Riordan Universe RP

So this RP is going on Rick R's mythology novels. Your character can either live at Camp Half-Blood, Camp Jupiter, or Brooklyn House, KC being in existence alongside PJ/HoO, or anywhere else in the Riordan worlds. They can be a god, demigod, magician, mortal, whoever. We'll decide what time era to set this in. My charrie:

Name: Lewis Darrylson

Home: Camp Half-Blood

Species: Demigod

Godly parent: Apollo

Appearance: Messy hair, naturally blonde, but he dyes it green. Skinny and athletic. Wears novelty T-shirts and cargo shorts.

Personality: Impulsive, but very bright. Is always very loyal to friends. Has a crush on another camper (I'll choose someone else's character as the target).

Pasttimes: Archery, basketball,  capture the flag, reading the Alex Rider books

Dominant hand: Left. Just like me...

When do we start?

So, I'm just going to "break the ice" and kick this off. I'm assuming we're going with the Big Pact/mid 1940's era, since no one said otherwise.

Avril ~

I raised the bow, and stared down arrow shaft. The target stood about fifty yards off. Sunlight shone down as it always did, since we never had bad weather at Camp Half-Blood. Things had just started to calm down after WWII, which I was immensely grateful. Tension had been strong here at camp, with feuds and fist-to-fist arguments having become a daily occurance.

I breathed in deeply, and released. Thwack! The arrow sounded as it embedded itself into the center of the target. I smiled slightly, resting my bow, while drawing another arrow from the quiver hanging around my back.

"Nice one," said Emma, who stood nearby, watching. I smiled at her, notching my arrow. The range was empty besides us, with everyone trying to stay cool in the cabins or down at the lake. I drew back the arrow, about to release.

"Mind if I join you?" a voice said behind me. I lowered my bow, turning and saw Lewis, a son of Apollo, walking over, also holding a bow. I shrugged in reply, pulling my arrow back once more.

"The silence is odd, isn't it?" Emma asked.

"Yeah, camp is never quiet," Lewis said, notching an arrow. I nodded. It was strange, but nice also. The Hermes cabin was packed, as usual, and so noisy you couldn't hear yourself think. I was constantly having to replan the cabin layout in order to fit newcomers. I kept wishing these kids would be claimed, but I knew many of them would be left waiting for a long, long time.

So, I was just trying to get some sort of ball rolling, introducing some characters. @ Lena & JtSF: If you don't like that, you can change it. Now come on people, write!

No, no, I like that. Hmmm...

Avril noched another arrow, while Lewis noched 6. Seriously, how can that guy do it? I thought. The Apollo kids always baffled me. But, something that baffled me even more was that there was enough quiet for me to think. Now, thats somthing you don't get every day in the Hermes cabin. I was staring into space for awile, because at some point I heard Lewis say, "Hey, Emma, are you okay?" I looked up "Huh? Oh, yeah, I'm fine. You useually don't get enough silence to think in the Hermes cabin." Avril nodded, "You got that one right!" Well, silence was good, but silenece in camp Half-Blood never lasted this long. Somthing inside me said somthing was wrong.

I don't have an idea of what is wrong. I was thinking of leaving that to you guys....

I believe the thing that's wrong is WWII. Ask JtSF.

Katie was in her usual spot. The garden. Where all the Demeter kids always were.

Can't do what you want in privacy when you're a child of Demeter, she thought grimly as she tried to heal a withering strawberry plant. Of course, she was used to it. Back "home" (no home for the likes of me) she had five foster siblings, Kalyna, Lanyla, Fedir, Klaur, and Janina. They were all annoying, but mostly Kalyna. Who was, irritatingly, an entire day older than her. These kids were her real siblings, but she felt detached from them. Probably because they all lived with their fathers and stepmoms and she was nobody's kid.

'Kay, mom, can you answer my prayers for once? she thought, rooting up a completely dead plant. Let me know that my feelings of inner destruction aren't the symptoms of a deeper problem in the outside world...

Katie waited for a second. Nothing. She snorted and stood up. Whenever she got too pensive she thought of something funny. Mainly how Klaur and Fedir insulted each other by calling each other butler. There was nothing wrong. Nothing.

Renee~

I set down the NARUTO comic that had held me in my cabin for the whole morning and decided to communicate with the world. Not that there was much of a world to communicate with anyways. I never really liked being a year round camper. I wish everybody was here all year round.

"Hi," I greeted three kids, Lewis, Emma, and Avril. They were practicing archery in silence. Silence, I thought. Who needs it?!

"Hi Renee," said Avril, setting down her bow for just a second.

I suddenly shivered. The air felt cold. But it wasn't winter or anything, it was spring, and sunny spring days at camp were never this cold!

Okay.... short and I could've ended better. But I jsut wanted to get Renee in there.

I'm assuming we're gearing up for a quest, so maybe Melody, you could write a view point from Brooklyn House, and we could meet on the quest (though I'm figuring this was the idea already)?

Avril ~

I placed my bow on the ground, stretching my arm, when I noticed the air temperature. Renee had noticed it too, as was everyone else.

"Why's it so cold all of a sudden?" Katie Bramley, a child of Demeter, asked as she strode up, hugging her arms.

I shook my head, staring up at the sky. It was still a brilliant blue. But the temperature was dropping by the minute.

Suddenly a conch horn sounded, though it was too early for dinner. The only thing it could mean was that a meeting was being called. We dropped our archery equipment, and headed over to amphitheater, where the rest of the campers were gathering. We split up, each heading to join our cabinmates. Emma and I walked over to the Hermes kids, and I led them into the theater. Chiron stood at the center (since I don't think Mr. D was there yet), looking slightly anxious. He always tried to hide his worry, and put on a upbeat attitude, but I could tell this bothered him.

"Heroes," he began...

*********************************************************************

I'll stop there. So, why does Chiron call them, what's the quest? Btw, is this during or after WWII and the pact between the Big Three?

Katie watched Chiron closely from the group of Demeter kids. Her youngest sister, Rita, who was only 6, held on to her leg. "Is this about Butler?" she asked. Katie wasn't really listening.

"Hmmmm?" she semi-asked. "Butler," Rita said again. "The bad man from Germany."

It took Katie a couple seconds to realize what Rita had asked. Then she laughed. Really hard. Of course Rita meant Hitler, but it was still funny.

Bad timing, Rita, she thought agin a moment later, realizing that everyone was staring at her. Even that weird guy with green hair who was usually kinda out of it. Even Chiron. Especially Chiron.

"Sorry," she muttered. "Air went down the wrong way." She heard snickering from the oldest Demeter kid- Donna. Donna always made her feel like an idiot. Which, to be honest, she felt like most of the time anyway.

"Heroes," Chiron said again. "Something has happened." Well, duh, Katie thought, rubbing her arms harder. This was in no way a joke.

I was thinking that it was after WWII but before the pact and the pact is what Chiron's calling them about. I mean, unless you guys don't like it.

Where is JtSF???? He's back from camp, but where is he now?????

Okay. Anyway, You guys can make up the quest, and I'll do the prophecy writing. Like, the rhyming part. And has anyone noticed that, even though there are plenty of demigods with the same godly parent but different human prents, there are none with the same mortal parent and different godly parents?

Hmmm...
