Silver Moon Group!

Silver Moon Group!

@pangolin and @wildsong (hope its okay i didn't use all the caps) this is our group! Let's see...we all like reading and writing. Which do you prefer?

My favorite club might be the writing club, not particularly because of the writing we do there, but becuase it's become kind of like a hangout (though ofc we still do some writing). @pangolin, that magazine sounds rlly cool! I would want to see it if i could :)

Amsterdam sounds like a rlly good place to go. The cities are really pretty. Italy sounds cool as well. There are so many things to see/do there! If you could go to a specific landmark anywhere, where would you go?

Yeah, it's quite hard to choose from all the fictional worlds. All of them seem really cool. Are there any fictional foods you'd want to try, or plants/animals you want to see?

@WiLdSoNg and @pangolin, all those books sound really good! I'll look out for them in my library. Recently I've been reading the Lunar Chronicles. I've recently finished the third book, Cress. It's really really good.

Hmm...pet peeves, probably loud squeaky or scratchy noises and people who cut in line. How about you?

What's the first thing you do in the morning when you wake up?

I wish we could all have a writing club irl! Although..... we could do one here..... *gets brilliant idea*. I think one of my favorite parts of clubs is actually hanging out with people who are similar to you. So of course not much gets done! (At least in my experience)

Specific landmark... hmmm... I'm not really sure. I'd probably have to do more research. What about you?

As for fictional foods, plants, and animals, I think it would be really cool to try the ambrosia and nectar from the Percy Jackson worlds because they say it tastes like your comfort food and that sounds amazing. Admittedly I don't know what my comfort food would be XD. Plants/animals, all of them! But especially the cute ones, like a deer fox.

Ooh the Lunar Chronicles. I've never read that, what's it about?

The first thing I do when I wake up is bury my face in my pillows and try to ignore the fact that I've woken up.

Yesss, writing clubs!! That sounds so fun - writing communities are always so wonderful. I think we did have a writing club on here, but it kind of died...we should definitely revive it!! :D Though, if you think about, the entire CB is kind of one big writing club! :O Thank you! I wish I could post pictures of the magazine on here, but other people's work appears in it, so I can't :P Ah well. Yess, I love clubs for the community too! It's such a great way to meet people who share your interests. I also love being exposed to new hobbies/interests, or improving hobbies I already have! Today, for instance, in my publishing house club, we had a zoom meeting with a poet! They shared some of their poetry, talked to us about where they get their inspiration, did some writing exercises with us, and generally gave some really good advice/motivation! It was really cool. Have you guys ever had a chance to meet with an expert in an area you're interested in?

Specific landmark, hmm. I love all sorts of ruins - none in particular, but just in general ruins are super cool. Hmm, and Trafalgar Square because it's the name of a song I like lol. And Kinderdijk in the Netherlands, which has all these windmills and is soo pretty. And a lot more I can't think of on the spot. There's a lot, as you can see XD What about you, Moon Wolf?

Ooh that's a good question!! Hmm, I'm not sure about food - I'll have to think on that one. As for animal, maybe something from a Studio Ghibli film? Like the totoros or kodama or soot sprites or fox squirrels. (Have either of you seen any Ghibli films?)

Oh, the Lunar Chronicles! I read Cinder a while ago and liked it, but haven't read any of the others. Do you have a favorite character or book of the series so far, Moon Wolf?

Yess I definitely agree with all your pet peeves, Moon Wolf!! Some more of mine are chewing/mouth noises, people who walk slow in the middle of the sidewalk so I can't really go around them, and being interrupted while I'm reading/writing :P Do you have any, WiLdSoNg?

The first thing I do is also bury my face in my pillow and lament having woken up XD. And then I do a word puzzle and mini crossword.

yesss we should revive the writing club that would be so cool!!! though it is true that CB is rlly just one big writing club, but still, it would be cool. @pangolin it's so cool that you got to meet a poet! Unfortuantely I haven't met an expert yet, though it would be really cool to meet an author or poet. (Though ig I have technically met plenty of authors and poets here on CB!) But yeah, a writing club would be a wonderful thread idea. there could be activities once a week (like for example, a writing exercise or poetry challenge)

All landmarks are pretty cool. I want to visit the Taipei 101, maybe Great Wall of China, the Colosseum, and Machu Picchu. Do any of you like to visit national parks/preserves?

