I'm so sorry that I didn't post yesterday! We were out shopping I couldn't get online to post the new post.

Valley was dreaming again. She was sitting on her bed, thinking that she was awake when a gryphon came in. The new comer had feathers the color of emeralds, and a green body dappled with dark green spots. His eyes glowed bright yellow, fierce and glowing. For some reason Valley was not afraid. He gestured for Valley to follow him, Valley got up and walked after him as they went through a glowing yellow door. Valley was once again in a volcano, this time there was another green gryphon like the one next to Valley, but the other green gryphon didn't see them. To help, Valley called the green gryphon that didn't see them Feathers. Feathers was sneaking around, he seemed to be heading to the center of the volcano, when suddenly he was caught by a group of Snikes! He tried to break free, to run! But the Snikes over came him and took him to their leader. The Snike boss was different, but for some reason Valley couldn't see him clearly.

"Ah thank you my friends." the Boss purred.

"And thank you for joining us! I'm so glad you could, sneak in." the Boss says to Feathers.

"YOU!?" Feathers roars.

"Yes, me. I'm trying to think of a suitable punishment for a sneaking gryphon who goes where he doesn't belong." the Boss growls. "I know! You see this bracelet here?"

Valley sees a silver bracelet, inlaid with obsidian stones, made to look like a snake.

"I've been wanting to see if my Soul Sucker would work. You may be wondering what it does. I'll tell you. It'll make you crazy. It least that's the goal, if it doesn't work I'll just kill you."

Feathers looks sick, his eyes have gone blank. Then the Boss raises his bracelet. The snake's mouth opens wide, and all of Feathers' color disappears. His bright green feathers turn limp and gray. His bright yellow eyes slowly turn black, but the worst thing was how defeated the gryphon looks. A gryphon that Valley knew. His named was Bright Feathers, but was called Dark Heart. Evil laughter fills the air as Valley slowly wakes up from her nightmare.

Chapter 11~~~ The Flight Celebration

The gryphons magically wake up at the same time, and meet each other in the hotel lobby. Nika, Nightlynn, and Valley poke each other while they wait for Anthony to come down. Thunder and Skydash talk about new flight tactics they can use when their quest was finally over. After a while Anthony comes down, looked flustered.

"What took you sooooo long! We've been out here waiting for you forrrrever." Valley gasps.

"Sorry, I had to send a letter to my mother." Anthony sighs.

Valley and Nightlynn share a guilty look, since leaving to search for the Snikes they had forgotten to write to their mothers, who must be very worried about them disappearing into thin air. Silently promiseing to write the first chance they got the gryphons join the throng of gryphons leaving to the Flight Celebration. The city streets looked totally different at night than during the day. Instead of being bright, all the lights give the city a happy warm glow. Snatches of conversation can be heard as they walk toward the big field where the Flight Celebration would take place. Gryphons stand outside of their shops, ready with things to sell on the happy warm night.

"Jewelry! Bracelets and necklaces for sale!" A gryphon yells.

"Fried rabbits! Get your fried rabbits." A sky blue gryphon snaps.

"Get it fresh! The newest best NEVER BEEN SEEN TILL TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! It's new! It's fresh! It's Clouds on a Stick!!!!" A cheerful pink gryphon calls.

The Clouds on a Stick looked just like the fluffy clouds found in the sky. It was wrapped up around the stick. The gryphons were drawn to it like a moth to flames.

"Can we try some!" Nightlynn asks.

"Sure, it's just three gold pieces if you want some more." The pink gryphon says, handing them all a piece.

Anthony, Thunder, Skydash, Valley, Nika, and Nightlynn eat it. It was so light and fluffy! Melting in their mouth like nothing they had ever eaten. It left behind a tasty taste in their mouth, like honey only better.

"I'll take six sticks please." Anthony says, handing over eighteen gold pieces.

