Petrichor Academy sits high on a cliff somewhere in an undiscovered part of Scotland, on the border between the mediocore and the magical. The Academy has been an institute of education and magic for ages. Here students learn things like alchemy and rune-magic alongside math and literature. Petrichor Academy's student body and faculty are made up of both humans and magical beings.
The school has three Houses- House Kelpie, House Leprechaun, and House Roc. Unlike other house system such as the Hogwarts Houses, Petrichor's houses do not determine dorm arrangements, sports teams, or tight social structures, and the Houses do not compete exept during the school's annual Midsummer Festival games. Instead, these Houses represent their students' unique pursuit of knowledge and exploration, and the path they will take after graduation. Each House has a designated faculty leader, one or two specialized classes, and at the end of the year partakes a Crusade- a House-wide quest that may be something such as finding an ancient relic or solving a mystery plauging the land.
House Kelpie represents those who seek mystery and discovery, House Leprechaun represents those who seek innovation and imagination, and House Roc represents those who seek glory and adventure.

Personality: Mature if she wants to be (not often), smart, bookish-introvert to people she doesn't know but if she knows them then comfortable/talks. Maniac tomboy, athletic.
Skills/Abilities (magical or not, please avoid making magical skills OP): Can shadow-walk and sink unnoticed into the shadows. Can also control shadows/darkness?

Appearance: Astonishingly golden eyes, long red-blonde hair pulled back with an antique hair pin, average height. Likes to wear sandals with socks, sweaters, and jeans.
Personality: Adventurous and curious, loves learning. Cautious and introverted, but also very opinionated. Imaginative, and sometimes slightly scared of the dark.
Skills/Abilities: Good at reading and writing. Great memory, good reflexes (who knows, they might come in handy), can tell how other people are feeling, good ideas when needed. Always been drawn to fire and light.

Name: Headmistress Wisteria Finnegan (Headmistress Finnegan)
Age: Early 60s
Gender/Pronouns: she/her
Appearance: Long wavy gray hair, olive skin, hazel eyes. Wears sophisticated dresses and sometimes suits, usually with a purple scarf. Walks with a cane but doesn't seem to need it.
Personality: Grumpy, sharp-tempered, witty, courageous. She comes across as gruff and can be rude, but is extremely protective of the school, its students, and teachers, and loves them dearly.
Position: Headmistress
Other: Has a Scottish accent, used to be a student at the school before becoming its principal

Other: Her name comes from the Irish word for "dream" or "vision," and I chose it because a close cousin of mine has a name also derived from that word, and my uncle's name is Brian.

Oh this sounds fun, kinda like my role play but probably going to thrive.

Appearence:Long black hair shaved on one side, silver eyes that sparkle like the moon, sharp pointed nose, deep brown skin. She is most likely to wear white or black clothse. ( see picture for more detail)
Personality:Haughty, slightly self absorbed, mysterious ( if that counts), dark, calm and creative.
Skills/Abilities (magical or not, please avoid making magical skills OP):She is one of the few people that has been blessed my the darkness. She can control shadows bending them too her will. over the years her power grew and she can now subconsciously turn the shadows into a seven foot tall hound with glowing red eyes like burning lava. The shadows she form can become solid or unmalleable objects, if she puts to little thought into creation that is meant to be a human or other race can take on a will of there own. they can become dangerous or your best friend, her power is dangerous and even though she enjoys being strong she avoids fight in with it at all costs.

Other:She is highly capable in the art of sword fighting and hand to hand combat, because of the dangers of her power. She also likes to read, write and draw. She is very introverted and prefers others strike up conversation first. When she is by her self she likes to listen to loud music. She can get angry easily with people that joke about her and her shadows. She also likes to look at the stars ( RANDOM FACTS ABOUT MY RANDOM CHARACTERS).
