Hey Chatterboxers! I

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Hey Chatterboxers! I

Hey Chatterboxers! I haven't been on Cricket in a while. Some of you might remember me. So since I just got back I've decided to make a new RP! Ok, so it's like an academy for 'special' kids. For example empaths, or people with super reflexes. Basicaly low key super powers. Ya it's kinda corny, but it's fun! So yeah.

Here's my charrie:

Name- Laura Anderson

Physical Description- average height, long strait black hair, sharp blue eyes, tan

Personality- nice, funny, easily excited

powers: empath (can read other people's emotions), and can sometimes control other people's emotions too

Ok, so, the whole thing is the school is trying to turn these kids with special abilities into living weapons.

Laura-

I stared at the wall of my room with the speakers on full blast. I wasn't exactly sure what song was playing. I usually ignored the lyrics. Suddenly my mom banged on the door. "Laura! Someone's here to see you!" I shut off the speakers and opened the door. "Who?" "Just come and see for yourself." While my mom just walked down the staris I slid down the hand rail and jumped down at the bottom. A tall woman with short cropped hair and sunglasses in a suit waited at the door. "Who are you?" I asked. She seemed to glare right through me with those dark sunglasses, like she was testing me or something. "I am Miss Russo of the Academy for Special Children." I glanced at my mom. "What, am I mental or something?" My mom rolled her eyes and sighed. "Of course not Laura! Miss Russo's just talking about, your, uh, unique abilities." "Oh gosh. You mean?" "Yes." "Great. Ok so what's the plan? Take me to a government facility and do tests on me?" I asked Miss Russo. "No. You're not that special." "Gee, thanks." "Go on Laura, you'll be able to learn how to control it." "Yeah ok, whatever." That's when I packed my bags and headed off to the Academy in a dark limosene with blacked-out windows.

Sorry I haven't been posting. We have a million projects going on...

Sora-

Laura was a monster. I didn’t want to admit it, but she was like Terminator, unstoppable, extremely strong. Not Laura.

She knocked me to the ground like I was a ragdoll. She didn’t show a single sign of even knowing me, only a wild look in her once beautiful blue eyes.

I woke up.

We were all in the same cell. All except for Austin. Was he dead?

Laura was no where to be seen.

I was the only one awake. The others: passed out.

I’d gone inside Laura’s head and seen nothing but a blank darkness. A black hole where her memories should’ve been. The memories of us, her friends. I’d also seen the tiny sliver of humanity pushed into the back of her brain. I wondered if she sometimes remembered. Could she escape Mrs. Russo?

“No,” I heard myself say aloud. “She won’t.”

Suddenly the door opened and a limp body was thrown into the cell.

Austin.

His face was pale and an awful gash reached from his neck to his shoulder.

I tore a piece of my shirt off and wrapped it around his shoulder as a compress. “Uhhhhhhh.” He groaned.

“This is going to stop the blood,” I whispered back.

“It didn’t work did it?” He meant the kiss.

I shrugged. “I don’t know.” And it was true. I didn’t know. That sliver of “real” Laura had given me hope. Maybe, just maybe Austin’s kiss had helped.

Quinn-

I sat in the corner silently. Sora and Austin were talking as she tended to his wound. I still couldn't believe Laura had actually done all this. It just wasn't like her. Sora had been into her mind I knew, but I didn't know what she'd seen. I pulled my knees into my chest and let my hair fall in front of my face. I watched as food was pushed in on a tray. I wasn't hungry so I let the others eat. Sonny sat down next to me.

"So, what should we do?" She was addressing all of us, not just me.

"I think Sora should tell us what she saw in Laura's mind," Cassie said quietly. Sora looked at the ground.

"I didn't see much," she started quietly then she held her head up. "Her mind is a black whole. Where her memories should be there's nothing but pure blackness." Everyone groaned defeated. "But, I did see a small sliver of her humanity, the real Laura, pushed into the back of her brain." Sonny jumped up.

"That's great news! That means that Austin's kiss helped! It means he managed to uncover some of the old Laura, and that maybe, just maybe, she can be brought back and saved!" Sora looked doubtfull.

