And he should have said something. He should have tried to make it work. If HE got HELP CHEATING, then it is. his. fault. for not knowing that. If he were a white guy, you were say that it was his fault for not knowing CPR. Yes, white cops ARE NOT punished fairly for their actions. You are stereotyping so  much that it huts, and you are being completerly biased towards Asian american people. It's so frustrating. If I were like, "White power!" I would be murdered, but if you say everything that you say, people are like, "YASSS ASIANS!" I don't know what else to say. And you say you "wish you were black or hispanic, lol." No. You really don't. You are PRIVILIGED to be Asian American because at least the stereotypes Asians are associated with aren't as negative.

Just saying, I did respond, I just need to wait for one of the Admins to check my argument.

In the meantime, could you at least look up the reason why he didn't perform CPR? It's so obvious…

I know that he wasnt trained, but he didn't even try to get help. According to video evidence, he stood there saying, "I'm going to lose my job. I'm going to lose my job."

Admin, the person who was on vacation came back, right? So why can't you check that post for accuracy now? It's killing me! I hate when people are misinformed.

That Admin only works office hours during the week, not weekends. Sometimes you just have to wait. And there are vacations coming up, too. There are likely other places that are more appropriate for you to keep discussing themes that may be sensitive for Chatterbox.

I understand why you're upset. Maybe when you grow up, you can do something about it! Help Asian rights or something! I think it's cool that you want to do something about it. As for everyone else, well everyone's different. Some people would rather sit back and not do anything than make a riot. It's just a matter of different thinking.

He didn't even LEARN how to perform CPR! So how do you expect him to do so! Answer!

So an untrained Asian officer should spend years in jail for crimes that aren't as bad as what the white officers did? The worse crimes, that the white officers weren't even fined for?

NO! Mei-xue, you aren't LISTENING.

Peter Liang= did wrong. He go to jail.

White police officers do wrong things= should go to jail but don't

Just because White police>Liang doesn't mean Liang=0.

It's more like white police>Liang>0.

All races and religions have been persecuted and massacred at some point in history.

Also, The whole point averedge thing- The people running the schools are trying to divisify. Have you ever heard a smart white person stereyotype? I haven't, but according to you whites have to score higher than african-americans to get into Ivy League schools. Why would this be? They are trying to get more divirsity in thier schools. They don't want the reputation of being a "white school"

And for whom was Peter Liang a scapegoat? He has house arrest and community service for criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, and two counts of official misconduct.

He was carring an open firearm (which you aren't supposed to do with out an immidiate threat), which acceidentally fired, ricoccied, and hit a man.

So the death wasn't his fault, but he didn't have to carry the gun openly in a residential area. Unless you know why he was?

One race can say something that another can't? Sounds familiar, actually.

Also, Asian Privilege? This is what I think happens:

In school: Teacher makes a offensive racial comment to African American equals fired. Teacher makes racially offensive comment to Asian American equals slap on wrist and Asians are thin skinned.

In workplace: Coworker makes offensive racial remark to African American coworker equals fired. Coworker makes offensive racial remark to Asian American, Asian American is told by HR it was a joke, lightened up, and you hurt the team vibe.

In Admissions to Elite Colleges: African Americans and Latinos can get in with lower grades and test scores. Asian Americans even with high grades and test scores are told they are they are not well-rounded despite being in numerous clubs, community service, school band, and playing one sport.

In media: Characters from source material who are Caucasian are made African American and Latino in movies to add diversity. Asian inspired characters and even autobiographical characters from Ghandi to Bringing Down The House are changed from Asian to Caucasian characters for marketing purposes. When Asian males are cast, they are off emasculated and serve as comic relief.

I am privileged because my parents busted their butts, saved money, and provided me with more than I can ask for in life. Most of us had the privilege of growing up in a 99% white town where eggs were thrown at our house and we were told to go back where we belong. The Asian progressives from Berkeley who likely lack any true diversity or clear lense on life need to step outside their own bubble.

The apparently "positive" racism and stereotype about the "Model Minority" myth is just as bad, S.E! Because now everyone thinks that we don't face racism, because we are so "privileged"!

Mei-xue, we can't post images from other publications on Chatterbox, and especially if the source is not identified in the accompanying comment.

It's better to have someone say you're smart and mathy than have someone say you're incapable of work. And you realize that I KNOW that Liang was doing something not as bad as the white police do?

Ok?

Breathe.

Liang did something wrong. He was punished fairly.

White police officers did something even worse. They weren't punished.

The two equations are on separate planes.
