Chatterbox: Down to Earth

Æ ball!
Honored Guests,
It is my deepest and most utmost pleasure to introduce you to the Ballroom resort or, as the staff affectionately calls it, the triple F. Here, you will find three, spectacular buildings, Fun, Fashion, and Fantasy, surrounding our magnificent ballroom. The fun building, for the Æs who are wild, light of heart, and maybe even a bit crazy, is shaped like an enormous bouncy house, and is filled with cake, pie, balloons, "kandy", and anything that an Æ could desire. If an Æ wishes for a bouncy, frilly, flaming, or otherwise Æish outfit, all they have to do is shout their request up the bubble chimny, and it will come falling down in a bag that, for no reason in particular, is fat and jolly. The fantasy castle, made of crumbling stone, soaring towers, and fancy turrets, is a dream come true for the Æs who choose to be knights, dragons, princesses, merry men, enchantresses, or whatever fantasy form you might endeavor to go to the ball as. Filled with fairy godmothers who are ready to conjure up the outfit of your dreams, give makeovers, and gossip, all at the snap of your fingers, is for those who, at heart, are wild, free, and adventures. Yet there are other still who feel compelled towards the fashion building, a tall, modern, steel and a glass round skyscraper that looms impressively into the sky. The interior is comfortable, sleek, and modern, with cloth, thread, sequins, beads, and buttons brimming in multicolored splendor in a closet behind a door in every bedroom. It is for the Æs who with to express their unique personalities through their fabulous clothing, whether that means going to the ball as a diva or an alien.
And then, finally, there is the ballroom. A great, white marble structure, fashioned after the Roman collosium. (Plus a roof) On ball nights, it is lit up with floating lanterns that adorn every hallway. A huge feast is set up in the banquet room, after which Æs will be directed to the main ballroom, to dance under the light of the lanterns.
On non ball days, the ballroom building is available for dancing and or etiquette lessons. You may attend these classes with or without your partner at your leasure.
Each of the buildings (excepting the ballroom) has a girls side and a boys side, and two grand staircases lead down from each side, meeting in a grand foyer. Each building has an extra set of rooms for your enjoyment. What these rooms contain is for you discover.
I hope you enjoy your stay here at the Triple F.
Sincerly,
         ~The Ballroom Master

Before I continue, let me just credit this idea to the "Shadow Worker", with his or her amazing Æ hotel.
Now, down to business.
I'm going to attempt to have the first ball in two weeks. We can start Friday night, and carry on through the weekend. So, everyone, I suggest you begin asking.
This is sort of like an rp; your Æs can explore the extra rooms, and you can invent what they hold, or you can just post on the day of the ball. It's all up to you.
Here's the character sheet. Have fun!

I love the plot so far! I feel that, since it is so good, I should add a little...... twist. *smiles* Good luck!

A small bird, made entirely of paper, flaps its wings, and flys down to a small cluster of fashion consultents. Fluttering its wings, it lands in the hands of a girl with long, dark braids. It unfolds itself, and the AE bends over to read it. This is what is printed on the clean, white paper.

Dear Anna,

It has come to my attention that the imps who inhabit the Fun building are determined to wreak havoc on the Resort. As you are probobly aware, this cannot happen, or else the whole purpose of the triple F will be defeated. I would have swooped in with my team of highly professional ninjas by now, if the imps had not cut me off from you. However, I was able to send this letter, and I trust it is in the right hands. Here is what you must do, to save the resort.

In the heart of the Fantasy Castle, there is a chamber. Some might call it a secret chamber or, since it is so secritive, a chamber of secrets. Inside this chamber, you will find a dragon. To get past it, you must find one of Frost to still its fire with snowy cold. Then, you will find a treasure chest, containing the legendary cannon of calm. Only with that will the imp's chaos magic be broken. Only if carried by a winged horse will the cannon move. The chest will only open if the echo of a song is sung in harmony with one who may be changing from hard to softer. Then, once the cannon is positioned, it may ony be fired by a Queen with a commanding tone.

I wish you all the best of luck. You must succeed, for all of our sakes.

