Sharing Photography

Okay, so I ran across the Art Posting thread, which made me really excited. I love art, learning techniques, and just enjoying other people's masterpieces. Then I thought, what else do I really love doing besides reading, art, and video games? Photography!

And that is why this thread now exists. I love photography almost more than art. and the Art Sharing thread inspired this, so thank you. I want this thread to be a place where people can share their photographs they have taken. A place to share the stories behind the pictures. A place, really, where your photography can be enjoyed by others, and where story inspirations can sprout.

So what do you say? Wish to join in the fun of photography? Even if you don't take pictures, you are more than welcome to come join in with comments and stories. I'll share some of my own photos once this thread is up.

@Lap R. Again, thank you for creating the Art Posting thread. I hope it is fine with you to have this thread, being that it was sort of your idea, but with art.

Thank you, Shadow Dragon. Everyone has posted amazing photos in the short time this thread has been up. They are all absolutely stunning. And as for not having a camera, that's okay. When you get one, I have no doubt you will be a natural at photography.

I am in love with photography! I though I was pretty good, but you all have stunning works!

Here are some from my school camping trip to Joshua Tree. I have way better stuff on my parent's phones, but these are the only things on my computer right now.

1. I stole my friend Anya's sunglasses for this. My brother says it's a purposeless photo, but I like it.

2. The sunset view. It's not my best photography-wise, but I like the colors in the sky, so I decided I'd share it anyway.

More later!

@Abigal, I usually would not say this, but DON'T listen to your brother! That single photo of the sunglasses holds a unique story. And, as I told Lap, each picture is a masterpiece for this reason. You even said yourself, you stole it from your friend. Well, that is the beginning of the story. And even if you didn't take them, look at the picture. They are sitting peacefully on a rock, so colorful, but the background is dark. It gives the feeling of waiting for that summer, inevitable, but so far away. Beautiful.

And the sunset, it is amazing as well! I love the contrast and color given. The waves of red and misty purple blending together on a blue sky over the silhouette of mountains. Again, another beautiful piece of work. That is why I made the thread, to tell stories and share these stunning photos.

All these photos are amazing! I also like the stories that come with the photos. I'm considering posting some stuff here too.

PS. No need to ask permission to make threads here! This is a free forum, after all. :) Plus, I love seeing other people's photography! I'll see if I can take a good photo so I can join.

@Lap R. Thank you, I love everyone's photos as well. The stories are just as beautiful as the pictures. I mainly asked for permission out respect, because I believe people should thank the people who inspired them to do things. And you are more than welcome to have your photos on here. No matter what you believe the quality is, we will love it. That is the amazing thing about photography - it holds a story behind it, always. That makes each shot the best picture ever.

Okay, so I really want to get other people excited about photography and have them share their photos on here. Because who doesn't love these amazing works of art? So, I am sharing another one of my photos I took a few months ago. It is a boxelder bug at the park near my school. How I see it is: I'm hungry. What is this thing in my face with a weird mirror thingy? Yes, I am speaking a bug's mind. Or scenario two of a bug's life: There is an alien spaceship thing! We are going to die a horrible bug death! Or scenario three for the boxelder bug: Cool... let's just chill here on this branch and watch this giant person take pictures of me. Yep, go ahead, I am loving this branch. It is way better than that other one over there. Uh yeah, I don't think that is what the boxelder was thinking. Who knows though?

Ok, here goes nothing. . .

I took this photo about a year ago at the Oregon coast. We rented out a house near the beach and were cooking hot dogs when I saw this. It looks like a picture from a fantasy book.
More to come!

Wow, Joan, that is a stunning photo! I am actually going to the Oregon coast this summer, so maybe I will see such a wonderful view as well. I love the soft colors of the sky, so different from the misty look of the houses and shore. Wonderful work, and I look forward to seeing more of your photographs!
