CB Reunion 2024

CB Reunion 2024

Hello, everyone! Happy (early) Valentine's Day and welcome to the 2024 CB Reunion! It's so good to see you.

For new CBers who are unfamiliar, the CB Reunion happens every Valentine’s Day. Old CBers come back to talk to their old friends and the current CBers. It’s a lot of fun! While the reunion is a lot of old CBers reconnecting, current CBers are 100% welcome here too, so current CBers should totally feel free to introduce themselves!

Speaking of introducing yourself… I’m Periwinkle, best known as Peri. I’m a current CBer, and I’ve been here since January 2021. I use she/her pronouns. I’m usually seen here working on reviving Kyngdom (which we are in the middle of right now, for old CBers who probably didn’t know that), giving advice, writing about my AEs, and recommending music. I’m also known for creating Make a Friend and Care Packages! I hosted the reunion last year, and I’m hosting again this year.

For those of you who’d like to look through some old reunion threads, here are some. Thanks to Celine (current CBer) for finding the 2023 reunion, and Kitten (old CBer, I believe) for putting some old reunion links in the 2022 reunion and making it way easier for me to organize this list!

That should be everything! Let me know if there are any problems with the links. Have fun, all <3

(And my apologies if this is up too early — I realized I had a busy week so I decided to post it a tad earlier than I’d planned to. Please keep this topped so everyone can find it come Valentine's Day!)

It's Jay :)

Welp, here I am again! Me and Chaser left CB for the summer and never really came on again. I don't really feel old enough to be a past CBer---the other old CBers I've seen post on here are in college and stuff! We actually joined around this time last year, so we were only on CB for a semester or so, so idk who remembers us.

Chaser isn't with me today, but I'll make sure he shows up here at least once sometime this week. Our friend Interrobang was also on CB a little, so they might show up too. I'll probably be around for at least a few days. It's good to see you all

JAY HIII :DD (And hi to Chaser and Interrobang, whenever they show up :D) It's so good to see you again!! I definitely remember you guys!! You were so so supportive of my ski lodge (which is still...uh, i think it's still going? haven't posted in a while, but I'm really trying to get something out by February break, but i've been ridiculously busy lately so idk :P) which means so much <33 And yeah like Hawkstar said, you guys always had such fun banter in your posts, and I really miss your witty and sometimes-wacky sense of humor (remember the zoodle war and CB city rp? the good old days XD)

alright i gotta go because sChOoL but i'll be back later :DD

*optional hug*

We have missed you so much!! And Chaser and 'Bang too!! I'm so happy you guys are doing well. If the others don't get a chance to come on here, tell them I say hi! Great to see you again <3

(sorry if I come on too strong; I guess we didn't know each other super well but I always loved hearing from you, Chaser, and Interrobang)

Okay WOW this is fun already :DD

@Luminescence, I remember you a bit! I believe you pop on from time to time, and I see your old comments as well :) Don't worry, I do my best to do plenty XD but yeah... there aren't very many..? Also, I'd love to hear your opinions on Keeper! I always enjoy seeing different angles of that series, especially if I haven't considered that side. Whether your strong opinion is good and/or bad, I would really love to hear about it!

@Starseeker, I love, love your name! Wings of Firrrrre yess~ Amazing series! I feel like I've seen your old posts before, but maybe it was Starchaser? I dunno... It's super cool that it's been nine years since the time your first joined :0 What was your favorite part of the CB when you were active? Did you have ski lodges back then (if you know what that is? I don't remember when the first was mad)

@June, hi! I love your AEs :D I'm glad that they've resurfaced! What sort of things do you write?

@Jay (and Chaser, whenever he appears) It super nice to see you again! We never really interacted, but I definetely wondered where y'all went. So yeah! I rememer ya :) How've you been? I always loved seeing your banter whenever you posted, btw :)

Saluations and happy belated birthday, Hawkstar! It's lovely to meet you! I'm very glad you like my AEs. I'm quite fond of them myself! As for what I write, oh my kyngdom (do CBers still use that exclamation?), so much! Recently I've been writing a lot of academic type things, like essays and position pieces for philosophy studies, as well as some independent research projects. Besides that, I still write a lot creatively, from a co-written murder mystery, to poetry, to various stories and mythologies and world/nature/science design stuff in/for my long running fantasy world. (Fun fact: I actually began working on it when I was still on the CB.)