The gryphons thank Anthony for there treat and they set to eating it happily. Following the crowds again they head to the big field for the Flight Celebration. They arrive to the big field, and see a stage set up against the woods, far away from the games and food stalls. Passing by a group of young gryphons, just getting the start of their feathers in as they play tag, they follow Anthony as he leads them to the sound of music. They see a cleared off spot, with the grass flattened to the ground from the many gryphons dancing there Three young male gryphons around Nika, Valley, and Nightlynn's age come over. One was a dark chocolate brown, with bright green eyes. Another was sea green, with dark spots on his flank, and big brown eyes. The last was a quiet gray, with dark purple flashes and yellow eyes.

"I'm Walnut." the chocolate ones says, "And this is Seaweed-"

The green one smacks Walnut with his tail. "It is not! Sorry, but Walnut here is jealous of my good looks, my name real name is Sebastian."

"I'm Cumulus." the gray one whispers.

"Nice to meet you, I'm Nika." Nika says.

"I'm Nightlynn and that is Valley." Nightlynn says, while flicking her tail at Valley.

"Hi!" she says.

"Sadly for us no gryphon wants to dance!" Sebastian sighs.

"That's what you get for hanging out with me." Cumulus says.

"So, do you want to dance?" Walnut asks.

And before Nika, Nightlynn, or Valley new what happened they where whisked off to the dance floor.

"Great, now I feel like I should asks someone to dance," Anthony sighs. "Shall we dance Thunder?"

"What?! Oh, no thanks." Thunder stammers.

"Go on!," Skydash says, bumping Thunder towards Anthony. "Shoo! Go dance, have some fun. I'm going to look at the games."

Thunder soon found herself dancing with Anthony, and feeling like Nika, Valley, and Nightlynn where feeling moments before. Thunder winced, Anthony's  feet kept landing on her toes.

"Sorry, I was cursed with four left feet. It makes dancing a bother. Mother is always trying to get me into dance classes so I'll be more graceful on the dance floor. I always managed to avoid the classes but I feel like I should of listened." Anthony sighs.

"It's fine. You just need some practice." Thunder says, keeping her feet safely away from Anthony.

Skydash chuckled to herself, no matter how many times Thunder said she had no coordination on the dance floor that didn't hide the fact that Thunder was a wonderful dancer. Skydash looked around, and spied a fun looking game she went over to check it out.

"HELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! AND WELCOME TO THE BEST GAME EVER!!!! STEP RIGHT UP! STEP RIGHT UP!!!!! IF YOU CAN MANAGE TO SHOOT ALL FIVE TARGETS YOU GET A SECRET PRIZE!!!!! STEP RIGHT UP!!!" The game manager yells.

Skydash goes and look, it was an archery course with five targets. The easiest being the closest and the hardest being the farthest. Skydash walks up, the sign said for five arrows it would be one copper piece, for ten arrows it would be two silver pieces, and for fifteen arrows it would be five gold pieces.

"I'll like to try please. I want the five arrows bundle." Skydash says, handing over one copper piece.

"Ok dokey! Here's your five arrows and bow. Use as many arrows as you like on the targets, but two win the secret prize you need to hit each target once. Stand behind the white line and shoot each target when you're ready." the manager says.

Skydash walks up to the white line, feeling nervous with everyone watching and shoot the first target. It land in the center! She moves onto the second, third, and fourth target, each one landing on target. She reaches the last one, this one is fifteen feet away, she draws the arrow, shoots it, and sees it land short of the target.

"Too bad! Better luck next time. Here's your prize, you're the first one to hit all four." The manager sighs.

He hand Skydash a funny hat. It was green and white, with five long points poking out ending in chimeing bells. Skydash puts it on, feeling silly in the cool night air with the fireflies landing on her wings. She returns to the dance floor to find Anthony laying on the edge, gasping dramatically.

"Please! No more! No more!!!!!!" He gasps dramatically.

"All right we can stop." Thunder growls, smileing faintly.

