Dear Future  Students,

You have been selected to attend the Griffinfeather School for Determined Children. Here you will learn about being extraordinary in an ordinary world, as well as other useful talents that are worth more than you think.

You may be wondering why we chose you out of all the people in this world. The answer is that you are extraordinary just by being yourself, full of talent because you believe in dreams, and brimming with determination simply because you believe in yourself. These qualities are what make a true superhero.

Orientation will be held on October 3rd. The attached forms will need to be filled out and sent to us by October 1st. At orientation, please bring with you along with typical boarding school neccissities:

1. A song heard by nobody's ear.

2. A word held by nobody's tongue.

3. A cloak of hiding that covers nobody's heart.

Warning: these items will not be the same for everyone.

Nobody will be admitted into Griffinfeather's School for Determined Children without these items. If you can pass this simple test, it will show that you are exactly the person we are looking for. Further instructions will follow at orientation.

Sincerely,

Sasha Night (school prinipal and Head of Training) and Winston Lendrift (teacher, Head Talent-Searcher, and head of the Pinecone League one-on-one training center)

IS IT TOO LATE?! Because... Is this us?

Name: Please call me Flake. Flake Dream...... Flake's short for *lists really long string of words that nobody really understands*

Age (11-13 year old will be working with Winston, 14-17 year olds will training with Miss Night): 13.

Personality: It varies?

Appearance: DO I REALLY HAVE TO FILL THIS OUT FOR EVERY FORM!? Okay, end rage... I'm small for my age, paper-pale, blonde with blue eyes. I know, but I like my charecters better if they share my appearance....

Background: I came from an orphanage in London, but I don't have a british accent. It's more of a very slight french. Yeah, I made up my name there as a little kid... my parents were apparently very rich, but hated children. Or something.

Talents (do not overlook even the smallest and most insignificant): Well...I can see what other people don't.

Past experiance with unicorns*: ....Well, I did read allot of fairy tales. Even wrote some. Anything with magic. So, yes, I've read about unicorns, but never seen them.

Would you like a free fried gull?**: No. I'll stick to gruel.

Other: Can I bring.... A sheet of music with made up notes. A word written with made-up syllables. And a sheet of plastic.

*Yes, we are aware of the popular belief that unicorns do not exsist. Miss Night requires your first and most honest response to this question so that she can best plan out your training schedule.

**Yes, we know that fried seagulls do not sound in the least appetizing, but Winston requires your first and most honest responce in order to correctly place you in the Pinecone League training center.

Winston~

Griffinfeather School's tiny office building is
swallowed by late afternoon shadows. I push open the door and burst
right into Sasha's office without bothering to knock. Normally, Sasha
would have my head for an offense such as this, but I have a feeling she
won't care today.

"Winston!" She says sharply as I enter the
room, dropping an ornate pen onto a stack of paperwork. She opens her
mouth to dive into a lecture, but then she looks up. I guess she can see
from my face that I have bad news.

"What is it? Spit it out. Now," she commands with an urgency to her voice, pushing back her chair.

" Salazar Slytherin." She grips the edge of the table with her red painted fingernails.

"He's out of the picture," she dismisses, but her hands still tremble slightly. Okay, back up, I'll explain about Salazar. Definition one: he's a fictional character in Harry Potter. Definition two: Salazar is a codeword for something that none of the schoolboard is allowed to talk about. "We don't want to scare the children when there is nothing to be scared of," Sasha says. But, secretly, I think that the betrayal involved still hurts her especially when he helped us...never mind, I've said too much.

Sasha~

I frown over the admission form I just recieved from Briar Aliso. Should I group her with Climb or Dream? Dream, definitely. I decide after a few moments thought. Quickly, I scribble my signature and slip the letter into a pre-addressed envelope. Another great addition to the school. The school. Before I can collect myself, a flow of memories flood my mind as if a dam broke somewhere within me. My old enemy appears in my mind–casual, unconcerned, standing with hands on hips—I could have never imagined what come next. Betrayal. Betrayal. Enemy. Drawing nearer and nearer and—

"Sasha!" The door bangs open and slams against the opposite wall. I can feel the pen slip through my fingers and fall across the table.

"Winston!" I repremand. He's too young for this. I knew he was too young. He can never be a propper teacher... I push my fears out of my head as I see his face. Something is wrong.

"Salazar Slytherin." And then the memeroies and fears come up again—pulsing and swirling. But I maintain my composure.

"He's here, Sasha, he wants the school. I know it."

"We cannot tell the children!" I whisper.

Ok, three things.

One, I'm changing my age to 14 becuase everyone else will be in that group and even though Winston sounds really fun, I'd like to interact with other charries.

Two, when I saw this, I decided to make things up, without being aware of the riddle, so my answers are REALLY random. Thankfully, Rosebud said I could go anyways. Something about being "resourceful". Phew. So, don't be weirded out by my answers. I wonder what I'll be put in?

Thirdly, I'll try to post as often as I can, even with school and stuff. Can't wait!

1. A song heard by nobody's ear.

A flute that cannot play. It may play a song, but it can be held by nobody's ear.

2. A word held by nobody's tongue.

A wooden ball with an unknown word inside it. It is a word, but no one's tongue can hold it, because no one knows it.

3. A cloak of hiding that covers nobody's heart.

A silver coin, representing money. People often try to hide behind money, possessions, and fame, yet it has never covered anyone's heart.

I'm not going to write everyone a letter, but if you read my RP posts, you'll know what group you're in.

    I'm bringing...

A sheet of music with made up notes, and words in a made up language.

A paper with the word "Voldemort" on it. If that doesn't work, I don't know what will.

And, if I wanted to be realistic, certain cloaks don't cover your heart. They go around it, but barely uncover the exact middle of your body. But a sheet of plastic.

But, I must look at this like a Ravenclaw (sorry, I'm on a Harry Potter overdose right now, by the way, my patronus is an Osprey.), which I am, this is a riddle.

    1. Silence.

True silence is deafening. You hear it, yet it is silent. To me, there is no purer song, although it cannot be heard.

    2. If Voldemort didn't work, I would write a made up word on a peice of paper, then throw it into flame.

There sits a small deaf child alone, dying on the streets. She is about to pass, when she utters a single word, heard by none. Not even her.

    3. I must agree with Money.

    Kir~

    I am bringing:

-A sheet of music that has been coated in black ink.

-A pet parrot named Nobody that will repeat the word "PIZZA" until commanded to stop.

-An invisibility cloak wrapped around a cake.

I wanted to write y'all personal letters from Sasha and Winston, but I didn't have the time. So I'll list all your groups below (except Briar and Daisy, which I already did). But first, I dreamed last night that we were all RPing our characters IN REAL LIFE. Since I can't be two people at once, I was Sasha. It was kind of funny. Also, today is orientation day! That means 1. it's the first day of school, 2. NO MORE PEOPLE CAN JOIN, and 3., let's get RPing!

    Sasha's class (three rotating groups)

    Lia Twyne—"Climb"

    October Kay—"Fantasize"

    Adrian Kay—"Dream"

    Jessie Hawking—"Fantasize."

    Klara Itsaso—"Climb"

    Kyr—"Climb"

Winston's Class (four different levels: Grow, Train, Explode, and Leap. Levels are not based on experiance or cabability; in other words, the fourth level isn't higher or harder than the first)

    Autumn Leaves—"Explode"

    Flake Dream—"Explode"

    Let the school-year begin!!

That means we can write now, right?
