Unusual Things RP

You are a normal person, at least you think so. You are an orphan, and live in the orphanage called St. Pueblos. There, you learn and other things, but strange things often happen around you(this will vary by the person). One day, a mysterious figure burns the entire orphanage down, destroying the orphanage forever. One mysterious woman comes and gathers all of you, taking you through a portal into a strange realm full of magic called the Netherealm. WE WILL START AT THE SCENE RIGHT BEFORE THE BURNING TO GET TO KNOW EACHOTHER A BIT. The more powerful your power, the greater the drawback. (ex. You have the power to heal any wound, but you will lose a tiny tiny bit of your sanity every time you use it)

Name: Shane

Age: 15

Gender: Male

Power: To control the monsters of the Netherealm, but they are supremely sensitive to his emotions and can follow orders a bit too literally. This will be unknown to others and pretends it's really that he has yet to discover it.

Appearence: Short black hair i guess...

Personality: Has some anger issues and loyal to those he grows close to.

Other: Born in Netherealm so definitely has a power of somekind.

No problem! I don't want to make you feel cheated in any way. It's annoying when people copy traits of your cherrie. I'm glad you did tell me, because if you hadn't our characters would become less unique. And neither of us want that! I'm just happy you aren't mad at me. XD

Actually, you know what? Forget the shapeshifting  thing. She can just read minds so she can find their weaknesses, fears and the best way to bribe them. Every time she does it, she risks having them see her weakness. If someone else has a mind reading power please tell me!

THe character Alinia by Leeli can read minds, but prone to faint.

Maybe Alinia could just find out what is on their minds currently, but your character can kinda go into their basic profile about their fears and info.

Seems good enough so you dont have to change it ;)

We could start now if you guys want!

~Shane

I sat at the table with Fable, being pushed to the end of the table as usual with their hustle and bustle.

"Ugh, I would do anything to go back to the Netherealm. But of course it is usually prohibited to travel to this world without an adult, or go back, so..."

"You've explained this a billion times already Shane." Fable sighed.

I sighed, but I know I can't go back, no matter what. The head of the orphanage, Miss Prissy, walked through the door to make sure we weren't causing any trouble.

Miss Prissy was nice, but the orphanage is still not ideal.

~Hanaa

I sit in the corner drawing.  I don't try to talk to the others much.  I'm too shy to talk to them. They all know me, though.  I prefer to join conversations rather than start them.

I look at the picture I've been drawing.  I drew it of the ideal me, with  a las name and some talent and a power that would make me popular.  All that is just wishful thinking, sadly.  Everyone knows superpowers are just make-believe, and I won't ever get a last name until I am adopted.

Miss Prissy walks over and looks down at the page. "What are you drawing, Hanaa, dear?"

"My ideal self," I reply, engrossed in the ruffles in the character's skirts.

"Well, it's a wonderful picture, dear.  I hope you make more just like it." I have trouble believing that statement.  I make to many pictures.  Most of them aren't even half-decent.

"Do you want it?  I ask.  I can draw another one."

"You might give it to Shena.  She might like it."

Fine.

Ya, of course Unsuspecting! (Can I call you that?) Maybe when they brake her locket of something, Boy realizes that the picturs in the locket are the same as the pics in his, and they figure out that theyre related?

Also Storm I dont really know how to start this. So maybe you could continue a ways or explaine what happened a bit better? Im still a tad confuised on the matter. (I can rhyme guys, it's not impossible!) ;)

We're just starting off in the orphanage, St. Pueblos, where we all live in.

Later, there would be this mysterious person who would burn down the orphanage, but everyone escapes of course unless they decide to leave this thread ;)

Then some lady comes by and takes all of you into the Netherealm, because we all have magical powers.

I hadn't really planed out what would happen next, but I suppose we are taken there because we are supposively THE ONES TO SOMEHOW SAVE THE WORLD FROM ALIENOID MONSTERS TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE NETHEREALM CAPITOL SOLUNA LUMADOV FOR IT'S POWER. dun dun dun....

The farther from Soluna Lumadov, the less powerful your power will be. In the outskirts where the monsters usually live, the drawback sometimes happens constantly(does not apply to permanent drawbacks, but will have somethingn weird happen). People who live in central Soluna Lumadov have their powers enhanced so much that sometimes the drawbacks are almost entirely removed if they use it there.

Ex (of outskirts magic from the same example from above) This person would loose their sanity in sudden burts that will vary from short to long if kept there. If they go away from the outskirts, this affect would disapear, and the regular drawbacks would return to them. ;)

Earth is really just a middle place of magic, so wherever your location is, the drawbacks will be the same.

