Sanvri. It may

Chatterbox: Inkwell

Sanvri. It may

Sanvri. It may seem a strange world to you, with many known things being flipped upside down as it would seem. Nevertheless, you live here. Mayhaps you are a human, an elf, a dwarf, a gnome, perhaps a halfling, or one of the dragon-kin. No matter who you are, or where you have come from—you will shape the world.

So. Who are you? Are you an elf? The elves are a horse people, and can speak to their horses. The horses live as long as they do—about 300 years. High elves live in cities, raising powerful lines to be the horses of heroes; viri horses. Wood elves live in the wilds as nomads, raising the fleetest, most sturdy horses to walk this earth. However, some high elves speak of splitting: they want to live in mountain halls, as if they were dwarves. They want to breed what they call ‘draft’ horses and smaller, stronger horses. All grown (45 years or older) elves have their own horse, a true friend and partner to them. Chosen from their parents herd, this is how they will start their own line of horses. They tend to live in western wooded Dekita, Tamren, and Hanye.

For each of these, they move to a new island, and take part in a new ceremony. The Ka Moku Moku are always on the move, with most of their livelihood in their canoes. You people of this "inkwell" could call this a 'solo write' crossed with a 'simulator'. I will tell you what happens to your people. At times, you will be required to answer a question in order for me to tell more. Otherwise, that person will be stuck in a time loop. And that’s not fair to them.

I will need the following information to be able to find this person you speak of to track them. Please give me as much information as possible. Some of your answers may end up needing to be adjusted in order to find the person, if you have been accidentally misinformed of a piece of culture, etc, etc.

What is their name?

Race?

Age?

Male or Female?

Where are they from?

Where do they live now?

Who were their parents? (Please, do not be afraid to tell me of half-race heritage.)

What did their parents do for a living?

What relatives of theirs are alive, and which are they in contact with?

What does this person do for a living? (If applicable.)

Do they enjoy their work?

What does this person look like?

Are they married?

Do they have children? (If applicable.)

What is the one thing they want most?

How would you describe their personality? (A trifling detail, if you do not answer, their personality may change and you may not recognize the person, even if I do.)

What skills do they have?

What do they think about magic?

Additional information would be appreciated, but I do not think necessary.

Once this message appears, I will give you the map of the world, so that you might have a better idea of where everything is located. Please, excuse me for giving almost too much detail. I will begin telling you of the history as soon as the first person fully appears. Additional people will be added until I say that’s enough. The tale, too, ends when it ends.

Aeronwy smiled at Steinar. “No. Thank you.” He said. He opened the front door for her, gesturing. Aeronwy waited for him. “Please, sir, I need to know the limits of my contract.” She frowned. “It is a contract, isn’t it?” She asked.

Steinar laughed. Not at her, exactly, but more like a friend sharing a joke. “Yes, it’ll be a contract. I don’t want to hurt your business with it, though. Simply let all your old customers know where your new location is, and they can come in."

"My new location, sir?” Aeronwy asked, trotting to keep up with him. “Yes, we can’t come down to the Borgerskap of the Besvarjelse, now can we? It’s a bit of a hike to come every time. We’ll give you a house in the Arbeiten district. And your own workshop in the Arbeitsbereich. My area, of course."

Aeronwy stopped, planting her heels firmly into the ground. “Sir. I must know, on whose authority do you tell me these things? I don’t want you getting in trouble.” Steinar laughed. “Listen, lass, you know how the Arbeids are built. Lots of groups, headed by one man, who takes care of them. Feeds them, clothes them, and works them. That’s the Styresman’s job. Then he delivers a report to the Väktare, who manages funds, tells the Styresmen what needs to get done, etc.” Aeronwy nodded. Each of the clans had a similar system, decreed by their Rådsförsamling. They took care of the whole clan, and different parts of life.

"And of course, then the Väktare go to the correct Rådsförsamling man. And it turns out that I’m a Styresman, as you already knew. Väktare Karlsen doesn’t care much what I do, so long as I stay within budget, take care of the men, and get any assigned work done on time. So, what I say goes.” Aeronwy smiled. “I guess it’s alright then.” Then she frowned. “I suppose I need to prepare my things."

He nodded and smiled. “Take your time. Just come by the head office in a bit, and ask for Styresman Steinar. They’ll point you in the right direction. And if they give you trouble, just let me know.” Aeronwy smiled, nodding back. “Thank you, sir.” She said, and hurried back to her house.

