Everland Island P

Everland Island P

Everland Island Prison RP

Okay, so my Everlasting RP started eight days ago, and we voted first for genres, and then for plot ideas. However, two plot ideas tied for first.

Normally, in this situation there would be a runoff between the two, and I'm also aware that I said this would be the case. However, I fear that we are at serious risk of losing the people that have joined, because, quite frankly, this is taking a really long time. =)

Also, there are clearly enough people interested in both RPs to make them both work. This is a good thing! Two for the price of one!

Alias submitted the following idea, and it tied for first with four votes;

In this world your three (or fewer) characters are on a prison-island. A few of these characters were unjustly imprisoned, but many deserve to be there. This is not just a story about heroes and good guys.

They are racing to get to a small enchanted ship that they have heard of -- though no one knows if it exists. Nobody has actually seen this ship. but stories say that it can only carry two people. This ship is also said to be the only escape from the prison-island.

Here's the thing; this is a prison for people with magical powers. The island is under an unbreakable spell that limits the characters' powers so severely that they're almost silly. Like if you have the power of conjuring flame, you can only conjure one as large as a gas stove would. Or if you can freeze something, it can't be bigger than an apple. (These are just examples.)

This is set in a medieval-type era. (But not necessarily Earth.) So, no cellphones, etc.

If you use more than one character for this, they should be on very noticeably different levels as far as good/evil.

The goal of these RPs is not to win! These are Everlasting RPs. If someone just wins, then they end! I someone does triumph, it should be a twist of the plot, not the high point in any way.

Let's try and make it about strong writers, not strong characters. Triumphs should be few and far between, something worthy of celebration. Make the story about challenges and defeats.

The character form is this:

Name:

 Age:

Appearance:

Power:

You'll notice that I left out backstory, other, and personality. This was on purpose. I think it will make for a more interesting to have our characters develop throughout, not just have a flat-out identity. No one really knows if the other one is good/evil. We have to figure it out.

Just to remind everybody, I'm going to state a few rules;

1. You can have no more than three characters at a time.

2. A character can be killed off and replaced. However, there must be two weeks (real time) between the creation of a character and the same character's replacement. This gives our characters time to develop, and hopefully compels us to commit to describing their place in this imaginary world.

3. No simple overpower-ed-ness, please! Cleverness, deceit, and luck, YES! Blatant ovepowering, not so much.

4. You do not have to have voted on the original thread to post on this.

5. You can join at any time.

Rianne~

Coral follows right behind me as we emerge out of the forest into the blinding sun of the beach. A girl is lying on the sand, at the edge of the waves. Her short hair is tangled, her leggings, shirt, and scarf soaked and sandy.

I run over. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Just... trying something," she says. "It's Niska, by the way."

I pull her up. "Rianne. I think I recognize you..."

She pulls off her bright red scarf and shakes the sand off of it, letting it billow in the sea breeze. "I've been a prisoner here a while."

"Yeah... me too."

"Can I ask... what's your power?"

Niska suddenly ties her scarf back around her neck and doesn't answer.

Weltrin ~

I groaned, clenching my jaw as my fever grew. I mutter incoherent words, my head turning from side to side.

When will it end?

I hissed in pain, fire racking through my body. Something rustled in the bushes. I bit down on my own hand, stopping myself from crying out.

Is he searching for me?

Is he scared?

Will I ever see him again?

It wasn't his fault... It was yours.

Thoughts flashed through my head just as painfully as my fever. Someone stood at the entrance of the cave. I tried to ignore the tear of pain streaming down as I bit down harder. The person walked away, back through the passage, and disappeared. And this time, I didn't keep it in.

I let out a screech.

~Niska~

If I tell her, then she'll know how I can steal because of my power, I think to myself. But I want to confide in her, want to have a friend. I've never had a friend -- always been a loner, always had enemies instead.

"My power is . . . invisibility, but kind of . . . different."

Rianne raises one eyebrow slightly, as if hoping I would explain, but I don't, instead asking, "Rianne, Coral, what are your powers?"

"Telekenesis," Coral says. "But now it is so weak I can only move something a few inches, and it has to be light- like a glasss of water."

"I have plant powers," Rianne replies.

Suddenly I remember something. "Rianne, Coral, I have some stuff I would like to trade, if you wanted too."

Hey, everybody! (don't worry; these aren't more rules. =))

Tomorrow morning (very early) me and my family are leaving for a-little-more-than-a-week-long camping vacation. I won't be able to post at all, except maybe on my Dad's phone once and a while, and I won't be able to write RP entries on there. So . . . bye for now? I'm definitely not forfeiting my character and leaving! I'll be back and begin writing again about May 2-3.

And . . . um . . . Air, would you mind keeping my character going? You don't have to write first person narratives, if you don't want, you could just have your character write about mine, like they are now. (Thanks for that by the way. =)) Just to keep her up to date. I realize this is a very big request, and you absolutely don't have to say yes. No pressure. In fact, it's a bit ridiculous of me to ask. =)

P.S.

I'll be packing and preparing tonight until I go to sleep, so unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to write anything tonight, either. Although I will be checking in every now and then, throughout the week, so any questions will probably reach me, eventually, though it might take a while.

