Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Global Warming is

Global Warming is the talk of the world these days. I was wondering who here believes in Global Warming and who doesn't. I always think that it's interesting to hear other people's views on this hugely contraversial topic.

Please post to say your opinion on climate change!

~Koffee (who believes very strongly in Global Warming!)

I COMPLETELY know what you're getting at, Mary Jo. It is so much more important than obsessing about the climate. After we clear up that major issue then we can worry more about the climate. Also, in my first post on this thread I meant to say "3 billion years", NOT "300 billion years"!

Thank you, Maddy. As Grace said earlier, Catholics think alike.

*applause* Yes!  Even if you don't think Climate Change\Global Warming is a big deal, it won't hurt to take care of the world we live in.  Planting trees, for example, is good for the environment, even if CC\GW isn't an issue.  We need to take care of this earth, for our sakes and for the sakes our grandchildren.  Wouldn't it be sad if your granddaughter didn't know what a tree was?  Or never saw a deer?  It would be a really selfish thing to to, to "use up" this planet all for ourselves.  I think if, at some point, earth can no longer sustain human life, we should go down with our sinking ship.  We shouldn't get a second chance at something as important as life, unless we have learned from our mistakes.

Okay, sorry, I'm getting a little sentimental. :)

*sigh* If only you knew what I was getting at, you might have second thoughts on that would-be 'granddaughter' statement....you might never have that granddaughter.

Exactly, Mary Jo. If we only get one chance at life...

I'm completely with you on this one Koffee.  The world is in trouble and is about to be fried due to climate change and Global warming.  Lego Robotics has taught us a lot about what could potentionally happen if Global Warming got even more out of hand.  WE can all do something to help slow global warming.  Even doing small, little things will help to stop the madness.  Here are some examples:

1. cut back on shower time(please, don't stop taking showers completely!  If everyone did THAT then the  world would reek, not to mention that us humans wouldn't tasty to aliens!!!Mwahahahahahahahah *cough, cough, cough*  sorry, my keyboard was sticking)
2.  Turn off the lights when you leave the room(this saves electricity)
3.  Don't leave the water running when you are brushing your teeth(put tooth paste on your brush, get it wet, turn off the water, brush your teeth, when you are ready to spit turn the water back on and do so)
4.  Instead of having your parents drive you to school, walk to school instead(that is, of course, if you live within easy walking distance(unlike me).  If you don't live within walking distance, then try riding the bus to school)
These are just a few little things you could do.  However, you can also do some more advanced things, such as getting a hybrid car or installing solar technoloogy to your house!

Kake, I'm not sure if that was on purpose, but that was parts of our Lego Robotics speech! Also, to everyone else, we aren't aliens, we're the product of a secret government experiment that took place in Zimbabwe! Hehehehe! Wait, hold on, I've got a screw loose...:D