Now! We shall continue the conversation!!!
~~~~
"Where are Nika, Valley, and Nightlynn?" Skydash asks.
"Still dancing, but I think their done." Thunder says.
In fact, Thunder was right. Nightlynn, Valley, and Nika where waving goodbye to Walnut, Sebastian, and Cumulus. They came over, slightly out of breath but happy.
"I say that archery game while we where dancing. Do you think I could try it?" Nightlynn asks.
"Sure! I tried it, it was fun but HARD!" Skydash says.
"Nice hat," Thunder says. "It really brings out your eyes."
"I won it at the archery game. Don't make fun of my hat, I quite like it." Skydash snaps.
They arrive once again at the archery game, Nightlynn pays the fee for five arrows and walks up to the white line.
Quickly drawing an arrow she shoots the first target with such power that the arrow flys straight through the target and into the grass behind it.  Moving onto the next three she shoots them in quick succession. The last one looms up, teasing the gryphons safely across the field. Nightlynn draws her bow, the string is taunt with power, letting it loose the arrow flies in slow motion over the field where it hits center of the target, quivering to a stop. Time speeds back up, bringing the music and laugher back with it. The sounds of Nightlynn's friends block out the manager's voice as he tries to tell Nightlynn her prize.
"THAT WAS SO COOOL!!!!!!" Valley yells.
"HOW DID YOU DO THAT?!" Nika asks, flabbergasted.
"Was that your first time with the bow?" Skydash asks.
"Um, yes it was." Nightlynn says.
"Pretty good for your first time." Thunder says.
"DO YOU WANT TO KNOW YOUR PRIZE?!" The manager yells, finally making himself heard.
"Sure." Nightlynn says, handing back the bow.
The manager shakes his head, and gives the bow back to Nightlynn. "This is your prize. Your very own bow, and arrows! And of course your quiver and an instruction guide on how to care for your bow and arrows. And for a bonus it comes with a how to make arrows section!" He says.
Nightlynn holds the bow, trying to grab the book, quiver, and arrows being thrust into her arms by the eager manager.
"Thanks!" Nightlynn says, looking at her friends for help.
"Your welcome! And please remember these arrows aren't a toy! Those are sharp and ready to for war!" The manager says, cheerfully.
"Here, let me take your arrows and put them in your quiver." Anthony says, taking all twenty five arrows and quickly slips them into the quiver.
"Thanks." Nightlynn says, putting the bow and quiver onto her back.
"GRYPHONS AND GRYPHONESSES!!!! PLEASE MAKE YOUR WAY TO THE STAGE FOR THE WELCOMING OF THE THREE LUCKY GRYPHONS WHO HAVE DONE THEIR FINAL MOLT AND ARE READY FOR THE FANCY FLYING!" A voice booms over the field.
The gryphons stop what they're doing, game managers pack up their games for now. The dance floor comes to a stop. Food sellers finish up selling food and head to the stage. Nika, Skydash, Anthony, Valley, Nightlynn, and Thunder are hard pressed not to be squashed. They follow the stream of people heading to the stage. Fireflies leave their hiding places, for fear of being squished. It took only five minutes for all the gryphons to get settled and ready to welcome the new fliers into their ranks.
"Welcome gryphons, and thank you for being here tonight, ready to congratulate these new gryphons for there new Flight Feathers. I can see some familiar faces and new ones. I'm glad that even visiting gryphons come to welcome and congratulate these three happy gryphons. Please welcome Fierce Eyes! Berry Splash! ANNND SEA BRIGHT!!!!"
Loud cheering and stamping fills the air as the three happy gryphons fly onto the stage.
"Tell me Fierce Eyes, Berry Splash, and Sea Bright. How do you feel?" the announcer asks.
"We feel happy." They answer.
"I can't hear you!!!!! Tell me HOW DO YOU FEEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
"WE FEEL HAPPY!!!" They yell.
Cheering and flapping fill the air, the gryphons were working up into a frenzy, being as loud as the can be. Shouting and yelling and squawks to welcome the three new fliers fills the air.
"As you all now, it can't be a REAL welcoming without a race for these three lucky gryphons to show their stuff! I now direct your eyes to the sky. Looking closely you can see the hoops and obstacles for the race. I'm sure you now how this is going to go! The new fliers must start on the stage, when the cow mews they will take off into the air. They will follow the track and end up on the stage. Whoever gets here first wins!" The announcer yells.
On the stage, someone wheels out a fake cow. This is the cow that will mew the start of the race.
"Are you ready? Set? Then....." The announcer starts.
Then a shriek fill the night air, blocking out the mewing cow. The three young gryphons stay still, as Snikes fly over the trees and dive down into the clearing. Fierce Eyes, Berry Splash, and Sea Bright cower as three Snikes head toward them. Then they where pushed out of the way, the announcer gryphon had leaped into them. The Snikes land onto the announcer, they leave her on the stage. She doesn't get back up. Gryphons fall beneath the Snikes as the land on them, gryphons run to shelter, hoping to get away. Some gryphons stay to fight, ready to defend there home against the invading Snikes.
"THUNDER! Follow us!" Skydash yells, taking Nika, Valley, and Nightlynn to safety.
Thunder looks around, her friends have disappeared, Anthony vanished into the darkness, Skydash, Nika, Valley, and Nightlynn enter the flow of fleeing gryphons. Thunder runs, trying to find her friends. She trips over a wing, and sees the young gryphon Walnut who danced with Nika, his eyes glassy. Soon Thunder leaves the field far behind, thinking she was following her friends when she runs into the forest, dark and creepy. That's when she hit her head on a branch and knocked herself out.
Her last though before fading into the blackness was "I hope the General doesn't hear about this..............................."
AND WE'RE BACK!!!! ARE YOU READY TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!?!?!?!?!
~~~

