I looked at the walls of my office. I had quite the collection. Various number of various feathers... even a phoenix one.

Ah, the phoenix feather. There lied the dilemma.

I was a collecter once. Of course, now I'm retired, but once I traveled the world, collecting the feathers of birds. That was years ago, however. 1880.

The phoenix feather gave me the most hassle. Phoenixes, you see, are magical birds. Free spirits. Resurrecting. Their feathers behave similarly when seperated from the bird, but this feather was acting up.

Because somewhere, somehow, the previous owner of this feather had died.

And if I couldn't bring it back to life, I would probably die too.

Feathers. Simple things turned into complicated mechanisms. I love it. I have many, and I take pride in tending them. Occasionally one falls out and I rejoice, for maybe somebody will find it and find out that I exist.

I only had one friend. That friend recently died. He was a pheonix named Ingit. Oh, and my name is Aylete.

Is this okay?
