would be really good for a movie, and the singer's voice is wonderful! And the smooth, melodious harmony and instrumental... It sounds sort of Celtic. I think "Windmill" is actually even prettier than "Bonum".

Anyway, the whole album is beautiful, I love it so much! I'll definitely be listening to it again and trying other Lor albums!! 9/10 :)

first of all, this album was awesome. 9.5/10, easy. it all worked together to create a singular atmosphere, and succeeded to the point where it is genuinely difficult to pick a favorite song. i'd say cinnamon or the king if pressed. the lyrics were... strange? i'm very into the lyrical side of music, and i didn't always get it exactly? but they were beautiful, all the same, and the singer has a gorgeous voice.

throughout, i was aware that the music reminded me of something else. i figured it out! a musician called tendon levey. it isn't, like, a one-for-one fit, but they share a similar aesthetic

i second the observation that this album sounds like winter.

This was a realy cool album! The ethereal quality to the music was super cool. My favorites were probably 'the king' and 'aquarius'

Overall awesome vibe to it, 9/10!

Ooh it's pretty! It sounds so Celtic/medieval, and also definitely like folklore. The vocals are so nice, and the instrumental as well :) I'm listening to "Cinnamon", and it's lovely, possibly my favorite? "Bonum" is really nice too, though. They all sound so lyrical and deep and beautiful and almost magical, like they should be in a fantasy movie. I'd probably give the album an overall rating of 8/10; thank you so much for recommending it, I'll be listening to it again :)

Here I am! Sorry for the lateness~

So I just want to explain - there's this singer called Lisa McHugh, who has a lot of songs that I absolutely love, but I searched for some of her albums online (which is mainly where I listen to music) and THEY DID NOT APPEAR :/ Oddly, most of her songs are available, it's just that the compilations of them as albums are not. So I'm just going to list a few of her songs instead of an album. I hope that's okay!

Anyway, my dad introduced me to McHugh's music several years ago, and she is just about one of the best singers I've ever heard - her voice is beautiful, and her songs have so much energy and just... happiness? They're the kind that make you want to dance around the room and laugh and have fun. I suppose technically they're country, but there's a lot of Irish influence in there as well, and they're very traditional, not like modern country *haughty sniff* (oh, all right, I like modern country too, but these songs are even better :D) I think my all-time favorite is "Hillbilly Girl", because it's just so vibrant and has so much sassy energy.

Here's the list:

-Hillbilly Girl (Galway Flashmob)

-Y'all Come

-The Lightning Express

-Wrong Night

-Country Girl

-What You Get is What You See

-Court of Love

-My House

I'm sorry for the inconvenience in having to look up all those songs individually; if you want me to recommend an actual album, lmk and I will :) And next time I will definitely recommend an album, not just a list :)
