In other words,

Chatterbox: Blab About Books

CB Author Interviews AKA Author of (every other) Day!
In other words,...

In other words, a way for us to flatter each other immensely.

A lot of big shot writers- and debut authors and Other Authors- get interviewed and those interviews sometimes make it to a publisher's website, fansite, YouTube, TV sometimes, etc. etc.

Well, now it's time for the authors of the ChatterBox to get star treatment!

Every other day, someone will get picked to be Interviewed. Fellow CBers will post 3 questions i.e. Why did you start to write? and then the Author of (every other) Day will answer them (for their alloted 2 days of CB Stardom!). And then after their 2 days are over, they'll choose someone else to interview (or they could let me choose since I have too much time on my hands... *hinthint*)! And repeat repeat repeat. This is a good way to get everyone prepped and ready for their future real-life author interviews. And it's also fun. And flattering.

Try to pick someone who posts frequently, since they only have two days to answer des questions. (an easy way to do this is to click "Last Reply" on the thread twice so you can see who posted recently_

Now lettuce begin!

Let's start with... (*searches Inkwell and BaB for frequent post'er*)

SC!

From the information that I can gather in a few seconds, the intelligent SC is a frequent post'er on RPS. She is currently a part of the Deaderlands RP (which she also started) in which she plays/writes as Peter Pan. She is also part of the RP started by the phenomenal ARPS which currently has no title. She writes as Juliet Butler in said RP. There is a countless number of other RPs and RRs which she is a part of and/or started.

She was a participant- and winner- of the 2011 NaNoWriMo. Her hobbies include the delicate and renowned art of Running Like a Maniac, playing the piano and chorus. The music she novels to includes: New Divide and Famous Last Words, and the music she listens to when she is not novel'ing includes Muse, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and- occasionally- Greenday. She currently lives Somewhere In the Universe but also vacations to Narnia on occasion.

Her works include but are not limited to:

The Guardian Angiks of Demok High (a novel written for NaNoWriMo)

Endeyrory Pracea also known as Endey the Slayer in An Untitled Dragon RP (started by the amazing Tiffany W.)

Cartmer Tylara Animesti Tasbreeyard vika'Drom in New Character Lounge (which she also started)

Hephaestus in Mythology RP (started by the ever-so-smart Choco)

Nyx in Mythology RP

Shade Chase in Put-Your-Character-In-A-Room (started by the amazing Quintus) Shade Chase was also featured in another Character Lounge

Dante Rossi in Steampunk Fantasy Circus That Definitely Didn't Copy The Night Circus By Erin Morgenstern (started by yours truly)

Q&A Time!

(try a minimum of 3 for Maximum Flattering but more is always appreciated I'm sure)

Q: When did you start writing?

Q: Who is your favourite character that you have written? Including both original fiction and RP characters.

Q: Which character that you wrote would you say is most like you?

(sneaking in an extra few questions)

Q: Which character that you didn't write would you say is most like you?

Q: If you could write a story of your life, what would be the title?

And I probably stole half those questions from some interview or English worksheet. ;)

Now let the games begin!

(and if you were wondering, when I do my research, I do my research well) ;)

And I just realized that I forgot to italicize Gwynne's questions... *headdesk*

1: Think of a random character you created... I'll wait...

OK, now describe their left foot.

Chloe Danaub. Her left foot is size 5-6 and there is no nail polish because that wasn't invented at the time (19th century)

2: Do your characters like cheese normally?

No. I don't delve into food often unless it's to show hunger or salivation. And I hate cheese unless it's on pasta and what I write somewhat reflects myself...

3: What is the role play you are in that you are most proud to belong to?

That's a very hard question because I can't keep track of all of them. ;) I would say the night-circus-esque one because I love The Night Circus. And yes, that does sound conceited. hehe...

APC says 'KAPA'! Kappa Mikey! Yeah! I never watched that show but it was on during my childhood years which was a year or so ago...

I have questions for Olive!Laughing

Q: When do you write?

Q: How often do u write?

Q: Who is your fav book character and why?

Q: (just for fun) If you could be like a toddler or infant, what age would you be?

Q: When do you write?

After school < after homework < after piano < after dinner < after little brother goes to bed. ;) Also during the weekends and school breaks, but because one of the laptops broke, that probably won't occur as frequently now. :/ So pretty much whenever my brother isn't using the computer.

Q: How often do u write?

On some days I don't right at all because, "Today I don't feel like do-ing a-ny-thing." But most days I write.

Q: Who is your fav book character and why?

... There are so many. I can't remember most of their names really. I guess it would either be Cassa- she's a shapeshifter from NaNo2011 (I wrote two NaNos and she's from the uncompleted one) and she's pretty fun to write. She's a villain-ish because of course there's no real sense of who's good or bad because my mind is very muddled. There's also Mr. Japenga from my BZRK-esque phase- he's also a villain-ish and is very interesting to explore.

