Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Æ ball!
Honored Guests,
It is my deepest and most utmost pleasure to introduce you to the Ballroom resort or, as the staff affectionately calls it, the triple F. Here, you will find three, spectacular buildings, Fun, Fashion, and Fantasy, surrounding our magnificent ballroom. The fun building, for the Æs who are wild, light of heart, and maybe even a bit crazy, is shaped like an enormous bouncy house, and is filled with cake, pie, balloons, "kandy", and anything that an Æ could desire. If an Æ wishes for a bouncy, frilly, flaming, or otherwise Æish outfit, all they have to do is shout their request up the bubble chimny, and it will come falling down in a bag that, for no reason in particular, is fat and jolly. The fantasy castle, made of crumbling stone, soaring towers, and fancy turrets, is a dream come true for the Æs who choose to be knights, dragons, princesses, merry men, enchantresses, or whatever fantasy form you might endeavor to go to the ball as. Filled with fairy godmothers who are ready to conjure up the outfit of your dreams, give makeovers, and gossip, all at the snap of your fingers, is for those who, at heart, are wild, free, and adventures. Yet there are other still who feel compelled towards the fashion building, a tall, modern, steel and a glass round skyscraper that looms impressively into the sky. The interior is comfortable, sleek, and modern, with cloth, thread, sequins, beads, and buttons brimming in multicolored splendor in a closet behind a door in every bedroom. It is for the Æs who with to express their unique personalities through their fabulous clothing, whether that means going to the ball as a diva or an alien.
And then, finally, there is the ballroom. A great, white marble structure, fashioned after the Roman collosium. (Plus a roof) On ball nights, it is lit up with floating lanterns that adorn every hallway. A huge feast is set up in the banquet room, after which Æs will be directed to the main ballroom, to dance under the light of the lanterns.
On non ball days, the ballroom building is available for dancing and or etiquette lessons. You may attend these classes with or without your partner at your leasure.
Each of the buildings (excepting the ballroom) has a girls side and a boys side, and two grand staircases lead down from each side, meeting in a grand foyer. Each building has an extra set of rooms for your enjoyment. What these rooms contain is for you discover.
I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Triple F.
Sincerly,
         ~The Ballroom Master

Before I continue, let me just credit this idea to the "Shadow Worker", with his or her amazing Æ hotel.
Now, down to business.
I'm going to attempt to have the first ball in two weeks. We can start Friday night, and carry on through the weekend. So, everyone, I suggest you begin asking.
This is sort of like an rp; your Æs can explore the extra rooms, and you can invent what they hold, or you can just post on the day of the ball. It's all up to you.
Here's the character sheet. Have fun!

Alright, Bolton, Burt, Beth, and Bombett, you are on your own. I have a rule for each of you:

Bolton-Don't break Anna's heart

Bombett-take care of Beth

Burt-do try and keep offensive comments to yourself

Beth-have courage, and be kind. (anyone catch that Cinderella reference!?)

(Also, a note to Echosong: Burt and Bombett have the same fonts of italics and bold, so i will put in parentheseis or make it really obvious which is which, ok?)

Oh, good, Anna! Let us find out when this ball is... If not soon, we shall have dinner in the garden and dance!

Yes, i will take care of Beth, Daisy. Beth! Let's go walk around and find out where we are.

Alright, Bombett. Let's go. Burt, care to join us? *pointetly ignores Bolton*

No. Don't you see i have better- things- or people- to hang out with? Echosong, as long its not nasty sushi, which is notorius for dieseases and food poisoning, Yes! Let's have lunch. There is a restraunt downstairs. Lunch is on me. *whipsers behind back for Daisy to give him money* What costume are you wearing? I have no idea what I'm going to wear. Maybe we could go as a pair, eh? Our costumes could... match, or go together, or something. *looks on Pinterest*

Hello!

I'm just briefly stopping by to correct a miscommunication on my part. The ballroom is not a place where you can stay, simply a ginormous ballroom that offers dancing and etiquette lessons, as well as the banquet hall (where you can eat dinner instead of in your hotel). I'm dreadfully sorry for any confusion this has caused.

Ask questions any time, and I will do my best to answer them.

Cordially,

~The Ballroom Master

My CAPTCHA says "bmrm" Ballroom Master? Astounding! That's like the most accurate thing you've said!

Ooh, yay, we can start! Hey, Daisy, I'm just going to pretend that Echo and Burt haven't met face to face yet. Hope that's OK!

