Sanvri. It may

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Sanvri. It may

Sanvri. It may seem a strange world to you, with many known things being flipped upside down as it would seem. Nevertheless, you live here. Mayhaps you are a human, an elf, a dwarf, a gnome, perhaps a halfling, or one of the dragon-kin. No matter who you are, or where you have come from—you will shape the world.

So. Who are you? Are you an elf? The elves are a horse people, and can speak to their horses. The horses live as long as they do—about 300 years. High elves live in cities, raising powerful lines to be the horses of heroes; viri horses. Wood elves live in the wilds as nomads, raising the fleetest, most sturdy horses to walk this earth. However, some high elves speak of splitting: they want to live in mountain halls, as if they were dwarves. They want to breed what they call ‘draft’ horses and smaller, stronger horses. All grown (45 years or older) elves have their own horse, a true friend and partner to them. Chosen from their parents herd, this is how they will start their own line of horses. They tend to live in western wooded Dekita, Tamren, and Hanye.

For each of these, they move to a new island, and take part in a new ceremony. The Ka Moku Moku are always on the move, with most of their livelihood in their canoes. Living in the mountain halls, each in their own clan. They keep to themselves, and generally look down on all other races because they feel that they are the only ones who should be able to have and use magic. It doesn’t earn them a lot of friends. You people of this "inkwell" could call this a 'solo write' crossed with a 'simulator'. I will tell you what happens to your people. At times, you will be required to answer a question in order for me to tell more. Otherwise, that person will be stuck in a time loop. And that’s not fair to them.

I will need the following information to be able to find this person you speak of to track them. Please give me as much information as possible. Some of your answers may end up needing to be adjusted in order to find the person, if you have been accidentally misinformed of a piece of culture, etc, etc.

What is their name?

Race?

Age?

Male or Female?

Where are they from?

Where do they live now?

Who were their parents? (Please, do not be afraid to tell me of half-race heritage.)

What did their parents do for a living?

What relatives of theirs are alive, and which are they in contact with?

What does this person do for a living? (If applicable.)

Do they enjoy their work?

What does this person look like?

Are they married?

Do they have children? (If applicable.)

What is the one thing they want most?

How would you describe their personality? (A trifling detail, if you do not answer, their personality may change and you may not recognize the person, even if I do.)

What skills do they have?

What do they think about magic?

Additional information would be appreciated, but I do not think necessary.

Once this message appears, I will give you the map of the world, so that you might have a better idea of where everything is located. Please, excuse me for giving almost too much detail. I will begin telling you of the history as soon as the first person fully appears. Additional people will be added until I say that’s enough. The tale, too, ends when it ends.

All is fine, you made it, did you not?

The background is good, my other questions were meant to kind of shape the background around and make it almost on the surface, but not, so your vague idea is exactly what I wanted. I completely didn't think about shipping. Literally at all.

So.

@Everyone if you would mind just writing down whether your character is alright with being shipped or not, and if shipping with other people's characters is acceptable or if you'd rather they be shipped with an NPC. Many thanks.

Hmm. Well, Faolan isnt the type to marry so maybe just a flitting crush. Preferably with one of the CBrs characters. Thats probably about it!

Also, can I say again how much I love your writing? It's so eloquent! And it reads so smooth. I love it <3 Amazing job, Ch- er- Messenger.

Many thanks, Esquire! Your imput is greatly appreciated. (I am awfully sorry about continuing to call you Esquire, but it seems to fit with the persona I'm using ... If you mind, please tell me.) Also, I must compliment you back, now that you know who I am. Your writing was grown and improved so very much. It is very beautiful.

Hmm... I suppose Jakren would be open to shipping, though I also hadn’t really thought about it before either. Either gender is fine, and preferably with someone else’s character rather than an npc.

Cho/Messenger - keep it up! I really love your story!

Nyarai may be shipped. Remember, she's the kind of person who will have passionate, sudden, short crushes, often quite fleeting, and if the love is returned by more than one person she is never sure which way to turn. She is the type to eventually settle down, however.

Aeronwy Besvarjelse nodded at her customer. “This is the feeling you want, yes?” She asked, whispering the runes “enkel lycka,” under her breath. Simple happiness. The dwarf, Dag Framkallade nodded his head, and closed his eyes, no doubt the feeling washing over him. “And then you want me to find memories like this?” She asked.
Dag nodded, his shoulders dropping, and sighing as he opened his eyes. “Even that did me some good. Thank you, lass.” Aeronwy smiled. “If you’ll wait a moment more, sir—” She said. She grabbed her rune book, flipping open to the back where she had written the most powerful combinations for the most requested services.
It was simple set of runes. A call to memories the exact feeling wanted, a shout to keep back ones which were similar, but not quite the same, and finally whisper to sort through the excess memories, only bringing up the ones which would speak clearly and vividly to Dag. She began to recite the runes when the door flew open. Dag let out a shout, and Aeronwy slammed down her book on the table. She quickly noted that it was a stout Arbeidskilden Verzauberung man.
She took a deep breath and smiled. “Sir, please wait a moment. I must finish lending my services to this man, and then I can help you.” He frowned, but sighed, and sat down on a nearby sheepskin. His Arbeidskilden tattoo seemed to glow in the dim light.
Aeronwy began again, this time adding a calming chant, as being interrupted brought foul terrors to the top of the mind. This would help them to settle back down. When she finished, Dag straightened his posture and smiled. “Thank you, lass. Your work helps me get through the day.” He smiled and bowed. He was her only frequent customer, but he paid well and was friendly. Sometimes he would bring his small daughter, Sonja, to say hello. “No charge for the extra part, it’s my fault.” Aeronwy said. Dag nodded, and handed her the small pouch containing the usual payment. She weighed it for a moment, checking to make sure he hadn’t thrown in a couple of extra pieces of gold. He did it sometimes when she refused.
He left, bowing to the Verzauberung representative. “Pardon me, sir.” Aeronwy said, bowing to the man. “Can I help you?” She asked with a smile.
"Yes, you can. Hopefully.” He said pessimistically.  “Last couple of folks I went to didn’t have much by the way of manners. I’ve been trying to find you, miss.” He said, puffing his chest out with pride. “Me, sir?” Aeronwy asked, rather astonished.
"Yes, miss.” He said, nodding. “There’s some fellow in my Arbeid who’s got some kind of a sickness. We were wondering if you might be able to help in some way. I know that this is mostly a Abschuworung job, but he’s having a hard time breathing, he’s just coughing all over the place. We were wondering if you might be able to help him calm down. Create an illusion av peace, you know? We don’t want to pay much—” At this he shuffled his feet, looking down. “So that’s why we're coming to you.”

