Hey Chatterboxers! I

Chatterbox: Pudding's Place

Hey Chatterboxers! I

Hey Chatterboxers! I haven't been on Cricket in a while. Some of you might remember me. So since I just got back I've decided to make a new RP! Ok, so it's like an academy for 'special' kids. For example empaths, or people with super reflexes. Basicaly low key super powers. Ya it's kinda corny, but it's fun! So yeah.

Here's my charrie:

Name- Laura Anderson

Physical Description- average height, long strait black hair, sharp blue eyes, tan

Personality- nice, funny, easily excited

powers: empath (can read other people's emotions), and can sometimes control other people's emotions too

Ok, so, the whole thing is the school is trying to turn these kids with special abilities into living weapons.

Laura-

I stared at the wall of my room with the speakers on full blast. I wasn't exactly sure what song was playing. I usually ignored the lyrics. Suddenly my mom banged on the door. "Laura! Someone's here to see you!" I shut off the speakers and opened the door. "Who?" "Just come and see for yourself." While my mom just walked down the staris I slid down the hand rail and jumped down at the bottom. A tall woman with short cropped hair and sunglasses in a suit waited at the door. "Who are you?" I asked. She seemed to glare right through me with those dark sunglasses, like she was testing me or something. "I am Miss Russo of the Academy for Special Children." I glanced at my mom. "What, am I mental or something?" My mom rolled her eyes and sighed. "Of course not Laura! Miss Russo's just talking about, your, uh, unique abilities." "Oh gosh. You mean?" "Yes." "Great. Ok so what's the plan? Take me to a government facility and do tests on me?" I asked Miss Russo. "No. You're not that special." "Gee, thanks." "Go on Laura, you'll be able to learn how to control it." "Yeah ok, whatever." That's when I packed my bags and headed off to the Academy in a dark limosene with blacked-out windows.

Laura-

I sat in the hospital bed flipping through channels. I was so bored, and I couldn't even eat anything! All I could do was drink water, gain strength training, and watch TV. I couldn't even complain because I couldn't talk! I finally just decided to turn off the TV. I was about to yell in frustration, but, oh ya, I couldn't. Suddenly the door opened, and I was delighted to see Austin. I tried to stand up but he shook his head. I noticed his solem expression, and who was with him. Gail? I tried to talk then remembered I couldn't. Gail noticed something was wrong. "What happened to her?" she asked. So Austin explained. "She was in the explosion, which ended up getting a pole lodged in her stomach. So she has this scar. Show Gail Laura." Automatically like I've had to do for doctors plenty these past few days I pulled up my shirt, and removed the bandages revealing the ugly scar. I'd gotten an organ transplant, then had fake skin put there in place of the old gone skin on both sides, considering it was a gaping hole. Then they'd had to stitch it up so not only did I have ugly fake skin in the shape of a large circle next to my belly button, but I also had black metal stitches surounding the circle. It was truly disgusting, and painful. Gail wrinkled her nose at the sight. "OK, I get it, put the bandages back on." I did, then flipped down my shirt and motioned for Austin to go on. "So after that she was choked by General Costykin, who damaged her vocal chords incredibly badly. She can't talk right now, and they're not sure if she ever will be able to again." Gail looked horrified. I nodded, then picked up my pad and pen. How are the others? I showed it to Gail who swallowed hard. "Cells. They're being held my some people who work for Russo. They have a box." It was my turn to look afraid. Those boxes were not fun. Suddenly I got an idea. If Miss Russo knew my fear was my future, and since that already happened, does that mean that she can't use any fear against me now because the only one she knew about has happened and I can't be afraid of it anymore? Austin read my writing, then shook his head. "She'll have undoubtably thought up something else that scares the living daylights out of you." How very reassuring, thanks. He laughed. "I'm only telling the truth." Gail laughed. "You're truthfulness isn't always welcome," she said with a small smile. Austin sat on my bed. "Whatever, now we've got another problem. How are we going to get the others out of there?" None of us could come up with anything. "You got me out," Gail said. "Just do that again." "It isn't that simple. I got you out because I know you. I don't know the others." What's that got to do with anything? You didn't know me, but you got me out before Russo found me. He sighed. "I didn't need to know you. I could only get Gail out because my ability is to see the truth in others. And since I don't truly know your friends, I can't get them out. I could get you out, Laura, because we've been observing you for a while, trying to decide when was best to get you out of the Academy." I would have sighed if i could. Instead I just wrote it on my pad which brought a small smile to his face. "Then what can we do?" Gail asked. Austin shook his head. "I don't know." Then he looked straight into my eyes and said, "But I will do everything in my power to try." I took his hand and nodded my thanks.

