RPing has been getting a bit boring lately. People aren't trying as hard, and, since it's only done for fun, our writing skills aren't being exercised as much. A contest would challenge us and really make us work hard on our entries.
How it works:
This contest will be categorized by genres. Everyone will tell us their top three choices for which genre they want to do, then it’ll be assigned by us. Four people will be in each group, and we’ll make all the threads in BaB because BaB isn’t as active and won’t be as clogged up. You get to choose your own groups, so feel free to sort that out in this thread. Please commit! The RPs will finish in four weeks, so plan your time accordingly!
The genres are as follows:
Fantasy
Science Fiction
Horror (Are you sure the Admins will allow this?)
Realistic Fiction
Historical Fiction
Mystery
Once your groups are formed and the genres have been decided, we recommend making a planning thread to sort out what you want to do with your RP.

I'm not trying to accuse anyone here, but I will say that Mei made some changes and rules without consulting me first. Originally we did intend for you to create your own groups. I think Mei's reasoning is that this thread was getting really chaotic and disorganized, which I do agree with.

So, we started making teams. We're going to try to stick with what you guys were doing as close as possible, don't worry.
However:
@LEELI, KILLIM, NEBULA, LUCY, DANIE, SEPTEMBER, AND ROSE BUD:
We have two fantasy groups formed, and I need to hear back from you. How many of you hard-core need to be in Fantasy? How many of you wouldn't mind being in a different group? If you don't mind, please tell us which you would prefer. Remember, in the end there can only be four people on the fantasy team.

I like doing fantasy, and I'm also really good at it. I'd like to try something new, though, so I'd go either way.

I would be more than happy to be on either a fantasy or realistic fiction team. If I'm feeling brave, I'll attempt some sci-fi (I'm writing a dystopian-ish novella called Death Drop that has some sci-fi elements), so I wouldn't mind being put in that group either.

@Mericakoni Somebody, Silverwaxwing, Fireburst, and Treble Clef:
Two of you requested mystery, and two horror. I don't think that a two-person RP will work out, but is that what you want? Also, the four of you could join together for a mystery-horror combo RP. If neither idea sounds good, we could put you in with the other teams.
