Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Æ ball!
Honored Guests,
It is my deepest and most utmost pleasure to introduce you to the Ballroom resort or, as the staff affectionately calls it, the triple F. Here, you will find three, spectacular buildings, Fun, Fashion, and Fantasy, surrounding our magnificent ballroom. The fun building, for the Æs who are wild, light of heart, and maybe even a bit crazy, is shaped like an enormous bouncy house, and is filled with cake, pie, balloons, "kandy", and anything that an Æ could desire. If an Æ wishes for a bouncy, frilly, flaming, or otherwise Æish outfit, all they have to do is shout their request up the bubble chimny, and it will come falling down in a bag that, for no reason in particular, is fat and jolly. The fantasy castle, made of crumbling stone, soaring towers, and fancy turrets, is a dream come true for the Æs who choose to be knights, dragons, princesses, merry men, enchantresses, or whatever fantasy form you might endeavor to go to the ball as. Filled with fairy godmothers who are ready to conjure up the outfit of your dreams, give makeovers, and gossip, all at the snap of your fingers, is for those who, at heart, are wild, free, and adventures. Yet there are other still who feel compelled towards the fashion building, a tall, modern, steel and a glass round skyscraper that looms impressively into the sky. The interior is comfortable, sleek, and modern, with cloth, thread, sequins, beads, and buttons brimming in multicolored splendor in a closet behind a door in every bedroom. It is for the Æs who with to express their unique personalities through their fabulous clothing, whether that means going to the ball as a diva or an alien.
And then, finally, there is the ballroom. A great, white marble structure, fashioned after the Roman collosium. (Plus a roof) On ball nights, it is lit up with floating lanterns that adorn every hallway. A huge feast is set up in the banquet room, after which Æs will be directed to the main ballroom, to dance under the light of the lanterns.
On non ball days, the ballroom building is available for dancing and or etiquette lessons. You may attend these classes with or without your partner at your leasure.
Each of the buildings (excepting the ballroom) has a girls side and a boys side, and two grand staircases lead down from each side, meeting in a grand foyer. Each building has an extra set of rooms for your enjoyment. What these rooms contain is for you discover.
I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Triple F.
Sincerly,
         ~The Ballroom Master
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Before I continue, let me just credit this idea to the "Shadow Worker", with his or her amazing Æ hotel.
Now, down to business.
I'm going to attempt to have the first ball in two weeks. We can start Friday night, and carry on through the weekend. So, everyone, I suggest you begin asking.
This is sort of like an rp; your Æs can explore the extra rooms, and you can invent what they hold, or you can just post on the day of the ball. It's all up to you.
Here's the character sheet. Have fun!
I'm joining late, so ya'll, I might mess up a bit on the story line! Are there any particular established places/routines/extra charries that I should know about? I'm ONLY joining Sam in this. All Wildflower's nonexsistant fans: "Awwwwwww."
Name: Sam Thistle.
Age: Ermmmm...Sam, how old are you?
Sam: How old are you?
Fourteen.
Sam: I'm fifteen, then.
Oh, I forgot, I just had a birthday yesterday, so I'm fifteen.
Sam: I forgot, my birthday's today, so I'm sixteen.
Can't be, you're half a head shorter than me and NOONE would trust you to drive any vehical. Let's stick with 13 3/4.
Appearance: Kind of short (Sam: *magically grows taller*) Okay then, he's kind of tall...
Wildflower: *singsongily quotes* "and he sometimes gets so little that there's none of him at all."
WILL YOU GUYS STOP interupting my character sheet?! Thank you.
So he's a little short for his age, with pretty much the same skintone as me (I look like I went out on the beach all day without sunscreen and somehow avoided getting sunburned), with sky-colored eyes and a mouth that looks permanently pursed without appearing angry. His dark brown hair gets into his eyes a lot.