Q: (just for fun) If you could be like a toddler or infant, what age would you be?

Infant. The ability of jumping out of cribs will be minimized. ;)

Yay Olive!!! :)

1. You've mentioned piano exam on this thread. Do you play piano in competitions or you do you go to a music school because I've never had a piano exam before...

2. Has your writing ever been featured in a magazine?

3. If you could live in the setting of a book for a week, which setting would this be?

Thanks!

1. You've mentioned piano exam on this thread. Do you play piano in competitions or you do you go to a music school because I've never had a piano exam before...

Both! I take piano lessons once a week for 45 minutes and do 4-5 competitions a year in preparation for my exam.

 2. Has your writing ever been featured in a magazine?

Sadly, no. :( But that WILL change soon! :D (one can always dream anyway)

3. If you could live in the setting of a book for a week, which setting would this be?

It's a toss between the Capitol during the first THG and the Potterverse after all seven books. Anyway, thank goodness most of the books I read don't have very nice settings...

A good place for young writers to begin is in our Cricket League contests!

*raises right hand* I solemnly promise to italicize all questions from here on out. ;)

 1. If you could become a character of yours, which would it be?

This. Is. Hard. I guess it would be Arisa from my current project- one-of-many. Arisa is kind, intelligent and takes care of her younger sister and brother-in-law. And then she takes on an orphaned niece. Also, she went to an Ivy League university- I'm leaning towards Stanford for her- works a very nice job for a company that I have not yet thought up/researched/chosen and lives in "NEW-YORK! CONCRETE JUNGLE WHERE DREAMS ARE MADE OF/ THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN'T DO"

2. If you could become any character anywhere from anyplace, which would it be?

This is freakishly hard. Maybe Astrid from GONE by Michael Grant. Or- of course- Hermione Granger and we all know where she's from.

3. If you could move to a planet, which would it be?

Lorien before the Mogadorians. The planet the Numbers are from in I Am Number Four.

1) Which character in a book you've read do you think is the most like you?

2) Do you like to write about super-natural\impossible things in your stories, or do u like to stick to realistic things?

3) Which do you like more, dystopias or utopias more?

Spammy says: eeep. Ooooo.......kay.

1) Which character in a book you've read do you think is the most like you?

That's hard. I've never really identified with any characters. hmm... Maybe Tris from Divergent. I'm a people-pleaser. Most of the time. And what I say might be the exact opposite of what I'm thinking. What I'm like at home is also very different than what I am at school. (like Abengation and Dauntless)

2) Do you like to write about super-natural\impossible things in your stories, or do u like to stick to realistic things?

I'm not big on supernatural things right now because of Paranormal Activity. -_- But I do explore the impossible-but-soon-to-be-possible concepts most of the time.

3) Which do you like more, dystopias or utopias more?

Dystopias = happy Olive! Utopias = (Perfect + writing) = Mary Sue, Gary Stu, UTOPIAS, and very annoying things. And I could babble on about all the dystopia books I've read that I absolutely love (Divergent, Legend, Hunger Games, BZRK, GONE). I actually love most dystopian novels. I say most because what little I read of Matched was horrible. And I've never read a utopian book whose utopia didn't turn out to be a dystopia.

What is the name you use most often for your charas?

What is the most popular trait in heroes for you?

What is the most popular trait in villains for you?

submitted by Tiffany W.
(April 25, 2012 - 5:41 pm)

My brother will be back to reclaim the computer in a few minutes. I'll try to post the next AoEOD asap.

What is the name you use most often for your charas?

I hate repeating names. It makes me feel weird and self-conscious, especially when it comes to the names of people I know. I also don't reuse names from other characters for the same reason as above.

What is the most popular trait in heroes for you?

BA-ness is always commended. So is realism- basically, as long as the hero isn't a Mary Su/Gary Stu and/or has cheesy dialogue that isn't a joke I'm fine with them. But the real heroes for me are the ones whose motives are good. I can't really think of any specific examples but Katniss Everdeen, of course, volunteered for death in place of her sister. I also like funny heroes.

What is the most popular trait in villains for you?

Realism and good, understandable motives. That hero in the green spandex and you have always been enemies? Most people I know don't spend their life on trying to mess up others.

Hemera, goddess of daylight of Mythology RP (by Choco)

Antéxei-Énan "Énan" of Mythology RP (by Choco)

RR and...It& (with Amy G.)

Q: Who is the biggest inspiration in your life!

Q: Do you have a favourite quote? If so, what is it?

Q: Do you listen to music while you write. If so, what music?