Sincerly,

~The Ballroom Master

Far away, the Ballroom Master wonders if she made the right decision by sending the letter. She hopes that she made it clear enough, and that the AEs will finish it soon. She sighs, stands up, and walks out of the room, dress swishing behind her, to watch what happens next on her full-length mirror.

"Mirror mirror, on the wall

Will the AEs have this ball?"

Oh! I posted before I saw this, but I think this plan is way better than mine! Let's just say the things in my post happened, then when they dispersed, Anna got this, called everyone back, and went, "Change of plans, everyone!" In my next post, I'll write about Anna getting this.

So, basically, the people who will go is:

Anna (Leader, kind of, because she got the letter)

Frosty (One with Frost)

Windwhistle and Sam Thistle (Winged horse)

Echosong (To sing the chest open)

Queenie (A Queen with a commanding voice)

And let's tack on Bolton's worried-sick siblings, Beth, Burt, and Bomb, too.

And that's the crew!

Bolton, post something! We all need to know what's happening to you!

~Anna

I tell Frosty to spread the word, and he heads toward the fantasy building. I feel increasingly helpless, knowing that Bolton and Chilly are in trouble with those Imps. Who knows what's happenning with them? I walk outside and look at their lair, wondering how to get in unnoticed, and how to thwart their evil plans.

I hear faint clanking inside, and the screams of the Imps, crazy as ever. I walk over to the tree Bolton and I were talking next to when he ran inside and didn't come out.

~Queenie

I walk out of the Fantasy building after calling Alexandra and telling her to spread the word to other CBers, and see Anna standing by a tree close to the Imp's lair. Is she considering going in? She can't!

I walk over to her fastly, "Anna, you are not permitted to go in there. Queen's orders, so you. Just. Can't!"

She looks surprised, "Oh, no, Queenie, I wouldn't."

I smile smugly, "Of course you wouldn't. Now come with me."

She walks after me hesitantly, looking back at the building, probably worrying about that crush of hers- I think his name was Bolton. I lead her into the Fashion building lobby, where I had gathered Frosty, Echosong, Burt and his siblings, Sam Thistle, Fire, the crazy person who set fire to the Fun building who looks decent, but is still terrible, and his siblings, and their CBers, who probably don't care about the whole thing, but they'd do a lot of good. I just want the whole thing to be over so we can have the ball. I feel so frustrated that I want to throw something, anything, but there'snothing to throw in the Fashion building.

They all look up when we walk in, and Echosong says, "Do you have a plan?"

I don't, and I'm sure not going to go up and say: The queen doesn't know!, so I just blend into the crowd and watch Anna look back at us, as if waiting for us to say something, like we're waiting for her.

~Anna

They all want me to say something. It's like I have to come up with a plan and be a leader, which is something I definitely can not do. And they're all waiting for me to talk.

I feel my face go hot, and I stammer, "Uh, how about, uh, why don't w-we all come up with something t-together?" I gulp, and smile quickly, embarrased.

Beth nods, "Good idea!" And everyone starts talking. I exhale, relieved that I'm not the center of attention anymore, and start thinking of a plan.

We definitely can't just send people in one by one like we did to Chilly and Bolton, unless one of them escapes and tells us what's inside, but we also can't just stay out here and wait for them to go out with their plan and do who knows what to Bolton and Chilly! We could all charge in, but we don't know what we're up against, so that's not a very good plan, but... oh, I just don't know what to do!

We have an element of surprise if we do some things, so we should use it, but we should also make the Imps confused. Maybe we should just focus on getting Bolton and Chilly out, first, so they don't know we know more about what they're planning. Yes, that seems like a good plan. Then we can gain information from Bolton and Chilly about the inside of their lair, and maybe make a map of it. I open my mouth to say it, but words won't come out. I can't speak to the whole crowd again!

I walk over to Queenie and nudge her. She looks up from her conversation with Frosty, annoyed that I'm interrupting her conversation with someone she kind of likes, who apparently likes her nemisis, Princess Icicle, who, in my private opinion, is a bit too haughty. She doesn't acknowledge me, so I don't really know her that well.

