Tired and sleepy,

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Tired and sleepy,

Tired and sleepy, you hop in to bed. Everything is perfect. Your favorite book (you just found it), some tea, and a hot waterbottle. What could be better on a wet, stormy night? You begin to realize your bed feels wet. Unaturally wet. Screaming, you discover that the whole bed has been spread with slime. And in that slime, there is a note.

Dearest CBer,

You are invited to the first and last voyage on the RMS Hamilton. We will be sailing across the ocean on a three week trip to France, where you will then get to buy a baguette, and go to the eiffel tower. RSVP in the old vingear bottle in the back of your cupboard.

- the captain

Unsure of what to do, you decide to sleep on it. Under the bed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I, Captain Oddball, wish for you to come on the RMS Hamilton's maiden voyage. CBers, AE's and Captchas are welcome. Please note that we will start out in the Seafare Hotel, after which we will board the ship. As mentioned in the note, we will be sailing to france, where we will then proceed to take a tour, ending up at the Marquis de Lafeyette's house.
Writer's Note
If you wish to join, please note what you will be bringing with you, and also if you would like a just in case cage for your CAPTCHA or AE. (Or both.)
There will be only twenty people allowed to join. Feel free to also make note of any Hamilton song you would like to be played, or a favorite character.
If you do not like Hamilton, we have one non-Hamilton room. It is also heavily sound proof.
As this is the maiden voyage, nothing is expected to go wrong.
Thank you, and please join!l
(There will also be a murderer, as there usually is with these things. And anybody who can guess who I am gets a raspberry or blueberry danish.)
Day 11 (part 2)
Was Wordsy alive? No one knew. She had vanished into the night. Booksy Owly was beside herself. "I th-thought that s-she was SAFE! A-and now s-she's DEAD! I-I'm s-so sorryyy..." A search team was set up. They checked everywhere. Or so they thought. The ship was supposed to have 100 rooms. Instead, it had something more like 200. Leafpool ran around with Icy, searching for clues. Lunchtime came, so Leafpool went up to spoon-feed Arwen some soup. Arwen was fine, sitting in her bed as usual. Leafpool eased her up into a sitting position and screamed.
There was blood all down the front of her nightgown.
Day 11 (part 3)
The CBers were busy holding a council.
Arwen was dreaming. Who am I, she thought. Have am I become another tool in this sick plot? I did the unthinkable. Time to let go. It'll be better for everybody else. Let go. Think of those you love, and go. She thought of Leafpool and Jarnen all waiting for her somewhere. Breathe. One, two, three. Now go. Her breathing and pulse slowed. One last breath. And-
She had said that all aloud. Leafpool screamed. Booksy Owly ran over. Kate the Great and Gossamer covered Arwen with a sheet. Hobbes rolled his eyes. Icy and Brian built a wooden coffin quickly, because Brain was an AE wielding a hammer. They placed Arwen in it. Her face was pale, and her beatiful eyes were closed for good. She was now free. Autumn Leaves gave a speech. "While Arwen was alive, she was one of the most helpful people aboard. She was a caretaker. She lived a good life. Let us each-" At that word, the lights went out. There was of a scuffle, a shout, a scream and then silence. After five minutes, there was a flicker of light. The sounds of a buzzing bulb. Light finally flooded the room. Serene, Hobbes, and Kestrel were all gone. Booksy Owly was dead. An arrow pierced her heart.
The captain ran in. "Something's wrong! We all are in grave danger. The murderer-"
A speaker cut her off. "Attention passengers. This is the murderer speaking. I have two hostages. Surrender, or I'd be happy to kill you all.
That voice- who was it? Then Leafpool knew.
It was Serene.
This short ski lodge will be ending soon, I'm afraid. It will be a long final battle. I might not always be able to post constantly, but I'll try.
Peace.
*Sobs* Poor Arwen....
WHAT? I'M THE MURDERER???????????!!!!!!!!
Serene! You've never shouted before in your life! Seriously, this is the first time I've ever heard you shout!
BUT I'M THE MURDERER! I KILLED ARWEN! I KILLED BOOKSY! I KILLED KESTREL! I KILLED THEM ALL!
Oh my. Please try to calm down, Serene. It's just a ski lodge.
BUT THAT'S IT--IT'S A SKI LODGE! I'LL BE SCARRED FOR LIFE!
