Huh. A feather with my name on it... *smiles thoughtfully*

Emblem, the phoenix has arisen. Emblem, the phoenox has arisen.

I prick my ears. Faint song drifts on the wind. It sounds distant and close at the same time, as though it does not belong here right at this moment. Somehow I feel as though I shall hear it again, when Ignit is alive again. I rush towards the music, but it fades quickly. Then, I see a figure darting between the trees. I pursue it, and soon tackle it to the ground. The figure shrieks.

"Don't hurt me! I'm a friend!" It says as it throws it's arms up over it's face. I step back, my silver feathers bristling. Its eyes widen. "My name is Kiwi... I think I have one of your feathers... Its back there, along with a phoenix feather." My own eyes widen.

"My name is Emblem. Get on my back, and take me to this phoenix feather."

~~

I don't actually know whether Kiwi is a boy or girl...

~The quiet of the forest greeted Kiwi as she flitted in and out of the trees. The song followed her as she went, warming her strangely from head to toe. She kept seeing a gold glimmer out of the corner of her eye, and each time whipped around to nothing out of the ordinary. The seventh time it happened, Kiwi looked down, realizing the shimmer was radiating from her. She beamed at herself. A shimmery fairy. A shimmery fairy with phoenix-song in her wake. What could be better? The song faded and the drowning silence returned as Kiwi landed on the path. A strange snapping noise sounded from somewhere close by, and, without warning, a silver form tackled her to the ground. Kiwi shrieked. She shoved the feathery beast away, and dusted the snow off of her jeans. She turned to face the creature and jumped. It was the majestic beast that had accompanied the phoenix. The creature demanded to know who she was.

“I-I’m Kiwi... I think I have one of your feathers? I put it back there with a phoenix feather.” Kiwi stuttered. The beast looked puzzled, as if it had no memory of this meeting.

“My name is Emblem. Get on my back, and take me to this phoenix feather.” The creature said briskly. Kiwi gestured to her wings.

“I can fly...” Emblem merely gestured to its back once again. Kiwi nodded awkwardly and, not trusting the creature entirely, turned into her blue jay form and perched on the beast’s back. It nodded its head and with a blink she brought it to Inkwell hall. Leading it onward, she took it down a set of stairs to Tier 2 where the golden arch still shone proudly from the hall of dark wooden doors. The creature’s jaw dropped in wonder as it peered in from the threshold.

“Don’t you remember?” Emblem didn’t respond or make any sign that it had even heard anything she had said. It finally turned, indicating the phoenix feather

“Where did you get this feather?”

“The phoenix gave it to me.” The creature looked dumbfounded. “He did. Remember when you took the cookie from me earlier?” A spark of recognition danced in the beast’s eyes.

“Then why are you so fuzzy-looking?” It cocked its head at Kiwi.

“Because I’m a CBer, but which, nobody knows. So are you, but you’re in the form of a creature, so you aren’t blurred. If I weren’t blurred, everyone could see who I was.” Emblem nodded. “So if I do this-“ Kiwi turned to her blue jay form, “I’m no longer blurred, but I’m still anonymous.”

“Who’s are you then?” It questioned. Kiwi smiled.

“Because of the magic of this story, I cannot tell, but there are many clues. Too many in fact. But as the phoenix said, ‘Let them guess.’”~

This is Viola?, once again. I've been thinking about Quetzalcoatl lately.

I don't think the questzalquatels had any feathers... Wait. Are we talking about the same thing? I'm talking about the giant pteradactyl like pterosaurs.

Viola? present. It's just too weird to see my actual name next to the thread title.

It's me, Viola?, standing over the piles of loose feathers and plot threads, wondering how this slipped away.

Viola?, here once more. I love barn swallows. They're so pretty. Did you know they can hover, just like hummingbirds? I saw some doing it while I was in Scotland. I don't think they can keep it up for too long, but they did.

Is this over? *Disappointed sigh* We hadn't even gotten to Ignit's rising! Oh. Then I guess it's not over... Yay! I don't have to reveal who I am yet! XP

It won't be over for a while. I (Viola, btw) still have a few birds left.

@Kiwi are you Clockwork Sparrow (or S. Clockwork whatever XP), artisticbirdie, or Viola? ?

~Kiwi stared at the majestic beast. Ignit's rising hadn't happened yet? Did this creature remember nothing that had happened only a few hours before?

"Don't you remember?" Kiwi asked once again. Perhaps it hadn't seen, perhaps it was only in a dream when that happened. A memory. But how could someone, or something, forget such an event as that? Kiwi then remembered that this beast lived only in this thread. Perhaps that was why it could not remember the climactic cookie chase, or the phoenix's rising. Kiwi pulled out her wand again, and produced a portal. A way in which the beast could see.

Kiwi touched the string of characters, and she and the majestic creature were whisked away into a memory.~