"What?" She snaps at me, and I pull her aside.

"Queenie... I think I might have a plan."

Queenie nods, "Then share it, for goodness sakes!" She raises her voice, and before I can shush her, she declares, "Anna has a plan! Listen up, on the queen's orders!"

I groan inwardly as all eyes turn to me again, and some of them are so hopeful that I can't help blushing, "Um..." I look at Queenie for help, but she's already disappeared into the crowd and is looking at me like all the others, no help at all.

I swallow, then take a deep breath, "W-we should focus on getting them- Chilly and Bolton- out first. T-then they can t-tell us about the inside. The inside of their l-lair, I mean." Beth smiles at me encouragingly, and I continue, "Then the Imps won't know that we know some of their plans. They'll think we only k-know and care about the prisoners. And they'll lower their guard m-more."

Finally, I'm done, and I take a deep sigh of relief, "And that's my plan." I stay there for a second, unsure, then a roar of agreement rises, making me smile shyly, blushing fiercely. I blend back into the crowd and Queenie smiles, "Let's follow the plan now! How do we get them out?" And there's a silence as everyone thinks about it.

Queenie~

I must admit, I am quite impressed. But there's one flaw, and I state it, "How do we get them out?" The room goes silent again and people think. I, myself, think it's quite hopeless, but then a voice calls out, "I know!" And all heads turn toward the speaker...

~~~
I actually have no idea what's goign to happen, but some one else can think of something and be 'the speaker'!
So the Ballroom Master's plan is it now? Awesome. Just one problem. If we get the prisoners--Bolton and my sister--out, the Imps will NOT lower their guard..these highly proffesional ninjas better work. Anyways, this is what she said--
In the heart of the Fantasy Castle, there is a chamber. Some might call it a secret chamber or, since it is so secritive, a chamber of secrets. Inside this chamber, you will find a dragon. To get past it, you must find one of Frost to still its fire with snowy cold. Then, you will find a treasure chest, containing the legendary cannon of calm. The chest will only open if the echo of a song is sung in harmony with one who may be changing from hard to softer. Then, once the cannon is positioned, it may ony be fired by a Queen with a commanding tone.
Frost! That's me! I have snow powers! I can do it!! And it says "Frost" not "Ice" or "Chill". This is the job for me! Next, Sam's pegasus! And THEN, Echosong! And THEN--either Queenie or Princess Icicle. This is PERFECT!!
Uhh, ummm, P.I, Queenie is right. It did say Queen--but that detail doesn't really matter. It could simply be referring to Royalty.
Probably Queenie, because it said a Queen, not a Princess. And here's Anna's post.
~Anna
Walking away from the meeting, I feel like there's a flaw in my plan, but I don't know what. I stop, thinking, as a paper bird flutters toward me and drops to the ground underneath my feet.
I bend down, my braids swinging, and pick it up, unfolding it. I read it, and my eyes go wide. A secret chamber... a Cannon of Calm... Oh, wow. This is perfect.
I run over to Alexandra, who's talking with Daisy, Beth, and Queenie, "Look!" I show them the letter, and their eyes go wide, too.
Daisy says, "This is perfect! Let's go on this quest, then!"
I nod, but then I think of the others, "We should tell everyone, and the ones who won't go will stay and try to hold off the Imps."
Everyone nods, and a few minutes later, everyone is gathered in Queenie's room in the Fantasy building. I read my letter, and Queenie commands, "Listen up. The people who will go on the this quest is me, the Queen with a commanding voice, of course. I definitely have a commanding voice. Everyone knows that. Frosty, the wonderful frost person, Sam Thistle's horse, I think her name was... Windwhistle. Yes, and Echosong. That's four people, including the horse."
Cries of protest broke out, and everyone cried, "I want to go, too!"
Beth said, "Anna should go, as the leader! She was the one who got the note."
I blush, and smile at her gratefully, as Queenie considers this, "Yes, I think so. We do need some calm and order in this grand quest that we shall definitely succeed in. Yes."
I smile, then speak up quietly, "Beth should go too, and Burt and Bomb. They're brother has been taken captive with the Imps, and I don't think they'd like to stay here, and just... just wait."
People nod in agreement with me for the second time that day, when Rosebud says, "Sam should go too. I doubt Windwhistle would cooperate without him."
"Yes... I think that's a good plan." Daisy nods.
"Can someone list who's going and not going? You're all making my delicate and beautiful head spin around and around. Plus, we're in some warthog's room!" Princess Icicle whines, spread out on the window seat.
"I am not some warthog, you crudely built snowman! Oh, wait, you're not even good enough to be a snowman!" Queenie cries out in protest, glaring at her.
Before they start attacking each other, I step in between them, "Stop! I'll list who's going. Me, Queenie, Frosty, Echosong, Sam Thistle and Windwhistle, Beth, Burt, and Bomb. Right?"
People nod, then Princess Icicle cries out in protest, "NO! I will not have my darling Frosty going without me! Who knows what you peasants could turn him into?!"
Queenie starts to say something, but Beth stops her, "Well, the rest of us need to stay and fight. I'm sure we could use your icy powers. Plus, the people going on the quest have to be as few as possible. We can't just have the whole crew storming into the secret heart of the Fantasy building! Think of the dragon!"
P.I. rolls her eyes, but relents, "Yes, you bunch of pitiful peasants sure could use some of my help with those Imps!" But she still looked angry.
I nod, and CBers say their goodbyes to the leaving Æs. Alexandra comes over to me and Queenie, and wraps us in her embrace, slightly tearful, "Stay safe, my dear Æs. Goodbye!"
"Bye, my CBer! Of course we'll stay safe. We have the magnificent Queenie!"
Alexandra rolls her eyes, and I say, "Good-bye. We'll stay safe. I promise."
As I remember the promise Bolton made me, I wonder how trustworthy promises really are. Is he really safe and okay in there? Probably not. I really hope he keeps that promise and comes back... safe and sound.
Alexandra hugs us one more time than walks away to organize the army to fight the Imps. Soon, all that are left are the nine, including Windwhistle, who are going on the quest. There is an awkward silence, then Frosty asks, "So... how do we find this secret chamber?"
That's a good question. The Ballroom Master didn't exactly state that in the letter, but she did say that it was in the heart of the Fantasy building, "Um... it says it's in the heart, so maybe we should head to the middle of this building?"
Echosong nods, "Good idea. How many floors are there?"
"Uh... I think it was a hundred."
Echosong nods, "Perfect. Let's head to floor fifty. That's the middle floor."
Everyond agrees, and we head toward the elevators. Fortunately, no one is in the main lobby to ask what eight Æs are doing with a flying horse in the elevators.
~~~