*Sternly* Serene. Breath. In, out. In, out. In, out. See? Much better.
Anway, great work, Pepper Star! This is going really well, and I can't wait to see what the end is like.
I laughed so hard when I saw your post Leafpool. And thank you. Also, I have only just realized that Ellak is still alive.
Day 11 (part 4)
The CBers were forming an army. The Captain was writing a note that said; Meet us at the Dining Hall at midnight.  The AEs were at work building all sorts of crazy weapons. The Riddler and Leafpool were drawing up plans. Kestrel had been found dead of stab wounds an hour after the blackout. Hobbes was still missing. The Captain was gathering supplies. The murderer was also planning.
Serene was preparing her army of shadows. All the shadows on the ship, it had turned out, were alive and evil. They were happy to kill and there were plenty which made up for the fact that they were easy to kill. One shadow had a knife to Hobbes's throat. "You will stand at the front, and all the CBers will be distracted. Then, the killing can begin." Serene was saying. Under her breath she whispered, "Then I'll kill you, stupid. And the poor ugly little helpless CBers will be too shocked to do a thing. They're so stupid and good. Leafpool! Always caring about others. How does she like it that I've killed Arwen and Jarnen?" Then she suited up. Conveniently, she had found a bunch of armor in one of the storage closets. Made of steel and almost completely indestructable, it was perfect. It even had a sword belt. And just for good measure, she strapped a dagger to her leg.
All that the CBers and AEs could find, though, was some leather and iron. Icy and KtG were busy trying to sew something close to armor. Then Brian came over with an "immediate armor-maker" that the AE's and Spirit-Rain had produced. The armor was strong and durable. Everyone put on armor, and chose weapons. There was a dartgun, a weird thing that turned people into dust, a flamethrower, a scythe, and a bunch of swords and daggers. The Riddler chose the dart gun. She noticed that the captain seemed like she wanted to say something. But then the captain just shook her head and turned away. Not yet.
Icy had the flamethrower and her dagger. Brian had the aptly named dustifyer. Everyone else had swords or daggers, and Leafpool had the scythe. Her heart was turning to stone, it seemed, towards Serene.
Everyone shook hands. Time to strike.
They all marched down to the dining hall. The clock tolled midnight.
Day 12 (part 1)
Serene arrived with her shadow army. Hobbes was placed in between the two groups. Abigail S. gasped. The Hobbes ran over to her. Serene shrieked. The attack began. Leafpool found herself with Charles and Spirit-Rain, chasing some shadows. The shadows ran down to the portal room. Then the battle truly began. Leafpool swung her scythe and Spirit-Rain threw her dagger. Brian was sort of fencing with the shadow, their swords clanging. Four shadows were down. One more to go. The shadow suddenly shoved Leafpool, who fell into the portal. Then, fueled with anger, Spirit-Rain and Brian killed the shadows and started the climb up. Abigail S. and Hobbes were at the top. They pulled Spirit-Rain and Brian out. Spirit-Rain told them the news abut Leafpool. But they could not help her. So they rejoined the battle.
Meanwhile, Gossamer, The Riddler, Autumn Leaves and Ellak were dealing with their own troubles. A bunch of shadows had them in a circle and each lashing out with their weapons. The Riddler fired darts, and Gossamer threw daggers while Ellak was lashing out with his sword. Autumn, however, was overwhelmed. She was doing her best to stab at a bunch of shadows, but to no avail. It wasn't working.The shadows kept on moving. Then one scratched her. She fell back. The shadow grabbed her by the throat. Gossamer did her best to help, but nearly ended up killing Autumn. Autumn thrashed about. Her eyes bugged out of her head. Then she fell still.
Gossamer, The Riddler and Ellak kept on fighting, even though tears were falling from their eyes. Icy, Kate the Great, Charles and Sam ran over to help. They overpowered the shadows. The Captain ran in and collapsed by the door. She was bruised and battered. "The door! They're going to blow up the door! Move back!" Charles and Icy were determined to move her though. As they did, the door blew up. Charles and Icy fell down. Icy got up, but Charles remained unmoving. There was no time to help him.
