Riordan Universe RP

So this RP is going on Rick R's mythology novels. Your character can either live at Camp Half-Blood, Camp Jupiter, or Brooklyn House, KC being in existence alongside PJ/HoO, or anywhere else in the Riordan worlds. They can be a god, demigod, magician, mortal, whoever. We'll decide what time era to set this in. My charrie:

Name: Lewis Darrylson

Home: Camp Half-Blood

Species: Demigod

Godly parent: Apollo

Appearance: Messy hair, naturally blonde, but he dyes it green. Skinny and athletic. Wears novelty T-shirts and cargo shorts.

Personality: Impulsive, but very bright. Is always very loyal to friends. Has a crush on another camper (I'll choose someone else's character as the target).

Pasttimes: Archery, basketball,  capture the flag, reading the Alex Rider books

Dominant hand: Left. Just like me...

Gah, I wrote Lewis likes Alex Rider books... but they didn't exist in the 1940s! I'll write later, kinda busy.

What do you mean when you say later? I'm busy, too. I'll write on the weekends. Same with Shane's RP.

I think we should just keep going. If JtSF comes back, he can jump in.

"Knock it off," I ordered, knocking another Hermes kid, Herold, in the arm after he started laughing at Katie.

"Heroes, something has happened," Chiron said, beginning again. I could have groaned aloud. Chiron was great, he just always tried to soften things, which made me want to go insane. But this time, Chiron looked really uncomfortable.

"As you know, WWII has left a big impact on the world, though mortals don't know the real story behind it. It has left a big impact everywhere. Here, at camp, and even up on Olympus. Bigger than we realized... until today." Lightning suddenly shot out of nowhere, thunder rolled across the sky, and the temperature dropped even farther. I was getting really nervous.

Chiron sighed, then continued, "Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades have decided that they're children are far too powerful... And have made a pact not to sire any more."

I blinked, dumfounded. I'd always known that Big Three kids were more poweful. Anyone could see that. And they weren't necessarily common, but a pact not to have any more? I could hear other kids muttering, some sounding scared.

Chiron stamped his hooves for attention. Everyone slowly silenced.

"Heroes, this also poses a problem. There is one child left of the Big Three, though we're not sure of which. We need a quest to go and retrieve this final child."

Everyone was silent trying to process this. Everyone knew that a quest of this magnitude would be extremely dangerous. In all honestly, the half-bloods chosen would probably not come back. I thought about this kid, whoever he or she was. What would happen to them. I thought back to my own past, and made a brash decision.

I stood up. "I volunteer for the quest."

*********************************************************************

So this can just be a rough draft. I wasn't really sure what the quest could be, so I thought this might work. We don't really know anything about the pact anyway, so why not? Ya'll can make changes if you want.

Sorry, I've been busy winning awards for movies and whatnot. Not a joke.

--Lewis--

This was crazy, but what the heck, I volunteered. Everyone stared. I'd always been teased about being afraid of the naiads in the lake, but now I was volunteering for a quest?

Okay, I wasn't really afraid of them. I had a crush on one of them. While also having a crush on Avril. Boy, was she hot! As a result due to poor nerves, I steered clear of both Avril and the lake. But I was not afraid of a quest. Never. It sounded awesome.

And maybe I'd get to develop a thing between me and Avril.

Chiron went on all about how it would be dangerous, epic sacrifices, blahbity blahbity blah. Then another girl volunteered. Flaming red hair, Cabin Nine sweetie. Now I had a crush on her too. My poor nerves were gonna explode on this quest. Terrific.

After the meeting to which I tried to listen, but forgot everything afterward (ADHD never helps, as well as a tendency to inadvertantly let my mind wander to thoughts of girls and chocolate), we all got prepared.

"So, what's your name?" I asked the redhead. "Renne Flame," she said.

I grinned. "You look as good as the best rasberry-filled chocolate bar I ever tasted."

She gave me an odd look, which almost sent me running from the nerves regarding the rather young crush. "I look like a candy bar?"

"I don't know what you're talking about!" I declared like a fool, packing my bags with the supplies Chiron had given us. "Let's get a good night's sleep shall we?"

"Oooooh-kay," she said, still giving me weird looks. Then she smiled and said, "You know, Camp Half-Blood is just a part-time thing. I also hang at..." she slowed her voice. "You know what? Doesn't matter."

As she turned to leave, I thought I caught a glimpse of an Egyptian amulet under her shirt hanging around her neck.

Hm. So my third crush was Greek and Egyptian at the same time? Maybe. I didn't know much about gods and monsters from other cultures existing around here, but I'd always been wondering. Perhaps this girl knew a little.