Thunder wakes up all alone, the sun has yet to rise and brighten the dark forest. Thunder has run farther into the woods then she ment, and looks around in the dark for a clue back to the field. Slowly she walks off, looking for a sign out of the woods. This is just like her Flight Celebration, running and being lost. Unbidden memories float to her mind.

Young Thunder is cute. Talking to her mom before her Flight Celebration. It was going to start in the afternoon and Thunder was worried she would mess things up.

"Sweetie! If you keep asking these questions your beak will fall off." Mom teases.

Thunder opens her mouth, and closes it quickly. Looking closely at her mom she realizes she's being teased.

"Mom! What if I don't win the race! What if can't even take off? Are you sure I'll be able to do this?!" Thunder asks, this was the second Flight Celebration, she couldn't make it to the first due to the pain in her wings.

"Sweetie, I know this will be tough for you. Your wings still haven't gotten better, even though the nurse said it will, eleven months ago. I'm starting to think that your wings won't ever get better." Mom sighs.

"I know... It's just, how did I get my wings like this? Will I ever get to be a Defender with wings that hurt and twinge?" Thunder asks, even as a young gryphon Thunder dreamed of becomeing a Defender like her Father.

"If you work hard enough, then anything will be possible!" Mom yells, flipping her child onto her back and tickling her belly.

They speed up to the race, Thunder is waiting for the cat to moo. Her wings hurt, like they always do when the moo comes. Leaping up she manages to get into the air, without falling over. She's up in the air, flying for the first time without hurting wings. She's just reached first place! Then fire leaps across them, ice cold and hot. The pain is back, stronger than ever. Black and red spots flash across her eyes before she's falling, falling, falling. Then she blacks out. She wakes up on the ground, her mother's bronze eyes looking at her. Bronze eyes that Thunder had gotten from her mother, the only sign that Thunder was her daughter.

"I'm sorry Mom! I failed." Then she runs into the woods ignoring her mother's calls to come back.

Soon she gets lost, until she's found later in the day.

"And the stupid pain is still here! I can't take off. Too much traveling and flying." Thunder growls.

The pain still haunted her, ten years from her hatching.

So Thunder, without any sight walked off into the woods, looking for the way out. Howls fill the air, and snapping twigs follow Thunder as she searches for a way out. She blinks, is it just her imagination or did she see candle flames? They flicker out, and more twig crunching follows. Suddenly a salty meaty smell fill the air, the wolfs have found Thunder.

"Where did Thunder go!? Where is she?!!" Skydash's panicked shriek fills the hotel.

"Skydash, I'm sure she'll be coming soon. We should wait for her." Anthony soothes.

"But what if she's lost, or or dead? We have to go find her!" Skydash frets.

"But if we leave, Thunder may go looking for us! We would go everywhere and not find each other." Anthony says.