@Admins, to make your job slightly easier, all non-english words I am using are just what I’ve found on Google translate, using certain languages to reflect the cultures of the people.
@The Riddler, thank you for the information and the support.
@Moonlight, thank you for replying back to Laila's part of the story, it is long enough, thank you, and thank you for replying back to whether or not she should/would be shipped.
@Jithkeeper, thank you again for weighing in. (I had already guessed that she would likely end up being shipped, as you noted in her original character sheet that she would frequently have crushes.)

Aeronwy turned it over in her mind. She’d never performed a healing-related job before...but she truly wanted to help the man and his friend. It was surely worth a try.

“Alright...I’ll do it.” She nodded. “Or at least I can try. I can’t guarantee it’ll work—I’ve never done something like this before—but I’ll give it a go.”

The man seemed to brighten. “Thank you, Miss.”

Aeronwy picked up her rune book, tucking it under her arm, and turned back to the man. “Take me to your friend.”

Aeronwy was led through the dark city, going around instead of through the major hubs of activity. Soon they reached a house carved into a darker grey rock. “Come quick,” The Verzauberung man said, opening the door. A woman with a baby on her hip stood to one side, her face creased with worry. “Styresman Steinar,” She said as they entered, the sound of coughing resounding in Aeronwy’s head.

"Aye,” Steinar replied. “What is it?” He asked, crinkling his forehead up. “My Ingvar is doing worse.” She said, a tear slipping down her cheek. “I got someone else from Abschuworung, and they agreed with the first: they’ve never seen the like of this before.” The Styresman held up a hand, as if to hold back her words, and continued in. Aeronwy followed, still clutching the rune book tight.

Many Verzauberung men were gathered around the sick man’s sheepskin. They seemed to truly care for him. “I have more help. Move.” Steinar said briefly. The men moved, and Aeronwy slipped in. She stopped, horrified by what she saw. The man was an ashen grey color, bobbing up and down while he coughed. A few black boils protruded from his skin.

"Hilf uns,” Aeronwy murmured. Help us. Her cry seemed to echo through the room. The two healers looked at her, appearing to be disgruntled that a woman should be joining them. “I will speak some calming runes to him. You should be able to help him then.” Aeronwy said, trying to summon up her courage. This man was obviously very sick, and she wanted to help him in any way she could.

She began by whispering calming runes, then added a few shouts of ones to bring feelings of euphoria and satisfaction. He began to cough less and less, and was soon asleep. When Aeronwy straightened, she realized that everyone was looking at her. She smiled, hoping to disarm the company with that. She knew it was because she was a woman.

"I could feel that,” Steinar said. “I didn’t do it well enough?” Aeronwy asked, feeling rather dazed. She had thought that she had been speaking runes for a single person, not for a group! She began to thumb through her rune book, checking which ones she had used. But when she looked up, Steinar shook his head. “No. My wife is Vostellung as well. You spoke the single runes, but some of that happened to overflow onto us.” He stepped past her, patting her on the shoulder as he went. Aeronwy felt even more dazed, almost as if the world was swooping by her.

"You have a talent.” One of the other men said, as a few of them filtered out of the bedroom into the front room. Aeronwy followed, trying to steady her breath. Steinar handed her a pouch. “Thirty gold pieces in there, Miss. Paid by the Arbeid.” The sick man’s wife tried to protest, but when Steinar shook his head, she smiled tearfully at him. “You, Vostellung girl.” Steinar said. “Yes?” Aeronwy asked. “My name’s Aeronwy, if you please, sir.” She said, a bit firmly.  He grinned. “Yes, you deserve a bit of respect, Aeronwy. I was wondering if you would like my guild’s patronage. Or rather, to be part of the guild. I know it is a bit of an unusual proposition, as usually you seek your own guild’s, but you have talent, and if you do not have the official seal of your guild—yes, I saw you do not display it on your door—then maybe you could help the Verzauberung out?”

@Kitten, many thanks for your feedback.

Aeronwy stared at Steinar, a little taken aback. Was he really offering for her to be in the Verzauberung guild? It was fairly rare to be in a guild that did not belong to your clan, and even rarer for a dwarf woman to be in a guild at all. She had always wanted to belong to the Besvarjelse guild, but it had always been doubtful she would get in. And then again, she hadn’t ever considered being another clan’s guild, and perhaps the Verzauberung guild would be even better. The more she thought about it, the more she realized it only made sense to accept. She would have been stupid not to, really.

”Y-yes. Yes, I would love to,” she said, a small smile growing on her face. “Thank you, sir.”