Personality: He's not naturally shy, he just doesn't talk a lot except to me and maybe Wildflower. If you address him first, however, you can probably squeeze a conversation out of him. He has a well-developed sense of humor which perks up every once in a while, and he likes animals (mostly horses) a lot.
Crushes: Absolutely none.
Fun, Fantasy, or Fashion: Fantasy, what else?
Other: Sam comes from a world full of magic, and can do every day things like turning himself invisible, conjuring things, and a couple other abilities. As for telepathy, flying, and elemental control: no way!
Wildflower: why can't I go to the hotel?
Because you'd just dreamily walk around singing and quoting Shakespeare and famous poems the whole time. What's the fun in that?
Wildflower: Fun? Humph.
I'm going to stay in touch with Sam because it's my job to interfear in his life.
Sam~
Crinkle, crinkle. I unfold the letter from Rose bud and read if for the millionth time.
Deareth Alter Ego,
Go to the ballroom, make some friends, don't die, and I'll see you in the future!
—Rose bud
P.S.
Since you're my alter ego, of course you'll be fashionably late. Just find Echosong and tell her I sent you. She can catch you up on the latest events.
How exactly like her. Of course she left me absolutely no details whatsoever. I shift nervously on my gleaming white pegasus, Windwhistle's, back. Looking at the trees far below, I keep my eye out for a gap or a clearing. Nothing. Leaning back, I snort irratably as Windwhisltle leaps onto a powerful uptdraft of hot air. His stiff, feathery wings rub gently against my legs with every flap. The air is sweltering, and the whispy clouds provide no cover from the relentless sun. "Turn here," I say, trusting my instincts. Windwhistle understands, and we travel on. Just when I think we should have gone another way, I smell smoke. On a hunch, I guide Windwhistle in that direction, and soon see a gentle cloud of the black mist rising above several gigantic structures.
"All right, land in there, AWAY from the smoke," I direct, patting my horse's tense neck,  "I'm sure this is it," I add to myself. As we circle the burning building (Y'all, is it a building or an area or what??? I'm confuzzled. All I know is that there is a fire), I toss the letter from Rose bud towards where I judge the flame is. I really don't want to be here.
You're really behind! The fire had ended a while ago, and the Fun building, where the fire was, was rebuilt and turned into a gumball machine, Fireproof, waterproof, pie proof, and a lot of other things proof. And now, something else is starting. The Imps are planning to destroy all but the Fun building, and Chilly and Bolton have both been dragged in a who knows what has been done to them. Anna had a record and she played it with Echosong and Burt hearing, and they agreed to help and warn other Æs about it. Anna went and told Queenie, then Queenie phoned me about it. So now people are hearing about it and... I don't know what next. And the ball is... this Saturday? I think. Hope that helped!
Thank you, thank you, how very helpful. *Fastforwards until the fire is out and the buildings are fixed* Now, okay...*spins dizzily* I reccomend that you NOT try to fastforward your life! Quite disorienting. Anyways...
Sam~
Someone runs by without looking at me. Windwhistle nudges me in the back, as if to say "go on!" Oh great. It's a girl. That makes it a thousand times worse.
"Hey," I say, grabbing her arm to stop her, what's going on?"
~~~~~

I was thinking this could be Alexandra going to meet her AE or something?

~Frosty

I hear a knock on my door.  I open it--it's Cyan, my cyan-colored elf. I hear that in the Fun building, you get Imps that are solely for the purpose of making trouble for you. (LOOK. ON THE PAGE. BEFORE THIS.) "Hey Cyan."

"F-f-frosty." He stammers. "Anna thought you should know.... y--y-y-your sister is m-miss-s-s-s-sing."

"WHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????"

~Chilly

"Let me GO Cohan!" I yell. "You know our little secret." Cohan says, smiling. "We can't let you go free." "You foul, loathesome, EVIL LITTLE COCKROACH! THAT was for Hemin! Omigosh, I miss her. She was so fun sometimes, although she was a mega-nerd--" "Could you SHUT UP? I hate super talkative little girls!" "I'm not a little girl, I'm Hashtag Ageless!" "FOR THE LOVE OF THE ELDER IMP, SHUT UP!" Cohan yells. "Oh wait, I am the elder Imp."