"I don't know, it was pretty far back." Suddenly sheer determination lit her face. "But we should be able to help her. Now how we do that I have no idea."

"I have an idea." I spoke for the first time. "If we got to Laura using strong emotional memories then maybe we should try again."

"What?" Sonny asked in her  I'm-a-dumb-model voice.

"She likes Austin. Austin's kiss brought her back if only for a moment. So another memory is the explosion in that building where the guy choked her and stuff, just remind her of that and she'll come back. And so on and so on." Sora smiled.

"That's brilliant."

It's k, I live near NY, and my parents friends offered us tickets so ya. Lol, my dad's a sports freak and I never knew there was a White Sox.

Laura-

I sat on my bed and stared at the wall. I hugged my knees close to my chest. My walls were covered with pictures, and maps, and targets. My mind was blank. It was odd not to have any memories of your life. It felt like you were brand new, even when you knew you weren't. I touched the scar on my stomach. Where had that come from? It was infuriateing not knowing. Someone knocked. I stood up and opened the door. A girl stood there. Her eyes were bloodshot, and tears made stripes on her mud-streaked face.

"Help!" she shouted. Miss Russo came up behind her.

"Laura, take care of her." The girls' eyes were wide with horror. I made sure she died painlessly. This was all I knew, this was all I could be.

"Good girl. You deserve a treat. You can watch the interrogations. I followed her out the door where Con was interrogating the prisoners. All the people I hated. I walked into the room where the first person up was the one I'd come to know as Sora. She tried to read my mind when I walked in, but I used a technique Miss Russo had shown me to shut her out. Con sat in front of her.

"Sora, you will answer every question we ask you. OK?"

"OK."

"Why are you here?"

"To save Laura." I glared at her.

"I don't need to be saved."

"Yes you do! This isn't you! She's wiped your memory! She's turned you into a killer! This isn't you!" I glared at her.

"What else is there?" Then Con continued with the interrogation.

Sonny~

"There's no mirror in here!  How am I supposed to do my makeup!" I scream.

"There's no makeup in here either," Quinn muttered.

"Oh my gosh!," I wailed, "I'm going to die!!" By now, we have been stuck in that miserable cell for two days.  It was horrible. None of my necessities were there!  To make it even worse,  I totally have no idea how my hair looks!

Sora was thrown back into the cell by one of the guards.  "We're coming back for you," he told her, "once you're ready to talk.  Miss Russo knows the two of you were closest."

He grabs me.  "You're next, little miss pretty," he growls.

"Oh, so my hair still looks good." I try to stall him from closing the cell door. "That's a relief." Austin moves toward the opening, but the guard closes the door before he can escape.  The guard's hands push my wrists together.  I call upon my Kung-fu training from the last movie I did.  Quickly, I twist my wrists and grab his arm so I have control.  I jerk his arm up between his shoulder blades.  Cheers ring out from the direction of the cell.  "The keys," I whisper in his his ear.  He doesn't hand them over.  In one fluid motion, I kick out at his legs.  With a huge thud, he crashes to the ground.  I pick up his gun and hit him over the head with it.

Slowly, I remove his keys.  "I didn't know you could do that," Kayden says, impressed.

"I had some training," I say.  I bring the key up to the lock and twist it slowly.  "Go, quickly," I say. "Another guard is going to come in about three minutes.  Oh, and Nyota?" She nods.  "Take off your shoes.  Yours are the loudest.  If you keep them on, Miss Russo will hear you coming." She looks at me weirdly.

"Psychic!" I proclaim, pointing at myself.

Sora-

I didn’t know what time it was when they came for me. I’d known it was coming. I’d known that I’d be interrogated first.

I was shoved into a room with a table and lights that were too bright. Laura stood behind a thin glass wall watching me with narrowed eyes. I tried to read her thoughts, see the hole in her brain, but she was strong and blocked me out.

Con sat down in the chair opposite me, rubbing his hands together.

“Sora, you will answer every question we ask you. Okay?”

I didn’t even hesitate. “Okay.”

“Why are you here?”

“To save Laura.” I glimpsed at her, but all I saw was the hateful face of a monster.

