Insomnia studied her fingers. They were cut and blistered from folding paper. Then, she looked up. The Olive Den was warm and cozy, with a crackling fireplace, and vines along the walls. Hanging from the ceiling were hundred of tiny paper cranes, in varying shade of brown, green, yellow, and pink.

It was pretty, but nobody had come yet. At the counter, Insomnia was playing a game of chess with herself. It was a curious game, with seemingly two people of the same skill level trying to beat each other. As she moved the white piece, she realized she was sending the black into check. Why not?

Dog~~

I had left the crowded, noisy flea market. I'd traveled for a while, hands hitting hard pavement, blisters forming, until I found this place. Ig looked cozy. A sign called it the Olive Den.

I pushed open the door and walked inside.

A dark elf sat at the counter, playing chess with only herself. She looked at me. "Hello."

Dog is a German shepherd. He was experimented on by BIG, and now has human hands and intelligence. He can't speak, however. But he does know sign language and can write.

I slip into the Olive Den. It's rather charming. An elf, playing chess with herself, puts the black in check before greeting a rather odd dog. I walk silently over to the elf.

"Hello. I am Insomnia. Welcome to the Olive Den, how can I help you?" She smiles at me. Without replying I take the black queen and rescue the black side from check. The elf laughs. I smile and remove my hood. The elf's laughter stops abruptly. I tuck a lock of my brown hair behind one of my ears. She squints.

"Do I know you?" I smile, revealing two fang like inscisors among other, normal-shaped teeth.

"You shouldn't. But I know you, Insomnia. I am Rune Hyperkill the Deadly. A pleasure to meet you." I place one silver coin on the counter. "One roasted Peking duck, please." Insomnia smiles again and, before turning away to go cook, slips her white knight accidentally in line with my black bishop. I claim the knight, and Insomnia pretends to curse under her breath.

Finally, a customer! Back in the kitchen, I giggle under my breath. Check in five. Whatever. It might unsettle them to know I was such a maniac. Peking roasted duck, with basil on the side. Check.

Hello, and welcome! I have no doubt that you will receive a lovely lot of drama. I may even contribute to it, depending on whether or not I get my footing in school this week. Have a nice day!

(I think I might be tired--do I sound more... I don't know, perky than usual?)

Business was quite slow recently. Insomnia had nothing to do but sit around and make origami. The ground was littered with little pathways of origami flowers, and animals rested on the tabletops, their little paper folds fluttering in the breeze from the window.

Insomnia has taken it upon herself to litter the ground with possibly hundreds of little origami figurines. I study one, a dragon I believe. My eyes have a thoughtful look in them, and I smile a little. Insomnia catches my minuscule gesture of satisfaction.

"Do you like it?" She asks, smiling broadly. I nod slowly.

"Yes, you could say that... It looks like me." Insomnia shakes her head in confusion.

"I don't see it." My smile widens the tiniest bit.

"I can't show you in here." I lean forward, over the remains of the roasted duck. I've only finished about a third of it. I'll save the rest for later. "I never stopped to learn such a delicate art. The only art I know is the art of silence." Insomnia shakes her head again.

"What is that?"

"It's this." I stand and walk over to Insomnia, laying my feet down quickly but gently. Although my movements are swift and powerful, I make almost no sound. Insomnia's eyes widen. I take a peice of paper and place it over Insomnia's eyes.

"Don't take it off until I say so." She bounces a little like a child. I walk over to my hiding place.

"Okay." I hear Imnsomnia whisk the paper off of her face and stand up. The odd dog whines happily. Insomnia begins searching the restaurant... In the completely wrong spot.

Dog~~

I whine happily, prancing around Insomnia. She giggles at me.

"Hey, you're a dog, aren't you? That means you can sniff things out! Why don't you help me find the other person who was in here?" Insomnia smiles at me.

I wag my tail and bark, prancing over to the roasted duck. Underneath the lovely smell of cooked brid is another scent. It's hard to track, though.

The dog-thing picks up my scent trail, nut keeps losing it every few inches. I smile and draw my cloak over my entire body. The dog notices the movement and runs over, but finds only my hiding place. He cannot see me. In confusion, he sniffs the ground. My scent is undoubtably stronger, but since he cannot see me he whimpers to Insomnia. In fact, he dares so much as to step forward, in curiosity to attempt to know what's going on. He passes straight through me. I snicker, and he perks his ears up. However, I know he won't find me. I'm in a parallel dimension. Oh, how I love this power...

~Almarel

I slip into an alley, my heart pounding along like the feet behind me. I'm now a cheetah, then a pronghorn, then a cat again. If only I could disappear, but they're watching me too closely. Gah, i need shadows, but it's noon and there aren't any big dark shadows. I let out a sigh. I really do hate fighting... I prefer to slit their throats while they're asleep. I shift into a Khajit and unsheath my claws, a growl rumbling in my throat. The first coyote rushes me, his teeth bared. I dodge, leap into the air, and slash his throat as he comes down. he falls, but i have no time to admire my work as the rest of the foxes, dogs, coyotes, wolves, and the occasional human attacks. I become a whirlwind of claws and teeth, but there are still too many to defeat.

As that fact becomes clear, I manage to climb the building behind me, sustaining only a few scratches and bruises in the process from the pack in the process. I've lost them, and as i leap across the rooftops I realize something. I'm hungry. I leap down from the building I'm on, having sufficiently crossed the entire city, and realize that the building in front of me is a restaurant (Author's note: Restaurant, French, meaning 'restoritive' originally a soup. Current usage began in 1790s.) apparently called 'the Olive Den'. I walk inside to see a dog and a dark elf searching the wrong side of the place for a (Fill in blank with Rune's speices) who looks slightly transparent. Definately using dimensional magic, that one.
"He's over here." I say quietly.

"How?!" he gasps.

"Cats can see things like that."

"What."

"I'd like an order of Peking Duck, the sushi, and a coffee."
