SailHaven

(I will do an explaination, then people can add to the story.)

SailHaven is my home city. It is a floating city, with a network of tunnels, allowing crime syndicates to evolve. The scientists there mostly develop implants, like blades in arms, or wearable tech, like monicles with lenses for seeing in the dark and stuff like that. I got exiled after creating blades that could be installed in arms, but they worked like a cat's claws, and could be hidden completely. After several assassinations, they had to punish me for making them.

Walking about 30 feet behind Elliot, I see him turn and look at something. Then he shakes his head and keeps going. After he has gone ahead a bit, I run up and look down the small steet that he was looking down. I see a girl walking with a bunch of seemingly older people, both boys and girls. It's probably a gang. This must be Sprocket, the girl with the illegal dog. I quickly decide between her and Elliot. I choose Elliot, because I know where he is going, but I have no clue on how to find it. Sprocket, however, is with a gang, and they are not often in the same place. It would be easy to find her.

Sprocket, I am new here but I have seen you and your dog. Don't worry, I won't tell anyone.

Walking twords the Collage, I throw open the gates. Motioning Rae inside, I follow her. The gates shut, and the brick collage looms ahead. The white walls inside flow with blue Æther. Doors apear inside the walls. This is the Royal Collage. I walk into the map room, and ask Rae if she can give me the map. Placing it on the screen, I press the button. The scan goes into the computor. I pull out a hardrive and place it into the computor. "I will send this to the deciphering sector of the Collage." I tell Rae.

I quickly run up behind Elliot, and he opens the gates. I go inside and see an amazing hallway with white/blue walls. He goes through a door and puts my map into some kind of harddrive. I ask him where it is going and he says, "To the dechiphering section of the collage." I follow him back out into the steet and ask if we can go find Sprocket.

Elliot, how old are you?

I am old. SailHaven people live a very long time.

I walk down the alley with the gang. It was after the fight, and they already have a new name for me: Fiercetooth. Everyone in the gang has a name that they are given based on first impressions or big things they have done. For example, Scorpion, a short girl who is a year older than me, got her name by tipping over a crate full of scorpions in order to escape.

Oxfang was telling me the rest of the gang's names, and how we always need to stick together no matter what. It's the same with every gang.

I sense rather than see someone watching me. I turn around and see the blade boy, Elliot, staring at me from the end of the alley. I slowly nod and turn back to the gang, not before seeing a girl following behind him. Rae, the one who I said I could help. Now that seemed impossible.

I step into the dark room and shiver slightly. This is for the good of B.I.G, I remind myself.

Then he's here, with the sensors attached to his hands, and on his eyes-so he can feel sound...and see warmth. I slide him the Brazen Goo-my second shipment. Then I take the Aether materials, and we part ways.

A bullet flies at me from nowhere but I immediately duck under it. Stupid gangs.

With the Aether materials safe at my hotel room, I head to the Royal College.

Ah! I see that you are unfamiliar with SailHaven conduct! Brazen Goo is, in fact, the most highly illegal substance in SailHaven! And smuggling in Goo for Æther byproducts is also illegal! Unless you can prove that the Æther products or byproducts are purely for use in scientific experiments. Do not let me catch you doing that kind of smuggling again!

Actually, it is purely for scientific expiriments. Waves his B.I.G badge. I was not aware that the goo was illegal, but as the trade took place just outside of the lovely city itself, it was not illigit. And it was not smuggling-more of a trade for Aether products.

Good day. Don't bother me again.

And as long as SailHaven is involved, BIG can be of no help.

Sprocket ran through the streets, the stolen sack of various valuables tucked underneath one arm. The police ran behind her, there shouts echoing in the narrow streets. She jumped over a stack of crates and dodged a vendors cart. Up on the rooftops Scorpion waited, she was the one who would take the stuff the remaining way.

The bright flash of the signal cloth caught her attention, and she threw the bag up with a shout. Scorpion appeared and snatched the bag, her short honey colored hair flying wildly in the wind. Flashing Sprocket a smile, she disapeared, heading towards the alley that had become HQ.

Sprocket ran faster, no longer weighed down by the heavy sack. She quickly lost the police, and finally came to rest in an old alley.

Pausing to catch her breath, she bent over, her hands on her knees. After a while she straightend and, taking a deep breath, blew three, short, sharp whistles. A few moments later the dark form of a metal greyhound appeared on the rooftops, peering down at Sprocket. The dog jumped down, his metallic joints creaking.

"Hey Cobalt," she whispered, dropping down to her knees. The dog walked up to her and started sniffing her pockets. Sprocket laughed. "OK boy, I'll give it to you." She drew out from one of her pockets a can of oil. Using an old can she found nearby she poured the oil into it. Cobalt eagerly started to lap it up, a look of content on his face.

I sigh. Wow, they're fooled so easily. But I do feel slightly bad for not knowing that rule before I made the transactions--inside sailhaven grounds.

I pull the picture of my daughters out of my pocket, then put it back. And then...I reach into the pocket I normally don't reach into..and pull out the picture of my dead wife. I'm doing this for you, I think, and sigh. I hope this works...

I put the picture back. Time to experiment with that Aether back at the new, top-secret lab.

I am afraid that we just found a large supply of Brazen Goo in an abandoned warehouse. I may have to arrest you, unless BIG can send a representative and explain. The Goo was to be used for possible murder. Also, several scans of the city show high levels of radiation in the area you are expirimenting. If the Æther you are working with explodes, SailHaven will fall from the sky. You are officialy under areest. If any police find you, I will know.

I'm afraid I have nothing to do with that supply -- I sell Brazen Goo (rarely, actually. It is quite precious to me!) but I do not experiment with it, as the only need I have for it is to use it normally. I do not claim responsibility for whatever the man I gave it to's usage as I am in no way an accomplice.

Good day! I leave, not noticing I dropped the pictures of my daughters.