"YOU'RE RIGHT! You stay here. I'll go find her." Skydash says, heading out the door.

Nightlynn, Nika, and Valley look at each other. Thunder was their friend to, they couldn't just go leave her.

"WAIT!! Skydash! I'm coming to!" They cry, running after Skydash's retreating flank.

They follow Skydash back to the field, the cheery fireflies don't seem to fit in with the destruction. Gryphons lay on the ground, waiting for medical assistance. Some gryphons lay still, never to get up again. The ground was torn up and covered with blood, the Snikes were nowhere in sight. And the sobbing of friends and family fills the air as they mourn for the lost lifes. Skydash scans the ground, looking for a tell tale glint of black among the oranges, greens, and other colors of fallen gryphons. All the black gryphons weren't Thunder, she wasn't among the fallen.

"Where do you think she's gone?" Valley asks.

"I don't know, maybe the woods?" Nika says.

Skydash doesn't answer, she's staring with glassy eyes at one of Thunder's feathers. Nika, Valley, and Nightlynn follow her gaze.

"That's it! NO way are we giving up. SKYDASH YOU GET A GRIP!!!! A lone feather doesn't mean she's dead. A lone feather could mean anything! You are not aloud to grieve until we see a dead body. So SNAP OUT OF IT!!!!!" Nightlynn roars, slapping Skydash on the face.

"You're right, OK. Nika I think your right, she's in the woods." Skydash says, heading to the dark and forbidding woods.

They head off, and don't see Valley was standing still.

In the mind's eye of Valley, she's looking through the eyes of another gryphon. She's running through the trees, away from the sound of wolves. She's tiering, and the wolves show no sign of stopping. Then she skids to a stop, she's at the edge of a cliff. The trees have thinned out and the wolves approach slowly, they know their prey is doomed.

Valley shoots up into the air, she doesn't know how but she's certain that the gryphon's eyes she was looking through belonged to Thunder.

"Follow me! I think I know where she is. But she's in trouble!" Valley shouts to her friends.

Skydash, Nightlynn, and Nika look at each other.

"How does she know?" They think to themselves.

They leap up into the air, following Valley's retreating shape.