For food, I would want to try mallowmelt from KOTLC, and like @Wildsong said, ambrosia and nectar from Percy Jackson. for me, I'd want to see a dryad or unicorn or centaur from chronicles of narnia. yess Studio Ghibli!! It would be cool to see totoros. @pangolin (and wildsong if you have before) what movies have you watched from Studio Ghibli?

So far, my favorite character is probably Scarlet (in the next book) or Cinder. My favorite book is Cinder and Winter. @wildsong, the series is set in the future about the people on Earth (Earthens) and people who live on the Moon (Lunars) who are facing conflict. The evil queen of Luna is trying to take over Earth for more resources, so she attempts to forge a marriage alliance with an emperor on Earth called Kai, threatening with war. In the midst of this is a cyborg named Cinder who has a hidden identity and could save them all. hope that sounded dramatic and captivating haha

@pangolin also agree with those pet peeves haha. How about opposite-of-pet-peeves (like that thread)?

When I eventually wake up after going back to sleep several times, I like to read a book. yess word games!! I love doing them. How about you, @Wildsong?

Do any of you have a favorite flower or plant?

Oh my gosh it's been so long! I was starting to thing the CB would never reopen.

you know, I wonder how many writers, poets, artists, etc, who are on the CB are going to be famous one day. And we'll never know, because they'll likely go by their irl name.

i haven't seen Studio Ghibli! Is there anything worth watching? I really don't know much about it.

@Moon Wolf, that book sounds really good! You're very good at summarizing books. :)

yeah, I for sure agree with your pet peeves. Hmmm maybe one for me off the top of my head is when people pose for selfies. I don't know, but it bothers me.

opposite of pet peeves thread is so important! I feel like we get caught up in negative things about people/life so to have a thread for that is great. Some of mine are when people near me doodle because I love watching them draw. Or like a certain way some people play soccer.

Yes, the NYT games! It's funny how big they've gotten. I love the wordle, and I'll occasionally do the mini crossword or spelling bee.

My favorite flower is maybe an orchid because they're sooooo pretty. And I love a lot of plants, so I could never decide a favorite. What about you?

Hi!! it's great to be able to talk to you guys again :DD

ooh, i like the idea of a writing club with weekly activities! that sounds really fun. and WiLdSoNg - that's something i think about all the time too! i can totally see some CBers becoming famous for their writing/art, and we'd never know :0

those landmarks all sound amazing, Moon Wolf! i love visiting national parks/preserves, even though i've only visited a couple. i went to Glacier National Park in Montana a few years ago, and it was sooo pretty. what about you?

yesss Studio Ghibli!! I've seen most of them, i think - Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Totoro, Howl's Moving Castle, Kiki's Delivery Service, Castle in the Sky, Arrietty, Spirited Away, The Boy And The Heron, Ponyo, Princess Mononoke, When Marnie Was There, From Up On Poppy Hill...so yeah, quite a few XD which ones have you seen? do you have a favorite? and yes, WiLdSoNg, i would definitely watch them! i think Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, and Princess Mononoke are some of the most popular ones, so you might want to start with those? but i think they're all really good. i love the animation.

ooh, good question! some opposite-of-pet-peeves: thunderstorms (and, subsequently, the smell of rain), summer evenings when the windows are open and a light breeze is coming in and you can hear the cicadas and the occasional car or motorcycle whizzing by, when people remember tiny details about you - your favorite book, your favorite type of candy, whatever. what about you, Moon Wolf?

yess, word games! i found a website where you can make your own connections game, and my sister have been sending ones to each other! it's pretty fun.

ooh, orchids are pretty! my favorite is either a hyacinth, mountain laurel, or honeysuckle - aah, it's so hard to choose! what about you, Moon Wolf?

were you guys up to anything while the CB was down?

