In other words,

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

CB Author Interviews AKA Author of (every other) Day!
In other words,...

In other words, a way for us to flatter each other immensely.

A lot of big shot writers- and debut authors and Other Authors- get interviewed and those interviews sometimes make it to a publisher's website, fansite, YouTube, TV sometimes, etc. etc.

Well, now it's time for the authors of the ChatterBox to get star treatment!

Every other day, someone will get picked to be Interviewed. Fellow CBers will post 3 questions i.e. Why did you start to write? and then the Author of (every other) Day will answer them (for their alloted 2 days of CB Stardom!). And then after their 2 days are over, they'll choose someone else to interview (or they could let me choose since I have too much time on my hands... *hinthint*)! And repeat repeat repeat. This is a good way to get everyone prepped and ready for their future real-life author interviews. And it's also fun. And flattering.

Try to pick someone who posts frequently, since they only have two days to answer des questions. (an easy way to do this is to click "Last Reply" on the thread twice so you can see who posted recently_

Now lettuce begin!

Let's start with... (*searches Inkwell and BaB for frequent post'er*)

SC!

From the information that I can gather in a few seconds, the intelligent SC is a frequent post'er on RPS. She is currently a part of the Deaderlands RP (which she also started) in which she plays/writes as Peter Pan. She is also part of the RP started by the phenomenal ARPS which currently has no title. She writes as Juliet Butler in said RP. There is a countless number of other RPs and RRs which she is a part of and/or started.

She was a participant- and winner- of the 2011 NaNoWriMo. Her hobbies include the delicate and renowned art of Running Like a Maniac, playing the piano and chorus. The music she novels to includes: New Divide and Famous Last Words, and the music she listens to when she is not novel'ing includes Muse, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and- occasionally- Greenday. She currently lives Somewhere In the Universe but also vacations to Narnia on occasion.

Her works include but are not limited to:

The Guardian Angiks of Demok High (a novel written for NaNoWriMo)

Endeyrory Pracea also known as Endey the Slayer in An Untitled Dragon RP (started by the amazing Tiffany W.)

Cartmer Tylara Animesti Tasbreeyard vika'Drom in New Character Lounge (which she also started)

Hephaestus in Mythology RP (started by the ever-so-smart Choco)

Nyx in Mythology RP

Shade Chase in Put-Your-Character-In-A-Room (started by the amazing Quintus) Shade Chase was also featured in another Character Lounge

Dante Rossi in Steampunk Fantasy Circus That Definitely Didn't Copy The Night Circus By Erin Morgenstern (started by yours truly)

Q&A Time!

(try a minimum of 3 for Maximum Flattering but more is always appreciated I'm sure)

Q: When did you start writing?

Q: Who is your favourite character that you have written? Including both original fiction and RP characters.

Q: Which character that you wrote would you say is most like you?

(sneaking in an extra few questions)

Q: Which character that you didn't write would you say is most like you?

Q: If you could write a story of your life, what would be the title?

And I probably stole half those questions from some interview or English worksheet. ;)

Now let the games begin!

(and if you were wondering, when I do my research, I do my research well) ;)

Q: What are your thoughts on your characters eating cheese puffs?

Q: What's the most outrageous thing you have ever written?

Q: If we were at a school dance, and I asked your favorite male character you have created to dance, what would he do?  (Remember: I am a girl.)

I'm honored Olive.

Notes on the music: It changes rather frequently, but now I'm obsessed with Arcade Fire and 30 Seconds to Mars, though I still listen to everything else. That will change, soon. At this exact minute, it's Bliss by Muse and next up is Abraham's Daughter by Arcade Fire.

On to the important stuff!

Q: When did you start writing?

A: Uh... I'm pretty sure preschool. I think I was writing before kindergarten. I hope so.

Actual Answer: Sixth grade. I had these three teachers for Research, Writing, and Reading, and they all worked together so basically it was all three. But for each day we were in Writing, the teacher had us "freewrite" for 5-10 minutes. I started with something that suspiciously seemed a lot like the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. Eventually I stopped that, and then began the tentatively named "The Speed of a Shadow" featuring Myla Saurini, Jesse Anderson, and Shade Chase. Shade was originally meant to be a psychopath who ended up changing sides and nearly destroying them, but she evolved in my brain to something... else. Something a little bit nicer and with a lot more history. And I've been writing The Speed of a Shadow, on and off, ever since.

Q: Who's your favorite character?

A: Ach, this is a hard one. A really hard one. Several of them: Z vika'Swirelin, from the Guardian Angiks of Demok High, Scarlet Mariana Goodfellow Hood, from an unnamed book that I call Scarlet for the time being; Thanskyder Talorian, from the Hunger Games RP; Ketira Rizlakadesh, from Mercy; and Kon, from Kon.

Q: Which character would you say is most like you?

