Tired and sleepy,

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Tired and sleepy,

Tired and sleepy, you hop in to bed. Everything is perfect. Your favorite book (you just found it), some tea, and a hot waterbottle. What could be better on a wet, stormy night? You begin to realize your bed feels wet. Unaturally wet. Screaming, you discover that the whole bed has been spread with slime. And in that slime, there is a note.

Dearest CBer,

You are invited to the first and last voyage on the RMS Hamilton. We will be sailing across the ocean on a three week trip to France, where you will then get to buy a baguette, and go to the eiffel tower. RSVP in the old vingear bottle in the back of your cupboard.

- the captain

Unsure of what to do, you decide to sleep on it. Under the bed.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I, Captain Oddball, wish for you to come on the RMS Hamilton's maiden voyage. CBers, AE's and Captchas are welcome. Please note that we will start out in the Seafare Hotel, after which we will board the ship. As mentioned in the note, we will be sailing to france, where we will then proceed to take a tour, ending up at the Marquis de Lafeyette's house.
Writer's Note
If you wish to join, please note what you will be bringing with you, and also if you would like a just in case cage for your CAPTCHA or AE. (Or both.)
There will be only twenty people allowed to join. Feel free to also make note of any Hamilton song you would like to be played, or a favorite character.
If you do not like Hamilton, we have one non-Hamilton room. It is also heavily sound proof.
As this is the maiden voyage, nothing is expected to go wrong.
Thank you, and please join!l
(There will also be a murderer, as there usually is with these things. And anybody who can guess who I am gets a raspberry or blueberry danish.)
Day 5
Leafpool was up at the crack of dawn. Sun was pouring in her window, making it impossible to sleep. She decided to take a walk up on the deck. Truly huge and covered with complicated riggings and whatnot, it was perfect for climbing. Leafpool decided to climb up. Gared smiled, his eyes looking like black pits. Time to get his job done. He silently followed Leafpool up. When she was at the top, he decided to reveal himself. "Boo" he whispered. Leafpool jumped. And fell. On her way down, her foot caught in the riggings, leaving her trapped between certain death, and Gared, who she was sure would kill her. Instead, he helped her down and said, "I'll strike a deal. I unfortunately am at risk of being killed, except if I "kill" somebody else. So, if you remain silent and write a note saying you "jumped overboard" I will let you live a quiet few days in a windowed utility closet. I can bring you food sometimes, but I would take some with you."
That sounded better than dying to Leafpool. She grabbed some stuff, and entered the closet. Inside was Spirit-Rain.
*****************
(Still Day 5)
A few hours later, all the CBers were worried. Half the AEs were. Both Spirit-Rain and Leafpool, gone! Inside the closet, Spirit-Rain and Leafpool did their best to stay quiet, communicating with some random tablets. Gared, knowing that his time would be up soon, retreated. He began writing a note explaining were Spirit-Rain and Leafpool were. He explained his intentions and plans to keep others safe, and expose the murderer. Gared felt sad. He added an apology to Leafpool and Spirit-Rain. He hadn't ever wanted lock them up, or harm anybody. As he was about to write the name of the murderer, a shadow loomed over him. He dropped the pen. "So, Gared. Planning to give me away? Well, it is too late now. You're coming with me." And quickly, Gared was lead away. The murderer smiled. "Goodbye, Gared." And with that, He was let one last look at his fate. A mushroom. A mushroom? Gared wondered. What in the world? Then the murderer ate the mushroom. No, instead he would end up in steel. The stories he most treasured would be the death of him. The pit and the Pendelum. Edgar Allen Poe. Lowered over the deep well, he felt the chains unlock.
Abigail S. found the letter and read it. She screamed.
Gared felt the whooshing of cold air, and then the splash as he hit the water. And then, that was all.
Sorry that I killed you Gared. But, now the story has deepened.
Day 5 (somehow part 2)
Abigail S. was heard all through the ship. The Captain/Pepper Star had been eating a croissant. She was rather angry to have been disturbed, until she saw Gared's note.  Jarnen looked frightened. Hobbes rolled his eyes. And The Riddler was thankful that they were the first to come back on the thread. Leafpool and Spirit-Rain were retrived from the magical storage locker. Leafpool may have looked bad, but Spirit-Rain looked tentimes worse. Her hair was in a rat's nest, and covered in dust. A spider slowly built a web etween her neck and shoulder. "cbweb. spdy. dust." and promtly collapsed.
Mystery rushed her to the sickroom, where she was immediatly diagnosed with a severe case of closet fever. Leafpool was diagnosed with cobwebia. Both would be forced to lie in bed for several yea- I mean days. Kestrel, Brian and Arwen decided to go get some hot choclate for the ill. Hazel went off exploring.  Bolten went to write a mash note to Icy.* Beth watched, rolling her eyes.
Meanwhile, Hazel came to an intresting room. It looked like a giant cornmaze was inside. Enthralled by the cornmaze, she entered, having appeared to lost ALL COMMON SENSE. Would she ever come out? The world may never know**......................
Day 5 (part 3)
Hazel was feeling curious. Too curious for her own good. The maze seemed to be covered in giant twinkly things. Twinkles....... She never even noticed when the door swung silently shut. Until she did. And then, things got even curiouser. A voice boomed out if the ceiling. "Hazel Anchovy. You have two seconds begore this becomes a terrifying experiance. Starting now." Hazel was able to fit in one giant scream. And then, things got worse. It was like a combination of the maze runner (a disturbing book), a lab rat maze, and horror stuff like the pit & the pendelum, or It's a good life. Spikes began popping up behind her, forcing her to move.