“I don’t need to be saved!”

“Yes, you do! This isn’t you! She’s wiped your memory. She’s turned you into a killer. This isn’t you!”

She only glared.

“What else is there?” Con mumbled, but continued with the questions before I could answer. “How are you planning on saving her?”

I looked at my hands.

“You don’t have a plan.”

I shook my head. “Sure we do.”

“What is it?”

I kept my mouth shut Austin was our only chance.

“Guards!” Con yelled after staring at me for a minute. “Don’t take her to the box. We’ll ask her again later.”

I was dragged out.

Laura-

Something, don't ask me what, told me something had happened. I knew they had escaped. I still have no idea what did it, but I knew it was happening. I turned to Miss Russo.

"They're escaping."

"How do you know?"

"I just do." She nodded.

"Good enough for me. Laura, take them out." I ran off in the direction of their cell. It took me a few minutes to come up with a plan. I still wasn't sure it would work when I got there, but I had to try. I ran up to them panting.

"Stay back! She's still dangerous." I panted hard.

"Saw, file, remembered everything, help. Russo, after, me." I swayed and collapsed. The boy, Austin, caught me.

"Laura, are you ok?" he asked. I let my eyes shut. I could feel Sora start to prod my mind. As a decoy I put thoughts of pain and betrayal and hurt in place.

"She's not kidding," I heard her whisper. Surprise time. I kicked up and kicked Austin in the head. He snapped back with a loud shriek. I jumped at the girls. They were to surprised to do anything. All except one. Lipa I think it was shouted, "Cassie!" Suddenly I was stopped in my tracks. I couldn't move. That's when I remembered Cassie's power; stoping things in motion. I growled, and Cassie grinned.

"Now, how do we fix her?" Kayden asked.

Sonny-

"Hit her over the head with a baseball bat!" I grinned.

"Sonny," Nyota groaned.

"Sorry, once I get on a violent streak I don't stop," I replied.

"Your violent streak broke your nail," Austin pointed out.

"Violent streak over," I whimpered, clutching the injured finger.

"Guy!  We need to get serious," Kauden remarked. Everyone straightened up.  "How do we fix Laura?" Lipa raises her hand.  Kayden points at her.

"She got mad because she thought we hurt her mom, so we show her her mom alive and well, yes?" Lipa says, her Russian accent strong for some strange reason.  Or maybe it was like this all along.  Maybe I'm just delusional from the crippling blow to my nail.

"Sounds okay," Austin replies.

// Nyota

Something suddenly clicked. "We don't need to do that. The key words," I said, "what were they?" Everyone stared at me blankly for a second. Finally, Sora caught on. I could see it in her face. She explained it quickly to everyone else. After a few moments, I walked up to Laura, hatred burning in her face. It was almost painful to watch.

"Red tide," I whispered. Laura slumped, and dropped everything, staring blankly ahead.

"Did it work?" asked Lipa.

"Yes." I tried to sound confident, but worry radiated around me. "What's the next one?" A faint sound escaped Austin's lips.

"Gemini." Sonny rushed over to him, trying to stop him from standing up, and possibly opening his wound again.

"Okay," I said, my throat suddenly feeling dry and tight. "Gemini." Laura stood straight up abruptly, her stare still blank, but with traces of humanity this time. Awkward silence filled the room like a bog.

Lipa was the first to say anything. "Did it work this time?" Laura cleared her throat.

"Yes," she said, shakily. "Yes, it worked. What was I doing this time?" Sonny looked over.

"Just following orders," she said, trying to create some levity. Laura started to tear up when she saw Austin.

"I did this," she whispered. "This was all my fault."

Sonny~

"No, it's not," Kayden reassured her. "Miss Russo messed with your mind to make you like this."

"Guys, duck!" I screamed.  Flying robots came down on us.  Quinn quickly brought the temperature down so their mechanisms froze.  We jumped up and smashed them while they were down.

"Qui... Hot..." Austin said quietly before passing out.

"Quinn, I think he wants you to make it hotter," I translated.  The temperature went back to normal.

"As we were saying..." Nyota said.

