RP, anyone? I
RP, anyone? I thought that we should have another RP that's not based on a book/series. We take turns writing a piece of the story from our character's point of view, just like always.
(I say Ashling here, but that's not her name. You'll understand in a minute.)
Ashling--
"Rise." I tried and failed again to get the flames to do my bidding. I scowled at them, but they did nothing. "Rise!" I tried once more, and once more they ignored me. I glared at them.
"The flames here do not speak. I silenced them myself, many years ago, under Mistress' orders," Edan said, and I noticed him for the first time.
"How long have you been standing there?" I asked him.
"Long enough," he said, moving out of the doorway and into the corridor. I exited my small room and walked with him through the empty manor. Mistress was away, and she had taken most of her servants with her. We passed only one maid on our walk, and she bowed her head respectfully as we passed.
"Good Afternoon, Ashen One," she told me quietly.
"Thank you," I told her, then turned back to Edan. He was smiling.
"Ashen One, huh?" he asked. I nodded. "I used to be called that. Before Mistress found my name." He paused, now sad.
Edan was referring to when he had lost his powers and become human. After a human knows an Ashling's name, the Ashling becomes human as well. He no longer could speak to flames, conjure them out of air, or make them do his bidding. He could no longer control fire, and change into a fire-bird when needed. He was no longer an Ashling.
All because the Mistress had gotten him to tell her his name.

Age: 14 human years
Appearance: long black hair, pale skin, grey eyes, fairly short in height.
Other: Her parents died, and she was found and sold off to "Mistress", a wealthy Dutchess. "Ashling" is higher in rank than a servant in Mistress' house, but lower than Mistress. Mistress shows her off at parties like an exotic pet, and "Ashling" hates it. She's been planning an escape.

This is the last time she runs away I vow as I lock the door. I have Darius check one last time that it's fireproof, then leave. I have more important matters to attend to. I strut over to Clarissa, Darius following me. "Did you know of this, mergirl?" I demand. She gasps. "You... You know?"she asks. I point at the mermark. She hides it with the sleeve of her dress. Elfie runs up to me. "Mistress, Hattie needs you in the kitchen," she whispers.

She Knows my secert I thought in my room.I just escaped from mistress's room.I hid in her closet.All she wanted was a pen.The other note said
I Miss Jason
that must be her dead husband.I lay on my bed thinking what will happen to me.I leave out my window to make sure nothing bad happens.I start running but then I stop at a small window.Ash is crying.I see a tear go down her pale cheek.I knock on her window.She walks near the window."what do you want?"she says."To ask you a question...Do you want to run far,far away from here, with me?"I ask."Yes!"She says.We start runing,then walking down to the beach."Watch this!" I say.I jump in the water and become a mermiad."Wow!"she says as she smiles."I go down here every-"
I stop talking.Something is pulling My tail!"Clarissa,Clarissa!"I hear a voice from deep underwater.I am sinkining to the bottom."Clarissa!"I hear Ash say before I close my eyes,underwater.

Shadow-
They caught her! Howcould I have been so stupid?! They shouldn’t have caught her! Why had I evenleft Ashling? It was important that I rescue every creature from the dretchedhouse before—It was my life. I could not fail next time! But would there be anext time?
“Did you know of this mergirl?” Mistress was talking toDarius, a human servant in the house. Clarissa dropped the heap of laundry shehad been carrying and gasped in shock.
“You know?” Clarissa’s blue eyes lit up in shock.
All Mistress did was point at the blue bubbled birthmarkhidden by Clarissa’s ratty sleeve.
Before Clarissa could say something, Elfie ran in andexclaimed, “Hattie needs help!”
I waited in the shadows of the hallway. Some servants passedobliviously. Clarissa exited Mistress’s room with tears in her eyes and randown the hall.
I wanted to comfort the poor mergirl, but what should I say?Everything will be okay. Those words struck me as cruel and worthless.
I decided that it would be best to follow the young servant soI slipped through the candlelit halls.
BY the time I got outside, Clarissa and Ashling were runningacross the grounds.
I followed them to the water, and watched from a far.
Clarissa exchanged a few words with Ashling. Ashling seemedshocked by Clarissa’s secret. Then Clarissa dived into the water.
Clarissa smiles and starts to talk with Ashling, yet then herexpression changes into terror.
She looks down into the water-probably looking at her tail-and is then pulled under.
I held myself back slowly. Clarissa could swim; nothing wouldhappen. I was wrong. Ashling yelled Clarissa’s name, but the girl was alreadysinking. I ran over the beach, and to the spot where Ashling stood.
“Help her!” I said.
Ashling jumped and then turned to me. “What are-I won’t dosuch a thing! I’m a being of fire! It would ruin my powers!”
“I won’t either.” The water made me nervous. Yes, at night thesea was dark, but that doesn’t mean that there are shadows. I could only livewith shadows. There was no way I could last down there.
“You’re scared?” Ashling asked me.
“I-No- I mean, yes… I don’t know… I don’t want to go in thewater!”
“I can’t! You can; you’re just holding back!”
“No, I’m not… It’s just…”
“Go.”
Silence.
“GO!”
I took one longing look atthe shadows on the beach, swallowed my fear as best I could, and dove.