And here's the new post!!!!!!!!
~~~~~~
Thunder had been running for a long time. Ever since she realized that she was being  stalked. Her running had brought her to the edge of a cliff, the perfect spot for a take off... if her wings stopped hurting.
"I'm going to die. And no one will know how. I'm sorry Skydash." Thunder thinks numbly to herself.
Suddenly the brown, black, orange, and blue feathers of her friends are in front of her, growling at the wolves. The wolves, seeing the four new gryphons run off.
"THUNDER WE FOUND YOU!!!" Skydash yells, hugging Thunder.
"No time for long hellos, those wolves will be back with more. We need to go. Now." Nika growls, leaping off the cliff and into the air.
Nightlynn, Valley, and Skydash follow her. If they noticed Thunder hesitating they didn't say a thing. Soon they were in the sky, with the light glow of dawn approaching.
"Valley. How did you know?" Nightlynn growls.
"Well uh..." Valley stammers.
Everybody is looking at her, except Thunder who has no idea about the drama going on.
"Yes how did you know? No excuses." Skydash says.
"Well, I may of sort of say it." Valley whispers.
Three blank stares answer her.
"Well I was looking through Thunder's eyes... I think." Valley whispers hoarsely.
Even Thunder was listening now.
"Has this happened before?" Nika asks.
"Well, um. That was the first time it happened when I was awake." Valley is now talking so quietly that her friends
were having trouble hearing her.
"You mean it's happened in your sleep?!" Thunder roars.
Valley winces, she feels like she's doing something wrong.
"Thunder, are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Skydash asks.
"If you're thinking we have a budding Dream Stalker, then yes I'm thinking what you're thinking." Thunder grins.
"WHAT??!?!?!!?!" Three voices ask.
"Well, a Dream Stalker has visions of the future, visions of the present, and in rare cases visions of the past." Skydash says.
"Most Dream Stalkers are good at seeing the future, past, or present. Most of these come in dreams. But sometimes they have a vision in the day time." Thunder says.
"The most powerful ones can see all three and walk in others' dreams." Skydash says.
"Not to mention that most of them are scatterbrained and kind of errm um..." Thunder trails off, unsure of how to explain.
"Not good at paying attention." Skydash fills in.
"RIGHT! That. Gryphons presume that's because they're always looking out for signs." Thunder says.
"What do you mean signs?" Valley asks.
"Well, sometimes it can be the wing, a feather, they can even follow bugs for reasons unknown." Skydash says.
By now the sun has come up, shedding light onto the green and orange trees below. Has the trees give way to the field and the field gives way to the city below. The flying gryphons eyes fall down lower and lower, as sleep finally catches up to them. They enter the hotel, and walk up to there rooms. Anthony sees that Thunder is with them and follows them up. Soon they're crashing to sleep in there soft beds.
Chapter 12~~ Moving Along
The gryphons had been sleeping for two days since they crashed to sleep on the night of the Flight Celebration. They had finally awoken to the bright sun and cheery sound of chirping birds. They went down to the Dinning Hall, ready for some breakfast and planning on where to go next.
"Valley! Look I've been teaching Violet to do tricks!" Nika says, when they've sat down at the table.
"Really! That's so cool! Can I see one?" Valley asks.
"Sure," Nika says setting up a hoop on a stick and setting down a little ball. "Violet, play ball."
Violet slides over to the ball, picks it up the best a snail could, and dunked it down the hoop.
"Good girl!" Nika says, handing Violet a piece of an oatmeal cookie.
The gryphons applaud Violet's perfect trick.
"That's so cute! I'm going to train Arbor to do a few tricks too." Valley coos, pulling Arbor out and setting him on the table.
"May I take your order?" A waiter asks.
"I think we'll do the breakfast buffet." Anthony says.
After Anthony says this the waiter is hard pressed not the be squished by the eager gryphons running for the buffet table. Thunder, Anthony, and Skydash follow Nightlynn, Valley, and Nika at a slower -and safer- pace. They reach the buffet table and load up their plates with the tastiest food. They had fried rabbits, boars, pigs, and cows. Grilled salmon, bass, and pike filled the platters. Chicken, pigeon, and emu were smoked to perfection. Boiled quail eggs, chicken eggs, and ostrich eggs were among the egg section. Omelets, fried eggs, and scrambled eggs were freshly made and ready to be taken. Bisects and cheese sandwiches laid side by side. Strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries were set out on a fruit platter. Watermelons and cantaloupes were ready to be taken. Bananas, peaches, apples, and pears just washed and ready to be peeled and eaten. And the drinks! They had water, milk, and fruit juice beckoning the gryphons to try them.
"I don't know what to have!!!" Nightlynn yells sadly, the food looked so good she wanted everything.
"Don't forget it's an All You Can Eat Buffet." Skydash says, coming up behind Nightlynn.
"You're right! I'll just get a bit of everything." Nightlynn says.