Could I please join? And if you've read the books, do you remember how Nico was stuck in the Lotus hotel? Maybe we could do that in reverse, like when you stay you get sucket backwards into time? Also, is it okay if my character has Roman roots (her dad's side of the  family), but her mom is Greek?

Here's my character:

Violet Katrina Hayden

home: Camp Half-Blood

Godly parent: Aphrodite

appearance: wavy brown hair with blonde hightlights, sometimes tied up with a red band. She has greenish blue eyes. She is athletic, tan, average height, and average weight. Wears either skinny jeans or shorts with a loose shirt (olive green, sky blue, or sea green are her favorites). You can always see her with a heart charm bracelet.

Personality: isn't into fashion like everyone else, but she still likes being a child of Aphrodite. She's intelligent but her fatal flaw is overthinking. Otherwise, she is outgoing and kind.

pastimes: She loves to paint, act, and sing.

dominant hand: left

I was also thinking that maybe my character can do magic when she sings (or maybe some other power) since most demigods have a few powers.

So, I know typically there can't be more than three on a quest, but since we got so many other people in this, maybe we can make an exception?

Avril ~

I stood for a second, watching. Chiron nodded his head, accepting me for the quest. Then Lewis stood, as did Renee. Chiron nodded again solemnly, and we filed out of the ampitheater. I headed straight over to the Hermes cabin do get ready.

"Why did you volunteer?" Emma demanded, as she walked alongside me.

"Because I can't bear to think of that kid trying to fend off monsters, possibly not even realizing what he or she is! They're out there, alone, and... and I know what that feels like," I added quietly. I stood a moment, then continued. "I'm not going to let them die knowing I could have at least tried. I'm going," I added firmly. I pulled out a brown over-the-shoulder bag and stuffed my Camp Half-Blood tshirt, another pair of jeans, my dagger, and a baggie of nectar and ambrosia. I leaned my sword against it and sat on my bed. Emma sat beside me.

"I don't think three is going to be enough," I said after a moment.

"But, it's always been three," Emma replied.

"I know, but this a difficult quest. More than usual. We're going after a child of the Big Three, somewhere across the country, after a pact has been made for there not to be anymore."

"The fewer half-bloods, the less scent there is to track," Emma supplied.

"There's strength in numbers," I rejoined. Emma nodded thoughtfully.

"Maybe I should speak to Chiron," I murmered thoughtfully. Emma nodded, but didn't say anything. I stood up. "Yes, I'm going to speak to Chiron."

**********************************************************************

So, I'm leaving this open for others to join in the quest! I'll let you write yourselves in.

Okay, thanks!Smile

Emma~

"Maybe I should speak to Chiron," Avril murmmered. I nodded thoughtfully but didn't say anything."Yes, I'm going to speak to Chiron."  My grin spread and I stood up. "Then I'm coming with you," I said. "This would be my first quest and you know it! You said yourself that you thought that there should be more Half-Bloods on this quest!" And in a softer voice I added, "I want to be important for once and I think you know that." Avril looked at me for a long while and finally said," Let's see what Chiron says." I jumped up and hugged her. I don't know why I did it, maybe because she treated me like a sister. A real sister. Not just like we have the same dad, okay let's be friends. "Now, let's see to Chiron," Avril said.

I really didn't know what Chiron would say to my quesiton, but the answer I got I didn't expect. Chiron turned red and he started to laugh right there on the spot. "My dear, this quest might be too complex for you! Wait longer and I promise the day will come when you will have a quest of your own." He smiled down at me. Anger boiled up inside me and I clenched my teeth. "Do you know how much I've waited for a quest? Now might be my chance to have one and you refuse! And no, I don't allow myself to think that anything is to complex for me!" Chiron just smiled and said, "Well, that's just what I wanted to hear! I geuss you can acompany Renee, Avril, and Lewis on this quest." I couln't believe it. I had just been let on a quest!

Renee-

I'd almost given myself away to that Lewis boy! I mean, sure, I was a year rounder here at camp except for my THING, so he should recognize me...

I decided he was crazy. He called me a candy bar in the first place, didn't he?

When I volunteered for the quest, Chiron looked a little confused. He confronted me later.

"You've got enough going on, switching between two lives!"

"You know I love it here, more. And anyways they haven't needed me for the last six months, why would they need me now?!"

"That's the thing. They just sent in a mission report for you. They need you now. You can't go."

"I'm going. I don't care." I was decided.

"Your cousins need you, they all need you."

"I'm not even going to let you tell me what the stupid mission is. I'm going on the quest."

I walked off to pack my bags, leaving Chiron bewildered.
