Chatterbox: Down to Earth

CBer Chat Thread

CBer Chat Thread

I was reading through some of the CB Confessions on the old thread, and I noticed people saying things that really resonated with me - that they didn’t connect with a lot of CBers, that they didn’t have close friends here, that they never had a chance to just chat.

And so I decided to make this thread.

The goal is for CBers to engage in lighthearted, not-just-to-advance-a-story, as-if-we’re-sitting-around-a-lunch-table chatting. It’s like an AE chat thread, but with CBers. That’s it. No rules, no nothing. (Although I will ask, on behalf of all the CBers out there that feel overlooked, that we try to reply to everyone, not just our “friends.”)

Cool! So, how’s everyone doing today? I’m feeling a bit bored, because it’s a weekend and I have no work to do, but that’s also kinda nice. How about you?

It's sunny here for the first time in weeks, and I'm about to take a walk outside, so I'm feeling good! This morning's sunrise made me realize how much I'd missed the sun!

It's actually not that cold here in Illinois! I didn't need to wear my winter coat to church this morning. Right now I'm procrastinating on my voice minutes and listening to a song by Vance Joy.

Hmm. It's a nice day, overall, but my dog has been barking like crazy on account of all the Superbowl people out and about. Oof.

Oof :) What kind of dog do you have?

I am also in Illonois and also procrastinating! I was actually able to walk home from school today, on account of the weather.

Nice.... here in Oregon it's been, well, cloudy and gray and damp.... as usual. But a few days ago it was partly cloudy with the sun shining and a slight warm wind, and that felt heavenly, probably my favorite weather.

That happened to us too! It’s generally very cold and dreary this time of year, but the other day the sun cane out from behind a cloud and it was beautiful!

For some reason, everything seems crisper in the sun. Does anyone else notice that?

Hey, it's pretty warm in New York, too! Not quite what I expect of January weather. It's cloudy, which is normal, but one would think all the wet would be frozen by now. And I remember winters where 20 degrees was warm...

I'm a little suspicious of how apparently free of obligations I am today. I'm going with my mom to take our cat to the vet this afternoon, and there are a couple of drawings I have to work on, but otherwise I can't think of anything I know I need to do. I'm going to check for homework, just in case.

Somehow, today feels like a very good day for ghost stories.

I got to wear a sweater today and now I flipping love sweaters they're so good

Also my friend was tossing a ring he likes to wear around and he tossed it to me and I put it on and he forgot I had it so when I asked him is he wanted it back he was like O.O "I forgot you had that," so I said I was going to keep it and he said "Lol okay" so this is what's happening now. Y E E

@Kitten I'm... not entirely sure? XD A mix between a terrier and something else that makes him look like an overgrown beagle.

We had a snow day today! This week has been rough, and I definitely needed the break.

Lucky! We only got a few inches of snow down here. I would have liked to be lazy. But, I suppose, even then I would still have to do school work, because now we have e-learning days.

Oh my gosh, we've been in freakishly similar situations so far on this thread. XD We were all hoping for a snow day, but then again, that would have resulted in 5-hours' worth of E-learning. Weird.

This is so weird!

Is it just an Illinois thing or do I know you IRL? Watch me ask all of my friends tomorrow if they've every heard of Luna-Star.

I mean, I live in Central-ish IL and our public schools did have a snow day on the 5th or 6th. (It didn't affect me since I'm homeschooled but oh well)

Are you on the NaNo Classroom? The new one?

Today, I was at my bus stop and it started snowing! It was just flurries, but to middle schoolers in the Deep South, we were so excited. My friend and I sat together on the bus and we were chatting about our memories in the snow. I remember in 2014 we had a snowstorm and got 6 inches of snow (again, deep south). I was about six, and I remember eating the snow because I had never seen it before!