She opened the door and—

I don't even adore Hamilton, but I can't help but remember song lyrics. Just wanted to say that I'm so close to having another part out, but I also have Camp NaNo. X|

I wanted to post more than once a week, but it looks like once a week is a bout where we're at now. Sorry everyone!

I'm not sure if you're still accepting new people, but I would be interested in joining this at some point.

Name: Leon Oliver

Race: Halfling

Age: 42

Gender: Male

Homeplace: Unknown

Current living place: Somewhere on Dekita?

Parents: Breis and Zaira Oliver

Parent occupation: Farm technology design

Living relatives: Zaira is deceased, Breis' status is unknown. He lived with his uncle Dante until a year ago, who is still living.

Occupation: None.

Appearance: Leon's hair is black and surprisingly straight. His skin is a darker tan, and his eyes are a gray-blue. Even for a halfling, he is very short, and he has a very wiry frame.

Marraige/Children: N/A

One thing they want: A place to call home.

Personality: He is extremely fond of the surface world and afraid of heights, both unusual traits for a halfling, and this causes him to have some tension among the members of his race. He is quite introverted, studious, and pessimistic. However, he is extremely friendly, and is slow to anger. Though he finds it tough to make friends, once he does, he's likely to keep them for life.

Skills: He has a strange knack for stealthy movement, but not many other natural skills. He does have some experience with foraging and travelling.

Thoughts on Magic: Leon doesn't care in any way about magic. He doesn't study it, and doesn't really care who is allowed magic.

Other: Leon has only a foggy memory of life before an incident which nearly killed him, where he fell off his home airship / was involved in an airship accident (you can fill in the details as neccessary).

Mele found herself almost dazzled from the sights, sounds and smells. New and exciting. She hadn’t come down to the trading area, or ka maimai maika’i before. She only had a few baskets to trade. Most she made for the family. That is, when she wasn’t weaving nets. Again, for her family. There wasn’t much time for extra projects, so she only had three little baskets.

One had little green beads woven all over it. The beads weren’t worth much, but Mele was hoping that she would be able to get something from it. The second one was a little bigger, and she had used slightly nicer reeds, but only the green beads. She had created a beautiful pattern of triangle at the bottom, the points all brushing against one band in the middle of the basket. Then the last one—her favorite. Mountains climbed up and down it, made out of beautiful red reeds. It almost looked like they were on fire, until they had a snowy white peak. She had heard tales of such mountains: some belching fire, others constantly veiled in cold and snow. No one had ever said that there wasn’t a mountain like this. Mele hoped deep down inside that maybe, just maybe, there would be a beautiful fire-and-ice mountain like it.

Someone was preparing a meal with fish … It smelled wonderful, but Mele knew that it would be silly to trade for food. Something pretty, but useful would be best. She saw the two chiefs standing and talking to each other, showing the other the best that he had to trade. She stood at a respectful distance, watching them. It was almost like a game. A I-show-you-something-and-I-want-that kind of game. There was much headshaking, but then all of a sudden, the men would exchange items. Mele wondered if she might be able to make her trading look as skillful.

"Who are you?” Someone asked, in a slightly accented voice. Mele whirled around. A tall, sturdy looking girl stood in front of Mele, a large basket perched on her hip. “Mele. Who are you?” Mele asked. This girl had to be one of the travelers. The pattern of her outfit was woven differently from Mele’s and everyone she knew. “Haunani,” The girl said, smiling.

"What is in your basket?” Mele asked, wondering if there was a foreign wonder inside. “Niu. Coconut."

Mele’s shoulders sagged. She was rather disappointed now that there wasn’t something exciting in it. Haunani laughed. “If you want to see something exciting, unlike niu, then go up the beach that way,” She said, pointing. “Go to my mothers and sisters. My sisters look much like me. My mother … she is shorter, with yellow hair, like the sun. You will be able to recognize her. She is from the aupuni'āpana, Falcon Empire. They have beautiful and rare cloth from Akairibons. Very difficult to get. What do you have to trade?” She asked, tipping her head to one side.

Mele showed her the baskets, which she had retrieved from her hidey-hole. Haunani raised her eyebrows, and nodded. “They may give you a little, for all three baskets. We do not spend much time weaving, so this is good. Tell them that Haunani sent you, if you go.