Serene appeared. She swung her sword, and in doing so got Gossamer, who was helping Icy. Icy tried to use her ice powers, but missed and hit a random chandelier. Then Icy threw the dagger she had strapped to her leg. It also missed but hit a shadow that was trying to kill Kate. Serene tossed what looked like the bubble gel she had used to kill Rosebud. But this time, it worked much faster. She popped the Icy-bubble. Blood and bone remained on the floor. Sam angrily swung his sword, effectively killing five shadows. Kate yelled, "You go Sam!" But this distracted him, and he was killed by a shadow from behind.
Another shadow grabbed Hobbes. Abigail screamed and yelled and did her best to kill the shadow, and was stabbed by some sort of sword. It went deep into her. Bleeding, she screamed again and lashed out with her sword. It decapitate the shadow. Abigail fell to the floor, where Hobbes crawled over to help. She breathed slowly. Then her breathing stopped.
Ellak was throwing daggers and swinging his sword around, effectively killing quite a few shadows. Then, out of the corner ofhis eyes, he saw an arrow fly towards him. It hit him square in the chest. The Captain was trying to help him, but it just wasn't working. Close your eyes, said a voice. He did.
Brian had dustifyed several shadows. He saw Abigail rescue Hobbes and tumble to the ground. He dustifyed more. He saw Ellak fall and the Captain, who had regained her strength, try to help him. Brian dustifyed some more shadows. Then he realized there was only about five dozen more shadows but only The Riddler, Spirit-Rain, Hobbes and Kate were still alive. Spirit-Rain joined him. Then she was hit with a spear. Brian dustifyed more. Four dozen. Three dozen. A quill with a needy point burroweditself into his arm. Pain flooded his body. Then there was nothing.
The Captain and Kate were moving as fast as they could. Then Kate fell. Serene came over and stabbed her. Then punched the captain in the stomach, who fell to the ground. Hobbes ran over. There were only two shadows. He killed one, was hit by something, fell, but managed to kill the other shadow. Only The Riddler and the Captain were left.
It was noon. The hours had passed quickly. Serene smiled. "Just you and me Riddler. The Captain was too weak to stop me. Now it's up to you." She paused. "Now, I suppose you're wondering why I did all this." The Riddler nodded. "Don't you ever get tired of being good all the time? Don't you ever want power? This ship is alive Riddler. The Captain used to be able to control the power of all this living ship. But I stole that power. And to be sure I wasn't dominated, I had to get rid of everything else. So now that I could create rooms, I used it to my advantage. At first the Captain was wary. But then I bound her, so she couldn't stop me. It was so... nice. The Captain can't stop me anymore. She's so sad. Time to end her." Serene produced a needle and syringe. She injected the captain. The Riddler screamed and knocked Serene over. Then she fired her last dart, true in meeting it's mark.
The Captain smiled weakly. "I always knew you would be the one to get this ship. It's yours. Be good to it, and in return, it will be good to you. I wasn't as attentive as I should have been. I'm sorry. You please be a better Captain than I was for my sake. But before I finally go, I need to tell you one thing." She whispered the final truth into The Riddler's ear. And then, at long last, the Captain of the R.M.S. Hamilton died.
The Riddler sighed. It was just her now. A voice spoke behind her. "Not really." It was Leafpool. The Riddler gasped. "But I thought you died! The portal-" "The portal- well, it's a long story. We have more important stuff to do. I'm here, anyway." said Leafpool. "So, Serene died? And all her shadow monsters?" The Riddler nodded. " "The Captain, too. I inherited this ship though." They cleaned up and buried all the bodies.
They knew the final thing the Captain had whispered into The Riddler's ear was true.
We're never alone in the end.
Omigosh! I finished it! There are probably a billion typos. Anyways, thank you to all those who stuck around. And my dog, Badger who did nothing especially useful but was just cute.
Wow! Congratulations, Captain Oddball! *Throws confetti around*
Yay!
Can I be finished being dead now?
Of course! *Pulls Arwen out of dead-land*
May I, too?
Yep!
And...Jarnen is kind of missing still, so he technically can't post. It would mess things up.