"What if we spied on Miss Russo to find out what code word puts her back to normal," Sora suggested, "permanently.  We have a specially trained spy right here to teach us how."

Everyone seemed to think this was a good idea.  To be on the safe side, we brought Austin to the infirmary first, though.

We didn't want Laura to go on a killing spree while we were trying to help her, so we shut her down and hid her in a safe spot that may or may not be a random technopath's dorm room.  Don't worry.  She gave permission.  So Russo couldn't see us, we got the technopath to put a security tape from a few months ago on the monitors.  Hopefully the person in the security office didn't have a good memory.

After I gave everyone a special makeover just for our mission, we were ready to go.

Laura-

I sat in the room with the technopath, Anna, for a while. As soon as they left the technopath started doing homework.

"I can't believe the phsycology teacher get's to give us homework! I mean, why should we care about the zodiac signs?" I  knew what was coming next, but I was shut down so I couldn't do anything.

"OK, so I'm a Vergo, but I know this guy who's sign's like, gemini, and he swears this stuff's true." There it goes. The white hot rage returns and suddenly I'm hurtling Anna across the room. She slams into a wall. There's a disgusting cracking sound and she lay there unmoving. I made sure she was dead before returning to the halls. There's was a weapons storage in a spare room Miss. Russo had told me about. I ran in grabbed to guns and a smoke bomb before taking off again. I saw everyone I hated on their way to Russo's office. They were wearing disguises. I set off the bomb before ducking away.

"Stop! That's a smoke bomb!" Lipa said suddenly stopping them. Her eyes narrowed.

"Laura." I traveled in the smoke. I knocked them out one by one, always keeping to the protective smoke. Lipa was harder. She knew how to fight me in the smoke. But I knocked her out too, eventually. I stepped out of the smoke as Miss Russo walked up.

"Good job Laura. Get some rest. We'll take it from here." I nodded and started back to the room before stopping.

"Laura, are there any casualties we should know about?" Russo asked.

"A technopath called Anna." I started off again before hearing someone say my name. It was the boy, he was still concious.

"Laura, don't. Stop this." I sent my boot down to his face. He went out like a light. He had a black eye, and a bloody nose to show for it.

Wow. Laura. Is. Very. Freakishly. Scary. Like. Oh. My. Gosh. Scary.

Quinn-

I saw Laura's merciless eyes, a fist, and then everything went black. When I got up I groaned. We were in the cell. Again. Everyone else was aready awake.

"Wakey wakey sleeping beauty, we're back in the cell. And once again, WHY IS THERE NO MIRROR IN HERE!?!?!" Sonny shouted. I groaned again. Being in a confined space with Sonny is the last thing I wanted.

"Ok, obviously this isn't working. Any ideas?" Kayden asked.

"Makeup! Does anyone have any makeup?" There was a loud and annoyed chorus of 'shut up Sonny'. She decided to go pout in the corner.

"Anyway, any ideas?" Kayden asked again.

"I was so sure that would work." Austin said sadly. Sora had a crazyman grin on her face.

"It did work," she said quietly.

"What? On what planet would you say that that train wreck worked?" I asked, completely confused by Sora's sudden confidence.

"When Miss Russo said the code word, I was able to get into her mind for a split second while her guard was down. The code word that permenantly saved Laura is Lemon Drops (you guessed it, Harry Potter reference ppl!)." I burst into a shockingly loud laugh attack.

"LEMON DROPS!" I shouted, still laughing my head off. "Is Miss Russo really that dense?!"

"You've got to admit no one would suspect it," Lipa said quietly. I guess that made sense. But I was too busy laughing to register sense.

"QUINN, WOULD YOU SHUT UP!" Sonny shocked everyone by shouting. I calmed down.

"Sorry, but seriously, lemon squares?"

"Oh, so we shout Lemon Drops at her, then what happens?" I reminded Sora, "She dies? Or does she turn into the old her?"

Austin winced.  "I don't think she should take the risk if she might die," he mumbled, "Oh, and Sonny, I didn't realize you had a brain." Everyone snickered.  I just ignored them.  "But really guys, Sonny may have a point."

"Sora, did Miss Russo's brain specify?" Kayden asked.
