Hey Chatterboxers! I

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Hey Chatterboxers! I

Hey Chatterboxers! I haven't been on Cricket in a while. Some of you might remember me. So since I just got back I've decided to make a new RP! Ok, so it's like an academy for 'special' kids. For example empaths, or people with super reflexes. Basicaly low key super powers. Ya it's kinda corny, but it's fun! So yeah.

Here's my charrie:

Name- Laura Anderson

Physical Description- average height, long strait black hair, sharp blue eyes, tan

Personality- nice, funny, easily excited

powers: empath (can read other people's emotions), and can sometimes control other people's emotions too

Ok, so, the whole thing is the school is trying to turn these kids with special abilities into living weapons.

Laura-

I stared at the wall of my room with the speakers on full blast. I wasn't exactly sure what song was playing. I usually ignored the lyrics. Suddenly my mom banged on the door. "Laura! Someone's here to see you!" I shut off the speakers and opened the door. "Who?" "Just come and see for yourself." While my mom just walked down the staris I slid down the hand rail and jumped down at the bottom. A tall woman with short cropped hair and sunglasses in a suit waited at the door. "Who are you?" I asked. She seemed to glare right through me with those dark sunglasses, like she was testing me or something. "I am Miss Russo of the Academy for Special Children." I glanced at my mom. "What, am I mental or something?" My mom rolled her eyes and sighed. "Of course not Laura! Miss Russo's just talking about, your, uh, unique abilities." "Oh gosh. You mean?" "Yes." "Great. Ok so what's the plan? Take me to a government facility and do tests on me?" I asked Miss Russo. "No. You're not that special." "Gee, thanks." "Go on Laura, you'll be able to learn how to control it." "Yeah ok, whatever." That's when I packed my bags and headed off to the Academy in a dark limosene with blacked-out windows.

OK, since Zoey and Melody's posts kinda clash I'll just combine them.