Also, everyone, I'm sorry if I'm making up to much about this place. Feel free to change anything I said! After all, I'm sure different AEs will have different experiences.

Echosong~

I stare around me, blinking hard. The sun, bright and a bit blinding, shines down over the three, huge buildings that surround the ballroom. Everything looks so.... huge. I feel tiny compared to the enourmous, white marble ballroom, or the grand fantasy castle, or the giant bouncy house looking structure that I'm pretty sure is Fun.....

I turn my attention to the fashion building, and am amazed to see a huge, round, skyscraper, reflecting the sun in its black, mirror like panes of glass. As I walk towards it, I look down to see that the grass I was on a moment before has turned to asphalt. I sigh a little. I'll miss the woods.

I walk through the revolving doors of Fashion, and the sight that meets my eyes takes my breath away. It's so.... massive. I thought that only the sky could loom that high.

Two staircases, made of glass and steel, sweep down elegantly from each side of the building. The girls side is marked by a neat and tidy label, next to some sort of modern art peice. I stare at it for a moment. It resembles a piece of twisted metal.... but I guess art comes in many different forms. Shrugging, I walk up the staircase towards the rooms.

At the top of the stairs, an elevator slides open, and I tentatively walk into it. A calm, female, robotic voice asks me if I'd like my own private suite of rooms, or if I'd like to bunk with someone. I request my own room. A holographic image appears over a touchscreen, displaying several different rooms, and asking me to pick one. I choose a suite of rooms filled with art, a recording room, a huge sewing studio, and a view of the outside. A small keycard shoots out from a slot in the elevator, and the doors slide open, revealing a wooden door. I step out of the elevator, wave my card in front of a scanner, step inside my room, and give a gasp of pleasure.

There is art everywhere, and art supplies take up an entire shelf. A bed sits in front of the reflective window, a huge tv screen is stretched across one wall, and there are a few doors leading into what I'm assuming is the recording studio and the sewing room. I throw my bag down on my bed, and am just about to explore, when my phone gives a small buzz. I pick it up, and see that Shadow has texted me.

There's someone you should meet. He's really good with clothing, and I think you two could go over some ideas. Don't freak out, I'm sure he's nice. I've been talking to his Cber. His name is Burt, and he'll be waiting for you in the cafe in the Fashion building. Or at least, that's what I'm told.

Don't worry, you'll be great!

~Shadowmoon

I groan. Meeting new people.... I stink at this. Oh, well. There's nothing to be done. Resigned to my fate, I begin to slowly walk towards the elevator.

Luna says "wcke" Wacky. Yup. Definitly wacky. Meanwhile, I hope Echo doesn't faint or something.

"Burt, I told Shadowmoon that you'd meet her AE in the cafe, okay?"

What?

Yeah, her AE's super pretty and nice. She's a fan of the music and art.

Hmm. I will see.  *i leave*

*he mutters to self*  let's see... Fashion cafe... Oh my. I walk toward the elevator where a pretty AE with curly, long light brown hair is waiting. "Hi." I say casually.

Here we are. Fantasy. Elves. Crazy. Castle. Knights. Lances. It all goes by in a blur. The castle is made of stone blocks AND silver blocks, and it gleams... it's amazing.

But Princess Icicle is even more amazing. Where is she?

I sigh and walk up to the drawbridge. "WHO GOES THERE?!" A voice rings out. "A seriously awesome kid." I reply. The drawbridge swings open.

Will write more later.

Princess Icicle~

Myself and Rainbow arrive at the Ballroom Resort very early, so that I will,be able to make a good impression when the peasants arrive. I had to do a lot negotiating with my very silly "rational" and "in charge" CBer that went something like this.

My Glorious Self: Rainbow! We must leave this instant! I need to make an impression on the peasants!

My Silly CBer: Oy, Princess, the ball doesn't start for two weeks! Can't we go tomorrow? I have other things to do.

MGS: Rainbow! Either I go NOW, or I don't go at all! Would you like to be the one to console poor Frosty when he realizes that my glorious self is not there?

MSC: OK, I guess you won't go at all then. Too bad, I was looking forward to two weeks without you...

MGS: What?! No! I have to go! I must! For Frosty!

MSC: Alright, we'll head out tomorrow.

MGS: We need to be there today! Impressions on the peasants, remember?

