Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Ultimate CB Book Log
Have you read...

Have you read a book recently?

Enter its name here. This is the 2017 Ultimate CB Book Log. Well, technically starting in 2016, but who cares?

This is a place for us to keep a huge, giant log of books, both for ourselves, and also so other CBers can see what we're reading. Everytime you finish a book--whether you've read it or not--put its name and author here. You don't have to talk about it or anything...you just type in its title. We can discuss books here if you want, but it's not required.

Have fun!

I think this is a great idea, Owlgirl!

Like September, I recently read Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth (finished yesterday). I think I like her Divergent series more but it's kind of hard to say that first of all because it's been a while since I read that series and also this book is so very different from what I remember Divergent to be. Like, it feels like I'm reading an author I've never read before. There were some aspects of the book I didn't like, some I quite did, and some I could imagine to have been written differently, but over all I enjoyed it.

I read through everybody's recent posts, and it's really cool to hear about books y'all have read that either I've read, or I've heard of, or want to read. Especially in the YA and teen department.

@September glad you like Caraval! And I also glad you tried out Midnight at the Electric even f it wasn't your thing. You never know unless you don't try it. Also, I've heard of/have been slightly interested in A Study of Charlottes and And Then There Were None, and it was nice to hear your input on it.

@Nianad YAAAAAAASSSSSSS I love people who love Uncle Rick's stuff! That's awesome that you liked Dadk Prophecy. And yes, I get all the things you mentioned and agree with all of them. I loved getting to meet all the cool new characters, and I love J and E too. Once again can't wait for book 3!!!!!

Concerning release dates and related matters, I have two main facts to share (don't know if you peeps know it already) First, good news: Trials of Apollo will be a FIVE BOOK SERIES!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAHHHHH!!! Second, bad news: the 3rd book, titled The Burning Maze comes out.....*winces* May 1, 2018. Waaah! By the way the date is subject to change since it's so far off. Who knows, it might even end up being later :(

I recently just finished the Scarlet Pimpernel, and I really enjoyed it! It was old, but not too old to be dry and confusing. I would give it 4 stars, and recommend it for readers 12+ because it's just kinda old.

LOVE The Scarlet Pimpernel. I read it basically in one afternoon.

I finished The Luck Uglies: Fork Tongue Charmers last Monday. So. Stinkin. Good. ***** I would say 11+ for mild gore, dark scenes, and suspense.

Summary: A great fantasy, I really enjoyed it. I would write one a summary, but this book is so complicated I wouldn't know where to start. I already tried three beginnings, and they just didn't work.

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones. It's quite noticeably different from the movie, in a more or less neutral way. According to the author's interview thing in the back of the book, a lot of girls want to marry Howl. I can't imagine why.

Sophie Quire and the Last Storygaurd by Jonathan Auxier ***************

This is the second book in the series, so read Peter Nimble and his Fantastic Eyes first! They're both so good, and now I'm mad Jonathan, because I don't think there's going to be another book in the series. >:(