Quinn-

I heard voices and decided to listen. It was Sora, Sonny, and Airlia! I ran to the wall and listened in. "What are you doing here?" That was Sora, she sounded angry. Good for her. It was that creep's fault we were in here and without Laura anyway. "Miss Russo... She thinks it's my fault we lost Laura. So she sent me here for punishment..." She trailed off as if saddened by this whole situation. The nerve of her stupidity brought me back to my usual self, and I scoffed in disbelief. "Quinn? Is that you?" Sonny asked. "Yup, and don't you believe a word of what this freak says. We're in these cells because of her. And why we've been having to face the boxes!" I shouted angrily. "But Quinn, she's thinking the same as she's saying," Sora said quietly. "And that makes it all better?! She's probably faking those thoughts. You could never get into Miss Russo's mind could you? Well Airlia's her righthand woman, so she probably knows all the tricks." I would have glared at her if I hadn't been in a different cell. "But I'm telling the truth! You have to believe me! Miss Russo sent me here because she thinks it's my fault! Please..." She'd started to cry. I have to admit she was a pretty convincing actress. She swooned Sonny and Sora easily enough. But I wasn't falling for it. "Oh shut up!" I snapped. But I could hear Sora's soothing voice on the other side. "It's ok, it's ok." I couldn't believe what I was hearing. "You don't seriously trust her do you? She's just using us!" Sora snapped at me to be quiet and Sonny started ranting about some new shoes she was never going to get and I sighed. "We need to be thinking of a way out.," I muttered. "No really? Why don't you think of something, Captin Obvious!" Sora snapped. "Fine I will!" I walked up to the bars of the cell. Sure enough there was a guard on duty. He looked maybe 23. I grinned in anticipation. I got this. "Hey can you come here for a sec, I need to ask you a question!" I yelled. He glanced at me, then at the door, then came over. "What?" he asked in a monotone voice. "Just wanted to know where the security cameras are, you know for when I break out," I said in a flirty voice while batting my eyelashes. He smiled. "You can't get out." I noticed the keys, and the gun in his belt and went in for the kill. I kissed him through the bars and grabbed his gun. I jerked away and pointed the gun at his head. "Open the door, or I shoot," I said calmly. He guiltily opened the door and I knocked him out. I turned to Sora, Sonny, and Airlia's cell, grinning. Sonny whistled. "Nicely done." I took a mock bow. "Thank you, thank you. Now come on." I tested about 5 keys before I found the right one. It was in the lock when alarms started wailing and I noticed the guy had gotten up. He knocked me out. When I woke up I was back in my cell. "Nice going, genius," Sonny said from through the wall. "Hey! You try it; see how you do!" I snapped back. My head throbbed and I groaned. "Can't--the guard's a girl now," she said glumly. I looked out and sure enough a woman was guarding us now. Great. "Now what?" I asked. "We'll think of something," Airlia muttered, who I still didn't trust by the way.

I wanted to write more, but I have to eat!

Sora-

The escape didn’t go well. We were back in our cells, and the guards had been switched.

Airlia who I normally wouldn’t have trusted seemed fine. She was stranded here, like us. Mrs. Russo had only used her.

“Well… It was nice knowing you.” I said, trying to sound up-beat.

“Yeah… Thanks for meeting me. Life’s been nice.” Quinn agreed.

Sonny sniffled. “I’ll never get those Dolce & Gabbana shoes.”

I was so miserable that I didn’t even giggle.

Suddenly something hit the floor.
“Was that just-“ Airlia held onto the bars, trying to see through the dark.

“The guard?” I finished.

And sure enough the guard was on the floor, and a boy was standing next to her.