P.P.S.

@Danie; Anyone can join, at any time. Welcome to The Everlasting RP, and thanks for joining!

Solstice~

I hear the, "Who's there?" and freeze. My senses must be addled by exhaustion. I should have waited until I was sure no one was in there. I don't make a sound and am determined not to, but then my stomach growls, and I realize how hungry I am.

"I know you're out there," says the voice. I listen carefully, Definetely female, but with a note of tiredness to her voice. I could take her. With all my training, even if I felt like sleeping.

I jump out of the tunnel, holding my rock-knife. "Don't move," I hiss. I pick up another large rock and toss it up and down. "I'm very good at throwing," Some of my natural boldness comes back to me. "And maybe if you put your hands up and grovel, I won't hurt you,"

The girl sighs. Her blonde hair is dirty and ragged, and she's obviously been through the mill, but she has a confident aura surrouding her. For one crazy moment, I want to jump up and down with joy that I found someone on the island, but I crush it. I work alone.

"I know you're out there," I say, wishing they would just come out.

A girl jumps out of the entrance. She's wearing dark clothes crusted in salt but realativly new. Probably fresh of the beach prisoner. I wonder what she's done. "Don't move," she snarls. She picks up another large rock and tosses it up and down. "I'm very good at throwing, and maybe if you put your hands up and grovel, I won't hurt you."

I sigh, then say calmly, "Put down the rock." She raises one eyebrow and hefts the rock up as though to throw. I shake my head. "There isn't anything worth stealing here." She throws it, and it almost hits my stomach. I dodge out of the way, dive and sweep her feet off the ground. I'm sitting on her, holding her hands down. She struggles and almost pushes me off. I shake my head. "Look, whatever-your-name-is. I don't want a fight. Just leave me alone, kay? I was a Enforcer trainee, I know all the tricks and then some. I can hurt you bad. But I don't like fights. So what'll it take for you to leave me alone?"

Emi is a force to be reckoned with, believe it or not! She's just hard to rile up.

As I watched the forest where I had heard the noise, someone walked out of the bushes. It was a fisherman! All of that and it was just another fisher. On his back he carried a basket of fresh-caught fish.

"Hello." I said.

The man looked up. "Oh, hello. Fancy meeting someone this far out into the woods. Out hunting?"

"Well, Sorta. I live here." I sad, waving my hand at my carefully disguised home. The man raised his eyebrows.

"Oh, I didn't see that. I'm impressed. Couldn't have chosen a more beutiful spot." His eyes scanned teh surounding wetlands. "Say, have you ever wondered if there's a way off the island?"

I smiled. "Hasn't everybody?"

He grinned. "Yes well, I mean, it's an incredible island. Fish, Merpeople, all kinds of birds, I've even seen a dragon or two. But it's still a prison. Yes, it's still a prison...saaayy, you know that there's a legend about a boat that prisoners can use to escape. Have you heard it?"

"Bits and pieces. Can you tell it to me?" The man smiled. be glad to. He sat down, and began to tell me the legend.

Weltrin ~

I screamed again, the cave no longer feeling cool. It felt like I was surrounded by fire, the walls of the cave seeming to close in.

Where is he?

Why can't he come save me?

Catrix.... Please.

Can ya just shove me in somehow? I am too lazy to read all the way back.

Shades~

I sit in my cabin, sharpening my knife. I wring around a black cloth around and walk into the trees.

There are a lot of trees in these part of the islands, full of birds with meat to last for days. I wrap my black cloth around one tree, and flip myself up onto a branch. Up another, and another.

There. A bird. Aim your slingshot, now... Gotcha! It falls down, it's huge wings twitching slightly.

"You killed this?" Someone asks from a distance. I look down, seeing three girls, one of them holding some items in hand as if to trade.

"Yeah. MINE." I cradle the black cloths around the leaves and jump off the tree trunk. I shove them back, slinging the bird across my shoulder into my backpack.

"Who're you?" one of them asks.

"Why should I say?"

"Because, we don't trust you," another says, pulling out a rock from her pocket.

"Alright, alright, the name is Shades." I smile. "Now, kindly tell your name. 'cause I have a weapon too." I hold my slingshot.

"Niska." Her wild brown hair that slightly blocks her eyes.

"Rianne." I looked at her worn out boots, smiling slightly.

"Coral." Gee, that's some blond hair!

"So, now that we are all friends, can you tell me about that trade?" I look at her, trying to make sure she knows I'm trusting. Because I mean it. It's not like I have any allies or anything.

Solstice~

I know I'm supposed to say something about her offer, but all I can think about is her occupation. An Enforcer trainee?

Suddenly, I am laughing. Nothing maniacal, just a low chuckle.

"What?" says the girl, her body tensing.

"You're an Enforcer trainee," I say, laughing again. "An Enforcer trainee."

"I am completely aware I was an Enforcer trainee," she says. "Not anymore, though."

"But don't you see?" I said. "At one point, we were bitter enemies."

Her face contorts a little. "You mean, you're an Assassin?" she mutters.

I smile. "Oh, yes."

Hope that's okay with you, Indigo!
