Aquaria glared at the girl called Etta.

" And why are you here?" King Calder asked, eyeing the girl suspiciously.

" My lord, I want to help you with the sirens," Etta replied, her eyes glimmering. Aquaria's eyes narrowed.

" Why would you want to help?" the king asked, his large tail flicking slightly.

" Well.. I'm a mermaid hunter," Etta informed, looking a little nervous. Immediately, four guards slid out their swords and surrounded Etta, pointing the swords at her. Thyst let out a small gasp.

" I mean no harm to you! I just want to help with the sirens!" Etta cried out, her hands in the air, her eyes shut, as if thinking this was a nightmare, and willing it to disappear.

" You will have three of our guards by you at all times, until we charge into the battle with the sirens. Is that understood?" King Calder asked, his eyes narrow, the blue color of them growing darker. Etta bowed her head, and the guards backed away.

" Yes. I understand." Thyst, along with the three guards, led her to the sleeping chambers.

" Keep an eye on her, Aquaria. Also, get Aquarius for me. We have much to talk about," King Calder instructed, turning to one of the messengers. Aquaria nodded her head, and swam off.

~ Etta ~

Thyst and I turned into mermaids and swam towards where ( I'm prettty sure ) the mermaid city is. We reached a small island , and there we stopped.

" Bury your dagger here, " Thyst ordered. I dug around in the sand, then shoved it inside and covered the hole with sand again.

Then we began swimming again. I had to hurry to catch up with Thyst, who was muttering something about chores. Finally we reached the city. It was a coral, rock, and sandstone mountain, with a sort of square in the middle. The walls were honeycombed with caves and I could glimpse gaurdians of seaweed and kelp, patios, feilds, and more. It was one of the most amazing places I had ever seen.

Thyst smiled. " Beautiful, huh ? Well, I gotta go . The King's cave is that one. " She pointed it out. For the first time since my parents died, I started to get really nervous. " What ? You aren't coming with me ? " I called, but she was already hurrying off.

Picking the grit from under my nails nervously and swimming slowly, I approached the King's Cave. Uncertainly, I knocked on the wall by the opening. The mermaid princess appeared. She gaped, drawing her dagger. " Father ! "

Thyst was jittery after Etta's audience with the mermaid king. He wasn't a force to be reckoned with. Suddenly there was a knock on the door.

Megon

i pace angry in my room. " I will find you, Etta. You traitor!" I yell as I step out onto the balcony. I climb into the attic and open a hidden chest full with a unbreakable diamond trident, and a vial titled "revenge." I forget what it does but I really don't care right now. I grab my waterproof satchel and fill it with the vail, a net ( just in case), and an iron dagger. I climb down my ladder, and I walk onto the balcony. I fly on top of the roof and practice my element. I believe I am ready, so I fly above the ocean. Eventually I am exausted and I let the winds I did not make  carry me.  I drift on, watching the fish of the ocean Swim on. Eventually I see Etta and three guards swimming and talking. I create a whirlpool distraction with my wind and once they leave dive into the water, pushing Etta down to the sand floor, my diamond trident ready to stab through her chest.

" Hello, " I say as calmly as I can with an infuratingly sweet smile.

" YOU. . . YOU TRADER !!!!! " Megon growled.

I pull air out of the water and build a shelid around myself, then painstakingly pulled more air out, delving into the complicated art of Feéga . She roars and tries to draw air out of the water, but instead, drawing on her energy, the air is drawn to me. I decide to go showy. I build a ball of air and throw it at her. She ducks, but it chases her and encases her. She struggles, pushing, but I push harder. I lean.She drew her dagger and used it to break my sheild. But I pushed her again, so hard, she swirled through the water, into the whirlpool, which pulled her up and spat her out up above. I pushed the mermaid hunter as far away as I could- several dozen yards, only, I was so exhausted. Out of the corner of my eye I saw the Princess approaching. Exhausted (for the great power Feéga gives, it takes a LOT of energy! ) I collapsed. The Princess bent over me, with an expression I couldn't read.