Hazel flew down tunnel after tunnel. She jumped electric panels and dodged spikes. But after only five minutes her legs grew weak. And she accidentally ran down a dead end. Frantically, Hazel climbed the walls, using spikes that popped out. She reached the top. So close to freeedom! And with that, an upcoming spike set her off balance. She tumbled. Gared-Fia-Stan-The Artist-Raven-all flashed before her eyes. "TEACH ME HOW TO SAY GOODBYE-RISE UP-ELIZA!" And then, Hazel fell. She picked herself up and ran. Fast, straining to get away. She never saw the dart machine.
****
Daisy was tired. It was loud one of the other rooms. She couldn't understand why, until the inhabitants of Room ? came screaming into the non-Hamilton room.  Mystery shouted, "Now two of us are dead! We found a note- from Hazel!" The note said, "I have yet to see a bright day, while captive. I hope that my suffering shall not continue much longer, and that I will be freed from my burdens while here, on this ship."
Everybody panicked. What would happen now?
********
RIP, Hazel. Or is it?
Day 6 (Part 1)
Nobody had found Hazel. they had spent the whole night searching, but now there was no trace of her. Not even a bloodstain. Or a giant creepy murderous corn maze. They would have tried to sleep, but Wordsy had kept everybody up by blasting music. And then Brian responded with a bunch of Hamilton. So now, it sounded kind of like this; Tell your sister that she's got to ris-We all live in a-rise up-YELLOW SUBMARINE-'cause we are, we are giants- I WANT TO BE IN THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS- and so on. During all off this, Icy was getting more and more fed up. Plus, Spirit-Rain had cobwebs comig out of her ear, and was coughing up dust. It seemed she had lost all of her crazy nature. Almost. "I DEMAND PANCAKES! AND NOT ANY PANCAKES! SOUFFLE PANCAKES!" Souffle pancakes however, she did not get. Leafpool had resorted to wearing earmuffs and stuffing her head under 5 pillows. So far, she could only hope that Spirit-Rain lost her "magnificent" commanding voice.
The murderer was equally bored. Nobody was panicked!  Jarnen and Charles had stopped feeling much emotion at all. Well, that was about to end. They would go farther. They would murder- a captcha..................................
Several hours later,  Kate-The-Great was incrediby worried. Cardinal had gone outside for a pleasant bit of fresh air, and still hadn't returned. It was about lunchtime now. He had been gone for 15 minutes! What was being prepared,for lunch, however,would strike Kate's intrest. They were having sunflower seds as an appetizer. She could use them to get Cardinal back! When lunch was served, Kate saed some Sunflower seeds. Then, the entree, hamburgers had a nasty turn.
"Why does this taste.... different?" asked Kestrel. "I don't know. It is a little... weird." Said Booksy Owl. "Well, I like it." said Bolton. That was when things got scary. Arwen discovered a single little red and black feather poking out of her burger. The reason it had tasted so weird had fianally come together. (Big shocker), but CARDINAL had become burger! Bolton spat out his bite of burger. He, Kestrel, and Booksy would consider being vegitarians from now on.
Day 6 (part 2)
They found Hazel. She was found in a little dark room with a little dark door. Hazel would never speak again, it seemed. She was in a coma, and had not moved. Trapped inside a confused and terrifyed mind. Where was she? Why had she written a note? Where were her friends?
Beth had happened upon a new door. She had been on her way to help Icy tear up Bolton notes and feed them to sharks), when the corridors had shifted. After about fifteen minutes, she found help. They got Hazel, and ran. Although she was in a coma, her friends came to speak to her. A T.V. was set up. She was kept entertained, by the small hope of Icy and Beth that a spark of conciousness was left inside Hazel.
Hazel tried to remember what had happened. She fell and ran. Spikes. Then a voice-nothing. Writing a note. Nothing again.
Later that evening, aresenic was in a glass Hazel drank from. RIP Hazel. RIP.
Oh, whoops! Hey, Rosebud, as it happens you are the new topic of this story!
Day  7
Rosebud was feeling sick from the storm. It had turned out they would not be stopping at the island. They were currently in a rather large storm. Rain spattered against the deck. Mystery stared up at a drip forming in the ceiling. Rosebud began to fill sicker. Why? Why did there have to be a storm? Why did Icy run about yelling random words and turning chandeliers to ice? (But sometimes she missed, and hit a person.) Rosebud frowned. There wasn't a croissant in sight. Daisy had gone off, looking for one. Bolton and Beth accompanied her. Rosebud tried not to think about everything that had happened on the CB. Ahe couldn't allow herself to lose Daisy on this thread, too. She grabbed a giant hammer. It was now, or never!
She raced down a hallway to find Daisy and Beth moving cautiously down a corridor. Bolton had already gone- gone? Surely he would have continued to follow them. Daisy muttered something to Beth. Then they turned. Their pupils had dialated, and their irises has grown to cover their eyes. Rosebud thought that giant hammers had proved to be usefull. And then, they attacked. Rosebud slammed Beth as gently as she could against the wall. Daisy was knocked out with one blow. The Beth rose again. Rosebud screamed, desperate. Icy came, along with Mystery. Together they overpowered Beth. Daisy and Beth were confined to the ship hospital.
That night, Rosebud cried herself to sleep. In the end, she had lost Daisy after all.
***
What happened to Bolton? Well, as they walked, Beth and Daisy became possesed by the murderer, and fear of death. Bolton was too busy dreaming poetry for Icy to notice. There was a saw in a nearby room............