I was thinking that maybe there could be underground floors, too. So the 'heart' would be underground. But it could actually be a pulsing heart, so when they are in there, they would feel pulsing all around them. And underground could be where all the elves and fairies and magical creatures that are upstairs in the day live, except there are much, much more of them. And that on the fiftieth floor, there is a secret-ish elevator that would take them underground. Thoughts?

So... I've been reading this. I'm a bit lost though. Is this summary correct?:

Bolton has gone into the caves, promising Anna that he'll be fine. He hasn't returned. (Why'd he go into the caves? To save Frosty? The Imps are in the caves, right? What do they do? Cause chaos? So they would... do what with Bolton? Why would, or what would, they kidnap for?)

The rest of my AE'S, Beth, Burt, and Bombett, are doing what at this time? Going in after them? Trying to figure out what to do, with Anna planning this?

Sorry I'm so behind.

Umm, no, he's in one of the Imp buildings. They live in a cluster of crazier-looking-than-doctor-suess's-buildings clustered around Fun.

Chilly went towards the Imps building--I forget why--and discovered that they, with their chaos magic, are trying to destroy every building and turn it all into fun. Chilly recorded this. But, in the end, she revealed her hiding place and they chased her. She quickly asked for help in the recording, finished it, and chucked it at the two nearest AEs--Anna and Bolton. Bolton went in after her, and he hasn't come out.

The rest of the AEs are banding together to find the Cannon Of Calm and fight the Imps.
