Tired and sleepy,

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Tired and sleepy,

Tired and sleepy, you hop in to bed. Everything is perfect. Your favorite book (you just found it), some tea, and a hot waterbottle. What could be better on a wet, stormy night? You begin to realize your bed feels wet. Unaturally wet. Screaming, you discover that the whole bed has been spread with slime. And in that slime, there is a note.

Dearest CBer,

You are invited to the first and last voyage on the RMS Hamilton. We will be sailing across the ocean on a three week trip to France, where you will then get to buy a baguette, and go to the eiffel tower. RSVP in the old vingear bottle in the back of your cupboard.

- the captain

Unsure of what to do, you decide to sleep on it. Under the bed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I, Captain Oddball, wish for you to come on the RMS Hamilton's maiden voyage. CBers, AE's and Captchas are welcome. Please note that we will start out in the Seafare Hotel, after which we will board the ship. As mentioned in the note, we will be sailing to france, where we will then proceed to take a tour, ending up at the Marquis de Lafeyette's house.
Writer's Note
If you wish to join, please note what you will be bringing with you, and also if you would like a just in case cage for your CAPTCHA or AE. (Or both.)
There will be only twenty people allowed to join. Feel free to also make note of any Hamilton song you would like to be played, or a favorite character.
If you do not like Hamilton, we have one non-Hamilton room. It is also heavily sound proof.
As this is the maiden voyage, nothing is expected to go wrong.
Thank you, and please join!l
(There will also be a murderer, as there usually is with these things. And anybody who can guess who I am gets a raspberry or blueberry danish.)
Just kidding! Well, I still want to be in the soundproof room, but I was just being dramatic above. Lol.
Day 0
The Hotel
Kate-the-Great walked into the hotel. A bucket of worms promptly dumped on to her. Kate sighed. This was going to be a long trip. Gared laughed, brandishing a pen. Ink flew everywhere, landing on Booksy Owl, who was trying to read. Wordsy laughed, and suddenly Booksy started thinking about asking for a cage.
Just then, Captain Oddball appeared. Darth Daisy snickered at the Captains's long, twig-infested beard, nearly earning a vingear pie. "Hello, travelers! Tomorrow we will be leaving port, sailing across the sea. If you read the brochure, great! If not, too bad!..." At this, the captain trailed off. Booksy seemed to be turning blue, her tongue hanging out of her mouth. It was black with ink from Gared's pen.
A nearby clerk handed Booksy Owl a bottle labeled "antidotes". The murderer inwardly frowned. This was going to be harder than they thought.
Day 1 (part a)
Abigail S. and Leafpool talked quietly as they walked around the deck of the ship. They were patiently waiting for room assignments. Captain Oddball had already given a tour of the ship, and most everybody else had fallen asleep on the many benches.
The night before, the AEs had filled the night with pillow fights, pranks, and noise. Blasting Hamilton, spray painting CBers, and eating too much sugar had only been a few of the problems. Wordsy was the only one who behaved, because Booksy Owl was considering a cage.
At last, room assignments were posted. Captain Oddball had been questioning who should go together, so it took longer than expected.
After seeing this, the CBers, AEs, and Captchas proceeded to their room. Suddenly a loud booming sound rocketed through the ship. Bolton, Brian and Fia grinned sheepishly. The had knocked over a filing cabinent that was there for no good reason.
Then, the Captain annouced that if anybody wished, a choclate fountain, mozzerela nachos, and tasty pasteries would be avalible for anybody.
The murderer smiled. Perfect.
Day 1 (part b)
Somehow, the Captain magically saw Booksy Owly's request. She and Wordsy were moved.
The killer quickly crept into the snack room. They injected poison into a ripe, lucious strawberry. What a pity. It looked so good, red, juicy, tart and sweet.
Soon, all the CBers were in the room. Spirit-Rain daintly ate, while Stan, Brian, Charles, Booksy and Icy shoveled food into their mouths. Stan noticed a red lucious strawberry just as Cardinal was about to eat it. He snatched it out of reach,and with a haughty "Too slow!", ate it. He turned green. The Riddler screamed. Kate sobbed, hugging Cardinal to her chest.
Stan let out one, almighty, burp. Then he was dead.
A few hours later, at about lunchtime, the captain said a nice sentiment about Stan, and thanked grace for keeping Cardinal safe. Then he hummed "zippedy doo-dah" and munched on some spaghetti, making all the living CBers wonder if he was sane.
The AEs mourned the loss of their friend for about an hour, but some mourned a lot longer than most. All the CBers comforted The Riddler. And then everbody went to their rooms and wondered, was this an accident? Or was intentional?
Gared quickly went back to writing for NaNoWriMo. Booksy and Wordsy repacked and moved. Then unpacked.
The murderer smiled. It was all too easy.