Quinn-

We just stared at Lipa (if that was her real name). I was very unhappy about the decision to let her stay here considering she shot me! I could tell Sora and Laura weren't too happy about it either. I remembered what happened outside though and I almost felt bad for her. Lipa wasted no time in doing anything. Sense she could tell we weren't going to talk to her anymore she went into the bathroom, and came out later, wet and with the same clothes on. "Do you want to borrow something?" Nyota asked. "You are the floating girl?" Lipa asked. Nyota nodded. "Sure am, so as I was saying do you need anything?" She lent Lipa some pj's and promised to take her shopping tomorrow. Lipa took the last available bed, and went right to sleep. I crawled into bed and reminisced today's odd events. Suddenly Sonny shook me awake. "Quinn, wake up, I'm breaking out of here and need you to watch for Miss Russo." I sat up groggily. "What?" "I'm breaking out, come on wake up!" I got up out of bed. "You're going to try to break out of a school for kids with super powers?" "Lipa broke in didn't she?" "She's a Russian super weapon. It doesn't count." "Whatever, I'm leaving. So will you help me?" I nodded. "Sure, whatever. But what about all your stuff?" I asked. "I've got more, just get those three bags, and I'll take this one." She grabbed a tiny purse and stuck me with the three heavy bags. "What's in these things?" I asked, panting from their weight. "My shoes, duh. Now hurry up!" I followed her down the hallway, and through a bunch of twists and turns. "This place is a maze. Face it Sonny, you're never getting out." I whispered. "No way am I turning back now! I just had to turn down a movie offer with George Lucas! I am not going to be stuck here while all these amazing opportunities pass me by!" she snapped. Man, for an egocentric supermodel she was determined. We continued walking around trying to find the exit. Suddenly she stopped. "What is it?" "Someone's going to come by." We quickly hid in a room marked, STORAGE and waited until the footsteps came and went. "Let's go." She opened the door and led the way. After thirty minutes I felt like my arms were going to fall off. "Sonny, there's no way on this Earth you're ever going to find the--" "The exit!" she exclaimed. "Seriously?" I looked and saw two heavy wooden doors that looked like the front entrance. "Let's go!" We were half way when she stopped and groaned. "What now?" I asked putting down the heavy cases. But I soon realized why she'd stopped. Four armed guards circled us, then Miss Russo walked up. "Like I said Miss Jefferson, you are obligated to stay a whole year. As for you Miss Baker, since you aided Miss Jefferson you will share in the punnishment. Con!" she called. I groaned because I knew exactly what was going to happen next. He ran up in footy pajamas and a purple Santa hat. His eyes were red and puffy like he'd been crying. Sonny and I stiffled laughter. "Yes, Miss Russo?" he asked. Then he spotted us and turned red, then angry. "What are these two punks doin' out so late at night?" he asked angrily. I rubbed the bullet wound anxiously. "Miss Jefferson tried to break out and Miss Baker helped her." He grinned. "Got two boxes waitin' on your order Miss Russo." We both went pale. I remembered what had happened to Laura when she was in that box and I immediately wished Sonny hadn't talked me into this. "Good, now take them." He led us to the gym and told us each to go into our own separate box. Before entering the box I silently wispered to Sonny, "What kind of school doesn't let its students leave?" She answered my question with a question. "What kind of school makes its students face their worst fears as punnishment?" I gulped and walked into my box. I sat down on the chair and waited. Nothing happened. Suddenly the box started to rock, as if I was on, "A boat." I knew exactly what was happening. Water started to flow into the box up to my ankles. I pounded on the door and shouted for Con to let me out. I even started to shout for Miss Russo when the water got to my knees. The rocking got rougher, and rougher. I turned green. I watched in horror as the water made it to my waist. I screamed louder, this time yelling for anyone to help me. "HELP!! GET ME OUT!! PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME! I'M GOING TO DROWN!!" I shouted helplessly. The water was up to my elbows. I started to cry, I couldn't even swim, and the top of this box was well above my head. I screamed and shouted until the water was up to my chin. Soon the rocking was tossing me around, and my head went under. I struggled to get to the top, but my injured leg wasn't working. I cried and shouted but no one came to my rescue. The rocking threw me around the box until the water was so high, there was only a foot of space between it and the ceiling. I shouted desperately. No one came. I took a huge gulp of breath and then water filled the box. I tried not to waste any air by crying or screaming, but I was scared to death by this rocking coffin I was in. I'm sure I was in there for a good two minutes when I started to see spots. I knew it was possible for human beings to hold their breath for 3 minutes or more but I got the horrid feeling I was going to die in here. Suddenly the rocking stopped, and all the water receded until it was just a plain white box with a chair in the center. I was lying on the floor, coughing up water, and gasping for breath when Con opened the door. "Learn you lession sweetheart?" I nodded vigorously and got up on unsteady legs heading out the door. I saw Sonny. She was dry but just about as paper white as I was. She saw me sopping wet but didn't say anything. We were escorted back to our room. Laura, Sora, Kayden, and Cassie got up as soon as the door shut behind us. They all looked horrified. "What happened?" Kayden asked. "Box" was all I said. I went into the bathroom and looked at the shower distastefully. I dried off and changed my clothes. I then crawled into bed without saying anything to anyone and lay there in the dark still panic stricken. I could still feel the horrible rocking when I finally fell asleep.

"What happened?" I asked fearfully as Sonny and Quin, who was soaked to the bone, entered our room. "Box," Quin said shakily, then went into the bathroom. Sonny was shivering so I brought her a blanket and sat her down on the bed. "What was that all about? We woke up and you were gone," Laura asked, crossing her arms across her chest and looking at Sonny with eyebrows raised. "I-I wanted to leave. The school, I mean. Movie offer, you know, so I convinced Quin into helping me...me break out, and Russo caught us and put us in that horrid box." She was shivering more, despite the blanket, and was staring at her lap. "This can't go on, all of us being afraid of Miss Russo. What type of school is this, where the students live in fear of the headmistress? This has to stop," Sora said. "But who could honestly stand up against Miss Russo, she'd blast us to smiterins, and that's when she's alone, and not with her body guards, and who knows what their powers are," I say, to no one in particular. All of a sudden everyone looks at me. "What? What all I can do is...turn people's powers off." And then I get it. I'm the only person who can stand up to Miss Russo without being blown off the map.