"No." I say. "Then I'll have to make you shut up." He grabs a gag that looks like it's made out of chaos magic and puts it on my mouth. I'm already bound in every area of my body with chaos ropes--what's next? A blindfold? Someone, help!

Allrighty, then. So sorry I haven't been posting; life is busy.

Echosong~

Burt opens his mouth to respond, when Anna bursts into the room, and inserts a drive into a sound system. I raise a hand to silence Burt, and listen as the evil goblin's plot is revealed. My mind reals with confusion and panic. "Anna, was that.... Chilly?" Anna nods miserably, and the story comes rushing out. I listen with horror, and Burt gives a small gasp. Then, she tells us that we need to spread the word. Burt nods, and we go off to warn the others.

Once outside, I say "Burt, you..... You warn the fantasy castle. I'll take care of Fashion." Burt looks at me, a quizzical expression on his face. "You can handle that?" I take a deep breath, nod, and run off towards Fashion, refusing to look over my shoulder.

Then, as I am running, I feel a hand grip my arm. "Hey, what's going on?" I turn to see the speaker, a shortish boy with sky blue eyes and dark brown hair. I quickly explain. "Could you help spread the word to Fantasy? You look like you'd know your way around, especially with...." I gesture to the pegasus. The boy grins. "Oh, yeah, that's Windwhistle. I'm Sam. I think I'll..... Go now." He grins, then vanishes with a small *pop*. I blink twice, squint for a moment, then continue running for Fashion. If I can find bravery, and imps can go wild, then why can't a boy named Sam and his pegasus vanish into thin air?

In case y'all haven't noticed, I've been changing my location with every post :):):) All the stranger ones are from Eragon.

Sam~

Well that went...exceedingly well! I actually talked to someone...and a girl at that. Of course, I disappeared because I was pretty terified she would start asking me questions, so now I'm invisable, which is probably best. The only thing is, turning invisable takes up a lot of energy, so I won't be able to do anything else magical for a while. Making soft clicking sounds to Windwhistle so he knows my location, I walk towards what I judge is the fantasy building (it has an iredescent shimmer about it, so I'm sure I'm right). Opening the huge door, I step in and...wow. The ceiling is gigantically high, and made of stone. There are several staircases leading up to turrets and towers above. I walk down the main hall, calling "hello? Anybody here?" When I don't get an answer, I walk up the giant grand staircase twirling up into higher levels. At the top of the staircase is a hallway with several doors coming off of it. I knock on one that has light underneath it. Then I look down and remember that I'm invisable. This may be tricky...

Yeah... but I think we should postpone it. We have more pressing issues right now, like the disappearance of Bolton and Chilly and trying to stop the Imp's evil plans. Maybe afterwards we can have the ball.

~Chilly

Cohan removes my gag and bindfold. "You're boring when you don't talk." He decides. "Thanks, loser." Is all I come up with. I need to work on my sass! Come on, sassy Chilly! "I'm the person who decides your future." He reminds me. "It's gonna be bad anyways, if it has you in it." I say, shrugging. "I like your sass." He says. I bite my lip. DARN IT! "Aww, thanks. I don't like your sass--oh wait, you don't have any to begin with." "What does that even mean?"

I summon a shield-shaped patch of ice on my arm, and deflect a pie. "Where am I!?" I ask, furious. My blindfold is off, so where am I? "You're in the arena of whipped cream and pie. A little thing that us Imps dreamed up. So go on, entertain us. We're even providing a combat robot that we stole from Fantasy and changed a bit for you to fight."

~Frosty

"Cyan, where was she seen last!?" I yell. "Who saw her last?!" "CALM DOWN! IT WAS ANNA!" Cyan yells. "And where's Anna now?" "Fashion building." "Thanks, bud." I head towards the Fashion Building. Who knows what I'll find?!

