I was thinking,

Chatterbox: Inkwell

I was thinking,

I was thinking, we could start a new story chain. You make up a new character, but they CAN'T be from the 21st century (they'll wind up there later). They have to be related to someone famous but NOT an actor, actress, singer, etc.

Mine is: Dehlia Ludington.

Related to a heroine of the American Revolution: Sybil Ludington.

Lives in Fredericksburg NY, 1777

Suddenly transported to the 21st century.

Age: Unkown

Short length blonde hair, blue-gray eyes, exactly 5 feet, rather pale.

Personality: Quiet most of the time, yet speaks out passionately when its something she cares about, strong, dependable, loving.

Hope ya'll like my idea!

Okay, so, since this has sort of died, I'm just gonna have us pull our money (imagine they have a little since my imagination is fried, and can't think up a decent way of getting money) and get on a train (again, I don't know if trains go from Boston to New York, but oh well).

Dehlia ~

I stared out the window of the train, Dora sitting beside me. I'd never seen one, but I've heard of trains. I doubted they moved this fast back home. Errol and Felix sat across the isle. People around stared at black boxes that glowed, read books, or dozed. I myself was feeling exhausted after the few precious hours of sleep last night. Despite my best intentions, I slipped into sleep, not waking until Dora shook me. I sat up. We'd stopped at a station looking very much like the one we'd departed from. People were grabbing coats and bags, and hurrying off. We slipped out quickly, having nothing to carry, and followed the rush of people out of the train depot and into the busy streets of what I supposed was New York City.

Okay, so, we're in New York...

What do we do once we are in New York?

We look for Max!

--

Errol rubs his eyes, trying to clear his brain of this muddling stupidity that has overtaken him. He groans at the bright indoor lights and stuffs his hands in his jacket pockets.

"Well, we're here," he says tiredly to the ragtag group of displaced. "Let's find ourselves a thief. But we need directions first."

He flags down a passing teenaged girl who seems to be travelling in a clump with her companions - a tall boy with an "Enter the Haggis" hoodie and a shorter person of indeterminant gender whose hair was white as fresh snow, framing their face in lazy curls. Errol did a double take when he saw that, but quickly forced it down. Maybe that's normal in this time.

"Excuse me, but we're in need of some directions..." he begins.

The white-haired person raises their head slowly and begins to speak in a low drawl, within which Errol can detect just a hint of a sneer. "Donovan? What does the scope say?"

The tall boy fumbles in his jacket for something, eventually pulling out a small black rectangle. He checks the readout, and a small smile spreads across his face. "Enough."

"We've got your directions." The white curls bounce around the person's face as they perform a slow but graceful turn on one heel so they are facing the girl. "Liz."

The girl cocks an eyebrow. "Right." She addresses Errol's group, who are fairly confused at this point. "Follow us."

They do without much discussion.

"Do you have names?" Errol asks, speeding up so he can walk side-by-side the tall boy.

He shrugs. "I dunno. They call me Donovan. That's Liz. And... well, nobody knows much about Arctica. I don't even know if he's actually a guy."

Errol considers this piece of information. "Errol, Felix, Dehlia, Dora," he says, pointing to each person in turn. "Where are we going, anyway?"

Donovan shrugs again. It seems to be his default reaction to any question. "Don't ask me. Liz's in charge. And don't ask her. Because she's downright vicious and you'll probably be regretting ever being born if you get on her bad side."

"Noted..."

Sorry! Been insanely busy...

Dehlia ~

Needless to say, I was rather taken aback at the lot we'd landed ourselves. I wasn't quite sure why Errol had decided to follow them, being as, we'd never even told them where we wanted to go. I follow, eyeing each one in turn. What on earth was a scope? And really, how could that thing tell them anything about us? Dora, Felix and I walked side by side, not bothering to say anything. We walked for a while, through alleys and congested streets. Frankly, I was inwardly frightened. I'd never been anywhere so huge, and full of so many people. And everything was so loud. People pushed hurriedly past, not giving us the least regard, so often I was nearly knocked to the ground. "Where are we going?" I asked after almost half and hour of walking. The girl leading us simply turned and glared at me. Finally, we arrived at a large brick building that looked abandoned. The girl led us up to the door, and pushed it open...

Got to go now!

Okay, here goes.

~Dora~

The girl - Liz, I think, pushed the door slightly open. I tried to peer into the house, but Liz opened the door only wide enough for one person at a time to go in. First the strange girl with snow-white hair, then the weird boy who had pointed the black box at us.

"Come on in," said the girl in a syrupy sweet voice. Her eyes had a wicked gleam in them.

I shivered. Something was not right. Fliex, then Dehlia went in.

______________

We came to New York to get trapped. How do we get untrapped? I think that one of us - Errol would be a good choice- should make off with the tars and rescue them somehow.

What do you guys think?

Agreed. We also need more purpose to the kidnapping. Through what we have, we know one bottle of time tears can't get us home. So, really, could even two? Perhaps there is another way of time traveling...

Yeah, that may work. Perhaps we'll go along and see. Sorry, I can't write a full post. Nano keeps me busy!

Because I can't god-mod and because it would be hard to change Errol's feelings so quickly about the people who took us in, I'll run off. Change it if you want to, I just want to start this up again.

~Dora~

I pressed closer to Errol. Something wasn't right. What did they want? They weren't our friends, that I was pretty sure. What were they... Oh!

Suddenly, I knew.

"Come on in," said Lexi in her fake tone of voice. "After you."

I felt Errol step forward, but pulled him back.

"Give me the time tears," I whispered.

He stared down at me, "Give you- What? No way! Why would you need them?" he tried to shake me off, but I held on tight.

"Give. Them. To. Me," I said fiercly.

Errol's hands went to his jacket pocket.

"Are you coming?" Lexi's voice was now less sweet.

Errol looked up." Hmm? Oh, okay. I'm coming." He turned to me. Get off of me, his eyes said, flashing.

"Fine," I whispered."Have it your way."

Swiftly, I reached into his unguarded pocket. I snatched out the bottle.

"Hey, what?" Errol said, snatching at my hand.

"Are you coming?" Lexi asked, her voice dangerously impatient.

Errol glared at me. "Yes, I am. Come on, Dora," he said, jerking his head.

I stared at him for a moment. Then, as he turned his back to me and walked into the house, I dashed off through the alley.

"Hey, what? Dora!" I heard Errol's voice, then the slam of a door behind me.

Hey, I like that! I've been thinking Dora needed a bit more action to her character! So, your opinion True, should Dehlia go with you or Errol? Cause I'm cool with, and like either, so...

I'm thinking that we could have Dehlia in the house with the other three, then have one of the three escape, and meet Dora and then Dora gets caught, but not the other one, the one with the time tears. Or just have them slip out one by one, with the last person with the time tears.

But whatever you, L, Quintus and SC think. Where are they?

I like the first one! Sorry, we've all been busy writing for Nano. I know because L and I are in the same cabin. So we're majorly cramming. No idea where Quintus is. I think SC is doing Nano as well. So, hopefully after April we'll all be back more often. Can't write now, must go get Dehlia (my novel Dehlia) out of the middle of the ocean in a dinghy.