So Lipa is good or bad? And Miss Russo is dangerous because...?

Wow! I haven't been on for a while, since I was sick, but this is getting really good!

Elizabeth M., I'm not exactly sure whether Lipa is good or bad, but the reason Mrs. Russo is dangerous is because she has powers and all her bodyguards have powers too.

Cassie-

'Finally!' I thought. The sky seemed just the tiniest bit brighter. I had been awake for what seemed like hours, waiting for the sun to rise. Don't get me wrong, I am not a morning person. I'm usually the kind of person who has to be dragged out of bed in the morning and this get-up-at-five-o'clock thing was really hard on me. But this morning, I was just lying there forever thinking about what I'd just discovered and waiting to tell someone. I couldn't go back to sleep. I reached over and checked my phone. 4:57 An hour more till Sonny's overly-loud alarm went of. An hour of thinking about what I'd found.

I'd always thought that the box was a really extreme punishment. I mean, who has to face their worst fears every time they do something just a little bit wrong, like trying to ditch school? (Well, that's not exactly little, but you get my point.) The first time, when Laura had gone into the box I was amazed at the kind of terrible things they did. What if it killed them? I'd assured myself at the time that it couldn't kill them, that Mrs. Russo wouldn't let that happen. But then I'd seen Mrs. Russo threatening Laura's dad. She was threatening to kill him. That's when I decided she was crazy and she wanted to scare us to death (literally) in the box. Then, last night, when Quinn and Sora had come from the box, I'd realized something was wrong. If Mrs. Russo wanted to kill someone in that box, that would have been the perfect time to kill Quinn by drowning her. She hadn't been drowned. But when she came out of that box, everyone knew exactly what her worst fear was. And obviously, since Con controlled the boxes, he found out what everyone's worst fear was. So, if he was telling Mrs. Russo, she knew what everyone's worst fear was. And she could use them against us. She could scare us into doing what she wanted. And we all knew that she wanted something.

So, since my charrie is the "best student" or something like that (according to past posts) :) should she be evil? Like she keeps an eye on everyone for Miss Russo or something? or something. :) If not we can ignore this post. (and sorry this is short)

Airlia-

I wander the halls aimlessly, trying to tune out the hundreds of dreams bombarding me from the rooms I'm walking past. During the day it's ok, since not too many of the students are nocturnal. But at night it's awful. Everyone's dreams slip into my head and I can't distinguish my thoughts from anyone else's. As I walk toward Miss Russo's office, one of her bodyguards drops from where he was hanging upside-down on the ceiling and stands in the middle of the hall, blocking my way.

"Name?" he says seriously, trying to look tough. He's a newbie, I know, because all the guards are required to know not to get in my way or blast me to bits if I try to disturb Miss Russo. He must be the replacement for the bodyguard who disappeared last week. I deliberately turn my eyes red, with reptilian pupils, just to creep the guy out. It works. His face blanches and he moves aside immediately. I stalk past him and stop outside Miss Russo's office. I knock loudly, and the door opens seemingly of its own accord.

"Ah, Airlia. I'm glad you came. I never really got to thank you for telling me about those to would-be escapees."

Wow Airlia that's a great idea!