Thunder can barely be seen, hidden behind the food piled up high on her plate.
"Are you sure you got enough to eat?" Skydash says.
"Hmm, you're right! I need more bass." Thunder says, leaping up to get more bass.
"Valley! If you say 'orange' three times it sounds like gullible." Nika says.
"Really?! Let me try. Orange, orange, orange." Valley rattles off.
She frowns, Nightlynn and Nika are trying not to laugh
"That doesn't.... Oh I get it. Very funny guys." Valley growls.
Nightlynn and Nika finally let their giggles out. Valley tries to keep her disapproving frown on but it slips away as she give into the laughter. Thunder soon arrives back with her extra plate of bass, and digs into the food with much gusto. For a while the only sounds that could be heard are the crunching of six starving gryphons as they eat. Soon all the food is gone, and they start talking on where to go.
"Are we going to Mt. Ignis? Or are we going to go back home?" Valley asks.
"I think we should go to Mt. Ignis." Thunder says.
"I agree. But how are we going to get there?" Nika says.
"If you want to go the quickest way, you should go over the Casper Sea." Anthony says.
"You're right, will you be joining us?" Thunder asks.
"No, sorry. Mother says that I need to go home. But maybe I'll catch up with you later." Anthony sighs.
"Was that Healcast I just saw?!" Valley exclaims.
The gryphons look to where she's pointing, they think they saw a flash of white feathers but can't be sure.
"Nevermind, she's gone. I don't think that was even her." Valley says.
"Is there a safer way to go than the Casper Sea?" Skydash wonders.
"There is, but it's going to be a week longer. If you go by the Casper Sea, then you'll be there in three days. Following a land route will take a month at least." Anthony says.
"Why is it called the Casper Sea?" Nightlynn asks.
"I'll tell the story. If no one else wants to." Anthony says.
No one objects, they all think that Anthony was a wonderful story teller and wanted to hear him telling the story. I must say that the gryphons are right, his story telling is only second best to the Great Teller. And so he began his story.
~~~
Stay tuned for the story of the Casper Sea!!!!!!

~~~
Once there was a brave adventurer named Julius. His feathers were the darkest blue, like the sea at night. What made him a great adventurer was that his feathers shed water like is was nothing. One day, he decided to travel across sea. Gryphons said, that whoever can reach the other side should name the sea, so this sea went nameless for a hundred years. Julius set off, with nothing but his wits and water shedding wings for help. He traveled for a week without incident, but on the eight day a terrible storm comes up. The waves roared up, thunder boomed and lighting flashed, filling the night sky with light. Soon the pounding rain, and jumping sea became to much for our brave explorer. He fell into the sea, thinking that he would die in the dark unforgiving waves. He awoke to the glaring sun, his mouth was parched with thirst from the gallons of salt water he swallowed. Slowly he got up, and shook as much stiffness from his feathers as he can, he then set off to search for fresh water. He traveled along the beach, before entering the jungle. Soon he found a stream, and drank from it gratefully. After some water and food, he decided to explore the island before setting back off on his quest. He found a tribe of strange creatures hidden deep in the jungle. They were smaller than him, about half his size. They also had the heads of raptors, but the body of horses. There wings were smaller, made for quick flight and deep sea diving. When they saw him, they smiled and ran up to greet him.
"Hello sir," One said. "Are you lost?"
"Yes, I am. Might I ask if you can lead me to the shore. I got lost while looking for the beach." Julius said.
The creatures' faces fell, they looked like sad little fledgeling who can't have dessert.
"Please stay! For a few days at least. We rarely get any visitors and it's lonely here without new faces." The same
creature said.
"Oh. OK. My name is Julius I'm a gryphon. I hail from across the sea. And who are you?" He said.
"I'm Berry, of the Caspers. I'm so glad you could stay!" She exclaimed happily.
Soon Julius was overwhelmed by the Caspers, they all had come up to introduce themselves.
"I am Great Wing. The leader of this small tribe," A brown and white speckled one rasped. "Please let me lead you to your house. I know it seems kind of silly, but we always have a guest home ready, just in case. Berry will bring you some food. Then she will show you around. We're going to have a feast to welcome you."
"Thank you! I'll look forward to it." Julius said
The leader took Julius to his house, a single room with a bed, table, and chairs.
"I'll leave you to get settled in, Berry will be here soon with your snack." Great Wing hacked.
Julius nods, and looked around his house while Great Wing leaves. Soon Berry comes with the food. A huge platter of berries and fruit. With some strange meat that Julius had never seen.
"What's this here?" He asked, pointing at the strange meat.
"That's called tapir. They look like pigs, but bigger and with a longer nose." She giggled.
Julius took a bite of the tapir, and soon eats it all. Quickly the sticky and juicy fruits followed.