I think it's wonderful that you're writing a ski lodge! I fondly remember such stories form my time on the CB. I'd love to hear more about it, or any of your other writing, if you feel so compelled to share. :D

Thank youuu :)

N-o... I haven't heard that before, like, ever, but we should definetely bring that back! I'll try my best to fit that in whenever I can :D

Cool! I think it's great that you are writing academic things (are they your own intrest stuff or is it for school? [or both?]) Ooooh murder mystery! I'm not all that great with that (and yet I enjoy writing ski lodges :P) But mythologies are the best! Which mythologies do you prefer (or are you just making up your own?) And ofc, poems are amazing.

Thank you again! If you have time, here's the link (hopefully) to my lodge! It's been sorta at a pause lately, but I haven't abandoned it!

Hi!! I remember you a bit too :)

KotLC: I used to love this series with my entire heart and I've read it like 8 times (at least books 1-6) but as I've gotten older I've become kind of annoyed with the lack of diversity in the books. Like you're telling me LGBTQ+ elves don't exist and if they do why aren't we addressing that hello? Also, there are literally three POC-coded characters in the main crew (if you count Wylie, four if you cout Maruca which I don't). I know it's a fantasy but again, you're telling me elves with darker skin don't exist? That just. doesn't make evolutionary sense. Also hot take I don't ship Sokeefe. Keefe can do better. And I don't ship Sophitz/Fitzphie because Fitz is lowkey not?? nice to her??? Also in the most recent books they have been literally all filler the only important thing that happened in the last book was (SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT) Sokeefe becoming canon. (SPOILER OVER). Lovely, can I please have my plot now. Idk man. KotLC will always be a huge part of my childhood, but I wish that Shannon would put a little (a lot) more representation in her books because kids of all backgrounds and identities are reading them. And also she needs to wrap it up ahaha 10 books is really pushing it here :) ships-wise the only hill I'll really die on is a Keefe and Tam enemies to lovers trope. you cannot tell me people spend that long thinking about each other's hair if they don't have at least a little crush. I mean I definitely don't XD What are your thoughts?

Hello, past and present CBers! I'm WildWolf, She/Her. I'm a current CBer, hopefully to be so for many years. I LOVE reading fantasy. Up on my list are KotLC,  Harry Potter, Peter Nimble, the wizards of once, How to Train Your Dragon, (the book not the movie haha) and many more. I love this idea so much, thank you Peri for making it!! :DD

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! And welcome back, past CBers! It's wonderful to see you around again :)

LUMIIII I remember you! We never talked, but I believe I was already on the CB when you were still making one or two random posts, and I've seen a lot of your old posts from back in the Golden Age. We still do XDs sometimes... though not that often, it's true.

Starseeker, it's so nice to see you!! Aww, a loveable little mutt? (And a loveable little boyfriend?) <33 It really is so beautiful that the CB Reunion is today...

@June, yay, good to know you're still writing! Go writers :) "Oh my Kyngdom" has fallen slightly out of use, but we should revive it. (Also oh my Gandalf and all the other innovative expressions y'all used to have :D )

@Luminescence I think I've seen some of your poetry before and its absolutely amazing <333 and yes it would be interesting to hear your opinions on Keeper of the Lost Cities. there's both good sides and bad sides to it

@Starseeker yesss Wings of Fire your name is so cool and Nightwing-y :) art history and museum sounds like such an interesting and cool topic, especially the greek, roman, and renaissance. and yes, stars are so cool! what was your favorite part of CB back then?

@June it's so cool that AEs are still very much active today as they were long ago! your AEs sound really nice. What do you think was the most memorable part of CB?

@Jay :))) hiii so great to see you! not sure if you recognize me since I joined around last summer as well, but yeah :D (and hi to Chaser and Interrobang whenever they appear!)

Hi everyone!  Sterling here, they/them pronouns please, and I'm currently procrastinating doing my art history homework to post this!  I first joined the CB in 2020, which was... four years ago??? That's crazy.  I'm an artist, writer, reader, and all-around history and nature enthusiast.  I'll be starting college this fall, where I plan to study historic preservation and linguistics.  I'm not too active on the CB anymore, but it makes me really happy to see (read???) all of you!

We're happy to hear from you, Sterling, and from all the other wonderful CBers!