Laura-

I stared as Quinn walked slowly out of the bathroom and into her bed. "Quinn, you ok?" I asked. She didn't respond. She just stared at the celing. I walked over to her, careful to avoid the sleeping Lipa's wings. I shook Quinn's shoulders. "Hey! Quinn! Are you ok?" I whispered again. She turned to look at me. "Water, why'd it have to be water? She was going to drown me. Like my parents." Then she resumed looking at the celing, and not talking. "Like your parents, what?" The emotions coming off of her now were enough to make me pass out. My knee's buckled. "Laura, you ok?" Sora asked. I grabbed my throbbing my head and nodded. "Ya, it's just Quinn. I'm gonna be fine." Suddenly Lipa's eyes opened. Again no emotion reached me. She sat up slowly. "I hear something," she said slowly. "What?" I asked. "A conversation." She walked outside like it was nothing. I exchanged a glance with the others then ran after her. Nyota followed me. "Lipa stop!" I whispered. She stopped for a second. "Why?" she asked. "Because you can't just go around at night! Remember what happened to Quinn and Sonny?" Nyota whispered. "I am not scared of anything," she said then started to fly away. I turned to Nyota. "Can you?" "I only float. We're going to have to run." I nodded. We ran after Lipa. She turned a corner then was gone. "Oh no," I muttered. "Darn it!" Nyota whispered in an annoyed voice. We walked back to the room because we'd decided we didn't want to get caught out here. Eventually Lipa came back. "What happened?" Kayden asked. Sora gasped. "Get out of my head," Lipa stated clearly. Sora glanced at her nervously. "Sorry." "What happened?!" I asked again. Liipa wasn't talking so Sora did. "She heard Miss. Russo and Airlia talking about busting Sonny and Quinn!" Quinn shot up so fast she fell out of bed. She stood up just as quickly. "Who's Airlia?" she asked. "Acording to the KGB's files she is Johana Russo's best student, trusted advisor, and spy," Lipa said. I stared at her. "What?"

Sora-

"According to the KGB's files she is Johanna Russo's best student, trusted advisor, and spy," Lipa said.

“What?” Laura stared at her.

“I said-“

“I know what you said, but that doesn’t make any sense… I mean, she was rude, but I never felt that she was... Bad.”

“Well, you can’t trust feelings, can you?” Lipa smirked. “My files don’t lie.”

I’m going to kill her!

“No, you aren’t!” I pushed Quinn back onto the bed before she could bolt for the door.

“That girl made me relive my parents’ death! She made me drown; like them.” Quinn began to turn the temperature down so that I’d let go, but Kayden quickly shut off her powers.

“Turn. My. Powers. Back. On.”

“Not until you stop threatening to kill people.”

A tear slid down Quinn’s cheek. “You guys don’t understand. You don’t know anything.”

Actually, I did. I was seeing Quinn’s thoughts so vividly; it was like real life.

A huge white ship was leaving the port. At the bow was a smiling couple. “Bye, Quinn, dear!” the woman cried, her brown hair straight and elbow-length like Quinn’s.

“Send me a postcard!” Little Quinn, maybe five or six years old, was jumping up and down, trying to get a better view of her parents.

“C’mon, Quinny. Let’s go.” A woman, maybe her aunt, guided her away from the harbor.

*

“Where should we take her?” Quinn was sitting on the stairs, eavesdropping on her aunt and uncle’s conversation.

“I don’t know, but keeping her is out of the question.”

“How about this?” Quinn’s uncle handed her aunt a brochure.

“Oakland Orphanage? It sounds nice. How will we tell her?”

“Tell me what?” Quinn’s face was tear-stained. She had probably just heard the news-

She noticed me looking into her thoughts and turned away. “You can’t let people even have privacy while thinking, can you?”

“Sorry…”

“Mrs. Russo wants something,” Kayden said, changing the subject.

“Yes, we’ve gotten that far already,” Lipa muttered.

“But what does she want? New Gucci shoes?”

Nobody answered Sonny. Gucci Shoes? Seriously?

“I know what she wants,” Cassie spoke up.

“What?”

“She wants Laura.”

I should’ve known.

“She won’t get me! She can’t control me. I’m a superhuman.”

“She does have one weapon…”

“Which one?”

“Your greatest fear and she already knows what it is. Your future.”

Laura-

She wants Laura. The words rattled around in my head like a non-stop rollar coaster. The conversation kept repeating itself in my head.

She won't get me! She can't control me. I'm a superhuman.

She does have one wepaon...

Which one?

Your greatest fear and she already knows what it is. Your future.

