Chatterbox: Blab About Books

The Ultimate CB Book Log
Have you read...

Have you read a book recently?

Enter its name here. This is the 2017 Ultimate CB Book Log. Well, technically starting in 2016, but who cares?

This is a place for us to keep a huge, giant log of books, both for ourselves, and also so other CBers can see what we're reading. Everytime you finish a book--whether you've read it or not--put its name and author here. You don't have to talk about it or anything...you just type in its title. We can discuss books here if you want, but it's not required.

Have fun!

I think this is a great idea, Owlgirl!

Keeper of the Lost cities - shannon Messenger
The selection - Kierra cass
The hunger Games_- suzanne collins
The Penelope Treadwell Mysteries  - ?
The Trials of apollo - Rick Riordan
I've also read almost all of James Olliver Curwood's books ( My mom owns almost the complete set). They have a little bit of romance, a little bit of adventure, and always a great plot twist near the end.

You might be, at the moment. Sometimes I have to take a break from reading, just because. Now I'm getting back into it. I have just started reading 'Snow like Ashes' by Sara Raasch.

I finished reading the Keeper of The Lost Cities series for the 3rd time through. I reccomend it to everyone! Fun, easy-read series with enough emotion to keep you interested but not too much heart.

I also read Winter from the Lunar Chronicles (YAY! HAPPY ENDING!)

and The Mark of the Dragonfly, which was WAY better than I expected it to be. I especially liked the worldbuilding. I reccomend this to anyone as well! Another easy-reader, this one full of spectacular but subtley introduced worldbuilding.

And then I read A Tale of Two Cities.

Oh. My. Staff-weilding. Gandalf.  IT WAS SO GOOD! The ending was SO SAD. I reccomend this book to older kids who love classic romance, history, and poetical writing. You can read the poem I wrote for it on the most recent round of the poetry contest.

Right now, I'm reading Castle in the Air (which is great for a sequal), Emma (which is charmingly witty), and Reflections on the Revolution in France (which is dull in content but the backstory to it is intriguing). I'm also listening to Heartless, which so far is just getting more and more despondant with every chapter starting with one. For some reason, I love it.

The Vampyre and Other Macabre Tales, a collection of short Victorian horror stories. Mostly not all that scary.

Hattie Big Sky ****

I finished this a couple weeks ago. It was really good, a historical fictuon set in the time of WW1, about a sixteen year old, Hattie, who inherits a claim from her uncle in Montana. I would give this three and a half to four stars, because, although it was a good story, the ending was pretty. Darn. Sad. At least to me. I won't say any more for the sake of spoilers. I would recommend this to anyone who likes Historical Fic/A little romance/Books set in the time of WW1 and who doesn't mind a little violence.