Laura-

After hours of complaining I'd managed to get Austin to let me help with the escape. With Gail's help I managed to get up and change from that stupid hospital gown into black cargo pants, combat boots, and a black muscle shirt. I grabbed a gun and then he, Gail and I left. Gail was the diversion and he and I were extraction. When we got to the prison Gail went first. She parachuted down into the front yard. Then Austin and I were to go through the back entrance and into the building. I watched Gail parachute down. Austin turned to me. "If you ever feel like you can't go on, you have to get to the extraction point first. I still think this is to dangerous." I rolled my eyes. "All right let's go." The helicopter dropped down low to the ground. Austin and I jumped down. I felt a pang of fresh pain in my stomach but ignored it. We creeped up to the door and I picked the lock. All the guards would be after Gail so no one stopped us as we headed down to level 5, where everyone was being kept. I picked the lock on the door and Austin knocked out the single guard that was there. I heard voices. "Was that just-" I couldn't put my finger on who that was. Then, "The guard?" I rushed up to the cell door. "Laura?!" They all looked surprised to see me. I just nodded and tried to pick the lock. Didn't work. I turned to Austin and held out my hand. I mouthed the word keys and he nodded. He picked up the keys and tossed them to me. I was about to unlock the door when I stopped dead. Airlia. I pointed at her in shock. "Airlia? Oh yeah, Miss Russo locked her down here because she couldn't find you." I backed away from the door. Why did Miss Russo want me? I could feel Airlia's emotions. Her adrenalin was running high. She was excited. But why? "Laura, why aren't you talking?" Quinn asked. I made a cutting motion across my throat. They seemed to understand. Then Sora seemed to remember something. "Laura, the pole." I swallowed hard and lifted my shirt to show off the ugly scar. Sonny actually screamed. "What is that?" she asked horrofied. Austin grabbed my arm. "We've got 5 minutes left. Hurry up." I nodded and unlocked the door. We started to run out of the building. We'd made it all the way to the door when everything went wrong. I was grabbed from behind and pulled back inside. I kicked and punched but whoever was holding me was too strong for that. "Come along, sweetheart, don't want to miss dinner now do we?" Con. I should have guessed. I heard Austin screaming my name. Then the others started to scream it too. Airlia unlocked the door and came inside. I felt a small wave of happiness because I thought she was going to help me. But instead she just turned around and locked the door behind her. Airlia turned to me and smiled. "Welcome home, Laura Kostikov." I glared at her. I bit Con's hand but that just gained me a swift blow to the head and I became unconscious.

Ignore the bad writing. Sorry, I'm really tired today. We went to an Easter party last night that lasted to like 2am.

Sorry, I haven't posted for a while. I was sick in bed for a week and a half, then I went on a trip so I haven't been able to post.

Cassie-

I awoke in a dark cell. I had to think for a moment to remember what had happened. I hadn't even gotten to my place when the M16 people had caught me and knocked me out. I looked around for a way of escape. No windows. Only one bolted door. I peeked through the crack. A guard right outside. Wait, he was coming towards me. He slid the bolt and grinned at me. "Come on. We've got questions for you," he said.

I followed him out without comment. Maybe there would be more of a chance of escape from out there. He dragged me to a small door and stood waiting for me to enter. "After you," I said glancing around. Nope. More guards. The guard grinned crookedly and put his gun behing me. Okay, I guess not. I walked into the room. A lady stood there and two guards stood next to me. The other guard left. She turned to me. "Cassie Stoll," she said. I didn't reply. "Where is Laura?"

Laura? What had happened to her? The last thing I had heard was that she was captured."Is that a trick question? Don't you have her?"

"No. Where is she?"

"I don't know."

"Tell me."

"I don't know."

The lady looked at me coolly. Then she glanced at the guards. They started coming for me. I forced them to fall backwards and jumped to the window. As soon as I reached it a shock went through me and I fell back, winded. The lady was unmoved. "We wouldn't let you go that easily."

I glared at her. She clapped once and ten guards poured in the door and held me down. I struggled, but I could not hold back ten people. I tried to make them let go one by one, but one of them crushed my arms in a steel grip and I screamed in pain. They dragged me out the door.