" MEGON. Get her. The . . . " I slumped.

~~~~~~
MapleSyrup : I officaly claim Feéga for Etta. I want to have her be a strong athletic person, but Megon has more of chemistry strengths, and doctoring, AND powers. I want Etta to have Feéga, swordsmanship, athletics, and strong powers- and the power to turn into a mermaid. I won't add anything to Etta's strengths if you don't add any to Megon's. Okay ?
Ok... I guess. What's Feegia or whatever? Do chemistry potions count ? My character can turn into a mermaid too if you don't remember.
Feéga is when you- well, you just do something really boring and go into a trance and then you can spread your senses using your element . That's how Etta found Thyst .
Megon
I flew through the air, holding onto the trident. I felt Etta's power failing and dove back into the water. I catch the princess in a net and drag her onto shore. I swim back to the unconsious Etta and fly to my house. I drag Etta into the attic then into a metal cage I sometimes use on Marvel when he is bad. I lock the cage then pour a substance into the keyhole that does not allow wind or keys to get into the hole. I stick the key into my pocket and drag my beanbag chair in front of the cage. Etta stirs and I summon all my wind magic to create a glass-like box around the cage as she wakes up.
Thyst opened the door. The Elementor was there, black hood and all. She gasped as he gave her all the element powers and she blacked out.
Alright, I admit it , I'm freaking out. But Megon ? Overeacting times two . Wants to kill mermaids because her sister doesn't spend much time with her. Overeact alert ! I touched the bars of the cage. Kitty fur. Did she have. . . a KITTY ? That's too weird !
I pushed as hard as I could against the cage, feeling weakened. I could barely lift my head -- partly because the cage was so low, but I wasn't sure if I could have anyway. Megon leaned over me, face pressed against an invisible wall, as she gloated. The wind-wall didn't let in sound, and I wasn't the best lip reader. I studied her teeth. Clean enough, but one was slightly chipped, just enough that I, after close examination, found it.
Finally she pushed away, looking satisfied and smirking. She said something else and left. I sighed in relief. Megon was so depressing. I was uncomfortably reminded of myself in my younger days, just after my parents had died. I had been wild and over nervous, unbalanced, vowing never to touch water. I had rethought such a stupid thing, and instead vowed to exact revenge on my parents' killers. I closed my eyes, trying to stop the flood of memories.
Mother, baking bread over Father's fire the morning before they drowned.
   Father, gentle silver eyes gleaming in the firelight, telling me about fire . " It's living, as alive as you or me. It is wild as a drunk man, but longs to warm and is so full of spirt ! " Remembering, a tear trinkled down my cheek.
Me, bread clutched in grimmy hand, running away from an angry baker's assistant. Later, eatting the bread, which soon was soaked with tears as I remembered Father's special flame bringing extra flavor to mother's good bread.
" Mermaid, " the sailor told me. I growled. " Someday-- when I am stronger, " I muttered. Dizzy, I almost collapsed. The sailor pushed me away. " Go away, beggar-girl. " I was welcome nowhere, I had thought.
Runnning. Stones. A soft breeze touching my face. Breezes everywhere. Playful winds, angry tornados, shy breaths of slow-moving air, bubbles underwater, a tail, a longing to move in something . . . more.
Wait -- when was that memory ? It wasn't a memory , was it ? It was a dream . I woke with tears on my face and the memory of wind half-stirring my hair.
Megon
I climbed down the ladder. I sighed. I knew what I did was wrong but still. This is for Misty. I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a chicken wing and wrapped it in tin foil. I walked back up the stairs.  And climbed the ladder. While Etta was aleep I stuck the wing through the bars. I put the wind box back on and sat back on my beanbag. I put my knees bettween my knees and sob a bit. Etta has it so good. Atleast you have nothing to worry about. I feel like I don't even have a sister.    " I have no sister," I think as I sob through the night. When I wake up Etta starts to stir.
Megon is sitting on a nearby beanbag chair, with a strange expression on her face. I noticed something wrapped in tinfoil. I unroll it. A chicken wing. Listlessly, I poke at it. Chicken was Mother's favorite food. She was kind hearted, a vegetarian, but she loved to eat chicken, eggs, and milk. I sniffle. Even thinking about my mom's favorite food breaks me up. I'm so weak. I curl up tightly so Megon doesn't see me cry. She notices anyway.
Jackie~
I sat on a rock, sighing. I had watched most of the action between Megon and the mermaids. Why is wrong with her? gee, I'm pretty happy with being like this. Free in the sea, where I belong. i mean, the sea saved me! Who cares about my past now. Life is free. Megon doesn't let herself be free. She imprisons herself in hatred, vowing to destroy all who get in her way. You shouldn't live life like that. I lay my back down, wondering about Megon. I have the easy way out. most people weren't saved by the sea. They were destroyed by it. What is wrong with the sea?