~Chilly

I summon a sword made of Ice in my other hand. A combat droid advances on me--whipped cream gun in one hand, pie launcher mounted on his other shoulder. I block whipped cream with the shield, and slice the pies out of the air as I trek forwards.

~Frosty

I find Anna at the middle of a group of fashion consults, holding a recording. I run towards her, my feet stepping on the classy flooring that is the pride of Fashion. Anna turns towards me. And her story comes out. "All I need you to do is get this recording into the speaker systems--PLEASE!" She begs. "Anything's better than Taylor Swift." I promise.

~Chilly

I slash at the droid with my ice sword and miss, offbalance. He pummels me with his painful, excruciating pain fists--

~Frosty

The speakers are rigged! But the recording is horrifying. What are they doing to Chilly right now!?

~Chilly

I scream and move as fast as possible....

~Frosty

I have to warn Fantasy Building.

~Chilly

And hack the droid to peices.

Who is even in the Fantasy building right now other than me? Oh, and I left Windwhistle outside.

Sam~

The
door opens a crack. It's a little fairy godmother, or so I assume,
because she is sparkling blue all over (even her hair) hovering a few
feet of the floor.

"Hullo?" She says, looking right at me, even though that's impossible.

"Uh...hi. Can you...see me?"

"Of course I can. And I can see that you are ready for your fashion makover."

"What?
No!" I exclaim, "I like these clothes!" But before I was even finished,
a parade of blue sparks explodes from the fairy godmother's wand tip.
Suddenly, I am visable again and sweltering in a knight's full armor,
then, before I can so much as open the visor on the stifling helmet, I'm
wearing something else...something ridiculous and colorful...and then
I'm back in my old clothes, except, they are  different. My jeans are
thicker and more flexable, and all the tears and scrapes are gone. My
t-shirt has turned into sky-blue Harry Potter style robes, and I'm
wearing REAL leather boots instead of tennis shoes.

"Ummmm....thanks," I say, feeling awkward and still gaping at the new clothes, not sure whether I like them or not.

"Oh,
I almost forgot the final touch!" Says the fairy with a friendly
titter. I cringe, thinking about the heavy knight's helmet. But instead
of conjuring something with her wand, the fairy hands me something hard
and cold and flat. A sword. I stare at it for almost thirty seconds
before getting up the courage to ask:

"Why?" For a second, the merry twinkle is gone from the fairy's eyes, and replaced by a stern seriousness.

"It may come in handy." I hope she doesn't mean anytime soon. I look down at the sword. Etched into the handle is a tiny flying horse with jewels for eyes. I shiver. It looks earily like Windwhistle. This sword clearly belongs to me somehow, and I don't like it. When I glance up again, the fairy godmother's pinched and friendly face is smiling again.

"Now, which lucky girl are you taking to the ball?" I am temporarrily struck dumb, and not for the first time in my life either.

"No one! None! I'm...not going," I answer after an excrutiatingly long few seconds.

"Of course you are dearie! I'll fix you up in no time!" And with that scary declaration, she flies away, trailing blue sparks. I realize that the whole room is full of glowing sparks and medival style furniture, with mirrors in every corner. Little fairy-sized doors lead off into different parts of the castle, and different outfits are laid out on the backs of chairs. I must have stepped into the sparkly land of fairy fashion. Quickly, I close the door, leaving the sword inside the doorway. If I truly do need it, I can simply conjure it. Remembering my "mission," I look around, but the castle seems deserted. Or maybe not...listening hard, I distinguish faint foosteps creeping about the castle. Getting nearer and nearer and nearer...

Queenie's in there. And probably her mortal enemy, Princess Icicle, too. And Chilly, sooner or later you and Bolton are going to have to meet up, because you're both stuck in that place.