"Please follow me." Berry said, after Julius had finished his snack.
He followed her has she started the tour of the village.
"That is the chiefs house, the rest of the houses are around it as you can see. This is the square, and the river is over there. That's about it, we don't really have a big town." Berry said quickly.
"May be you can take me on a tour of the jungle." Julius suggested
"Sure!" Berry yelled, leading him into the jungle.
They returned to the village as the sun set. The smell of cooked meat filled the air. Berry led Julius to his seat, and the Caspers took out an impressing spread. Mashed bananas with milk mixed in was the first course. The second course was fruit, the third course was all the birds in the jungle, roasted, grilled you name it! They had it. The fourth course was fish, and the fifth course was all the land meat that could be found. The sixth and final course was dessert. Pies and cakes were laid out. As well has a strange thing called pudding, berries covered in suger and honey were laid out proudly. The night was merry, with talking and laughing filling the air. Julius went to sleep that night, full and happy. The days passed by in the same manner, exploring the jungle with Berry and eating huge dinners, lunches, and breakfasts. Julius seemed to of forgotten that he was supposed to leave one day. As the days went by, he got fatter and fatter and lost his memory to where he needed to go. One night Julius woke up confused, his feet appeared to be tied together and he was being carried outside of his house. A huge fire roared in the village square, he had no idea what was going on.
"WELCOME TO OUR FEAST!" Great Wing yelled.
"What's going on?!" Julius asked.
"We're going to have a feast, with YOU as the main course." Berry growled.
The crowd of Caspers seemed to change before Julius' eyes... or maybe they were opened for the fist time. The  Caspers' feathers became ragged, and their eyes glowed red with bloodlust. Their beaks reveled to have sharp teeth, like land piranhas The stomping of their feet and the yells of the Caspers hurt Julius' head, but what hurt most of all was that he was going to die.
"TOSS HIM IN!!!" Great Wing yelled.
But luckily for Julius, one of the ropes was loose. He broke free, and opened his wings for the first time in days. He struggled to take off, his fat belly hung below him. After what seemed like an eternity, but what was really five seconds he took to the sky. The Caspers followed him, like a crowd of very big and angry bats. But, after Julius left the island it disappeared into the mist, and he found himself at the other side of the sea. Gryphons celebrated, he had been gone for what seemed like half a year at the island but turned out to be a long year and a half. Julius named the sea Casper Sea, and the island that he was trapped on Death Island.
Here we are with the newest and next post!!!!!
~~~~~~
Anthony's story ended, and the gryphons shook themselves out of the story stupor. The gryphons soon realized that the loud sound of the Dinning Hall had quieted, it seemed like all the gryphons there were listening to the story.
"And that is how the Casper Sea was named!" Anthony cheerfully exclaims.
The sound of chatter and clatter resumes, the gryphons were pretending like they weren't listening to Anthony's story telling.
"That story makes me want to use the safe land trip." Valley says, half joking half not.
"Don't worry, it's probably not real. I mean, who heard of creatures with raptor heads and horse bodies!?" Nika says.
"But if it was fake, why tell that story at all?" Thunder asks.
The gryphons glare at Thunder, the look said all to clearly 'THAT'S NOT HELPING.'
"Gryphons just assume that the storm is real. They say that Julius just landed on an island and dreamed the whole thing." Anthony says.
"But that doesn't explain the whole gone for a year and a half thing." Thunder growls.
"True, the story does have some holes in it, but that doesn't mean it's real." Anthony agrees.
"We should go. Before I loose my courage and take the land route." Valley says.
The others agree, and get up to leave the hotel. Thunder looks sadly at the buffet table, sighs and follows her friends out.
The gryphons arrive at the sea that afternoon. The day was perfect, with a light breeze and big fluffy clouds.
The sky was blue, and the sea below sparkled like diamonds. Palm trees dotted the shore, seashells stuck half in the sand look up at the flying gryphons above.
"Isn't the day PERFECT!!!!!!!" Valley yells, doing a quick dive before pulling back up.
"Can we stay for a second and look for seashells. Please!!" Nika begs.
"Fine." Thunder growls.
Nightlynn, Valley, and Nika dive down to the shoreline, and land on the sand happily. Thunder and Skydash follow.
"I bet I'll find the prettiest shell!" Nightlynn yells.
"Is that a challenge! Because I will find the best and prettiest shell." Nika calls out.
"Me to! Me to! I'll find that shell!" Valley says.
"Remember, we have to leave soon." Skydash says.
"Call us when it's time. You can be the judges!" Nika replies.
Thunder rolls her eyes, and lays down on the sand waiting to go. Skydash wades out into the salty sea, looking for fish for a snack before they leave.
