Heart wrenching quotes
Okay, so I...
Okay, so I was just reading WOF for the third time or so and I came to this sentence:
I did it. I told her. And the world didn't collapse.
And I be like OH MY GOSH THREAD YUS so here's this thread for the posting of little tidbits of books that make you go "Awwwww, so sweeeet!" inside. Please say which books they are from. :)

Spoiler: he didn't. Which made it just as heart wrenching in my opinion.
Basically she says that and (again rough translation sorry)
"She tried to smile once more and died."
So yeah. KILLS ME.

@GW I think you got the best one out there... Poor Peter....
I don't know if this counts, but in a book I kinda-writing, there are six people and they're all intershipped, but one dies, so during his death scene- "Willow- I'm sorry," Isaac whispered, like it took every bit of him to say it. "For what?" Willow choked. She was crying- hard Willow, sly Willow, feirce Willow who's heart could resist any emotions, was crying. "For loving you," rasped Isaac, just as all the life left his body.
I might just make myself cry...

“Leaves on the vine, falling so slow, like hollow shells, drifting in foam, little soldier boy, come
marching home, brave soldier boy, come marching home...”

I know a whole bunch of books that have heart-wrenching quotes, but I can't make myself go find them. I am a lazy person. Soon.

From Star Wars Jedi Apprentice: The Ties That Bind:
When he released her, her body could not stay upright. She seemed to fold into his arms like drifting silk. Odd, because he had always counted on her strength. Now he felt the softness of her hair, her skin, the lightness of her bones. . . . Tears sprang to his eyes at the way one of her hands curled weakly around his neck.
There's a lot of angst in this series. I'll probably be back when I find the next book...

"'I think as a human being,' she retorted hotly. 'Men don't think any differently from women-they just make more noise about being able to.'"
-The Woman Who Rides Like a Man by Tamora Pierce
Okay, that isn't actually heart wrenching, but I loved it anyway.
This next one I don't actually remember the specific words for...
ALSO HUGE SPOILER ALERT FOR CODE NAME VERITY
..."and she heard my loud, fear of gunshots sobbing and she sort of relaxed all over... 'KISS ME, HARDY! KISS ME, QUICK!' and she turned her head away to make it easier... I shot her in the head and I sobbed..."

’Who must do the hard things? She who can.’ -Guardian Of The Green Hill

Ah, that story is always so sad...
My siblings and mom, for some reason, did not interpret it as such.
