CB Reunion 2024

CB Reunion 2024

Hello, everyone! Happy (early) Valentine's Day and welcome to the 2024 CB Reunion! It's so good to see you.

For new CBers who are unfamiliar, the CB Reunion happens every Valentine’s Day. Old CBers come back to talk to their old friends and the current CBers. It’s a lot of fun! While the reunion is a lot of old CBers reconnecting, current CBers are 100% welcome here too, so current CBers should totally feel free to introduce themselves!

Speaking of introducing yourself… I’m Periwinkle, best known as Peri. I’m a current CBer, and I’ve been here since January 2021. I use she/her pronouns. I’m usually seen here working on reviving Kyngdom (which we are in the middle of right now, for old CBers who probably didn’t know that), giving advice, writing about my AEs, and recommending music. I’m also known for creating Make a Friend and Care Packages! I hosted the reunion last year, and I’m hosting again this year.

For those of you who’d like to look through some old reunion threads, here are some. Thanks to Celine (current CBer) for finding the 2023 reunion, and Kitten (old CBer, I believe) for putting some old reunion links in the 2022 reunion and making it way easier for me to organize this list!

That should be everything! Let me know if there are any problems with the links. Have fun, all <3

(And my apologies if this is up too early — I realized I had a busy week so I decided to post it a tad earlier than I’d planned to. Please keep this topped so everyone can find it come Valentine's Day!)

Omk I was literaly just about to post this and then the website stopped working haha. Anyways here's what I was going to post cause I wrote it so ima post it.

Ah hey all! Been a minuet! I’ve actually been stalking the cb for like a week feeling very nostalgic, been in and out of the er so it was comforting going over old RPs and thinking about past friends :) I had no idea we did the valentines thing every year now? That’s cute haha. Mm I'm Claaws, don't really remember when I was active, but think I stopped posting in like 2018. If you've been reading old Kyndom threads, you know who I am haha.

Hmm what’s been up with me.. well the whole er thing ig lol. I’ve been diagnosed with pots (autonomic nervous system disorder, probably autoimmune disorder too, affects stuff like heart rate, blood pressure, temp regulation, etc), Ehlers Danlos syndrome (connective tissue disorder, affects Literally Everything. I had to have 7 ribs removed as a freshmen in college because of it. Not sure why they didn’t think to test me for it then??), and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (autoimmune disorder, it’s when ur body decides it’s suddenly allergic to absolutely everything. Heat is a huge trigger for me! If I get too hot when I’m sleeping I’ll wake up being unable to breath and have to use my inhaler. Very fun haha). These three disorders are more often diagnosed together than not. I’ve had Eds and pots most of my life, it’s just severely escalated over the past yearish (I’m investing in mobility aids and a service dog, that kind of escalation) So that’s been fun to navigate :) Also have a bunch of fun disorders that come along with it, like endometriosis, a type of IBS specific to EDS that I forgot the name of, scoliosis, and a few others. I'm also suspecting now that I have other disorders like Addison's Disease and/or Lupus, but I'm not 100% sure and still need to get tested. And I'm seeing like 12 specialists now which is 5 more since I was going to post this haha. Also, if you suspect you have a chronic illness, please advocate for yourself *especially* if your afab. I’ve made all these diagnosises myself and told my doctors and made them refer me to specialists when they didn't believe me (who confirmed my suspicions, or referred me to someone else because I was ‘too complicated’. True story). Chronic illness isn’t as ‘rare’ as doctors claim it is, it’s just rare to be properly diagnosed. “Sometimes when you hear hoofbeats, it really is a zebra.” It’s not normal to be constantly in pain, even if you’re athletic!! That includes periods, period pain *isn’t normal*! Don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself <3

Besides that! I’m a senior in college right now! I’m 21! I’m supposed to graduate this semester and fingers crossed that happens, unsure if I can physically manage another year of college. I’m majoring in political science (is anyone surprised haha) minoring in philosophy and certificating in lgbtqia+ studies. I’m also currently the president of a mental health club on campus (I started it back up again after it faded out because of covid), and I have been for the past couple years. Had to take a break last semester, but we’re getting things started up again this semester and it’s looking good! I’m also on the board of a mental health organization, I speak about mental illness and trauma in high/middle schools (did 8 speeches back to back on Friday, it's very fulfilling but I was so exhausted afterwards), and I was interning for a lgbtqia+ organization. I did it last semester, and they wanted me back for the spring but I’ve been really sick so I couldn’t. Oh! I also went to Argentina for the summer and met my dads side of the family which was fun. No, I still cannot speak Spanish but I tried haha. I have like 12? piercings now and 5 tattoos. I still want more hehe :) (but I have learned that I am now allergic to tattoos, figured it out while getting a touch up. Am I gonna get more anyways? Yes. Yes I am). I can’t really think of anything else I’ve been up to at the moment. Still a lot of brain fog :)