Oh yeah, Dawn's weakness is that every time she generates light, she is able to see perspective, causing her to lose focus and see many different sides (sometimes making her side incorrectly) Also, I'm changing her name to Day

Foxie~

I am sitting down next to the largest window in the orphanage. It's really the most beautiful place here. Outside you can see all the flowers, birds, deer and even a few foxes. Sometimes I wish I could go out there, but there are drawbacks to having everyone think you're blind.

Even though I know there is a risk I'll get caught, I like to read the minds of the animals outside. Apparently, they can read mine too when I do that, so we can have a small conversation. They've told me about how the fresh air is clear, and how the dew on the grass is clean enough to drink. How the water in the stream looks like liquid glass, and how the flowers are aflame with all the colors of the rainbow. Now you see why I want to go out there?

Sure, in here it's OK. There are nice people here, and not so nice people here. But outside, there's nobody. And honestly, that sounds good to me.

Everyone always wanders why I sit at the window when I'm blind, I just tell them, "Hearing all those sounds from outside, makes me feel like I can see."

@Claaws what if Day and Boy get into a fight because of their diffent personalities and then they break it? Let's not make this happen until later though.

~Day

I do cartwheel after cartwheel until Miss Prissy tells me not to. She says I might break something. Yeah. True. But then again, I might not. I shrug and smile at her. She smiles back.

Oh, and I forgot: Jacob is very observant, but also very full of himself.  He can become embarrassed rather easily as well.

Jacob~

I watch the other children. Foxie is at the window. She is blind, however she seems to know what the outside looks like despite this. Day is cartwheeling, though he will probably stop soon, since Prissy doesn't like him doing so. Hanna is drawing and--Oh! Prissy stopped Day. Shane is talking about that 'Netherealm again'. I don't believe in it, however it's obvious he believes in it himself. It's actually sometimes amusing to let him go into rants about the Netherealm--

"Jacob! You should know by now staring is rude," I turn around the sharp but kindly face Miss Prissy.

Almost everything about this woman is bird like. She struts about with her head high and her back arched, with a couple of books strewn about in her steady arms. She's slender and tall, and her sharp feet tap onto the ground with a rhymic clink clink. And her face may be the most birdlike of all. She looks down onto you with intelligent eyes, which are enlarged with pink oval glasses. Her nose might even be called a beak, and her hair might even house some eggs, it's so nested and twig-like. She's rather menancing, if I have to admit, yet kind and friendly if you get to know her. She's got that stern look about her, yet it's stern because she cares.

"Get out of that head of yours Jacob," Prissy's voice brings me back to earth. "Maybe start on that book I lent to you?"

"Yes Miss Prissy," I mumble, shaking out the embarressment etched into my skin.

Ah yes, the book. As Miss Prissy walks out I carefully open it up. She was nice enough to lend me this book, despite her still reading it myself. Being the human experimenter that I am, I decided to learn how much it takes to get on Miss Prissy's nerve. I dog-eared many of the pages, random enough to make sure she doesn't think it's on purpose, yet often enough that she gets irritated by it. She sure doesn't like a ruined book. I also slightly rearranged the stuff in her bedroom, which she so carefully arranged herself. Yes, it's rather mean. However, I am a scientist and I need to run this experiment.

I return to my dog-earing quest.

Sounds good, Unsuspecting! (do you prefer that or Storyteller?)

~Boy

I sit alone in my room like usual. Or should I say, 'shared bunker room' Like Ms. Whateverhernameis allways says. 'It is your own room, but just think of it like a shared bunker room, and you're bunking with a bunch of your friends! Ya right. It's crowded, and smelly, because none of us can afford deoderant, and the Ms. Whateverhername is dosnt really care to suply it. She just stears her fatty-know-it-all self away from all us boys, and talks to us from a distance. She has her own bedroom up the stairs, next to her office that none for us are allowed in.

I sigh. Why did this happen to me? Why couldn't I have a nice family, maybe even a little sister, or a twin, or a big brother. And a dog, I've always wanted a dog.

Then the bell rang. The dinner bell. I got up off my bed and started down the stairs to the cafitiria. Maybe I could steal a fresh loaf of bread from Ms Whateverhernameis or maybe some money so I can run down the highway and find some actuall food.

Down the stairs I run into the day girl. She glares at me and I glare back, sticking out my tounge. Thats when I notice her golden braclets and locket. That may ern me some money trading.

I continue down the stairs, keeping a close eye on her. Then we're in the line, I get my um...I dont really even know what it is....and go sit down, alone. I might go sit with someone else, but for now, my eyes are scanning things to take and food to steal. I spot Ms Whateverhername is. I lick my lips.

She wont notice a peice of loaf missing, would she?