Sora-

We were at the door when everything went wrong. Laura was grabbed from behind. I wanted to go after her, but the boy – Austin, I think – pulled me back.

“We’ve got a bigger chance of saving her if we aren’t captured.” I knew what he meant. If we stayed any longer, we’d all be in a cell, and that would be the end. Yet if we left, there was a chance that Laura could be saved.

We weaved through the building until we found the exit and Gail standing next to it.

“Where’s Laura?” She demanded.

Sonny brushed off her black tights. “They have her… Again.” She sighed. “Well, we’d better get her!” Gail began to stomp down the hall, but Quinn stopped her.

“What about Kayden, Lipa, Nyota and Cassie? We need them. We can’t rescue Laura by ourselves.”

Gail wrinkled her forehead. “But where are they?”

Austin pointed to a building that was even shabbier and darker than ours. “In there.”

*

It didn’t take long to get in because of Gail’s super-strength.

We let Cassie walk ahead so that she could tell us if she noticed any movement. Quinn was last, watching out for any signs of human.

There was only one guard on duty so it didn’t take long to get the keys.

“Who’s there?” I heard someone hiss. Was it Kayden?

“It’s us.” I whispered.

“Sora? Are Quinn, Sonny and Gail with you?”

“Yes and we’re getting you out of here.”

“What about the guard?” That was Cassie.

“He’s out.” Gail replied.

Soon Lipa, Kayden, Nyota and Cassie were out of their cells. They didn’t look too battered.

“Did they put you in the box?” Quinn wondered hesitantly.

All three shook their heads.

“C’mon, guys!” Austin said. “We don’t have much time to talk. Laura might already be dead.”

With that we ran out of the jail.

~Sonny

I may be psychic, but I am not as smart as the other 'talented' kids.  As we were about to go get Laura, I had no idea of what was going on.  "Wait, so Airlia's the bad guy?" I asked Sora, who was the closest to me.  She nodded slowly.  "And she captured Laura, and now we're going to save her from Miss Russo along with the hottie," I said, pointing at Austin, "who, unfortunately, has a thing for Gail.".

"Wow, Sonny just said 'unfortunately.'  That's like, five syllables, " Quinn said quietly to Sora.

"He does not have a thing for me," Gail whispered fiercely, blushing.

I smiled.  " Hon, the two of you are practically dating," I remarked.

She scowled and trudged along more slowly.   Austin shushed us.  "She's in here, " he said, his eyes closed.  Two boys I recognized from my classes guarded the doors.  "I've got this," I announced, although I had no idea how, since I wasn't even wearing lip gloss.

I walked up to them.  "Hey, Sonny, you're back from your assignment,"  one said.

"I see the two of you got even tougher while I was gone," I said. "Since you're so tough,  can you help me with something." I tried to think of why there would be such low security here, but I couldn't. Instead, I started to think of a job for them.

"We're not supposed to leave our post," the shorter one reminded his partner. The two got in a tight huddle.  "One little thing shouldn't hurt, though."

"Great.  I need you to take my tanning booth to the truck for me," I replied.  What truck, I'll figure out later.

As the boys and I made our way to the dorm, everyone else sneaked inside.

Actually I created Austin to be with Laura. And sorry it took me so long to post, my dad's been making me watch reruns of old Three Stooges shows before we go see the movie this Friday.