Also! I saw that you all started Kyndom up again! That makes me really happy, Claaws helped me work through a lot :) Fun fact! I accidentally coded her with Borderline Personality Disorder, which I ended up having. (Yeah.. that explains why I was so emotionally all over the place always. Sorry about that!! I had like 10 very aggressive im leaving threads. Honestly I’m not really sure why people idealized me so much?? I’m doing a lot better now though in terms of recognizing when I’m having episodes and not acting on it. My therapist is making me get the shadow work journal that’s all over tiktok so hopefully that helps? I've also been diagnosed with like 11 other psychiatric disorders like Bipolar 2, CPTSD, and Autism (which arguably isn't a 'disorder' we just think differently)) I found a song called Product of My Own Design by Artio that describes Claaws I think perfectly. This would definitely be her anthem. Also, she reminds me a lot of Catra from she-ra (probably because I relate to Catra a lot haha. Honestly her story is a lot like Catras, apparently it’s my favorite trope. Like the similarities between Shadow Weaver and Celeste, Claaws and Lunnee and Catra and Adora?? Ah man maybe that’s why I love she-ra so much). If you haven’t watched it, go watch! (It’s a kids show, don’t worry admins) It’s super gay and explores mental health and trauma so well. I have watched it 8 times all the way through and still cry every episode. My favorite is end of season 4 and season 5. Also season 1 episode 11 still makes me ugly cry every time I watch it heh. Adora has cptsd and probably asd, Catra has bpd and asd, and Entrapta has asd (all cannon, pretty sure). There’s also a non-binary character who canonically uses they/them pronouns! We love Double Trouble :) ND Stevenson, the person who wrote the show is trans (yay trans rep) and also wrote Nimona, which explores transness and trauma. I also relate to Nimona a lot haha.

Ah also! I’m gay now :3 you know the one who *swore* they were just a really strong ally who took everything against the lgbtqia+ community a little too personally. I’m also non-binary and use they/them pronouns. Funnily enough most of us ended up being lgbt. I actually dated Viola off and on for like a year (ish?) and had a.. codependent situationship with Ashlee G for a few years. I’m actually really glad you all can talk so freely about lgbt stuff now. We fought tooth and nail for that. We couldn’t even *say* the word gay. I would’ve thought the cb would have backtracked even more with the way the world is now, I’m really glad to see that I’m wrong. Keep being yourself loves <3

Sorry this is a little long, I word vomit haha. Also admins, I'm not entirely sure what the rules on what we can and cant talk about are anymore, I mean I've been reading some of the threads and if anything it seems like there's more freedom but. Idk feel free to take out whatever. Just uh, maybe keep in the stuff about chronic/mental illness. As a professional speaker on this stuff, I know how important it is to talk about it at a young age. :)

Noon says unmnf. Are you pouting? Aw missed you too~

Hi Claaws! I don't think our time on the CB overlapped very much but I definitely remember seeing you around. Kyngdom still holds a special place in my heart so it's awesome to talk to the others who helped shape and create it. I'm wishing you luck with your chronic illnesses and treatment! I was recently diagnosed with essential tremor, which runs in my family. Getting treatment for chronic illnesses and disabilities is not easy, so I'm hoping things go well for you.

LGBTQIA studies sounds so cool? I have a complicated relationship with my own identity and place in the community, so I'm not sure if I'm really much of an expert on that topic haha. I attend the local pride celebration in my area every year though, and it's always great to talk to fellow members of the community! Anyway, it's great to hear an update from you, and I'm hoping everything is going good for you!

Hey Sybill! I definitely remember you! Kyndom also meant a lot to me, and I don't talk to anyone who was a part of it anymore so I can't go on random rants about it. Ah thank you! The medical system sucks and I'm about to have pretty serious insurance issues (UK looking pretty good rn) but right now we're managing at least. With all the things I'm learning I could 100% be a med student haha my roommate and I keep joking that one of us needs to go to medical school so we don't have to deal with the medical system. Hope you're getting treatment alright for your tremor! I know tremors are pretty hard to deal with at times, and very frusterating.

I really liked my LGBTQIA+ classes, like three of my teachers were non-binary and they were pretty much the only Professors of Color I've had here. (I think my university is also just incredibly racist though, unfortunately. ) Taking those classes helped me explore my identity more, which I'm very grateful for. I love going to pride! I ran a booth last year at a pride for the mental health organization i'm a part of, which was really fun. I enjoy meeting all the local gays haha.

It's nice to hear from you too! Hope all is going well :)

Hi Claaws! In my mind, you're pretty famous, so it's pretty cool to read you :) lgbtqiap+ studies (would love to hear more about that) and speaking (professionally too!) about mental health sounds amazing!! I actually feel like I learned so much from reading just that XD. And "word vomit" is so great could I steal that phrase from you? Best of luck with everything you're dealing with right now!! <3

Wow so cool to see you, as an old member of kyngdom and all. I'm Moon Wolf, she/her. :) Yeah, it seems that CB has changed a bit since when you were here. Now it's more open and an overall nice community for everyone. Anyways, hope you are having a good day!

Hello! I've definitely seen your name around on Kyngdom! You honestly sound so cool. And as a Genderfluid kiddo for whom CB has always been a safe space to *be gay*, I'm very grateful for all the work you guys did to get it this way! :) keep on being awesome!

Hi! I'm WiLdSoNg, and I have been here for a little over a year! I feel like an older CBer especially with a bunch of newer CBers joining but you two are literally part of the foundation of Kyngdom! That's so cool! I am part of the group trying to revive it (as much as my busy schedule will allow) and y'all have done an amazing job building an entire world! Anyway, just wanted to say hi! I've read your posts and it sounds like you are into some really cool stuff as well as having to experience some difficulties. I hope everything goes well for you and I hope you pop in to talk again!