It was my greatest fear, and Miss Russo did know it. "Are sure it's me she wants?" I asked. Everyone was sure, even Lipa. "She wants you Laura," Sora comfirmed. I sat down. "What do I do?" I asked, looking up. Lipa stepped forward. "We must comfront Johana Russo." I actually laughed. "Are you serious? She's got the whole school at her comand!" I shouted. "Not you. Not us," Lipa stated. I stared at her, because, well, she made sense. "True, but there's like a gajillion of them and 7 of us," Sonny said. "Besides, I'm not doing anything that'll smudge my makeup," she stated calmly while applying 4 coats of makeup, too many to her eyes. "Great, make that six," Cassie muttered. "Doesn't matter." I stood up. "We can still beat them. We're stronger than most of them. True they know our weeknesses, but we've still got will power. Plus, we've got a Russian super weapon, a telepath, an emototions controller, a psychic, a person who can shut off powers, a person who can change the temperature anywhere at any time, and a person who can stop anything moving. We are the seven most powerful people in this place. If anybody can get out, we can." I finished my motavational speech proudly. "But Laura, what about Sora's vis-" "I don't care. If I die, at least I can get you guys out of here first," I said defiantly. Sora grinned. "Ok then, how do we get out? Anyone?" To everyone's surprise Lipa stepped up. "I have memorized the layout of the academy, and I also have a perfect memory of a KGB map that shows all the secret passages in this building. Including the one in your cabinet. There are presicely 36." "I think that's the most words she's ever said at once," Kayden whispered. "Shut up." I elbowed her. "Listen, Lipa, can you get us out?" She nodded. "Yes." "Great, back to one syllable," Kayden muttered. I stepped on her foot. She cringed but didn't say anything else. "Great, what's the plan?" Before Lipa could say anything Quinn stood up. She was still overly emotional from the torturous punishment. "Do we want to leave?" she asked in a small voice. "What? Of course we do," Sora said. "Just think about it. This is the only place people like us can be accepted. We'll be shunned, or tortured, or kidnapped, or even killed other places. Here we belong somewhere. Besides, what are we going to do if we leave? Lipa already let go of the Russian government, and most of us don't have a good home to go back to. Do we really want to leave?" She wasn't kidding, and when I thought about it, I realized: Quinn might just be right.

Sora-

“I think she’s right,” I said, agreeing with what Quinn had said. “If we left, we would be leaving all these other kids to be controlled by Mrs. Russo. They aren’t all bad. I don’t think all of them even know. If we leave-“

“It’s like giving up,” Laura finished my sentence.

“Exactly.”

“If we stay here, I’ll not get to the casting for that movie!”

“Are movies more important to you than a person’s life?” Kayden asked Sonny.

She didn’t answer.

“But how can we let the others know. And how can we figure out who’s bad and who’s good?” Nyota floated up to the ceiling and hit her head. “Ow.”

“We have to be observant. We have to watch in our classes. Who do the teachers seem to favor? Who has private talks? And at night, we should send someone to guard the tunnel. Maybe we can find something out…” Lipa sounded like a general, telling soldiers what to do.

“We don’t have much time…” Cassie seemed worried.

“No, but we still have enough if we work quickly. Let’s give ourselves a week. And Sora, watch their thoughts.”

I nodded.

“Good. Then we’d better get to bed and tomorrow we’ll start.”

Sonny~

I woke up five minutes before they were supposed to.  I didn't want to mess up my makeup helping them, but I did not want to go back in that box again.  In the box, I was on the runway, when all of a sudden, everyone in the audience was a clown.  With a knife.  I still had nightmares.  With Lipa helping us this time, we should be able to get out.

Sora woke up.  "I'm helping you guys," I told her.

"You're sure you want to crawl through creepy passageways and leave everything behind?"

"Yes," I said truthfully.  She smirked at me.  I nodded, "Really."  Laura woke up, then.

"Oh, no, you're not coming, are you?"  she said, looking at me.

"What, does everyone hate me?"  I asked.

Sora and Laura just looked at each other.  Everyone else woke up then.  "Sonny's coming," Laura said sadly.  Everyone but Lipa groaned.

"A physic is good to have on our mission," she said, smiling.

"She can't see everything, Lipa, only stuff five minutes later," Quinn told her.

"I know, that was in the file."

"I'm kind of in the room right now!  I may look like a mess, but I am here!" I shouted, "Now, let's get down to business