MSC: Princess, the people you call peasants at the other AEs who already have the, um, honor to know you. You don't need to make an impression on them.

MGS: But you'll get rid of me faster...

MSC: You're right--

MGS: Of course I am.

MSSSC: Oh, shut it! We'll leave in 15 minutes.

Now that I am here, I believe that my hard work has paid off. When I have shoved Rainbow away and thrown her a haughty sniff, I throw open the two story high oak doors of Fantasy. They reveal a lobby with torches and chandeliers galore, flickering down on a marble floor with posh armchairs scattered around. In the center of the room are--could it be? Yes!--a row of servants bowing and curtsying to ME! If I were Rainbow, I would scream with glee, but I don't because I am always real and composed. Instead, I give a nod to each of them along with my signature haughty sniff. On my sniffs, they stand up straight in turn. The servant in the middle, a wispy woman with violet eyes, purple-tinged skin, and indigo hair in a neat bun walks a few feet closer to me and curtsies again, revealing a small pair of purple wings on her back, poking out of her grape-colored dress. She stands, dusts off her white apron, and says "Hello, Princess Icicle! My name is Magenta! I am your fairy godmother! We've been expecting you!"

An idea forms in my brain. I cough. "You will address me as Your Majesty."

"Oh, of course, Your Majesty, my apologies." I smile inwardly. "Hello, Princess Icicle, YOUR MAJESTY! My name is Magenta! I am your fairy godmother! We've been expecting you!"

"Yes, yes, very well. Show me to my rooms."

"But of course, Your Majesty! Come right this way, to the wishing well!" She extends her arms exaggeratedly and points to a hallway extending from the lobby, and as I walk in that direction, she, and then my (MY!) other servants follow. We walk down the hallway to a room on the left with curls of pixie dust floating from it. When I enter, I immediately see a pool of water sunk into the floor, ringed with white mushrooms. A thousand or so pixies sit on the edge, their tiny legs in the water. It is lucky that they aren't quite as beautiful as me, or they would surely be punished severely by now!

"Alright, Your Majesty" says Magenta in a voice of mounting excitement, "Now you will choose your rooms!!" She squeals and claps her hands.

"Why are you so happy? It's getting very annoying."

"Yes, sorry, Your Majesty."

Through a marvelous display of pixie dust and magic, the pixies show me a few rooms to choose from. I, of course pick the largest suite, which is filled with silver and diamond decorations and trim. It also has ice sculptures sitting all around, that Magenta tells me "Can! Be! Molded! To! Whatever! Shape! You! Want! Your Majesty!"

I am escorted to the suite, which sits on the highest level of the castle, and Magenta leaves me myself. I consider turning all of the sculptures into the image of myself, but then decided on Frosty, instead. Now my room is filled with riches AND the only AE handsome enough to be my equal...

I'm moving Queenie to Fantasy, where Anna and Princess Icicle are... I want P.I. and Queenie to be either BFFs, or EMEMIES. Like REALLY REALLY REALLY like each other or the opposite. For this post, I'll make them really hate each other, but that might change...

~Queenie

My stupid peasant CBer has made be change to Fantasy. And I was just getting settled down! The gowns and fabrics at Fashion! I'll never forget them... I walk into the main entrance, holding my head up high. Servants! For me! Something I've never seen in this peasant land since I've gotten here. They are all bowing their heads in respect, kneeling down... curtsying... ahh... this is really where I was meant to be. Maybe my stupid CBer isn't so dumb after all.

One of them looks at me, and speaks to me, "Queen Queenie! Queen Queenie! That's your name, isn't it? Well, I'm your fairy godmother, Lavender!"

I snorted, "That's Your Majesty to you! Peasant, going about calling me Queen Queenie... humph!" I suveyed her, secretly pleased. She had lavender skin and violet eyes, and a too cheerful smile on her face.

She looked horrified, "Oh, but there is already someone here called Your Majesty! Would Your Highness work? It would emphasise your youth and beauty!"

Well, wasn't she a good flatterer? "Your Highness it is. And remember that! Now take me to this Your Majesty person. I'm just dying to see some royalty, someone of my rank. I've been among peasants for too long."

Lavender nodded, and scuttled along so quickly that I could barely catch up. That peasant! "Slow down!" I snapped at her, and she obeyed immediately. Humph. She'd do better as a servant than a cheery fairy godmother.

She opened a door on the left, and I saw a pool inside with pixies surrounding it, dipping their dainty legs and feet into the pool. All beautiful, but none as beautiful as me, of course.