Clarissa-
I was being pulled under! I opened my eyes once more. Above me, Shadow jumped in. She tried to take my hand but it was no use, the thing that was pulling me was very strong. Now it was pulling BOTH of us down. I saw shadow close her eyes. Her mouth dropped open. She was out of breath. But luckily the thing moved a huge, gray rock and took us in a deep underwater cave but since there were rocks all over it, it had no water in it. The thing dropped us on a rock. It had white hair and skin, big black tentacles, gray evil eyes, and was a little bit taller then 6 feet. "YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" it said to me. It looked so familar, like from a long time ago. It took one of its tentacles and whacked my head, making me fall asleep.

Ashling--
I couldn't see them in the water anymore, and I was beginning to worry that Shadow had drowned. Clarissa, being a mergirl, couldn't drown, but Shadow could, and I was worried that something horrible had happened to Clarissa as well. I wanted to dive down to help them, but I knew I would be weak and powerless by the time I found them down there. Stupid me, I had to know if they were ok, even if I couldn't help. I jumped in.
I immediately felt my energy leaving me. I would be drained of my powers in a few minutes, and they wouldn't return for many nights. I cursed my stupidity. I would be unconcious by the time I saw them down here!
Suddenly I saw a faint bit of light coming from the rocks on my right. I noticed a hole in the rocks, and swam through it, coming into an air pocket. I swam up to the surface and pulled myself onto the rocks as I saw a huge monster leaning over Clarissa and Shadow. With what little energy I had left, I conjured and hit the creature with a fire-ball. Everything went black as I was whacked back into the water by a huge tentacle.

SO, my character is unconscious, so what happens after i'm whacked into the water? Or if all of us were knocked unconscious, then somebuggy could post what happens like when we wake up. :)

Clarissa-
I woke up. Then I looked around the room. Ashling and Shadow were nowhere to be found. But I was in a small cell with bars and only a piece of driftwood I must have been sleeping on. I looked at my tail. Instead of it being blue, it was black and felt slimy. The cell door opened and the cretature came in. "Where are Shadow and Ashling?" I asked, actually yelled. "Ashling is in a room filled with ice and Shadow is in a room with lots of light," it said. "How did you know their weakness?" "I saw that Ashling couldn't breathe in the water and Shadow couldn't breath that well in the place where she sat in here, under the little hole that had light go in it," it said. "I want to know why my tail is different and if my parents really died in a shipwreck," I said. "The black stuff is slime that dripped in the cell and your parents didn't really die in a shipwreck," it said. "Then how?" I asked. "Well, I realized how much power you and your parents had so I had to do something. I put a spell on myself to look like their closest friend. Then I took them to this cave where I made a whirlpool where they died. Then I sucked up all of my power to have myself. The people you saw die in the shipwreck were faux mermaids I had made look exactly look like them. But my power from them spilled and went on their bodies. They swam fast and far away before I could get them. I snuck in your room every night until you accidentally hit your head and floated to the top. You didn't have amnesia though. So I looked for you every night until you finally came in the daytime where I saw you and took you leading to now," it said. "I remember that only one thing had that much power," I said. "Yes and I guess you forgot one thing when you hit your head," it said. It was true. I did forget one most importent thing that came back to me now. "I'm a princess," I said.

Ashling--
I woke up freezing. Literally. There was a thin layer of ice over my skin. My powers had been drained by the water, but I hadn't been in the water long enough to drain all of my magic. I melted the ice that was on me with the little fire I had left, then stood and looked at my surroundings. I was in a small room, and I could make out the shape of a door to my left, but everything was covered in ice. I might have been able to melt it if I had my powers, but in my weakened state, I was trapped.

Shadow-
It was like a terrible nightmare, though I hardly ever dreamt.I remembered the water closing in on me, as I tried to stay in the few shadowsthat were in he ocean. I couldn’t stay underwater that long without breathing,especially if there were no shadows. And then, a horrible feeling had gonethrough me and I was here.
In a cold cell, cowering near the edge of the wall, trying toget away from the burning light.
“Hello?” My voice echoed through the barred cell. Hopeless.
Shadows were scarce, I could feel fear rising in my stomach. Iwasn’t weak, no. I could live without shadows, but fear could kill.
“Maybe if I…” I spoke quietly with myself, yet what could Ido? The room was made to torment me, and Ashling? She would be drained of herpowers soon, if she hadn’t been already.
The MerMaiden, who worked for Mistress… She’d been drowningthe last time I saw her. Where was she now?
I huddled back into my damp cloak, fear crawled slowly up myspine.
Minutes later a voice came from the darkness.
“Shadow? Ashling?” It was a female voice, Clarissa appeared inmermaiden form.
“Clarissa?” I flew to the bars, blinking in the light.
“Shadow! Why-what… I have to get you out! I don’t have enoughtime.” Her voice, I noticed, sounded weighed down by fear.
“What’s happening? where are we?” I asked as she fumbled withthe lock on my cell.
“I don’t know. There’s some creature. It-it… I have to stayhere. I-“
“Why do you look so worried?”
“It’s just… I’m a princess. My parents, they aren’t dead. Ihave to find them.”
“You have to go back.”
“No, I mean, not today. I have to know more.” With that thelock clanked to the floor.
“Get Ashling! Her powersare fading already!” She exclaimed, and swam up the steps.

The only servants I had left were Elfie and Hattie. Everyone had left after Ashling, Clarissa, and Shadow disappeared, as if I were responsible. It's like they had known I hired the tentacled one those many years ago. And they had known I was lying about how I figured out who Clarissa was. I had found her on the beach and thought she was an innocent child who was about to die because of me. But as time went on, it was apparent to me she was their daughter. Now the tentacled one (a.k.a. Darius's true form) was supposed to kill Clarissa and anyone who knew about it.