Laura-

When I woke up I was tied to a chair, there was a long wire going into my arm. It hurt like crazy. I blinked away sleep and looked around. I was sitting at a table. Airlia, Con, and Miss Russo were also there.
"Where am I?" I gasped. "And why can I talk?" I realized the voice wasn't mine, but the words were. I sounded robotic, must be the machine. Miss Russo smiled.
"You are here for dinner Laura, didn't Con mention it?" Vaguely I remembered Con saying something about a dinner. "And you can talk because we've hooked you up to a machine that says what you want to say." Not confusing at all.
"Why am I here? Why do you want me?" I asked. I was very curious about this, considering I'd had to almost die twice to figure it out.
"Your ability to control others of course." I snickered.
"How do you expect to get it?"
"Oh sweet Laura, you never wondered why I seemed to have so many abilities?" Come to think of it it was odd that she seemed to have a power for every scenario. I looked at her cautiously. "It's because I take them Laura. I can absorb the powers of others by touching or being near them. I have all your sweet little friends' powers. Except Lipa's. You Russian weapons seem to have a, let's say, resistance, to my ability. Therefore I can't take it from you like I would originally, otherwise I would have it already. Therefore I will control you and make you do it for me." I glared at her.
"How do you expect to control me? That's the power you want from me."
"Oh Miss Costikov, there are other ways of persuasion." My dad. I'd completely forgotten about him. Miss Russo had had him all along. Now what? Luckily enough I didn't have to say anything, because right then (perfect timing if I might add) Austin, Sora, Gail, Quinn, Cassie, Lipa, Nyota, and Kayden burst through the door. Miss Russo actually laughed.
"Oh Austin my dear son," Did she just say son? "You always were a thorn in my side. What now? Come to save the damsel in distress?"
"HEY! I am NOT a damsel in distress!" I snapped. Airlia laughed.
"Not from our point of view." I glared.
"Now!" Austin shouted. It all happened fast. Gail came and broke me free from the machine and the chair with her super strength. Austin lept at Miss Russo, Lipa toppled Con, and I leapt across the table at Airlia. I was vaguely aware of fighting going on around me. I punched Airlia's nose. She screeched in pain and kicked my chest. The wind knocked out of me, I ducked as she aimed a punch. I made a perfect round house kick but she caught my foot.
"I know all your tricks, damsel." That did it. Out of pure rage I punched at her over and over. I got one good hit in and she was thrown into a wall. She screeched again and grabbed my hair. I stomped on her foot and elbowed her. She crumpled breathless to a wall where I knocked her out. Lipa had kicked Con's butt and Austin was backing away from Miss Russo in way worse shape than she was.
"Next time son, I've missed you." He glared at her.
"Austin let's go," I said sternly. We ran. All of us to the helicopter. It was in the air, a mile from the house when I remembered something. I turned to Austin frantic.
"What now?" I motioned for a pen and paper. He gave some. I wrote down in hurried letters: We have to go back, Miss Russo's got my dad!

We decided we would all go in separate groups. I am going with Laura, since I don't intend for her to get captured again. I felt personally responsible for the first time. Sora and Nyota are going with us as well.

Quinn, Cassie, and Austin are in the second group. Lipa, Kayden, and Sonny are in the third group.

"All right, everyone has their area to search. So make sure you don't get caught. Here is a way to communicate, " Austin says handing us little devices one puts in one's ears.

We take them and insert them in our ears. THen we head off to separate entrances into the school.

Sora-

Nyota, Gail, Laura and I entered through the workers entrance. From there we took the elevator to the second floor.

While we were waiting Laura scribbled something on her notepad. This is our floor, right?

“Yeah. Our dorm’s here.” I said.

Then we should look in the room where we first met Dad.

Gail, Nyota and I nodded in agreement.

We walked into our dorm. Everything was the same, but something felt weird like we were being watched.

In the bathroom we opened the door and climbed through the tunnel. Before we jumped out, we listened for voices but the coast seemed clear. We leaped out onto the floor.

“He’s not here.” Nyota sounded disappointed.

“No…” Gail paced back and forth, then turned around. “This is a TV, it shows the people in the academy.” She pointed at the screens on the wall.

“That looks more like a computer to me.” I pressed a button next to the black display. It turned on, and we saw the front entrance, a few random dorms, a hallway and a classroom. The scenes kept switching.

Laura tapped on my shoulder. There’re video cameras all over.

Nyota spoke into her com. “Stop where you are. Look for cameras.”

I heard a gasp in my earpiece and Cassie asked: “How do you know?”

“Because we’re watching you,” Gail whispered, watching the videos. She turned to us. “This isn’t good.”

You think?

That’s when an idea struck me. “What if we use this? We can see all over the school. We might even be able to find the room Laura’s dad is in. And we can warn the others if someone’s coming.”

But what about my dad?

“Don’t worry, Laura. He’ll still be saved.” Gail comforted her.

Nyota floated involuntarily to the ceiling. “And while we’re at it, we might as well search this room.”
