I wasn’t really sure what to call this thread, but I’ve had this idea floating around in my head for awhile now. Basically, anyone can post anything here. Any random thought you have, any random thing that happens to you, any random question that pops into your mind. Have fun, and don’t be afraid to be random.

Gah, I'm stressed. My violin recital this Sunday and I just learned that the literal best student in my studio is playing the same piece as me (Bach Partita #3). I'm going to sound horrid in comparison to her, ahh...

Ah, I feel you. I have a friend who also dances, and for fun we both choreographed a dance to the same song, and I think hers looks a lot better than mine (I also think she’s a better dancer than me in general), and mine will look really trashy compared to hers. We’re only going to perform them in front of a few family members, though, so it’s probably not as bad. I do have a pointe recital this Friday and Saturday, though, and I’m very much stressing for that.
I would say something like ‘you shouldn’t compare yourself to others’ but that’d be pretty hypocritical of me. I’m sure you’ll do great, though, even if the other student does play better than you. Good luck, and I’m praying for you!

My sister likes to germinate avocado seeds. We already have two little avocado saplings that have been growing for about a year and they’re a bit more than a foot tall. The thing with avocado seeds is they’re hard to get started. You have to fill a jar with water and impale the sides of the seed with three or four toothpicks so that when you put the seed in the water it won’t be completely submerged but just partially, with the toothpicks resting on the lip of the jar. And then you have to wait weeks and weeks to even see if they’ll sprout, which only a few do. But it’s worth it to think that someday you’ll have your very own avocado tree! After all, there are no wild avocado trees left because the animal that used to eat its seeds went extinct a looong time ago, so humans have to plant all new avocado trees. It’s the same way with ginkgoes!

I have...a PLAY today. I am performing a PLAY today. I'm not really nervous, thankfully; I sort of stopped being nervous days in advance about things a while ago, when I decided that when I anticipated things and imagined what things would be like I was always surprised and nothing would go like I imagined it in my head...usually in a good way.
But yeah, I'm a little bit anxious I guess. This play has been a lot of work, despite the fact that three months ago I thought it would never work out and we would just have to quit. But we're performing it today...and I know all my lines! Yay!
