Alice in Wonderland..

Alice in Wonderland...  I don't think I've ever been so excited for a movie to come out.  Tim Burton + Johnny Depp = good movie, yes?  My youth leader's daughter, who's 21, and I are good friends (she's pretty much just a thirteen-year-old with a license), is taking me to see the midnight showing of it.  Hopefully in 3D.  Hopefully in the IMAX.  I'm quite excited.  I'm assuming some of you are, too?

I'm excited for you... but Tim Burton movies freak me out... not to mention Alice alone freaks me out.  Alice + Burton = bad combination for me.......  I know, you must all think I'm nuts, but I'm sorry, I can't help it!

Haha, and it wouldn't be a Tim Burton movie without Helena Bonham Carter..... Yikes her head is huge.  How weird that Anne Hathaway plays the White Queen.  I was on Wiki, gawking over the amount of famous people in that movie... and the I went on imdb, and spent about an hour (again) gawking at photos, and now I kind of want to see it, but I also don't, because I have such a low tolerance level for scary stuff.........  Heh heh

Oh, oh, oh, you should see it!  But wait until Friday, because I'll tell you how immensly creepy it is. (:

Haha, yes, ok.  :)  So, um, the thing I'm most concerned about is battle scenes.  I basically sat with my eyes closed and my head aching for two hours while watching one of the LotR films... don't remember which though.

Well, this is definetely not as intense as LotR!  It's basically just her killing the jabberwocky, which is pretty quick.  And it's okay if you close your eyes for that. :)

YAY ALICE IN WONDERLAND! *squeesqueesquee*

March in general is going to be an epic month. Alice in Wonderland comes out, Alice is released on DVD (it's a miniseries based on AiW by the same director who did Tin Man), I get to see the national tour of Mary Poppins in Denver, my friend turns eighteen, we get Soul Music for book club (the events of which were referenced twice in The Truth, so I'm doubly excited), we put on Boys Next Door, and I get to meet my uncle's new wife whose name I don't know (in Arizona. Where it's *warm*).

Back on topic: OMG THE TRAILERS ARE SO EPIC! AND THE NEW POSTERS! I WANT THE ONE WITH THE QUEEN OF HEARTS/HBC! (and despite being fired Ashlee can still get it for me woohoo, and the Sherlock Holmes poster too!) THE CAST IS EPIC! THE DIRECTOR IS EPIC! THE COMPOSER PAST EPIC YEARS AGO AND ENTERED THE REALM OF HALEY-CAN'T-THINK-OF-A-GOOD-ADJECTIVE LAND!

No. I'm not excited at all. What are you talking about?

The teaser poster with Johnny Depp has eyes that follow you around the room. It scared small children when we hung it up in the theatre. We had to take it down.

The new ones are SO COOL though.

AND THE ANIMATION LOOKS AMAZING! SQUEESQUEESQUEE!!!

I'm not quite... that excited... ;) but I am very excited.

The Octagon (or a fragment of it anyway) is going to see it the weekend it comes out. Maybe at midnight. That would make me really happy.

Also, not that I'm obsessed with LGW (you guys all wrote "Alice" and I actually thought "Hey! They spelled that wrong"), I'm even more excited. *quietly dances* HBC as Redd is going to be incredible.

And Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter (*thinks "Hatter Madigan"*), and Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar... he's perfect. XD Plus Timothy Spall. I felt like an idiot when I only just crealized today that he's the guy who plays Peter Pettigrew. (And, as it happens, Mr. Poe in that not-so-great SoUE movie. Though if I recall he was probably good. And I think he was in Enchanted too.)

And Tim Burton! And Danny Elfman! Yayyy!

Iwatched the trailer... is it like a sequel-like thing? Cuz they kept saying "Alice has returned to Wonderland" and "since you've been gone..." But anyway, I the only one of my friends who wants to see it. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp creep them out.

@Katie: She's s'posed to be nineteen and come back to Wonderland to defeat the Queen of Hearts. Just like in LGW. *squee!*

Oh and TNO, did you know Helena Bonham Carter plays the Red Queen? Just thought you would want to know since she also plays Bellatrix.

Yes. I know. She looks to be brilliant, if the trailer is anything to judge by.

She also, of course, was Mrs. Lovett. And Emily. And Lady Tottington... And Mrs. Bucket... Marla Singer... Morgan... Elizabeth... From Sweeney Todd, Corpse Bride, Wallace and Gromit in the Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Fight Club, Merlin, and Frankenstein.

And a bunch of other stuff I haven't seen.

@Mary: Noo, you're not obsessed with LGW at all. *shakes head* Though I do rather want to read it. It sounds interesting. Redd sounds funny and Ax Crazy. Re: Timothy Spall: And don't forget the Beadle in Sweeney Todd!

@Katie: It isn't a sequel. I think it may be playing with the idea that Alice has been there before (possibly multiple times) only she either doesn't remember, or possibly she was there in a past life or somesuch, and now she's back and she's the only one who didn't know that this isn't her first time in Wonderland. After all she is much older than she was in the books. That, or I seriously missed something whilst reading them. Regardless, it looks to be a good movie. With a perfect cast and arguably the best composer in the business.

Actually, I read that Tim Burton just liked the characters from the books, so he decided to make his own story with them.  Sooo yeah, he did.  Oh, and, did you get to see it before the fifth, since you work at a movie theater?

Yeah, Timothy Spall was in Enchanted; I think he was "Nathaniel" or something like that. I never really caught his name. Sort of an incompetent bad guy who turns good at the end.

I'm with Laura, the whole thing looks a bit creepy to me. I think I'll wait until I hear some of you guys' reviews and then decide if I want to see it when it comes out on DVD.

November is going to be a big month this year as far as movies go--HP7 part 1 and Voyage of the Dawn Treader both come out then! (Which comes out first?) I think I may end up going to see two movies in the theater in the same month for the first time in my life! I usually only go to the movie theater like once or twice a year.

@ TNO (umlaut): Redd *is* Ax Crazy. She also has carnivorous roses. I definitely want one of those as a house plant.

Of course. Um... how could I possibly forget the Beadle from Sweeney Todd. ;)

@ Brynne: Right, he was Nathaniel. He was quite good in that, and as Pettigrew as well.
