Chatterbox: Down to Earth

POLITICS THREAD!!!!!!

POLITICS THREAD!!!!!!

This is a place for us to state, debate and discuss politics!  I encourage everyone to do so rationally and maturely, and would ask that all participants would refrain from abuse, even when in the heat of an argument, and that some of the more mature subjects would not be presented here. The Admins wll not publish any inappropriate comments.

However, I would discourage anyone from participating if they are easily offended, or dislike having their views challenged.

This may not be a popular idea, but I wanted to give people a chance to present their views and discuss the larger issues in our world today. I hope that this idea takes, and that it will also be enjoyable and informative! :)

I will begin by introducing a topic that is curently at large in America, but is also, I believe, appropriate for CB. I would ask the Admins to correct me if I am mistaken. :)

So-- what do you all think about the idea of including women in the military draft?

This thread is now closed for new comments.

I don't like Hillary; some of her policies are actually hurtful to families. I do NOT think women should be drafted; they belong at home with their children.

What's wrong with a wall? If Mexicans want to get into America and have nothing to hide, then they can just ask get in LEGALLY.

If I had to choose between Trump and Clinton-- I wouldn't vote. Please, someone-- tell me in what way Hillary Clinton has HELPED families and America?

Also, if you don't know why you're voting-- DON'T VOTE. Yes, the voting is important, but I don't believe that EVERYONE should vote.  I know I'm sounding like a high-and-mighty bigot, so let me explain. A large part of why the Government is so skewed is because ANYONE can vote. That includes low-IQ, non-working people (against whom I have absolutely nothing).  A Presidential Candidate has only to give one of these people a cell phone call, and they vote for him! So what I mean is-- people who are completely ignorant of Politics of any kind, don't pay bills, and are completely reliant on Government handouts, are still choosing the leader of our nation! I wouldn't vote now, because I simply don't know enough to make such an important decision. (Which actually isn't so important anymore-- the Establishment is pretty much the one who picks out candidates.)

I would like to remind all that this is a debate, and that I am merely stating my views, and do not intend the slightest offence.

Your views?

She says she will lower medicare costs, which in my opinon will help everyone become healthier, and she said that she will expand benefits for widows and time out of the paid workforce to care for a child.

If you don't believe me, google Hillary Clinton, look at the spot on the right side with the pictures and her profile. Below the part where she talks about immigration, click on more issues. Then click on even more issues and find the spot where it says medicare and social security.

In response to your comment:

She says she will lower medicare costs" How, though? It is actually quite expensive to do so, and with literally 19 trillion dollars of debt, we can't afford to just say lower medicare costs and have it be all fine and dandy.

"She said that she will expand benefits for widows and time out of the paid workforce to care for a child." Yes, I agree this can be good, but will she really do it? Will any of the presidential candidates do what they say? We can't know. And many, many people disagree with giving paid maternity leave (which I believe is what you are referring to) which will make it difficult to pass.

Be back later.

I would either vote Libertarian or write in, because I think voting for the lesser of two evils isn't right. (I almost ranted about how much I disliked both of them but remembered rationally and maturely.)

Esthelle, you're being perfectly rational and mature. Do you mind if I try to convince you to not "vote" for Cruz?

I personally would vote for Hillary because I dislike Trump immensely. My opinion is that he is making a lot of impossible, ridiculous promises that he probably wouldn't follow up on and if so would make other countries mad. Again, this is my opinion.

Has anyone heard about that bill in England to keep Trump out if he becomes president?

I don't think women should be drafted, and for other politics?

Rubio or Cruz. I'd be fine with either of them, but I am praying, we do not get Trump or Clinton!
Seriously. Have you SEEN Amy of the stuff about them? Do some research.

I think Cruz is the only one who is worth voting for.                           Clinton lies, and Trump is a jerk.     I wonder what the runners would think if they saw this page.Laughing