Lavender walked over to the largest suite, occupied by the very person I'd wanted to see. Of course, I would have prefered the largest suite, but I had heard that there were ice statues in there. This princess must be crazy. Why would anyone want ice sculptures in her room?

Lavender knocked on the room, and a sharp voice called out for her to come in, "Come in."

Lavender held the door open for me, and I saw a very pale figure, with white hair in a pixie cut! Nothing compared to my golden hair in the newest style, the most elaborate hairdo.

"Are you even a princess?" I asked her, raising my eyebrows, "Your hair is most unladylike!"

She glared, actually glared at me! "And your's is? No one can be as beautiful as I am! I am Princess Icicle, and right now, I am wondering why you are not curtsying!"

The nerve of this girl! "How dare you say that, you rascal? I am higher in rank than you. After all, I am a queen, and you merely a princess. Have you ever learned your manners? I suppose you haven't. Spent all you life in this place, haven't you?"

She stood up, fairly glowing with anger, "You will not speak like this to the princess! SERVANTS!"

Lavender and another fairy godmother appearaned out of nowhere, "Lavender! Get rid of this creature at once! The way she talks! The scoundrel! THrow her out now!"

At the same time, that... thing said the same thing to the other fairy godmother, "Magenta!"

They looked at each other. Lavender wasn't even moving! What was she thinking about? "LAVENDER! MOVE!!!" I shrieked.

"Your Highness, let me take you to your room," She took hold of my hand and half pulled me out of the room, to the room nextdoor.

She left me there, vanishing. The nerve of her! But it was just as well. I'd take care of the Icicle girl later. I looked around the room, nodding in approval. My gigantic bed stood by the window, a bit away, leaving some room between the bed and the window seat. The pillows were silk, and the blankets velvet. Ahh. There was a rose colored canopy around it. Perfect. There were three window seats, all at different angles. One looked down at the ballroom, the other the fashion building I was supposed to stay in, and the third the fun bouncy house, where Anna's crush, Bolton, was staying. Anna wasn't my sister, but she was the kindest and sweetest girl I knew. I loved her like a sister, though the was merely a peasant. She was a beautiful peasant, and it was my theory that she was descended from royalty.

I settled down in a velvet covered rocking chair, looking at the fun building. Was that Anna walking toward it? Oh, yes. Probably to visit her crush. Yes, definetely. I sat there and watched her disappear into the building. Wonder how that will go. Shy Anna, in a building full of lunatics. Of course, her crush was a fine young man, and I approved of him. If I didn't he would be long gone, of course. But other than him, it was building full of madmen. Oh, well. Poor Anna.

I'm escorted to my room--filled with weapons, and comfortable-looking, yet still fierce and medieval. Ice sculptures line the walls. It's amazing, and medieval, and--the doors slide open.

Hey guys, I just wanted to insert an idea here. What if both Princess Icicle AND Queenie have crushes on Frosty? So they can fight over it! Just an idea. -Chilly

Suddenly, the doors slide open. I'm greeted by a boy with blue hair in a small yet tough outfit, with iron bracers. "Hi. I'm Cyan, your elf." "My elf?" "Yeah, we're basically like Fairy Godmothers, but they assign the Elves to boys. Fairy Godmothers are NOT boy things." I roll my eyes. "It would be sooo akward to have a fairy godmother..." I agree. "What do you need?" "What do you recomend?" "We have a sparring area, where you can Spar with extremely realistic Holograms, and/or robots." Cyan suggests. I grin. "Sounds good. Do you have any Wifi for Pokemon go?" "Yeah." I grin. I'm gonna like this place.

Meanwhile, with Chilly...

"Why-did-I-sign-up-for-Fun!?" I scream. I'm getting tossed around, in one of the many pits of items--this one, a pit of pie in zero gravity!!! I roll my eyes. Where's the door, and where's my room!?

Suddenly, I feel hands grabbing me, and someone pulls me out, then squirts whipped cream into my face. Straight. In the eyes. "EE!" I scream, and then I pull my hand back into the Pie pit, and chuck it at whoever grabbed me. It splats on them. I hear a scream and I reach in for a Pie and throw it again before scrambling away.

On the way to my room, I have to put on a pair of mechanical wings, fly straight through the top of the neon-striped GIANT bouncy castle, and find my room, which is in a cloud that rains sprinkles. In there, I meet a boy with green skin. "Hey!" He says. "I'm Cohan, your Imp!" "What does an Imp do?" I ask, confused.