@Wildsong, that's true! Ik CB truly has amazing authors and artists that I can definitely see being famous.

@pangolin, Glacier National Park sounds so cool! I've never been there before. What did you see? I've been to Yosemite and Arches National Park before. Both are super pretty, with the waterfalls in Yosemite and the arches during sunset...

I'd recommend pretty much all the ones pangolin said. The animation is rlly good, and the music as well! @pangolin, do you have a favorite movie out of those?

@wildsong, thank you! :))

yess the smell of rain is amazing! other opposite-of-pet-peeves: the smell of books, lavender fields, sunrises, when someone compliments me on writing or poetry, crackling fireplaces, falling snow and freshly fallen snow, and finally getting that book you've always wanted to read and reading it!

@pangolin, that website sounds cool! it seems fun :)

all of those flowers are pretty :) I love the unique color and shape of orchids, and the vibrant color of hyacinth. But personally, I must say lavender. I love its natural scent (not the artificial ones), the color, lavender fields (as I mentioned above)...do you have a favorite tree?

I didn't really do much while CB was down, but I managed to finish a short story (and wanted to post it on CB but couldn't until now)! I've also gotten into a new book series. How about you?

What did you miss the most when CB was down?

submitted by Moon Wolf, age lunars, Star Castaway
(March 12, 2024 - 8:02 pm)

National parks are so cool! I wish I've been to more.

ok, I'll definitely give Studio Ghibli a try! Thanks for the recommendations guys! If you have anymore movie/book recs, totally let me know!

ohh all those opposite of pet peeves sound amazing! I love them!

Wow, Moon Wolf, you are so good at describing those flowers! I love so many different flowers. As for trees, I love maple, because they're just such beautiful hardwoods and making syrup is so fun! But I also love more obscure trees like ash, or basswood. I just love trees! How about you?

while the CB was down I finished up skiing and started up soccer again. I didn't have much time to read or write unfortunately.

I definitely missed the people the most. I love all of you! You're so amazing and make me feel so good!

hELP it took me so long to reply to this, i'm so sorry!! thanks for waiting! <3

i definitely agree with all those opposite of pet peeves! so cool

ooh, all of those flowers do sound so pretty!! lavender is lovely. it's so hard to pick a favorite tree because they're all so beautiful, but i think i'll go with the ginkgo, or weeping willow, or maybe dogwood...aah, it's so hard to choose! what about you, Moon Wolf?

that sounds fun, WiLdSoNg :D while the CB was down, i did a bit of snowboarding and sledding (i feel like this winter was so short ToT), visited my grandma, built a giant shoe out of cardboard, prepared like crazy for my English class mock trial, and started writing a musical with my sister about a detective who happens to be a duck who wants to go to France. long story there XD

i am glad to be back though!! like WiLdSoNg said, i missed the people the most! also, in a similar vein, i missed being surrounded by such creative and supportive people! there isn't really anywhere i can share and get feedback on my writing irl, so i really appreciate the cb as a place for that! what about you, Moon Wolf?

All those trees sound amazing! I love cherry blossoms and Jacaranda trees. Favorite...biome?

All of that sounds fun! @pangolin that musical sounds interesting. Doing anything for spring break?

Yep I really missed everyone, including all the poetry and stories and Kyngdom. CB rlly is an amazing place.

How did you join Kyngdom?

(March 22, 2024 - 9:47 pm)

Favorite biome hmmmm... Well this one is a little hard for me because I live in a region where two biomes intersect which is really cool. How about you?

Also, so so sorry for not responding! T-T

Wow, pangolin you were busy! That sounds so cool! And if you're willing to share some of the musical I would love to read it! It sounds funny!

I have some grandparents coming for spring break. But.... I'm excited for the eclipse on Monday! Where I live we are in the path of totality! We get school off.

I joined Kyngdom because I love the idea of role playing in an amazing world built by so many amazing people. What about you?