A: That's even harder. I honestly have no idea. Who can I identify with? Definitely Kon. Kon isn't like me because he goes arounds in all children's dreams trying to make them believe, and he's been around since there were children. I'm not exactly like him, but I feel like I identify with him even though that story that actually just exists in my head so far. The general idea is this: there's a boy, maybe five or six, and one night he falls asleep and has this absolutely fantastical dream, stuff that he's never heard of, stuff that he doesn't yet have the capacity to imagine. And basically Kon has to make him believe... and all this other stuff that I don't understand. Yet. But Kon is about believing that things are possible, that the world can be good, believing that you'll be all right, and just plain old good believing.

Q: Which character is the least like you?

A: This is even harder. But, I guess, Kyder Talorian. Just because.

Q: If you could write a story about your life, what would be the title?

A: Thinking That the Space Outside the Box Has Seven Different Dimensions

Q: Who is the author that you most admire?

Q: What's the hardest part of writing for you?

Q: Who is the villain that you're most proud of?

submitted by Tiffany W.
(April 7, 2012 - 1:28 pm)

Notes: Totally forgot Endey as one of favorite characters.

Also, story of life: I Swear the Inside of the Box is bigger than the outside. Something about boxes, at least.

Q: What are your thoughts on your characters eating cheesepuffs?

A: Hey! Guys! Look at me, over here! Yes, me, sitting at the computer. Do please share those cheesepuffs, or I will set many obstacles in you path, including but not limited to, a floor of marbles, a pyramid, and sixty dragons.

Q: What's the most outrageous thing you've ever written?

A: The Speed of a Shadow. I took like 3 completely different mini ideas and one big idea and smushed it together. So you have your psychopaths, your rebellion, your flying people who can shoot stuff out of their hands, your really complicated families, your people who aren't sure where their moral compass is, your occasional zombie...etc. etc. etc.

Q: If we were at a school dance, and I asked your favorite male character you have created to dance, what would he do?

A: Considering that Kyder is 14, he'd dance, Kon is infinitely old, because he's from before there was Time, but Time has been around forever, so... bit of a paradox. Believe in impossible things.

A: Kyder Talorian: Um... okay. Sure.

A: Kon: Absolutely. By the way, where did all the flying cupcakes go?

A: Endey: (before he met Draco) Of course!

A: Endey: (after he met Draco) Can't. Sorry. Running away from people. Bye!

A: Endey: (after he fell in love with Draco). Can't.

SC, your two days are almost over! (I sound like a gameshow host, woe is me...) Would you like to choose the next CB Author or do I get to choose? *smiles like little puppy*

Q: Who is the author that you most admire?

That is a very hard one. I think I'll go with Michael Scott, because the way he set up the Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel was... wow. And because I like Scatty. And Joan. Billy is my favorite, though.

Q: What's the hardest part of writing for you?

There are three really hard parts of writing for me. One, keeping track of everything. For instance... what exactly did I name that city and who exactly comes from there and does it even exist and what significance does it have and where exactly did I make the kidnappers go? Two, finishing. I'm bad at that. Three, keeping a steady storyline. I make some connection that I didn't realize before and I decide that I like this one character so much that I'm actually going to keep them around instead of having them sacrifice themselves heroicially for the rest of the good guys. Or bad guys, depending on which side their on. It keeps changing in my head, and I have never written out an outline, so slightly problematic.

Q: Who's the villian that you're most proud of?

RLTY. It's from the Kon story that actually doesn't have a word on paper or computer yet. Standing either for REALTY or REALITY, it's one nasty villian company thingy. But I know they've got awesome airships that are vaguely steampunk.

As for actual villians, Luxuria Salman from the Hunger Games RP. I liked her, then didn't like her, then killed her off, and now don't know what to think of her.

I would say Endey, because he's a dragon slayer, but they're kind of the heroes.

Oh, right, sorry! I had a few other competitions (finally placed third at the fourth and last one) and a piano exam on Wednesday (!!!!).

Anyways, the Author Of Every Other Day is... Melody!

Besides being the first person to reply to this thread, Melody is also a frequent post'r on the Chatterbox and spends her time just being awesome. She likes to ride her bike, play Just Dance 3, and cook. She is also Blackberry E.'s best Chatterbox friend, much to the jealousy of others. Her works include:

Hans Christian Andersen in Deaderlands RP (by SC)

Athena in Mythology RP (by Choco)

Poseidan also in Mythology RP (by Choco)

Rena Kiltan in a boarding school RP

Madison "Sonny" Jefferson in Academy for Special Children

And questions!

(three or more please and thank you)

Q: Are you working on any original fiction projects right now? If so, what are they? (And yes, that's one question)

Q: RPs or RRs?

Q: If you had to have dinner with anyone who is or was on this planet (or any other planet) who would it be? "Fictional" people/creatures are accepted as well since we all know that they exist somewhere and that everybody else aren't special enough to accept that. :p

1. If you could go into any book for a day, which one would it be?

2. Who's your favorite RP/RR character?

3. If you described your life in six words, what would those six words be?

4) How do you kepp yourself motivated to write?

I've got some!! Go Melody!!

1. Out of all of the books you've written, which one would you want to become a best-seller and turned into a movie?

2. What is your secret talent?

3. If you could ask a ridiculously successful and famous author one question, what would it be, and who?