"Make trouble for their owners!" He says, and throws a cake and then a pie at my face. I duck (barely) underneath them and slide on the floor, which is SUPER slippery, and then kick his legs, knocking him to the ground. I summon Ice all around him, encasing him. "I...what..." He gasps. I let him get up, and he immediately sprouts a pair of green wings and flies away.

I turn to look at my room. My bed is on the ceiling, my room is filled with un-matching, eye-hurting nyan colors, and the living room is strangely retro. There's a red button mounted on the wall. I punch the button, and all of the sudden I fall--to the ceiling.

The ceiling is the floor now. I turn to find my dresser, which looks like it used to be a normal, dark oak dresser, until it was attacked by a paintball gun. The bed, however, looks just like my one at home--quartz, with an icicle bed spread. There's a--menu? Tacked to the wall next to it. I stare at it and read for a bit. "Extra-cold Freezie?" I read, wishing I could have one. All of the sudden, the top section of my dresser SHOOTS OPEN and there it is--an Extra-cold Freezie, sitting on a platter.

Of course it makes no sense. it's fun--and magic.

I could get used to this.

Rose-

"This place is ten hours away" Shadow complains. "If you start complaining you'll have to walk home."

I sigh jiggling my prank bag in my lap and getting ready to jump out. Next to me Lightning is examining herself in a mirror and Fire is muttering angrily.

"YOU SERIOUSLY THINK I'M GOING TO STAY IN A BONCY HOUSE WITH A BUNCH OF ÆS WHOSE MIND HAS BEEN AFFECTED WITH LOVE?" He rages. Shadow sighs and pulls up.

"C'mon lets go" I yell ove my shoulder at Fire. There I get a better look at the Æs throwing pies everywhere.

I grin. This will be awesome.

Lightning-

The magnificent glass skyscraper looms above me as I stand at the door of the fashion building. Taking a deep breath I open the door.

The magnificent beauty of it all surrounds me and I start heading upstairs. Then my path gets blocked by a purple-skinned,purple-haired fairy.

"Hello Lightning I'm your fairy godmother Violet!" She chirps. "Let me show you to your room!"

"Ummm okay" I uncertainly say as she leads me upstairs. Then I gasp again.

A gigantic soft bed with a canopy in pastel colors is surrounded by glowing floresent walls. I look around examining the balcony and walk-in closet.

I smile. This won't be to bad.

Fire-

After I dodge the death pit of pies and confetti I find myself hiding in a corner. Fire the future concur of the world is hiding in a corner. I find myself growing softly. I should have some fun here after all...

In seconds flames have started to creep along the house. I grin and continue egging them on laughing evilly.

I smirk. This might not be completely horrible.

@Alexandra

I like the idea of Princess Icicle and Queenie being enemies. How can we make them distinguishably different? Can P.I. be cold, hard, and haughty, while Queenie is an optimist, but more like "I'm royalty so therefore I'll always land on top, lalala"? This is just a suggestion, because right now they seem to be basically the same person.

submitted by OtR
(September 2, 2016 - 8:13 am)

I'm going to second that--I noticed that Queenie and Princess Icicle seemed ABSOLUTELY similar, both using Princess Icicle's "Peasant" statement, and acting SUPER cold.

:P I have a thing for all AEs being unique.

submitted by Icy , age 12!!!, The Forest
(September 2, 2016 - 10:14 am)

Hmmm... They are very similar. Let's see... Oh, I have an idea! Change Queenie's personality completely! Since P.I. is ice powers (right?) I'm going to make Queenie have fireish powers. So she can make fire sprout out of her hands and that's about it.

And she's going to be more childish than P.I. now, less evilish and scheming and cold. Instead of saying "PEASANT!" whenever she's mad at a peasant, she throws 'tantrum' thingys. Like, she starts screaming and thowing things. Only some people can calm her down; her crushes, me (sometimes) and Anna (usually... but not always), for some reason. Anna is just a calming person, I guess. She rules by half making people afraid of her 'tantrums', and half by making people kind of like her a bit, like you would like a really annoying little sister, which Queenie is NOT happy about.

So in P.I and Queenie's rivalry, P.I. will have the advantage of being a good schemer and planner and more cold and haughty, and Queenie will have the advantage of being more likable. How's that?
